SNL Scorecard: Was Tina Fey Overshadowed by Captain Jack Sparrow?

There was a sense that, after a few recent not-so-great shows and a month off to recharge (the last new SNL was back on April 9), Saturday Night Live was due for a triumphant return this week — especially with its most heralded recent alum, Tina Fey, hosting the Mother’s Day episode in the same week that Osama bin Laden was killed. And Fey even brought Maya Rudolph along for the ride to help out. So, plenty of material to go around, right? Right?

Ke$ha Says She’s ‘Disappointed’ By Grammy Snub

‘I plan on making a lot more records, and hopefully one of them will be Grammy-worthy,’ singer tells Vanity Fair. By James Dinh Ke$ha Photo: Jordan Strauss/ Getty Images Last year was full of breakout music stars, including Ke$ha , who ruled the scene with a string of dance-pop hits (and a massive overflow of glitter). But not everyone is a Ke$ha fan: The singer was snubbed when the 2011 Grammy nominees were announced in December. The starlet recently spoke to Vanity Fair about the Grammy snub and said she’s determined to score a nod sometime later in her career. And after calling the Recording Academy’s award “not that big a deal,” Ke$ha admitted that she was saddened by her lack of nominations. “Of course I do,” the singer said when asked if she wanted a Grammy. “I was disappointed that I didn’t get nominated. But I’ve only been around for a year. I’m friends with the Black Keys, and they were nominated for the first time this year. And they’ve been around for a decade. That’s like half my life, so I really can’t be a brat about it.” Ke$ha isn’t bitter about the situation either, telling the magazine, “I plan on making a lot more records, and hopefully one of them will be Grammy-worthy.” While she may not be gearing up for the big show on Sunday night, Ke$ha is prepping for the launch of her first North American headlining tour, the Get $leazy Tour . The country-wide trek is scheduled to kick off on Tuesday in Portland, Oregon, and continue through May. Do you think Ke$ha deserved a Grammy nomination? Share your thoughts in the comments! Miley Cyrus To Host ‘Saturday Night Live’ On March 5

The teen star’s appearance will be her first time hosting the long-running sketch-comedy show. By Aly Semigran Miley Cyrus Photo: Frank Micelotta/ Getty Images If you’re a Miley Cyrus fan, here’s some news that’s “like, prit-tay cool!” The 18-year-old singer/actress is slated to host “Saturday Night Live” for the first time on March 5, People.com has confirmed. Unlike some previous genre-spanning celebs who have hosted the sketch-comedy show such as Justin Timberlake and Jennifer Lopez, though, Cyrus won’t pull double duty as the evening’s musical guest. There’s no word yet on who will provide the musical entertainment on the episode. The teenage phenom has been something of a fixture on “SNL” over the past season, with new castmember Vanessa Bayer’s dead-on impersonation of the “Hannah Montana” star in the sketch “The Miley Cyrus Show” seen semi-regularly on the late-night program. In it, Bayer — joined by Jason Sudeikis as her overly eager dad, Billy Ray Cyrus — portrays Miley as she interviews other celebrities while often interjecting her own stories and expressing that everything is, well, “pretty cool.” Cyrus — who has two upcoming comedy films, “So Undercover” and “LOL,” in the works — has also been the butt of some jokes because of her now-infamous bong/salvia-smoking moment, which was all caught on tape and posted online in December 2010. The teen sensation has since addressed the incident, admitting in a recent Marie Claire cover story, “For me it was a bad decision, because of my fans and because of what I stand for.” In addition to the “SNL” hosting gig in three weeks, Cyrus will appear at Sunday night’s Grammy Awards as a presenter. How do you think Miley will do as “SNL” host? Tell us in the comments. For young Hollywood news, fashion and “Twilight” updates around the clock, visit HollywoodCrush.MTV.com . Jersey Shore Recap: She’s Finally Outta Here!!!

This week’s Jersey Shore marked the departure of Sammi “Sweetheart” Giancola. A permanent exist, we think – and hope – after the fight to end all fights. As much as we aren’t sorry to see her go, we’ll give her this much – she went out in style after a blowout with Ronnie Magro that exceeded even their standards. This comprised most of the memorable Jersey Shore quotes and scenes from the episode, as we’ve broken down, as always, in our trademark +/- recap below: BOILING POINT: Ron wants Sam’s stuff out of here … with her on top of it. Ronnie confronts The Situation for violating guy code. Funny how, like Sammi pointing the finger at JWoww and Snooki, they always blame others. Minus 5 . Able to see the big picture (take note, Ron), Sitch “takes the high road” and apologize to ensure it doesn’t end in a brawl. Plus 4 for his surprising maturity. He hits the boardwalk to cool off, unaware that Sammi is also heading there with Deena, who “loves single Sammi!” Who loves anything Sammi!? Minus 6 . Sam tells Ron that she’s “never been so hurt” in her entire life as she was in Miami. Ron politely tells her he’s done paying for that and to suck it. Plus 8 . “I’m going to go out there and find the hottest guy in this bar and get Ron back for talking to a girl,” says Sam. Minus 5 for sounding like a petulant, whiny b!tch and Minus 12 for the fact that the “hottest guy” may be a homeless man. Plus 11 for JWoww’s porn star getup here: SEXY JWOWW : Snooki likely isn’t the only one with wood. Snooki: “Jenni looks so hot. Like porn star hot. If Roger wasn’t here then I would probably have sex with her.” Snooki may actually be a man. Plus 8 . She actually asks if she can watch, too. Gross. Minus 5 . Roger sums it up nicely: “Awright, let’s go push.” Plus 9 . Ronnie: “What I did in Miami, at least I had enough respect for you to do it when you’re not around.” He’s right, that totally makes it better. Minus 6 . Pauly notes that Ronnie has kind of a temper. That’s like saying Pauly has kind of awesome hair or The Situation kind of has a six pack. Plus 4 . Things boil over between Ronnie and Sammi to the point where they both have to be physically restrained. Minus 5 , because this is just getting sad. Until Ronnie starts TRASHING HER STUFF and threatening to start boning up a storm with girls in the smash room. Now that’s more like it. Plus 27 . Minus 9 for Snooki’s bed/stairway/Vinny schlong analogy, though. SAYING GOODBYE: It’s been real, Sam. Please don’t come back. Sitch: “This was probably the worst fight I’ve ever seen. Like a five-car crash; horrible, but you can’t keep your eyes off it. Plus 10 , ’cause it’s true. Minus 14 for this metaphor by MTV: “Everything is destroyed of mine,” she says. “Everything is broken and ruined.” Her emotions AND her stuff! Get it??! The roommates hug it out as Sammi departs. We’re actually a little bit sad saying farewell to one of the original cast members. Okay, that’s over. Plus 7 . Pauly could have at least hollered “Cab’s Here!” in honor of her exit. Minus 3 . Ronnie: “I miss her and I love her and I definitely regret all the negative $h!t I’ve ever done. Definitely more now than ever.” Aww. But WE don’t! Plus 9 . TOTAL: +25. SEASON TOTAL: +177.

Dana Carvey, Justin Bieber Do ‘Church Chat’ on ‘SNL’ (VIDEO)

It was just like old times last night on Saturday Night Live as Dana Carvey took the helm and brought back lots of old favorites. Justin Bieber hadn’t even been born yet when Carvey’s classic “Church Chat” skits originally aired on SNL , but that didn’t stop the teen sensation from doing a cameo spot last night. It was pretty funny seeing the Church Lady give us her take on the wonderful television programming of today, including  shows like MTV’s Skins , which she referred to as a “SportCenter for pedophiles,” and other shows like “One and a Half Men and a Whore Monger.” Carvey also chatted with the “holy trinity of sluts,” the Kardashian sisters ( Nasim Pedrad , Vanessa Bayer , and Abby Elliot ) who talked about Kim’s nude W magazine cover . Bobby Moynihan also showed up as Jersey Shore ‘s “Snooki”, who Church Lady noted had her “body squeezed into a dress like a sausage into a casing.” Then, Justin Bieber himself showed up, eliciting quite an unexpected reaction from the Church Lady with his “voice that makes young ladies’ naughty parts tingle.” Last night, we were also treated to a “Wayne’s World” reunion when Mike Myers showed up to reprise his role as Wayne. SNL Scorecard: Were Three Mark Zuckerbergs a Charm?

A “cocky” Jesse Eisenberg hosted last night’s edition of Saturday Night Live , though his performance was a bit lost in the excitement from the worst kept secret of the week: The actor’s first (OK, maybe second, considering that they most likely caught up during dress rehearsal) face-to-face meeting with Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg, whom Eisenberg portrayed in The Social Network . But, stunt cameos aside, how did the recent Oscar nominee fare?
