These days, there's a lot of crazy stuff going on The Land — that patch of sinking prefab outbuildings that Teen Mom 2 star Jenelle Evans and her husband, David Eason, weirdly take a tremendous amount of pride in. We know, there's always crazy stuff going on in Jenelle and David's lives, but lately, these two have really been outdoing themselves. There have been assault accusations, use of heavy artillery, and visits from the Secret Service . But just when we think Jenelle and David have participated in every kind of bonkers behavior imaginable, they go and surprise us with something completely out of left field. Something like this week's bizarre video in which David spanks Jenelle while the two of them get soused in broad daylight. Take a look: 1. The Easons Saying that Jenelle and David are a bit of an odd couple would be putting it very, very mildly. 2. Strange Times on The Land The Easons have always attracted the attention of CPS, local law enforcement, and millions of TM2 fans who think MTV subsidizing an abusive situation. 3. Too Much Time on His Hands These days, Eason is creeping up on a year of unemployment, having been canned by MTV following a homophobic social media tirade back in February of 2018. 4. Acting Out And unfortunately, during that time, he’s devoted himself to two main pursuits — spending Jenelle’s money and thirsting for attention on social media. 5. The Theory Some folks think David resents Jenelle’s role as the household’s sole breadwinner and that he’s trying to get her fired from Teen Mom 2. 6. Too Much Credit We don’t think there’s that much going on in David’s skull, however. In fact, we’re pretty sure he’s just doing whatever he can to score the attention of the masses. Dr. Windell Boutte first made headlines last June when a video was released of her dancing to “Cut It” while performing surgery on a patient. She was then hit with several malpractice lawsuits and agreed to give up her medical license for 2.5 years. WSBTV now reports that 10 new lawsuits have surfaced and a second doctor is now caught up in the case. Licensed anesthesiologist Dr. Roland Pinkney is named in the case after he was seen alongside the dancing doc pointing to an incision area without gloves. According to Pinkney he was shocked to see Dr. Boutte actually make an incision. “It was not supposed to be surgery being performed. When that happened, I said, ‘Back down,’” he said. The patient in that video Latoya Rideau, filed a lawsuit Thursday morning and spoke to WSBTV via an attorney. “I certainly don’t think he gets to pick and choose when he’s a doctor in that procedure, and he certainly shouldn’t have sat back when silent while he was watching all of this going on,” said Rideau’s attorney, Susan Witt. As previously reported Boutte’s patients claimed they suffered infections, disfigurement, even brain damage following procedures. She’s also faced criticism for performing cosmetic procedures such as breast augmentation and butt lifts whole only being a dermatologist. Last year she defended herself on GMA. “I've done nothing wrong.” The “Dancing Doctor” defends her music videos after her medical license gets suspended amid allegations she harmed patients. @SteveOsunsami has the story: pic.twitter.com/QZrZouQ6A5 — Good Morning America (@GMA) June 8, 2018 What should happen to the “dancing doctor” and her alleged anesthesiologist accomplice? Source: RADOSLAW KOLESNIK / Getty Five Teenagers Were Killed In An Escape Room After A Fire Erupted Five teenage girls were killed–and one man was injured–in a fire that broke out in an “escape room” venue in northern Poland, according to authorities on Saturday. The 15-year-old girls were said to be celebrating one of their birthdays in the town of Koszalin when the fire encircled the venue at around 5 PM. Local firefighters revealed that the incident was likely the result of faulty electrical wiring in addition to a lack of proper security. Poland’s firefighting chief, Leszek Suski, explained that the wiring was in dangerously close proximity to flammable materials saying, “Security was not ensured and that led to the tragedy.” Interior Minister Joachim Brudzinski has reportedly issued fire safety tests at other similar venues following this tragic incident. The president also shared his condolences on Saturday, calling the incident a “crushing tragedy.” The girls’ bodies were reportedly found once local firefighters had extinguished the blaze. In addition to the death of these girls, an injured 25-year-old man was taken to the hospital for severe burns following the incident. If you aren’t already familiar with escape rooms, this probably isn’t the best time to tell you to go. Escape rooms have become increasingly popular around the world after first originating in Japan. The experience is an in-person simulated adventure where players are made to feel endangered, as if they’re trapped. Participants are typically locked inside a room and asked to complete puzzles and different intricate tasks under pressures to exit. There are said to be over 1,000 similar venues across Poland.
Source: Mary Knox Merrill / Getty She Really Tried It A 32-year-old woman was clearly up to no good when she pretended to be a homeless teen so she could enroll in high school classes. According to WNYT.com , Michaelann Goodrich told the Cairo-Durham School District in New York that she was a 15-year-old named Riley Madison. She reportedly attended one day of high school classes and even rode the bus to and from school on December 20th. She was absent on the 21st and then the holiday break began the next week. Authorities arrested Goodrich on the 28th and charged her with offering a false instrument for filing, falsifying business records and criminal trespassing. Investigators are still unsure of how Goodrich was able to enroll in classes in the first place. District Superintendent Anthony Taibi said administrators immediately felt something wasn’t right. “She could’ve gone in numerous different ways to obtain a degree and we actually found out through the investigation and that she has a high school diploma,” he said. “So that just leads to our investigation to try to figure out what exactly her motive was for attending school.” According to Taibi, the district had to admit Goodrich into the school immediately under the McKinney-Vento Act because she was homeless. Parents in the neighborhood were obviously distraught when they found out about the over-aged high school attendee. “It was kind of unnerving, it could’ve been anybody you know you hear about school shootings all that, could’ve been anybody coming in here trying to get plans of the school,” said Joshua Mack, who has a daughter in middle school. “I mean obviously that wasn’t the case but it could’ve been.” Taibi said that the McKinney-Vento Act should probably be re-assessed after a situation where non-teens can slip through the cracks. Mack agreed with the sentiment. “I don’t know maybe they need to look into the act a little better maybe find out–not throw her in school right away, find out where she came from, find out what’s going on with the family and everything,” Mack said. The case surrounding Goodrich is still active and investigators are asking anyone who may have had contact with Goodrich to contact the Greene County Sheriff’s Office.
Netflix’s hit film Bird Box took viewers and Twitter by storm and spawned hilarious memes . Unfortunately, it also inspired the Bird Box Challenge, in which people film themselves blindfolded. This is so dangerous that Netflix has put out a PSA begging people to not deliberately blind themselves. Bird Box was a hit on Netflix during this holiday season. It was thrilling and compelling and Sandra Bullock is, as always, an inspired casting choice. Unfortunately, there is such a thing as too much of a good thing, as evidenced by people participating in the “Bird Box Challenge.” In the film, the characters must wear blindfolds most of the time in order to avoid being driven to kill themselves by violent apparitions. Some Netflix viewers with too much time on their hands decided to “challenge” themselves to navigate while blindfolded. Whether it’s in their homes or outdoors, the results tend to be either boring, messy, or dangerous. Putting on a blindfold does not magically transform you into the titular character of Daredevil . In fact, outside of the bedroom, it usually just leads to injuries. This is so bad that Netflix themselves have stepped in on social media. In a tweet on Wednesday, Netflix implored their followers to let this trend die as quickly as it sprang into being. “Can’t believe I have to say this,” the tweet begins. “But: PLEASE DO NOT HURT YOURSELVES WITH THIS BIRD BOX CHALLENGE.” “We don’t know how this started,” Netflix says. “And we appreciate the love,” “But Boy and Girl have just one wish for 2019,” the tweet reads. Netflix concludes: “and it is that you not end up in the hospital due to memes.” That’s a pretty good wish. Unlike actual memes, which involve photos and videos and are usually harmless, challenge culture can be dangerous. Popular on video-sharing sites and especially on YouTube, people vie for social media clout by emulating others. The pressure to make your video not only watchable but sensational — in the hopes of going viral — can be dangerous. Participants — especially teens, but also grown-ass adults — can and do endanger themselves in their desperate effort for clicks. Viral fame can transform someone’s life, so they’re willing to risk it all. But you know what else can change your life? A life-altering injury . It’s right there in the name. This of course brings to mind a challenge that was passed around in January of 2018. Harmless memes shared on social media about forbidden snacks — household items that people had resisted eating as children — spawned a challenge. The Tide Pod Challenge was mostly an inflated joke, as people would edit videos to make it appear that they ate laundry detergent. There were people who, perhaps not realizing that the videos were edited, were not in on the joke. A few people tried to earn social media clout by actually putting tide pods into their mouths. Though only a handful of people genuinely participated, we would remind members of the TGH Nation: please do not ingest bleach. Just as you would not ingest dish soap in the hopes of racking up YouTube views, please do not participate in the Bird Box challenge. We don’t know how many people are actually doing it and how many are filming themselves acting out rehearsed blunders. Regardless, actually depriving yourself of eyesight for fun is just a recipe for disaster. Head injuries are no joke. And quite frankly, neither is a stubbed toe. If you are lucky enough to have eyesight, use it to navigate your world safely. Not everyone is so lucky. View Slideshow: Bird Box Memes Hilariously Take Over Twitter
