Margaretta Wolf, 96-Year-Old Grocery Store Owner, Lays Smack Down on Robber

She may look like an easy target, but Margaretta Wolf, 96, turned the tables on a would-be robber at her neighborhood grocery store in Wisconsin. Looks can be deceiving, as they say. Having owned and operated her store for 54 years, she wasn’t about to cave to some armed intruder after he ordered her to open the cash register. “I said: ‘I’m not opening that register. That’s it, I’m not opening it. I said have all the Tootsie Rolls you want but I am not opening that cash register,'” she said. The man in the silver mask and carrying a knife continued to give Wolf orders during the robbery attempt Monday, but she was having none of it . “He said, ‘Walk in the back of the store.’ I said, ‘I’m not walking no place, I’m standing right here,’ ” Wolf recounted, then stood her ground even as he pulled a knife. “I said, ‘I’ll press a button and I’ll have somebody here in seconds,'” she said. Wolf said the would-be robber appeared frustrated and confused, looked around, saw a security camera in the corner, then took his knife and fled. Marshfield, Wisc., Police Lt. Darren Larsen said he’s just glad Wolf is okay. “In this instance, certainly again while not recommended with what took place, we’re just very, very happy Marge was not injured,” Larsen told WAOW-TV. Wolf said she has a few words for the suspect if the cops nab him. “What do I say to him? I say I think you got some punishments coming, and it will be a little bit more than scrubbing the floor,” she told her local news. Moral of the story … don’t mess with this granny!

Redneck Heaven Restaurant Barred From Using Body Paint as Waitress’ Tops

Redneck Heaven restaurant finds itself in hot water this week after Lewisville, Texas, banned it from allowing waitresses to wear body paint while serving food. After complaints to police about the waitress’ sexy attire (or lack thereof) at Redneck Heaven, the city council voted to change an ordinance. It is now illegal for women to cover their breasts with just body paint. A woman at Monday night’s council meeting voiced her concerns: “We’re quite shocked to see these young ladies weren’t dressed,” Catherine Holliday said. “They had very scant bottoms on and their tops were painted .” “It’s a restaurant that’s between two family restaurants.” It’s unclear what the “breastaurant’s” reaction will be, but if management wants its staff to keep wearing body paint, it’ll have to apply for a permit. A Sexually Oriented Business permit. Fortunately, while Redneck Heaven patrons may no longer be able to see babes with no clothes, there’s still plenty of options at this meat market. We’re talking about their awesome-sounding burger recipes like a signature “Border Patrol Belt Buster” or “Double-Bubba Pounder” Nolan Ryan Burger.

Riff Raff: Suing Spring Breakers For Basing James Franco Character On His "Life"

Last time we discussed  Spring Breakers it was the ridiculous theory that  Spring Breakers  is a spiritual journey  as opposed to just some self-indulgent tale from the mind of Harmony Korine. I did not think it would get more odd than that. I was wrong. In a story that I wish was a joke, just for the sake of humanity, rapper Riff Raff is suing the creators of  Spring Breakers . Why? Well duh, it’s because they based James Franco’s character on him. I totally see it. Actually, I might have maybe gone along with Riff Raff had he not made the mistake so many before him have made, he opened his mouth. In talking with TMZ, Riff Raff tells them that he deserves a lump sum of around $8-10 million because, “It’s like if I have a front yard and you’re planting soil and you’re planting trees and building peaches and houses and selling parking lots on my property… then I deserve to be compensated for some portion of that money.” You don’t plant soil. You certainly don’t build peaches. How big is this front yard that someone is able to go about selling parking lots off of it? Not only that, they’ve built peaches but not the parking lots they are now selling? Your logic is missing some steps here Riff Raff. Why on earth am I trying to apply logic to a statement from a man seeking $10 million from someone who built peaches on his lawn?  Good luck Riff Raff. With any luck Judge Judy will catch this case and we’ll all have entertainment for at least an afternoon. Looking for more ridiculous news? Check out this  The Rooftop trailer !

Cory Monteith: A Pro at Work, A Problem in Canada

It’s no secret that Cory Monteith struggled with substance abuse. He talked to Parade Magazine last year about fearing he would die at the age of 19 and he entered rehab in April . However, sources confirm to TMZ that while the actor may have been dealing with issues in his personal life… they never affected him on the Glee set. The cast of the hit Fox show – most notably girlfriend Lea Michele – were aware of Monteith’s demons and went out of their way to ensure he was clean and sober. The star never appeared under any kind of influence during his years affiliated with the show, an insider says. But it was a different story in Monteith’s native Canada. Friends in Vancouver reportedly fueled Cory’s addiction, partying with the actor and often bringing drugs and alcohol along wherever they went. The negative influence/pull of those home friends allegedly grew stronger in recent weeks, with family members reaching out to Monteith and urging him to come back to California. But Cory simply retreated even further and, tragically, died in a Vancouver hotel room last Saturday. Staff members confirm he had spent the evening with acquainances in the area.
