Dr. Conrad Murray Not Taking Plea Deal

Dr. Conrad Murray must feel pretty good about his defense strategy of blaming the victim , because dude is not interested in any plea bargain, thankyouverymuch . Michael Jackson’s embattled personal physician, who faces involuntary manslaughter charges stemming from the icon’s death last June, is not looking for a deal. Sources say Dr. Murray is adamant that he did nothing wrong and that Michael Jackson killed himself . Thus, he will not plead to manslaughter or a lesser offense. The doc’s defense team plans to contend that Jackson did himself in by self-injecting a fatal dose of Propofol into his bloodstream while Murray had left the room. Will Dr. Conrad Murray beat the rap? Murray, insiders report, is ” completely confident ” that he will be found not guilty on all charges, despite the inconsistencies in his story and rumors of a cover-up. He is less certain that medical boards in Texas, Nevada and California will reach a similar result, though a judge did not pull his California medical license Monday. Murray intends to fight to keep practicing, as he needs the cash money to pay for his defense and child support, but realizes the medical boards will go after him. Also going after him with a wrongful death lawsuit? Joe Jackson . But Conrad shouldn’t take that personally, since that guy will sue anything that comes along.

Man jailed for trying to frame crush’s husband with child porn

How to woo that colleague who doesn't seem to know you exist? You could engage her in laughter-filled conversation by the water cooler or invite her out for drinks after work. Then again, you could break into her house while she's asleep with her family upstairs, download child pornography on her computer and try and frame her husband. 44-year-old Ilkka Karltunen, from Finland, tried just that after he became obsessed by a co-worker and imagined that he could end up with her if only he could get her pesky husband out of the way. He sneaked into her home, downloaded the abhorrent images and then stole the computer's hard drive, later sending it anonymously to police with a note pointing the blame at his colleague's other half. The husband was then arrested and kept away from his young children and home while he was investigated. Somehow police ended up suspecting some involvement on Kartunen's part and ended up searching his home. In his garden shed they found a computer that contained the entire contents of his victim’s home computer, including family photographs, pictures of her husband’s bank statements, credit and debit cards. They also found evidence that on another occasion, while the family were out, Karttunen had broken into his victim’s home to take photographs of a calendar that showed when her husband would be at work. As well as that, he photographed a child’s bedroom in the house. Karttunnen denied the charges against him, but a jury convicted him on Friday. He was sentenced to four and a half years in prison. He was also made subject to a restraining order and has been ordered to sign the sex offenders register. http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/uk/article7081986.ece added by: richjm

Best New Catholic Church Defense: It’s Not Pedophilia If the Boys Were Post-Pubescent [Grasping]

On Larry King Live last night, professional overzealous defender of the Catholic Church Bill Donohue explained to Sinead O’Connor that it’s not pedophilia if the victim is 12 or 13. See, if the kids were post-pubescent—12 or 13, according to Bill—then it’s not pedophilia anymore, it is homosexuality. And that means it’s not the fault of the church, it is the fault of Gays. (Sinead was there because she wrote a very good editorial about abuses in Ireland that the Vatican was complicit in. It ran in the Washington Post even though O’Connor never once wrote a speech for George W. Bush.) I wish we could go back in time and have the 1990 cast of Saturday Night Live reenact this video. (Also while we are using this time machine we could maybe stop all those priests who kept molesting children.)

April Fools Pranks: List of Best April Fool Pranks for Work – Part of the tradition on the world when April 1 is set to come is the April Fools day and expect that everyone will be a prankster today. Let us enjoy this day but make it sure that making pranks will be light-hearted and wont disturb nor even hurt your friends, families and colleagues. Here are some of the April Fools Pranks for work that I have collected which you may use now to enjoy the day: For Work: Yum! Cake: Cover a box with frosting and leaving the kitchen.  Watch as your co-workers attempt to take a slice! Mouse Trouble: Put a post-it over the ball of a mouse.  This will prevent the mouse from working and the victim will get very frustrated. Push/Pull: Put push/pull signs on the doors so that people are pushing when they should be pulling or vice versa.  Warning!  Do not do this prank on fire escape doors. Frozen!: Take a screenshot of a co-workers computer and blow it up on their monitor to actual size.  They’ll think their computer is frozen. For Home: Wake-Up Call: Hide the victim’s alarm clock and set it for 3am (or some other crazy time).  To take this joke a step further you can also unscrew the lightbulb so they have more trouble finding the alarm clock that’s beeping incessantly. Squirt!: An all-time classic prank.  Scotch tape the spray nozzle down so the next person that turns on the sink gets a squirt!  Here’s a tip:  Remember not to be the first person to turn on the sink! Slippery soap: Rub dish soap on your hands and then on the door knob to their room.  Watch as they attempt to get in! Snooki Once Kind of Killed Someone

Before she was a world-renowned trashy reality star, Jersey Shore star Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi was criminally charged for getting minors trashed at a house party. A party that ended with a DUI death of a classmate. Snooki was one of three individuals charged in connection with the 2004 death of teenager Michael Truncali, a Marlboro, N.Y., High School senior at the time. Truncali died with a BAC of .18 – more than twice the legal limit – when he crashed his car and died on Thanksgiving after drinking for hours at Snooki’s house. He had been drinking heavily in Snooki’s basement before crashing his car on his way home. Snooki was charged with Prohibited Sale of Alcoholic Beverages. Snooki, of course, has emerged as one of the breakout stars of MTV’s hit show, where partying and binge drinking is frequently part – or all – of the episodes. Are Snooki and her co-stars setting a terrible example? According to police statements, the party took place in a home owned by Helen Polizzi, who is Snooki’s mother. Helen was investigated but not charged. The parents of the victim, however, do not think the entire truth has been told and they expressed conflicting emotions about Snooki’s rise to stardom. Michelle and Bill Truncali are upset how she “glorifies” alcohol consumption, and watched two Jersey Shore episodes before they “couldn’t take anymore.” She expressed some anger toward Snooki, saying: “She doesn’t care about what happened to our son.” But later she said: “We’re not out to trash Nicole. I never blamed her for what happened, she was a 16-year-old (sic). I blame others.” “I am not looking for those people to get arrested, I just want the truth … I just don’t feel that parents should allow underage drinking in their homes.” Bill and Michelle said they hope that by speaking out they will spread a message to other teens about consequences of underage drinking and driving.

Erin Andrews to Peephole Stalker: You Violated Me!

“You are a sexual predator, a sexual deviant. They should lock you up.” With these words, ESPN reporter Erin Andrews tore into Michael David Barrett, the stalker who pleaded guilty in December to following her to at least three cities and shooting nude videos of her through hotel peepholes without her consent. “You violated me and you violated all women,” Erin said told the total creep and now convicted stalker, who was sentenced to 2 1/2 years in prison for videotaping her. The Illinois insurance executive gave a tearful apology for the peephole video of Erin Andrews nude , but it fell upon deaf ears and was harshly rebuked by his victim. In fact, Andrews urged the judge at the hearing to levy an even harsher sentence against Barrett and said that she now fears for her life every time she enters a hotel. After the sentencing, she said, “Thirty months isn’t enough.” NOT ENOUGH : Erin says the perv’s 30-month sentence doled out yesterday may not be long enough for his creepy behavior. We find it hard to argue with her there . Michael Barrett , who has until May 3 to surrender, was ordered to have supervised probation for three years after his release and is prohibited from contacting Erin. He will not be allowed to stay in a hotel without approval of a probation officer and if he accepts employment somewhere, Andrews will be notified by the court. You can watch Erin Andrews in less creepy fashion beginning next week, when she joins the cast of Dancing with the Stars. Last week, we sized up her chances .

Former NYT editor asks the question that ALL real journalists should ask. Why is Fox News considered a legitimate source of news?

Here just an excerpt from Howard Raines ballsy opinion piece from the Washington Post : Why has our profession, through its general silence — or only spasmodic protest — helped Fox legitimize a style of journalism that is dishonest in its intellectual process, untrustworthy in its conclusions and biased in its gestalt? The standard answer is economics, as represented by the collapse of print newspapers and of audience share at CBS, NBC and ABC. Some prominent print journalists are now cheering Rupert Murdoch, the head of News Corp. (which owns the Fox network) for his alleged commitment to print, as evidenced by his willingness to lose money on the New York Post and gamble the overall profitability of his company on the survival of the Wall Street Journal. This is like congratulating museums for preserving antique masterpieces while ignoring their predatory methods of collecting. Why can’t American journalists steeped in the traditional values of their profession be loud and candid about the fact that Murdoch does not belong to our team? His importation of the loose rules of British tabloid journalism, including blatant political alliances, started our slide to quasi-news. His British papers famously promoted Margaret Thatcher’s political career, with the expectation that she would open the nation’s airwaves to Murdoch’s cable channels. Ed Koch once told me he could not have been elected mayor of New York without the boosterism of the New York Post. These are very obvious questions which should have been asked way back when Fox News started blurring the line between news and opinion. You know I do believe that was the day of their premiere. Maybe the real journalists thought that the American people would catch on. That they would not be so easily seduced by salacious stories delivered by large breasted blond women accompanied by state of the art graphics and catchy background music. Apparently these journalists gave their fellow Americans way too much credit. The first time that Fox News definitively demonstrated to the world that they were a propaganda arm of the GOP was during the 2000 election when they helped George Bush steal the election. Since then they have been instrumental in helping George Bush fabricate the lie of WMD’s in Iraq to justify the invasion, made up falsehoods about presidential candidate John Kerry, openly attacked the science behind Climate Change, and are currently working non-stop to put a halt to Obama’s Health Care reform . Nobody, and I mean NOBODY, can seriously call what Fox does “reporting the news”. Personally I think their slogan of “Fair and Balanced” was always supposed to be ironic. I have little doubt it still causes Roger Ailes and Rupert Murdoch to giggle every time they hear it. So far the only cable news (or fake news) people to consistently take Fox News to task has been the amazing Keith Olbermann of MSNBC, Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert of Comedy Central, and of course THIS guy. You know if tomorrow EVERY OTHER news outlet suddenly decided, in unison, to call Fox News out on their bullshit, that audiences all across the world would have their eyes opened and that Fox would lose a huge section of its audience in one fell swoop. I mean if CNN took one of their broadcasts on Global Warming for instance, and pointed out all of the made up data and inconsistencies contained with in it, that would have an impact. And if ABC did the same with their coverage of the health care debate, and NBC revealed the manipulations behind their coverage of elections, and CBS spanked them for misrepresenting poll numbers, just think how quickly people would turn a critical eye toward this “cable news source”. I mean it is not like they are going after a colleague. The people on FOX are not “journalists” they are performers. It would be like if a ballet company called out a strip club for promoting their workers as classically trained dancers. Nobody would accuse the ballet company of being jealous or petty, they would just be pointing out the obvious. But you know they won’t do it. Because they are afraid. They are afraid that Fox New will use its money, and its easily manipulated audience, to attack and punish the other news networks. And they are afraid to stand up to that kind of a backlash. And to that I say, “What a bunch of pussies!” Are the other networks so afraid of losing viewers and sponsors that they would refuse to do their duty to inform the American people that they are the victim of a fraud? They have reported when cars are unsafe to drive, when foods may cause our children to be sickened, and when scams are being perpetrated on the elderly, how is this any different? Sometimes it is important to defy a powerful enemy and take a stand for your profession, for your country, and for the truth. After all being attacked by Fox News is not the end of the world. And I should know.

T.I. Name-Checks Tiger Woods On Leaked Usher Song

Atlanta MC mentions the scandal-weary golfer on singer’s ‘Guilty.’ By Shaheem Reid T.I. Photo: aylor Hill/ FilmMagic The hook of the first songs T.I. guests on since being sentenced to a year and a day in prison says, “Don’t take me to jail.” Isn’t it ironic? Tip collaborates with Usher on a new leaked record from Raymond v. Raymond called “Guilty,” where the singer is charged with breaking his girl’s heart. Tip did record another song with Usher last year before going to prison, but it sounds like the rhymes on “Guilty” were recorded recently — he name-checks a certain scandal-plagued athlete . “Right hand to the sky/ Strike me down if I a lie,” the King of the South proclaims. “If she sayin’ she’s the victim in this case then what am I/ She got proof, well I got alibis too/ I never been on bullsh– … she ain’t caught me on no Tiger Woods sh–/ Do what I expected when she met me/ Ballin’ against the law/ Shawty arrest me then.” Usher then pleads guilty. “I guess I’m guilty of always being in the club,” he sings. “I guess I’m guilty ’cause girls always wanna show me love/ I guess I’m guilty for living and having all of the fun/ Girl, I’m guilty for that/ Girl, I’m guilty.” Other recently leaked songs include “She Don’t Know” featuring Ludacris and “OMG” featuring Will.I.Am.
