The thrice unlucky-in-love franchise mainstay is set to make his debut as The Bachelor, and ABC has just released its premiere date … A perfect cure for your hangover, the Wisconsinite will dole out roses at the mansion beginning with a two-hour episode Monday, January 2. New year, new Bachelor. Same … Nick Viall? One can only hope his fortunes will change this time around, having been dumped by Andi Dorfman and Kaitlyn Bristowe on The Bachelorette . Yes, Nick made it all the way into the finale – and the pants of the aforementioned brunettes – of two different seasons of the reality hit. Only to be dispatched on both. That’s some cold s–t. The Bachelor Promo: Hello, Nick Viall! He also made a run at love on Bachelor in Paradise , only to lose his girl to Josh Murray (Andi’s final rose winner) a second time. Cruel. Now the roses are in his hands, though! Literally. According to an ABC release announcing the premiere, Nick is “back stronger than ever, ready and eager to begin his search for true love.” “After all these years, and all the heartbreak, it’s finally Nick’s turn to hand out the roses. Will he finally find that love he’s craved?” “He believes in finding love on the series.” Clearly. Fourth time’s the charm! Fans were stunned when ABC named Nick Viall The Bachelor in August, as he seemed like a total mismatch to carry the 21st season. After all … haven’t we been there and done that? Especially with JoJo Fletcher suitors Luke Pell or Chase McNary waiting in the wings, few if anyone thought Nick would get the job. That includes Nick himself, to hear him describe it. Chris Harrison, who will of course be returning for a 21st season at the helm, says that at the end of the day, fans need to chill because: 1. The producers knows what they’re doing. 2. Nick is actually an awesome guy! “Look, the good news is it’s worked for him. He has fallen in love on this show and he has sincerely tried to make it work,” Chris said. “Unfortunately, he’s just come up a little bit short each time.” “He’s done his part, he will give himself to this process.” “He is that sincere guy who really does want to make this work,” the host said, adding that Viall was simply the best candidate. “Again, at the end of the day this wasn’t an indictment on Luke or Chase as much as it was more of a compliment to Nick.” You buying what Chris is selling? Ronda Rousey is arguably the only true household names to emerge from the world of MMA fighting thus far. As the fighter who’s done more than anyone else to help gain mainstream acceptance for what many once regarded as a fringe bloodsport, Rousey is invaluable to the UFC brand. Which is why an announcement that she made today on the Ellen show is likely being met with dismay by the league’s execs: Ronda Rousey: Retiring From UFC?! In the interview, which airs in syndication today, Rousey discusses her upcoming fight with Amanda Nunes – and reveals that she won’t be stepping into the octagon for much longer: “Not that long,” Rousey says, when asked about how much time is left in her fighting career. “I’m wrapping it up. This is definitely one of my last fights. Everyone better watch.” Though Rousey is unquestionably the sport’s best-known figure, her career has not been without its ups and downs. The Nunes fight on December 31 is being viewed as something of a must-win comeback bout for the 29-year-old Rousey, Rousey lost to Holly Holm in an embarrassing defeat that cost her the women’s bantamweight championship last November. Following the first defeat of her professional career Rousey fell into a deep depression and required corrective surgery to repair the damage caused by blows to the face. Those days appear to be behind the fighter now, and she seems to be single-mindedly focused on defeating Nunes. Well, almost single-mindedly. Rousey took a moment to fire a quick jab at Donald Trump during her sit-down with Ellen. As you may recall Trump falsely claimed that Rousey supported him early in his run for the White House. Rousey corrected him, which led the candidate to slam her on Twitter, as he’s wont to do. Interestingly, Holly Holm is an outspoken Trump supporter. Should make the inevitable rematch between Ronda and Holly even more exciting!
The Real Housewives of Atlanta was responsible for the demise of Kordell Stewart’s marriage, the NFL alumnus says in his new memoir. Well, that and the minor detail that he was married to Porsha Williams. Kordell was married to Porsha for just two years before it unraveled, as you know if you watch The Real Housewives of Atlanta online . Why? People watching The Real Housewives of Atlanta , according to him. It’s not that the show single-handedly wrecked something amazing, but it didn’t help, making a tough situation demonstrably terrible. “As I unlocked the doors and allowed Bravo’s camera crews into our house and our lives,” he writes, everything began to fall apart. “All existing problems in our marriage seemed to be brought to light.” The 44-year-old former Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback is delving into the split in the forthcoming Truth: The Kordell Stewart Story . “Over time,” he writes, “I felt like my only choice was to file for divorce.” A single dad to pre-teen son Syre, he also accuses the series’ “lifestyle” of having a “negative impact” on his “young, impressionable” boy. We don’t doubt that it did for one minute, but … had he never heard of Bravo, or the Real Housewives franchise, before signing up? According to Stewart, divorce in the spotlight can get very, very ugly. “The show made the divorce worse , but I chose to keep my mouth shut,” he says of his breakup with the mercurial, combative Porsha. “Whenever you see people running their mouths about things, it’s difficult, especially when those things are not true,” he says. “But the reality is that I have a child who is more important than a foolish reality TV show and people who are trying to make themselves relevant.” Now, without Williams, “my family is ten times better,” he adds. “I can be around my son and have the right, positive energy.” Of course, drama – and Kordell Stewart gay rumors – followed the Colorado Buffaloes collegiate standout long after his divorce was finalized. Porsha Williams herself hinted at his sexual orientation being something of a gray area, claiming her ex-husband didn’t want to have sex. Yes, sure, you may dress like an old lady sometimes and like the insides of the human body at other times, but 10-year old Gage DeVader went out this year for the holiday as Donald Trump. Sorry, not Donald Trump. That costume idea would not be remotely original in 2016. He went out as Donald Trump’s HAIR. The costume was designed by the boy’s mother, Jessica DeVader, and it has become the talk of the Internet. DeVader, who hails from Kansas, told BuzzFeed that she glued fake grass table skirts in sections around an umbrella to achieve the perfect comb-over look. It really is amazing. Here’s a snapshot from the back: The enormous Make America Great Again baseball cap? Which is the icing on this creative sundae? It was constructed out of three sheets of poster board. And if you study these photos closely enough, you’ll see another wrinkle Jessica threw in to honor Trump. Although honor may be the wrong word choice here… “Gage’s shirt pays homage to Trump’s orange face!” DeVader says. This isn’t the first Halloween that Gage has gone all out for Halloween, either. “I would say our fun with Halloween began from the start,” DeVader told Buzzfeed. “I just wanted my son to learn to embrace his uniqueness and individuality. “Every year we come up with a ridiculous idea and he just goes for it!” Like that time he went as a Sharknado: And that time he went as Zoltar, the fortune telling amusement park game from the movie Big: “He’s such a fun kid with a great personality. A slight damper was placed on Halloween this year for the Kardashians and Jenners. Why? Because Kim Kardashian did not get dressed up and hit the town. Over the years, Kim had rocked some memorable Halloween costumes , sometimes more than one per holiday. But she’s still recovering from the trauma of this month’s armed robbery in Paris, avoiding the press and the public in general. We don’t blame her. Fortunately, Khloe Kardashian, Kourtney Kardashian and Kylie Jenner stopped up their costume games in Kim’s absence over the weekend. First, there was Khloe, who stirred up quite a literal Storm on Saturday night, going to a party dressed as the X-Men character made famous by Halle Berry. Justin Bieber has this new thing, don’t know if you’ve heard about it, where he is extremely rude to his fans that pay good money to hear him sing his songs in concert. It’s all very disappointing, but hey, it is Justin Bieber that we’re talking about. In one concert earlier this month, Justin got his feelings hurt when he was trying to tell a story and his fans wouldn’t stop freaking out about his existence. “Can you guys do me a favor?” he asked. “Can you guys relax for about two seconds?” “I get it, I get it,” he said, “but I’m like two feet away from you. And I can hear you.” “I appreciate all the love, it’s amazing, but can you show it in a different way? Screaming is just so obnoxious.” He asked his fans that “if you could just scream after the song, enjoy the song, and then take a chill pill for a second and listen to me speak.” Poor Justin complained that “I don’t feel like I’m being heard sometimes, and it gets a little frustrating.” Aww, what a sad, sad story, huh? But just wait, because it gets worse. A couple of days after Justin went on this rant, he went on another for the same reason: because he was trying to talk, and people were too excited to be silent . “I’ll just get to singing,” he told his fans with anger in his voice and rage in his heart. Justin Bieber Tells Off Crowd “I don’t mind cutting the bullsh-t because I don’t need to talk. I’m just trying to engage, but if you guys don’t want to do that then we can just play the music.” And then, a couple of days after that , this vicious cycle repeated itself. “I appreciate all the support, I appreciate love, I appreciate the kind things,” he scolded his fans . “But the screaming in these breaks has got to stop. Please and thank you.” “I don’t think it’s necessary,” he went on, “when I’m trying to say something and you guys are screaming. I feel like I wanna connect with you.” “The point of the no-screaming thing is that when I’m looking at you in the eyes you know that we’re actually having a moment and having a connection.” Justin Bieber Storms Off Stage What does Justin keep expecting to happen? He keeps saying that he wants to have a connection and he wants to be heard, but he’s playing concerts to thousands of people. There’s no way for them to have any kind of real exchange. Hence the screaming. It seems like a pretty simple problem to understand, but Justin is still struggling with it. He even wrote this long note on Twitter to try to express his feelings. But be warned: it’s real douchey. “People tend to want to shut you down,” he began. “What I mean by that is … people try to twist things, some people don’t want to listen.” “But I simply feel like, if I didn’t use this platform to say how I truly feel, and if I didn’t use this platform to be the man that I know I am, and speak from what’s in my heart, then I’m doing myself injustice, and I’m not doing anybody in this audience any justice.” “There’s going to be times where I say the wrong thing, because I’m human. But I don’t pretend to be perfect and I hope to God that, you know, I don’t say the right thing all the time because if that was the case then I’d be a robot, and I’m just, I’m not a robot.” “There’s times when I get upset … times when I get angry, there’s times when I’m going to be myself on this stage.” “When people try to twist things and say, ‘Justin’s angry at his fans. He doesn’t want his fans to scream’ that’s not at all what I was doing.” “All I was simply doing was wanting people to listen; to kind of hear me out a little bit. Certain people … certain cities aren’t going to want to hear me out, and you know, sometimes it’s my job to just say, ‘hey, I’m not going to try to force anything.'” “I just appreciate you guys tonight, listening to me and understand, and rocking with me. You guys are truly amazing.” So it sounds like he finally got a crowd to listen when he told them not to scream. It only took three immature, insulting rants and losing a whole lot of fans to do it. Well, it lent even more credence to the rumors that Kylie’s got some kind of manual pump in her front pocket that blows that ass up to magical proportions. Honestly, what even is that?
