R. Kelly: Sued for Alleged Sexual Battery, False Imprisonment

The allegations about R. Kelly’s sex cult house of horrors are enough to keep you up at night. And they just keep coming. While the Time’s Up movement pushes to #MuteRKelly , yet another woman who says that she was one of his victims is speaking out. In fact, she’s taking him to court. In court documents filed in a New York lawsuit and obtained by E! , Faith Rodgers accuses Kelly of a number of things. She says that he would lock her in secluded areas for extended periods of time as punishment. She accuses him of “willfully, deliberately, and maliciously” infecting her with herpes. R. Kelly is accused of recording her without her consent during sexual contact. He is accused of both forceful and non-consensual sexual contact with Faith. She also says that he inflicted mental, sexual, and verbal abuse upon her during their relationship, which spanned for nearly a year. Faith’s attorney, Lydia C. Hills, explains why they filed this lawsuit in New York. “The criminal investigation is still ongoing in the state of Texas.” It comes down, in part, to jurisdiction. “We have decided to file the civil suit in New York, as this is the location where the initial sexual contact and several other incidents took place.” Faith herself shares her horrifying allegations about that initial contact, below. “My goal is simply to obtain justice for my client, and hopefully, prevent this from happening to anyone else.” They are seeking damages in a jury trial. In an interview with CBS This Morning , Faith describes an upsetting-to-read encounter with R. Kelly that took place in New York. “He turns on all the lights and he’s like, ‘Take off your clothes’ and he says it with authority in his voice.” That is unsurprising from a man who is accustomed to having women obey his every command. “I didn’t take off my clothes because why would I? I just wasn’t ready for sex.” Unfortunately, he then forced non-consensual sex upon her, Faith alleges. “He has this type of like intimidation right off the bat, so I was just waiting for it to be over.” On top of that, she says that he did not warn her that he had herpes. R. Kelly is accused of keeping women as “pets,” and we are all too familiar with accusations of him isolating them and depriving them of food. Faith says that she got out before she was fully part of his traveling group of kept women. She does, however, describe why she accuses him of false imprisonment. She says that Kelly allegedly locked her in a car for eight hours . Faith’s next words may send a chill down your spine as you take in the scope of R. Kelly’s alleged victims. Faith believes that the abuse was all to prepare her to become another one of his “pets.” “He goes on to tell me that he raises five women — some of them have been with him for 15 years and he basically was trying to make it seem like it was a family thing.” Creepy. And those words are very familiar. “Raising” is a word fans have heard before, in references to women whom R. Kelly allegedly “trained” since they were minors. Including an alleged  14-year-old sex slave . It sounds like some women have lost their entire lives to Kelly. Faith, at least, got away from what her life might have been with Kelly. R. Kelly has always strongly denied the allegations against him. View Slideshow: Hollywood Sex Scandal: Who’s Been Caught? Accused? Fired?

Georgia Teen Filmed Students Having Sex in School Bathroom

A 17-year-old named Kyle Steven Bahner has been arrested for filming two of his fellow students having sex in a school bathroom. What was probably an impulsive decision could cost him big time and reshape his future for the worst. If convicted, he could spend years behind bars, as the video below will explain. Kyle Bahner is a Georgia teen who attends Harrison High School. It was at school, during lunch hours, during which he allegedly entered the men's restroom and overheard the tell-tale signs of sexual activity. What should have been an amusing anecdote to share with his friends became something else, as she held his phone above the stall in which the sex was taking place. There, he recorded two fellow students, a 15-year-old girl and a 16-year-old boy, having sex within the stall. He reportedly recorded all of this without their permission. To make things worse, he then distributed that video to a number of friends via social media. That, folks, is a crime.   On a scripted teen drama, something like this might happen  When the assistant principal learned that this video was being spread, Cobb County police were notified. According to the warrant, Bahner told administrators: “I took a video of a guy and a girl in a stall because I don't see how they should let that happen and I was showing it to my friends.” He is charged with eavesdropping surveillance, and has been released on $5,000 bail. If convicted, he could face 1-5 years in prison. A number of people are blaming the victims for this. To be clear, though having sex on campus is almost certainly against school rules, they were clearly trying to avoid being seen and did not in any way invite being recorded. (While not everyone engages in it, sex in bathrooms is a pretty normal occurrence in high school) Additionally, a lot of people are asking why he has not been charged with child pornography. After all, a number of teens have been charged with that hefty, life-ruining label for taking photos of themselves . The answer, quite frankly, is that the video did not show anyone's genitals. At least there's that. As you can see, Twitter was full of misinformed outrage among other responses. While it is totally normal for someone to have the impulse to share what they are seeing, it is not appropriate to film people having sex and distribute it without their consent. Especially when the students are minors. For that matter, if you're alone in a bathroom, a mirror selfie is fine. Beyond that … nobody needs to be photographing or recording anything in bathrooms. Bahner has also gotten into trouble with the school for this incident. “This incident has been thoroughly investigated by school administrators and school district police. In addition to the criminal charge, appropriate action has been taken in accordance with the Student Code of Conduct.” Well … that was vague, but that's appropriate. Bahner, like his alleged victims, is a minor.

Kevin Smith: Smoking Weed Saved My Life!

Back in February,  Kevin Smith suffered a heart attack that nearly claimed his life. Fortunately, the beloved filmmaker pulled through, and these days, he's up and about, and once again meeting the many demands of his still-thriving media empire. Smith updated fans on his condition throughout his recovery, noting that he rapidly lost 17 pounds after switching to a mostly plant-based diet. Yes, the man who created such characters as Bluntman & Chronic and who hosts a web series called Fatman on Batman might not seem like the most likely health guru, but Smith has been to the brink and turned things around. And while he admits that some of his vices led to the slow deterioration of his health, there's one indulgence that may have literally saved his life. Smith appeared on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert last night, and he shared the tale of receiving some very surprising news from his physician. It seems Smith was in New York to perform a stand-up set when the attack occurred, and his pre-show herbal relaxation ceremony wound up making the difference between life and death. “I asked my doctor like after this was all done, I was like, 'I hate to ask this question, man, but did I have a heart attack because of the weed? Because I smoked a joint right before the show,'” Smith told the audience. “No. In fact, quite the opposite,” Smith recalled the doctor saying. “That weed saved your life.” Yes, they're the words every stoner dreams of hearing. And we think it's safe “He said, you kept calm…they told you [you] were going through stuff and you kept calm the whole time, so that joint saved your life,” Smith told said.  “I'm putting that on a T-shirt,” the 47-year-old concluded. We're guessing that's one item of merchandise that would prove very popular with Smith's fans.

Thomas Ravenel, Southern Charm Star, Accused of Sexual Assault

Thomas Ravenel, the lead cast member on Bravo’s Southern Charm, is under investigation for sexual assault. According to People Magazine, which broke this disturbing story, real estate Ashley Perkins alleges that the reality star took advantage of her mother back when she went on a date with Ravenel in 2015. Parker says her mother and Ravenel met on the dating app Tinder in October of the aforementioned year and then went out on Christmas Day, about two months later. “We lived in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina. He was going to pick her up and they were going to go out for drinks. She agreed to that.” Parker tells People , adding that she did not witness the alleged incident. She continues as follows: “I helped her get ready – she wore a diamond tennis bracelet on her wrist. Her wrist was fine when she left the house. “He left her voicemail saying he got lost on the way to pick her up. I thought he sounded a little inebriated.” Parker, pictured below with her mother, says Ravenel “changed plans” from the original date agreement as soon as her mom got into his car. He suggested they go see a home he had just had renovated and she agreed. (We should note at this point that Southern Charm airs on Bravo and follows a bunch of rich and spoiled people around. It premiered in March of 2014.) Once inside the home, Ravenel reportedly poured his date a small glass of wine. Upon entering the nanny’s room in the residence, Ravenel “he turned on” my mom, Parker says, detailing her allegations this way: “He pushes my mom onto the nanny’s bed, grabs her wrist with one hand, then he starts trying to pull her pants off. And she’s like ‘No, no, no, stop.’ “He stuck his fingers inside of her vagina as well as her anus. “She told me that he held her hands back with one arm and then pulled his penis out and shoved it in her face.” After her mother screamed “YOU’RE A RAPIST,” Ravenel leaped out, “out of his trance,” Parker says, and left the room. After the alleged attack, Ashley claims Ravenel told Debbie “to get yourself an Uber.” However, Debbie convinced Ravenel to drive her home because she had never taken an Uber before, and he proceeded to berate her on the way there. Parker explains that her mom was acting very “withdrawn” until finally confessing to her daughter what had transpired. According to Ashley, Debbie contacted a friend who was an attorney and described the alleged situation. He advised her to get legal help, she says. Parker says they hired Gloria Allred (who has declined comment) and agreed with Ravenal in “mediation” for a settlement of $200,000. Parker and her mom now live in Florida. She says she has come forward to serve as an inspiration for other victims of sexual assault. “This is bigger than my mom. This is bigger than me. I would like to let… other women know that Thomas is not invincible,” Ashley concludes to People. “Or even just women who are against powerful men and think they can’t do anything. I want them to know, you can. I would like to see him off of Bravo. “I would like for my mom not to have to worry about flipping on the television and seeing his smug mug, flaunting his lifestyle around. It’s bigger than us now. “I’d like to see some good come out of the ugly.” In response to these charges, a lawyer for Ravenel says: My client enjoys a certain degree of fame and unfortunately has become – unfairly – a target for an individual who has, in my opinion, dubious motivations. Ravenel, who was sentenced to 10 months in jail on federal cocaine distribution charges in 2007, has starred on Southern Charm since its premiere in 2014. He shares four-year-old daughter Kensie and two-year-old son Saint with ex-girlfriend Kathryn Dennis.

R. Kelly Accused of Training 14-Year-Old to Be Sex Slave

When we learn new things about how R. Kelly allegedly keeps women in a sex cult and trains them as “pets,” the new information is never pleasant. This time, it’s no exception. One of R. Kelly’s exes has come forward to reveal that, by his own admission, the singer allegedly began “training” at least one woman when she was as young as 14. R. Kelly is infamous for his long history of reports of sexual misconduct, interest in minors, and the reports that he keeps women in a “sex cult.” At this point, the fact that he ever makes music is sort of an afterthought Multiple women have come forward with horror stories about how R. Kelly allegedly grooms and abuses women, sometimes beginning when they are minors. He offers them money to quit their old lives, using his charisma and fame to seduce them into wanting a life with him. From there, things get a lot scarier. R. Kelly reportedly uses physical violence and other abuses, such a the use of starvation as a punishment and cutting off any access to the outside world. The idea of this happening to adults is a nightmare. But one of the women who has now escaped from R. Kelly’s world says that he begins this treatment on some “pets” when they are still children. In a new BBC3 documentary, one of R. Kelly’s exes who has bravely come forward with her horrifying story describes how his alleged grooming begins when girls are very young. The woman, Kitti Jones, describes when she realized this. “I saw that she was dressed like me, that she was saying the things I’d say, and her mannerisms were like mine.” She says that there was much more to it than R. Kelly just having a type . “That’s when it clicked in my head that he had been grooming me to become one of his pets. He calls them his pets.” Kitti says that R. Kelly had this woman “crawl on the floor towards me and perform oral sex on me, and he said, ‘This is my f–king pet, I trained her.’” She says that he eventually bragged to her that he had “trained” this girl since she was just 14. The shocking accusations about R. Kelly surfaced in 2017, but have so far come from adult women — and from their concerned families. Abusers and cult leaders alike know that it’s important to isolate their victims from their families as much as possible and to encourage total dependence upon them. That’s one of many factors, in addition to gradual grooming, that helps them maintain control. That is precisely what R. Kelly is accused of doing. Unfortunately, sometimes law enforcement feels that their hands are tied when victims are adults, because they are likely to tell police that they’re there of their own free will. Yes, even if they’re being starved as punishment for some perceived slight. However, the victimization and sexual exploitation of minors might be easier for law enforcement to address … but, like everything else that R. Kelly is accused of doing to these women, may be very difficult to prove after-the-fact. But this is not in any way the first stomach-churning story that the world has heard about R. Kelly and underage girls. R. Kelly illegally married Aaliyah in 1994, when she was only 15. He had met her when she was only 12. Then, in 2002, a video surfaced that allegedly showed R. Kelly having sex with and then urinating upon an underage girl. When his property was searched by authorities, they recovered multiple images of an underage girl on a camera that was stashed away. In at least some of the images, R. Kelly was allegedly engaged in sex acts with this underage girl. It was reported that this young woman was the same who appeared in the video tape that had surfaced. Ultimately, the charges were dropped, as it was determined that the search warrants had lacked probable cause, rendering all of the findings fruit of the poisonous tree in the eyes of the courts. And, in the end, R. Kelly was found not guilty over charges from the original video. Will any of these charges against R. Kelly be proven? View Slideshow: 21 Celebrities You Probably Want to Keep Away From Your Children It’s hard to say. The more people who come forward, the better the chances are. It’s worth noting that when the sex cult accusations first came out during the summer of 2017, this was months before the #MeToo movement. Perhaps the positive cultural shift against victim-blaming has opened people’s eyes enough that sex monsters can be brought to justice. But it’s hard to imagine how someone groomed to be a sex slave since she was just 14 years old could ever truly recover.

Royal Wedding Invitations: In the Mail! Also in This Article!

That’s it! It’s officially official: Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are getting married. We know, you figured this was official back when Harry proposed to Markle and, in nearly every way, you were correct in this assumption. But proposals can always be taken back; answers can always be changed. The real official way to know whether a couple plans on getting married or not takes place when the invitations go in the mail. There’s just no turning back at that point. So, with that in mind, Kensington Palace was excited to make an announcement on Thursday morning: The invitations are in the mail! “Invitations to the wedding of Prince Harry and Ms. Meghan Markle have been issued in the name of His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales,” the Palace Tweeted today, adding: “Guests have been invited to the service at St George’s Chapel and to the lunchtime reception at St George’s Hall, which is being given by Her Majesty The Queen.” So there we have it. We’ve known for several weeks, of course, that Markle and Harry were getting married on May 19. The date has been circled on our calendar and multiple alarms have already been set to ensure we don’t sleep through the ceremony. But we now know the invitations were produced by Barnard & Westwood, a London-based printing company that has held a royal warrant for printing by appointment for the Queen since 1985 and Prince Charles since 2012. We also know the invitations are stamped in gold and that they feature Charles’ Three Feather Badge. Moreover, the guests’ names have added with a calligraphy printer. How do we know all of this? Because the Palace has also unveiled photos of the invites! EEEK!!!!!!! Clearly aware of the excitement and curiosity surrounding these nuptials, Kensington Palace also let folks in on how invitations were made, posting details and even a short video about the process on Twitter. “Lottie Small, who recently completed her apprenticeship, printed all of the invitations in a process known as die stamping, on a machine from the 1930s that she affectionately nicknamed Maude,” reads the official Royal social media account. The Palace notes that “using American ink on English card, the invitations are printed in gold and black, then burnished to bring out the shine, and gilded around the edge.” Fascinating, right? Almost as fascinating as the possibility that Markle may already be pregnant ! The Prince and the former Suits star confirmed their engagement in November. Since then, they have been making trips around the United Kington to meet local people and help acquaint Meghan with the causes and interests Harry supports. The stars bonded at the outset of their romance over shared charitable interests and endeavors. This invitation insight, meanwhile, arrives two days after the Palace announced that the couple asked Violet Bakery owner Claire Ptak of London to create a lemon elderflower cake for their reception. “I can’t tell you how delighted I am to be chosen to make Prince Harry and Ms. Markle’s wedding cake,” the pastry chef said in a statement, concluding: “Knowing that they really share the same values as I do about food provenance, sustainability, seasonality and most importantly flavor, makes this the most exciting event to be a part of.” No word yet on who Harry will choose as his Best Man. But our money is on Zayn Malik . View Slideshow: Royal Wedding 2.0: All the Exciting Details!

Rob Valletta Opens Up About "Obsessed" Scheana Marie

If you’ve been watching Vanderpump Rules recently, then you know the season’s most compelling storyline revolves around the doomed relationship between Scheana Marie and Rob Valletta . Now, before we go any further, it’s important to note that sometimes, reality stars become the victims of bad editing and are portrayed in a fashion that’s inconsistent with their real life behavior. But that’s not what happened with Scheana. It couldn’t have happened with Scheana. Unless she was forced to read scripted lines at gunpoint, or what we’ve seen all season is a flawless CGI rendering of Scheana, then those words really formed in her brain and came out of her mouth. Which means the aspiring pop star went through a period of time in which she was deeply, troublingly obsessed with Rob Valletta . Fortunately, Valletta got out before coming home to find an al denté pet rabbit waiting for him on the stove. Yes, Rob dumped Scheana just a few months into the relationship that she was so sure would end in marriage. (Homegirl even named their future kids after a few weeks of dating, which we’re pretty sure is literally a scene from that movie where Kate Hudson tries to scare off a pre-McConnaissance McConaughey.) The breakup didn’t surprise anyone, but the fact that Rob hasn’t since changed his name and relocated to the Alps is downright shocking. Not only has Rob decided to roll the dice by remaining in the States, he’s even been openly discussing his breakup on social media. Fortunately, Rob is aware that the first rule of dealing with a potential psychopath is “don’t say anything that might set them off.” Asked by a fan if he’s happy he broke with Scheana, Rob went the diplomatic route, replying: “No one is ever happy when they break up with anyone if they truly care.” That’s good! This dude might have to give up his career in TV wall-mounting to run for office. Rob was considerably more terse (and less truthful) when asked if he believes Scheana was obsessed with him. Rob replied simply, “No.” He went on to dash any hopes for a reconciliation, however, saying that he rarely speaks with Scheana these days. Asked about The Divorce Closet – the website that he planned to launch with Scheana that would enable divorced couples to sell their items online – Rob said he’s planning to go ahead with the project, but Scheana has chosen not to invest. Sadly, he didn’t answer any questions about why the hell divorced couples can’t just sell their sh-t on eBay. Watch Vanderpump Rules online to relive Rob and Scheana’s tumultuous (and often terrifying) relationship. View Slideshow: Scheana Marie: My Split From Mike Shay Has Made Me Stronger!
