Flappy Bird Taken Down From App Stores; Developer "Cannot Take This Anymore"

Flappy Bird, the addictive mobile game that flew to the top of the iPhone and Android app downloads charts in recent months, has now flown the coop. A tweet from the creator suggested that its huge success had become a burden for him personally, despite the insane sums of money he banked. “I am sorry ‘Flappy Bird’ users, 22 hours from now, I will take ‘Flappy Bird’ down,” developer Dong Nguyen wrote Saturday. “I cannot take this anymore.” What is the “this” he’s referring to? Flappy Bird Pulled Nguyen, a Vietnamese developer with a studio called DotGears, did not reply to interviews request, but has previously said that the game “ruined” his “simple life.” “It is not anything related to legal issues,” he said. “I just cannot keep it anymore.” The notoriety for creating the no-frills game, in which players steer a tiny bird through an obstacle course of metal pipes, is not something he ever sought. Although new players can no longer download “Flappy Bird,” the popular game remains playable for those who had already added it to their devices. As of last week, “Flappy Bird” had an average four-star rating from more than 543,000 reviews in the Apple App Store and 228,000 on Android. It reportedly earns $50,000 a DAY in mobile ad sales alone. As the flap over the game being taken down continues, hundreds of phones with “Flappy Bird” installed have appeared on eBay at prices up to $15,000.

Eiza Gonzalez Pictures: Totally Smoking!

Eiza Gonzalez let Liam Hemsworth invade her private place this weekend (if you know what we mean!) and now the singer/actress is having a different kind of privacy invaded by the paparazzi. Yes, the 23-year old is officially the Hot Gossip Get of the moment, having been caught kissing Hemsworth outside his Los Angeles home on Tuesday. And, as a result, she can now kiss her quiet life goodbye, as photographers followed her around Beverly Hills this week and captured Gonzalez taking a cigarette break during a lunch visit with friends. Check out these Eiza Gonzalez pictures now and don’t feel bad for Miley Cyrus: that star has moved on as well.

Aaryn Gries, Spencer Clawson and GinaMarie Zimmerman React to Big Brother Firings

Big Brother 15 has come to an end. Now the fallout has begun. Only after Andy Herren won the $500,000 grand prize awarded to the Big Brother winner did several of his competitors realize the fallout of their actions. Aaryn Gries , Spencer Clawson, Andrea Zuckerman and GinaMarie Zimmerman are speaking out on losing their jobs this summer while on Big Brother . In taking the brunt of the flak from the scandal after referring to several houseguests using racial and gay slurs, model Aaryn was dropped by her agency. With two publicists in tow Wednesday night, Gries addressed her actions: “I definitely was shocked with how serious things were taken,” she told THR . “Some of the things were taken out of context but either way, I definitely regret saying those things. I never wanted to hurt or offend anyone.” “When I realized how I affected people, it made me really think about how I’m going about things. I need to be more cognizant of what I’m doing and saying all the time.” Aaryn Gries said her relationship with her employer was already rocky. “I was on the rocks with the agency before I even came,” she said. “I do have more opportunities, more agencies that are wanting to meet with me that I’m going to meet with [Thursday]. It’s all good. I’m going to move up.” ” I’m thinking about a book ,” she adds. “I’m hoping to help other people learn from my experience and not get themselves into a similar situation. We’ll see.” Aaryn Gries OWNED By Julie Chen GinaMarie Zimmerman, the runner-up on Big Brother lost her job at East Coast USA Pageant Inc. after she too uttered several racial slurs on the show. Following the finale, she voiced regret over some of the “unruly” things that “came out,” saying, “I definitely regret that and [would] take that back if I could. Zimmerman, who lost to Andy Herren by a 7-2 vote Wednesday, called her firing “unfortunate, because pageant’s my whole world and so are the kids.” She elaborated further, she admitted that “it’s a little tear at my heart a little bit because that’s my life. I kind of don’t know what I’m going to do without it.” But she understood why the company did what they did. “I represent me and also the pageant corporation,” she said. “I am a good person and I do have a big heart and I do work really hard no matter what I do.” “I’m always there for them, and hopefully when time passes, they might welcome me back. We just got to wait and see what happens.” Spencer Clawson’s employer, the Union Pacific Railroad, released a statement distancing itself from him following some of his questionable statements. “I hope I continue working for them,” Clawson said. “After this, I’ve got a big mess to clean up back home with my home and maybe some people in my town.” “Hopefully I can handle it with the grace that I handled being up on the block in the house so much. I just got to stay calm, cool and hopefully everything will work out.” “I don’t have any hate in my heart. I try to be a good person.” “I know there were some comments I said that got taken out of context or even the context they were taken may not have been appropriate,” Clawson added. “If I said anything that was bad judgment, I apologize for that. I don’t want anyone to think I hate a particular group of people or I condone a particular activity or behavior.” “I’m kind of a jokester and I talk a lot, and I’m going to say stupid things — and that’s exactly what happened. I can’t blame anybody for it but myself.” “I hope that the good I did this season outweighs the bad.” Big Brother Racist Fight Amanda Zuckerman, a luxury real estate agent, received a rude awakening when she walked out of the house following her eviction on Day 77. She was greeted with resounding boos from the crowd. “Bullying is a very hot topic right now, and it’s viewed differently by different people. I personally don’t feel like I was bullying anyone,” she said. “I played a really strong game and I was loyal to my alliance. I’m a strong woman and that can rub people the wrong way, but that made me a strong competitor.” “I am a strong person. I fight for my clients. I fight for what’s right. In the game you have to be more manipulative about it, but overall, I am a strong woman.” Zuckerman is aware of the “smoothing over” she must do. “I know I’ve offended people and I’m super apologetic for that. [That] definitely wasn’t my intention and I just want to move forward in a positive light.”

Kate Upton: Sports Illustrated Cover Made Me Feel "Terrible," Like a "Toy"

Kate Upton is on top of the world thanks to back-to-back Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue covers, but her status as a sex symbol took some getting used to. The supermodel said at first, she felt objectified and ridiculed. Kate Upton Felt “Terrible” After First SI Cover “After my first Sports Illustrated cover, I just felt terrible about myself for a solid month,” she tells Elle, which the 21-year-old also covers this month. “Every single guy I met was either married or about to be married, and I felt like I was their bachelor present or something. I’m not a toy, I’m a human.” “I’m not here to be used. I am a grown woman, you need to figure your sh-t out,” she added, lamenting that she’s treated like a stereotypical “dumb blonde.” Nowadays, she says she takes this more in stride. “People deal with models like they are children. They think they can pull one over on you. It’s actually funny,” says the beauty and “It Girl” of modeling. “I’m always like, ‘I’m about to pull something on you, and you’re so focused on thinking I’m dumb you’re not even going to know what hit you.” We love that about Kate, that she’s so honest and secure in who she is, which is so much more than any stereotype and refreshing for a model especially. But let’s be real … Kate Upton photos are unreal .

XBox One: Unboxing the New Console!

Whether you are a XBox or Playstation fan, there’s no denying that the new consoles are exciting in their own right. True, there are pros and cons to either side but the fact that it’s next generation time is still exhilarating! There hasn’t been an “official” PS4 unboxing as of yet but today Major Nelson took to his blog to show us the Day 1 Edition of the XBox One. XBox One Day 1 Edition Unboxing Outside of the controller additions (the Day 1 logo and the chrome d-pad) it doesn’t appear that there is much different from this version than the regularly purchased editions.  An updated Kinect, with a wider range so you can use it in any room, better voice control capabilities, 500GB hard drive… all good things. The USB on the side is a little odd but I suppose that isn’t a make or break thing. Plus, a sticker!!! Your move Sony.

Neil Gaiman Video Game: Welcome to Wayward Manor

If the woman attacked by gang of cats story was the funniest of the day so far, this Neil Gaiman story is easily the best. Well, to geeks like myself at least. Legendary writer, Neil Gaiman, is bringing his talents to the world of gaming with  Wayward Manor! Neil Gaiman Video Game Announcement Trailer The quality of storytelling in games has gone in waves through the years. For awhile you’d pick up a game and just couldn’t wait to get to the next chapter to see what happens next in the story. Then there were years where the only option really was to shoot everything in sight. With a writer of Gaiman’s caliber, we have to assume  Wayward Manor would be categorized as the former rather than the latter. While Neil Gaiman and the design company, The Odd Gentlemen, aren’t going through Kickstarter or any other equivalent crowdfunding sites, they do have a collection of rewards for monetary support on the  Wayward Manor website. You can pre-order the game (available on PC and Mac) for $10 and then there are additional items you can purchase such as a t-shirt and lithographs, and even a signed poster. Gaiman calls this a “first part” so there is added incentive to donate as we can hope there is plenty more gaming to come!
