And there is a reason why they say “please don’t feed the animals”: A circus elephant trampled to death a girl who was attempting to feed it, police in Vietnam said Monday. Police officer Pham Ngoc Tien of Lao Cai province said the elephant was part of a troupe from Hanoi on a 10-day tour of the province. The animal was tied to a chain in the fenced backyard of a cultural center when it was not performing. Tien said Monday that the 11-year-old girl and several other children had entered its enclosure. The girl was feeding the elephant when it lifted her up with its trunk, threw her to the ground and trampled her repeatedly. Police officer Phan Van Quang told AFP that Nguyen Thao Anh was offering the elephant sugarcane. “She was trampled to death on the spot”, he added. Nguyen Xuan Quang, deputy director of the Vietnam Circus Federation, reportedly said that children had been teasing the animal prior to Sunday’s incident. Speaking to AFP, Quang added that the victim’s father was talking on the phone at the time. Source

What-thee-fizzuck?!?!?! A former model convicted of killing her husband, then cooking and eating his remains wants to get out of prison early. Omaima Aree Nelson is seeking early release from her 27-years-to-life sentence for murdering William E. Nelson, 56, over Thanksgiving weekend in 1991. Nelson is scheduled to appear at a parole board hearing next Wednesday in Chowchilla State Prison in Central California. Her first bid at parole was rejected in 2006. Nelson, who worked as a parttime model and nanny in Egypt, immigrated to the U.S. in 1986. She was in her 20′s when she killed her husband and then dismembered and cooked parts of his body in their Costa Mesa apartment. The couple had been married for about a month. After the murder, Nelson cooked her husband’s head on the stove, skinned his torso, fried his hands in oil, Senior Deputy District Attorney Randy Pawloski, who prosecuted the case, told the Daily Pilot. Nelson then drove garbage bags filled with the body parts to various ex-boyfriends, asking them to help dispose of the evidence and offering $75,000 for help, Pawloski said. Neighbors at the time said the garbage disposal was on for “a long time” and “constant chopping sounds” were coming from the home, according to the newspaper. In court, a psychiatrist testified that Nelson put on red shoes, a red hat and red lipstick before spending hours chopping up her husband’s body. According to Pawloski, Nelson was the first defendant to used the “battered wife” defense in Orange County, claiming her husband raped her the night before she killed him. She also told psychiatrists and her attorney that she had been the victim of sexual abuse as a child in Egypt where she was molested, beaten and forced to undergo female circumcision, a mutilation of the female genitalia. Talk about a crazy broad!!! Source

She claims to be the perfect homemaker, but a new book calls into question Martha Stewart as a perfect mother. And the author of this book? Martha’s daughter, Alexis. The 46-year old slams her famous parent in “Whateverland: Learning to Live Here,” writing of her childhood: “If I didn’t do something perfectly, I had to do it again. I grew up with a glue gun pointed at my head.” Labeling the domestic television goddess as “not interesting in being kid-friendly,” Alexis goes into detail about Martha’s Christmas present philosophy (“”She used to make me wrap my own presents…”) and hypocritical shoe removal demands. “My mother has a sign on all of her doors to take your shoes off,” Alexis writes. “For god’s sake! My mother’s dogs p–s and s–t on her rugs and she’s telling people to take their shoes off?” Alexis also crosses the TMI line with this entry: “[She] always peed with the door open. I remember saying, ‘You know, now I have friends over! You can’t do that anymore! It’s gotta stop! My friends’ parents don’t do it! Give me a break here! I don’t feel like being embarrassed! It’s exhausting! I’m a kid! Stop!'” Still, despite this randomly published complaints, Alexis actually dedicates the memoir to her mother and says there are no hard feelings. Martha apparently agrees, saying of her child: “She’s her own person. She makes up her own mind.”

About a year before she started dating Chaz Bono , Jennifer Ella had an incident that she would just as soon forget. She was arrested and booked on a charge of “battery of an ex-spouse/fiancee/person with a dating relationship.” Pretty hard core. Often referred to as “ simple domestic battery ,” the charge means that the perpetrator or attacker can be arrested “even if only the slightest force is used in the incident … any unwanted physical touching will suffice.” Short story, you don’t have to injure the victim to be convicted. The outcome of Jennifer’s case is unknown, as only the victim and the victim’s family are privy to it. Most likely, it was dropped or settled out of court. Jennifer Ella may have hinted at her alleged aggression in the documentary Becoming Chaz when she admitted: “When things get tough, I start to drink.” Happily, Jennifer said in May that she’s 14 months sober. She’ll be cheering on Chaz Bono as he competes in week three of Dancing With the Stars tonight. Chaz says he wants to marry Jennifer Ella within a year. [Photo: WENN.com]

Jenelle Evans will somehow go to jail for eviscerating Britany Truett in a fight back in March. The Teen Mom star was given a 30-day suspended sentence today. Evans was charged with simple affray, which is less bad than the aggravated assault she arguably could have been hit with, and also got 12 months probation. If she stays clean for a year, she’ll avoid jail. We’d say that’s a toss-up … Jenelle Evans Beating Up Girl Evans was fined $100, must take anger management courses, do community service, and have zero contact with the girl whose face she smashed to a pulp during the fight or the pathetic lowlifes who cheered the train wreck on (above). As for Britany Truett, she received the same sentence even though she took about 79 punches while landing close to none. Seriously, she got whomped. Jenelle Evans ‘ attorney says the sentence was fair, given that “it came out that it wasn’t Janelle being the aggressor and Ms. Truett as the victim.” “It was presented as a bad decision on everybody’s part,” the lawyer adds. “I don’t think that there was a single victim in the case.”

Don’t mess with her man, or she’ll be the one to break it to ya… According to TMZ reports : T.I.’s wife tells TMZ, prison officials are trying to make an example out of her husband by dragging him back to prison — targeting him simply because he’s a famous rapper. Tameka “Tiny” Cottle tells us, “It’s important that the world know how unfair he’s being treated on such minor charges … all because he’s T.I.” According to Tiny, T.I.’s the victim of a vicious double standard — “There are way more dangerous and carefree [celebrities] that get slapped on the wrist and sent on their way.” Tiny adds, “Our family needs [him] … and because of someone’s personal vendetta against him, we have to watch our kids’ sad faces everyday when he still doesn’t show up at home.” T.I. — who was hauled back to prison last week on his way to a halfway house — is scheduled for release in a few weeks. It’s definitely shady the way they’re doing lil T.I., let the Kang be great!!

Tragic clip tugs at heartstrings with depictions of abuse, molestation and prostitution. By Rob Markman Lil Wayne Photo: Getty Images If fans already thought that Lil Wayne put his emotions on display on “How to Love,” off Tha Carter IV, wait until they get a load of the video, which premieres online on Wednesday (August 24). The Chris Robinson-directed clip is filled with drama and social commentary, telling the story of a beautiful young woman who stumbles into every imaginable pitfall. The video opens in an abortion clinic, where a woman lies in a gown on the operating table. Suddenly she changes her mind and flies off the table and through the clinic’s hall, choosing to keep her child. Shortly after that, the song’s acoustic guitar licks drop in and we see a shirtless Wayne alone in a dimly lit hallway, singing, “You had a lot of crooks try to steal your heart, never really had luck, could never figure out how to love.” It is then that the distressed woman’s story begins to unspool. We first see her being abused by her boyfriend, thrown to the ground in her bedroom while her infant, sitting in a car seat nearby, cries. Fast-forward a few years later, and the mother is in a prison visiting room, talking to her incarcerated boyfriend through a glass panel while her daughter, now a toddler, sits in her lap. “How to Love” producer Detail warned that the single’s video would “shock” us. A boyfriend in prison is just the tip of the iceberg. Things get disturbing in a flashback scene that reveals the woman was molested as a child. The scene starts just as Tunechi belts out, “When you were just a youngin, your looks were so precious.” Cash Money and company clearly pulled no punches. We see the pre-teen sitting in pigtails as her father (or father figure) approaches her unfastening his belt, putting his fingers to his lips, messaging for her to keep quiet as she tries to fight him off. In the following sequences, it is hinted that she eventually gave birth to her molester’s baby. The message is deep, and in the video Wayne plays second fiddle, not letting his performance shots get in the way of Robinson’s story-telling. Together they illustrate a domino effect. Forget going from bad to worse: During the course of the five-minute clip things go from tragic to abysmal. The young woman’s eventual career as a stripper begets prostitution, and it is her life as a prostitute that ultimately leads to a death sentence. At approximately the three-minute mark the music cuts out and we see the principal character in a doctor’s office similar to the one shown in the first scene, only this time she isn’t able to run from the results. “Your blood results came back positive,” the doctor tells her. When she asks, “Positive for what?,” he replies, “HIV.” Maybe the message is dramatically overdone, but with the clip Wayne — who will be performing at the Video Music Awards and dropping his album at midnight afterwards — sparks discussion much like TLC did with their cautionary 1995 video for “Waterfalls.” There is hope, however; in a rewind sequence the victim’s life is redone. In an alternate reality, the abuse that she faced is erased. There is no molestation, no beatings, no prison visits, stripping or exchanging sex for money. Instead she graduates high school, is married in a church and winds up in the same doctor’s office, this time finding out that she is pregnant. She reacts with a joyous sigh, turns to her mother and says, “Thank you, just thank you for being there for me and teaching me how to love.” It wasn’t just the guitar strings that Weezy plucked at with this single; he was clearly tugging at the heartstrings as well. The 28th annual MTV Video Music Awards will air live Sunday, August 28, from the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles at 9 p.m. ET/PT, following the Selena Gomez-hosted pre-show at 8.
