Folks, it's another new low for Farrah Abraham! For reasons that aren't entirely clear, Abraham was in attendance at the 2019 Emmys on Sunday night — and while she didn't drag her 10-year-old daughter along as a red carpet prop like she usually does, she still took advantage of the opportunity to further traumatize poor Sophia. Tik Tok was briefly mentioned during the ceremony, so Farrah decided it would be a perfect time to use the app to post a wildly inappropriate video starring her unfortunate offspring. It was disgusting, there's no doubt about that — but did it cross the line into child abuse? That's what some of Abraham's followers are currently arguing in the comments. Check out the nauseating clip and decide for yourself. 1. Working the Circuit For reasons that aren’t entirely clear, Farrah and Sophia have been invited to a LOT of A-list events in recent weeks. 2. Red Carpet Randos First, they attended the Venice Film Festival together. Hey, maybe Backdoor Teen Mom is considered a cinematic classic in Europe? 3. Pond-Hoppers From there, it was off to New York to attend the launch party for Jenelle Evans’ cosmetics line. Okay, so not all of the events were A-list affairs. 4. How Did This Happen? But the crowning event on Farrah’s recently jam-packed social calendar had to be the 2019 Emmy Awards, which were held in Los Angeles Sunday night. 5. Not at the Cool Kids’ Table As evidenced by this hilariously sad collage she posted on Instagram, Farrah didn’t get close to many stars. In fact, it looked as though she walked an entirely different red carpet. 6. Sunday night's award show for the 2019 Emmys has come and gone, and people are still mocking Kim and Kourtney . But you didn't have to present — or even be there — to find yourself getting mocked by the Emmys crowd. In fact, one absent star in particular was singled out for ridicule. Anybody seen Felicity Huffman? Comedian and Reno 9-1-1 alum Thomas Lennon had some wild commentary for the Emmy Awards, and one bit in particular stood out. “The producers have asked me to give a special shout-out,” Thomas begins. Said shout-out was directed to “any of our previous Lead Actress winners.” Specifically, winners who “are watching tonight from prison.” “Hopefully,” Thomas expresses. “Those two weeks are going to fly right by.” He concludes, saying: “Keep your chin up.” It's no mystery to whom he may have been referring. Felicity has been nominated for multiple Emmys, and took home the award in 2005. Given that she was sentenced to 14 days in prison , he could only have meant her. But … unless Felicity is just super jazzed for reruns of award shows, he may have missed the mark. Felicity is not behind bars, my dude. Not yet. Some folks assumed that when it was announced that Felicity was carted out of the courtroom and tossed directly into her new cell. Maybe these people also imagined her wearing black and white stripes with her ankle shackled to a large iron ball. The reality of the matter is that the wheels of justice move almost as slowly for criminals as they do for those seeking justice. Felicity is already serving part of her court-ordered sentence. But she isn't doing it behind bars. On May 13, Felicity entered her formal guilty plea to the charge of honest services fraud. Four months later, on September 13, she was awarded her sentence of 14 days behind bars. The actual prison sentence does not begin until October 25. She must also pay a small (for her) fine of $30,000 and, upon her release, will be on probation (supervised release) for one year. Felicity has also been ordered to complete 250 hours of community service. Now, Felicity has actually already begun to complete some of her community service hours. While it's smart to get some of it out of the way early, she likely has an ulterior motive. Starting right away on your community service helps show the judge that you are respectful, cooperative, and repentant. Felicity wants to go to a nicer prison that is nearby. If the judge is convinced that she's committed to the straight and narrow, she may get her wish. Only time will tell, however. And the urge to make an example of celebrities can apply to judges just as much as it can to prosecutors. Real talk? Thomas Lennon was taking an easy swipe at her. We don't think that he's personally gloating over her misfortune, even if she deserves it. Most people find her likeable. And in contrast to the depths to which Lori Loughlin sunk, Felicity definitely comes out as the lesser of the two criminals. Yes, she paid someone to take the SAT in her daughter's name to boost her score. It's wrong, but it's not six figures of outright bribes wrong. We somehow doubt that Felicity and her family were tuning in to the Emmys this year, though. They have other things on their minds.
A Louisiana man recently drowned during a beautiful vacation in Tanzania as he proposed to his longtime girlfriend, who never even got the chance to give him her answer. Kenesha Antoine posted a heartbreaking Facebook post on earlier this week that her boyfriend, Steven Weber Jr., died while he popped the big question underwater. “I can’t hold my breath long enough to tell you everything I love about you, but everything I love about you I love more every day,” it reads. First up, Jharrel Jerome’s win for When They See Us made him the youngest person to win an Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Limited Series or Movie as well as the first Afro-Latino to win for acting, Deadline reported . He beat out other nominees Mahershala Ali ( True Detective ), Benicio Del Toro ( Escape at Dannemora ), Hugh Grant ( A Very English Scandal ), Jared Harris ( Chernobyl ) and Sam Rockwell ( Fosse/Verdon ). The 21-year-old earned the coveted trophy for his portrayal of the Exonerated Five-member Korey Wise , who, as a teenager, was wrongfully convicted of the rape and assault of Trisha Meili in 1989. During the young actor’s acceptance speech, he thanked his mother, show creator Ava DuVernay and the five men the limited series was based on. “I feel like I should just be in the Bronx right now, chilling, waiting for my mom’s cooking or something,” Jerome began. “But I’m here in front of my inspirations, I’m here in front of people who I’m so motivated by, and the reason I’m here is because [of] actors like the people I was in the category with. I have to thank my mom, who’s with me today, my beautiful mother. I couldn’t do it without her. My dad… of course Ava [DuVernay, creator of the miniseries], thank you for giving me this opportunity, Netflix, my team… But most importantly, this is for the men that we know as the Exonerated Five. BROWN / Getty Pose’s Billy Porter also had the crowd on their feet when Kerry Washington read his name of the winning envelope for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series. The Tony winner became the first openly gay Black man to win an Emmy in the Lead Actor category. Porter plays the iconic Pray Tell, on the hit FX show, which is set in New York City’s ball scene during the 1980s and ’90s at the height of the AIDS epidemic. He stars alongside Mj Rodriguez , Indya Moore , Dominique Jackson , Angelica Ross , and Hailie Sahar , the largest cast of trans actors on a TV show in history. “I am so overwhelmed and I am so overjoyed to have lived long enough to see this day,” the 50-year-old began, quoting James Baldwin : “It took many years of vomiting up the filth I was taught about myself and halfway believed before I could walk around this Earth like I had a right to be here.” “I have the right,” Porter continued. “You have the right. We all have the right.” After thanking his team, the Pose cast and co-creator Ryan Murphy , Porter urged the crowd to keep working to change “hearts and minds.” “We are the people, we as artists are the people that get to change the molecular structure of the hearts and minds of the people who live on this planet. Please don’t ever stop doing that. Please don’t ever stop telling the truth. I love you all. They’re telling me to please stop. God bless you. God bless you. If I forget anybody, I’m sorry. I love you all.” Backstage, the Tony, Grammy, and now Emmy winner got emotional when talking about the importance of LGBTQ people seeing themselves on television. “Visibility and representation are the only things that create change. It’s when we are visible that we have the power to create empathy through the way we tell stories. Being black and gay and out and being in this position and speaking from where I get to speak from is the change,” Porter said.
