Source: Jeff Hahne / Getty J. Cole And Bryson Tiller Sued By Producer G-Money J. Cole and Bryson Tiller are both have an infringement lawsuit on their hands. According to reports from The Blast , these two have been accused of stealing an instrumental created by a producer named G-Money. He claims that Cole and Tiller ripped off his 2013 record “Shawty So Cold” for their respective cuts of their songs “Déjà Vu” and “Exchange.” G-Money—whose legal name is Gary Frisby—made these same accusations several years ago when he uploaded a 2017 YouTube video in 2017, explaining the similarities between the records mentioned above. G-Money’s suit states Cole and Tiller’s songs feature “the same kick pattern, snare pattern, FX swell, and vocal strike.” and that “the substantial similarities between the three songs are of no coincidence.” Cole’s song “DejàVu” appeared on his 2016 album 4 Your Eyez Only, while Tiller’s “Exchange” was featured on his 2015 debut studio album Trapsoul . The producer is seeking now $150,000 per infringement, as well as an injunction that would prevent Cole and Tiller from continuing to profit off his material. Sony, RCA Records, and Roc Nation are all listed as co-defendants. The drama between the origins of these particular songs is nothing new. The producers of “Déjà Vu” and “Exchange” have also accused each other of stealing this particular beat in the past. Back in 2016, Vinylz and Boi-1da (the ones who produced “Déjà Vu”) accused Foreign Teck of ripping them off when he created “Exchange”–even though Tiller’s track was released months before Cole’s record.

Source: Hill Street Studios / Getty This student is going viral for the absolutely perfect way he handled an awkward situation in the classroom, calling out his teacher for using the n-word twice during a presentation to his class. 23-year-old Maleek Eid is a marketing student at College of the Desert in Palm Desert. His English class was using Martin Luther King Jr.’s “Letter from Birmingham Jail” as an example for annotation when white his professor used the opportunity to drop the n-word word. “She said ‘they used to use words like…’ and she said the n-word,” Eid told BuzzFeed News about how the situation in the classroom went down.. “I didn’t say anything, I was actually so shocked.” He continued to explain that the same teacher used the word once again a week later in a similar context. “So I was like, that’s strike two, and strike one didn’t sit well with me already.” That’s when Maleek knew something had to be done–and he would have to be the one to do it. Eid–who is Palestinian–said the word didn’t seem to register as wrong or innapropriate with the rest of the students, none of whom are black. According to statistics via the 2010 census, less than 2% of Palm Desert residents are black. This upset student was already planning on reporting this incident to the school, but then, the professor assigned an opposing arguments assignment where students would have to tackle a controversial subject. With the memory of his teacher spewing the racial slur fresh in his mind, Maleek knew exactly what argument he was going to do his project on. That’s when Eid made a presentation countering arguments that many non-black people make in favor of using the n-word, calling out the professor in the process. He ended up recording parts of his presentation, including audio of his teacher’s reactions when she was called out for her contribution to continued use of the harmful word. THREAD: My professor used the N-word twice. So I called her out as my project. (Open thread for reaction) pic.twitter.com/gozbDx5tMq — Maleek Eid (@AbuYoshi) March 4, 2019 According to Maleek, the professor remained silent through the presentation, but defended herself and her use of the word thereafter. “I said the word because I wanted a response, I wanted someone to say, ‘that’s wrong to say that’ or ‘I take offense to that,’” the professor says. “Sometimes when we’re discussing things and you’re all sitting there going” — she made snoring sounds — “kind of thing, sometimes somebody’s gotta shake you up.” Eid was quick to shoot down that strategy, saying, “If the solution to getting your class to snap up is using the n-word then you need different strategies.” REACTION PART 1: My professor’s reaction to being called out for using the N-word twice. pic.twitter.com/ckwwM65GT2 — Maleek Eid (@AbuYoshi) March 4, 2019 The school responded to BuzzFeed News ‘ request for comment saying the following: “College of the Desert’s core values are based on inclusiveness and diversity in all forms, including academic freedom for both students and faculty,” said Pamela Hunter, executive director of institutional advancement for the college.. “It is the policy of the Desert Community College District to recognize the importance of academic freedom in pursuit of academic excellence for both faculty and students. We embrace diversity in all forms and the right of all people to have access to quality higher education in a safe and respectful learning environment.” Maleek and his professor continued to debate the subject following his presentation, talking about the situation both in the classroom and during a break one-on-one. According to Eid, his fellow students were unsupportive of his stance, either ignoring the situation or giggling, which he said it left him feeling quite depressed. But the response to his threat on Twitter has brought the opposite response, with most people praising Eid for standing up against his professor and sticking his neck out for what’s right. pic.twitter.com/2gbCjtJuPl — ig: @spillled (@spilllings) March 4, 2019 Your whole class is rude and insensitive and I’m glad you felt the need to not only call the professor out but also call them out on their laughing and chuckling. commendable actions — Kae (@OhItsJustKaelyn) March 5, 2019

Is fighting over crab legs a new trend that we somehow missed? For the second time this year, videos and stories of folks scrapping over seafood have gone viral. A new video is making its rounds on the Internet of a brawl that went down inside a Queens Buffet last month with at least ten people punching and fighting a couple allegedly over crab legs. In the 10-minute clip posted by customer Donna Brown , you can hear her saying, “They throwing glass around. This is getting real now. My people are so ignorant over food. Over food. Crab legs, yo. You can’t make this up. You can’t make this up at all. You can’t make this up. I can’t believe it.” According to police : A 30-year-old man and a female companion, 22, were sitting and eating when a group of up to 10 people started punching and kicking them in the face and body, causing swelling and pain. Just last week, police arrested John Chapman and Chequita Jenkins who allegedly used tongs to fight each other at an Alabama buffett over crab legs. You ever had seafood so good that it made you want smoke with whoever crossed your path?

The infuriating part is that you KNOW these same people voted for Donald Trump who is a card-carrying racist and has been accused of sexual assault by NUMEROUS women. SEE ALSO: Colin Kaepernick And Eric Reid Reportedly Win Big In NFL Settlement Guess that’s not offensive. “We were getting parents complaining and everybody, and we just thought we have to put an end to this,” said Mike Riley, Charlotte County School District spokesperson. “It was a lose, lose situation for us.” No. No, no, no, no, no. It wasn’t a lose-lose. It was an opportunity to tell those stale soup cookies to STFU and mind their white a$$ business. These are the same white people who cherry-pick the parts of Martin Luther King Jr.’s legacy that they find palpable but act oblivious to the fact that MLK clearly would have been in full support of Kaep’s form of protest. Junior Jaidyn Etheart believes that social media played a big part in the caucasian outrage: “I believe these boys from our school saw it, took a picture of it and put it on Snapchat, and said it was offensive,” Etheart said. Sara Romweber was a legendary drummer who played with Let’s Active, Snatches of Pink, and of course with the Dex Romweber Duo. She has now died of a brain tumor. The beloved musician was 55 years old. Romweber has been well-known for years in North Carolina’s thriving indie music scene. But she also made her break into mainstream music recognition. She was part of the ’80s-era trio Let’s Active, which was led by early R.E.M. coproducer Mitch Easter. That power-pop group enjoyed a great deal of success on college radio charts. The trio opened for R.E.M. and other acts. Romweber specifically played on Afoot , Let’s Active’s 1983 debut EP and Cypress , their 1984 album. Let’s Active received critical praise, but only limited commercial success. The trio’s 1984 song, “Every Word Means No,” has been described by Billboard as a “quintessential gem” of the time period. Not every band manages to produce a song that endures through the ages as representative of the era. In particular, Let’s Active was praised for its hooks and cleverly skewed lyrics. Mitch Easter stated that he would write songs and hand them off to Romweber, who would figure out how to make them work musically. Romweber’s musical legacy was not limited to Let’s Active, however. She joined he Winston-Salem area group, Snatches of Pink, which is a hell of a band name. More recently, she teamed up with her younger brother, Dexter. Together, they formed the Dex Romweber Duo. From 2009 to 2014, they released four albums. That included collaborating with Jack White on a single, “The Wind Did Move.” American musician and label owner Ralph Lee “Mac” McCaughan took to Instagram to eulogize Romweber. “Sara Romweber was one of the kindest, most unique, & inspiring people i’ve known & she passed away yesterday,” he begins. “She was so important to me that i wrote a paper about her my freshman year in college,” he shares. He continues: “The Romweber home on Pine St in Carrboro was open to everyone & the heart of a musical community.” Mac notes that “you can see some of this in the episode of ‘IRS The Cutting Edge’ if it’s on anywhere.” View Slideshow: Celebrities Who Died in 2019: In Memoriam Mac’s post continues as he praises her brilliance as a drummer. “A fantastically powerful and creative drummer,” he describes her. Mac expresses: “watching her play was a joy no matter what band.” “And,” he says. “I’ll be listening to these masterpieces this morning.” He concludes that he will be “thinking about Sara and her family.”
Joe and Kendra Duggar have finally joined Instagram! And they’re probably regretting their decision right about now. It only took about five seconds before cruel social media users began shunning the young parents. Joe’s sister, Jinger (Duggar) Vuolo welcomed the two to IG by posting an adorable photo of their family, but rather than fans celebrating the news, they took to the comment section with questions about baby Garrett’s health. Jinger shared the photo with her brother and sister-in-law captioning it “Welcome to Instagram Joe and Kendra!” and linked their fans to their page @littleduggarfamily. The parents of 8-month-old Garrett joined Insta last week and shared a cute photo of their little guy. Saying, “We finally decided to get social media! Still trying to figure out how it works. Looking forward to keeping y’all updated on our little family.” Remind you, Kendra and Joe are only 20-years-old — not 50 — and should be well aware of social media’s functions. But their followers’ petty concerns flooded in about innocent, little Garrett (and not his parent’s late arrival to the IG party). Several users commented on his eyes asking, “Does Garrett have a lazy eye?” Followers also noted on the way the baby holds his head at a slight tilt. One user shared her undesired motherly advice writing, “It really looks like he needs a helmet not being rude or mean my child had one and i can see in the other pic this needs to be addressed i hope someone close can tell them. He probably favored a side and has a flat head which causes eye to be off.” Another added, “Adorable. But please, please have him checked for hydrocephalus.” And as crazy as the Duggars are , they do believe in Western medicine. So if there is a medical concern regarding Garrett, we’re sure the mom is on top of it with her pediatrician. You know, a real doctor. Not Instagram trolls who believe they have the ability to diagnose everything and everyone. One user, who must be trusted due to her name @hotmessmom wrote, “Garrett has torticollis, he needs pt. It only takes a few times to fix it.” According to healthline.com, torticollis is also known as “wry neck,” and occurs when “the top of the head generally tilts to one side.” Other people chimed in agreeing with the medical examinations. “Yes my baby girl had Torticollis too. I noticed it in Garrett right away,” wrote yet another mom. Thankfully, there are always the good guys of the internet. One user wrote, “I have an idea for people, unless you have MD after your name and are this families physician then keep your mouth shut. They aren’t asking for medical advice from random people…Now that being said, those babies are the cutest!!!” We wouldn’t be surprised if the young couple trashes their new Insta account any day now. But here’s to hoping they continue to share sweet pics of their little boy, keeping us updated on their adventure into parenthood! In the wake of Luke Perry’s tragic death on Monday, countless celebrities have paid tribute to the last star. Each has been legitimate and heartfelt, of course, but most have also simply rundown the same sentiments of sadness and shock. This is why Colin Hanks and the story he has shared on Instagram truly stands out. The actor has found a way to not only honor what sort of man Perry was… … but also to make followers laugh out loud and to realize that Perry was just as cool in real life as he was while portraying Dylan McKay on Beverly Hills, 90210. “I only met him once but the story is too good not tell given todays sad events,” Hanks wrote late yesterday, teasing the incredible tale he was about to share. He then dove right into it as follows: “My wife and I are on a plane back from Mexico. Couple of rows ahead of us, these two brothers, young kids, are beating the hell out of each other. Their poor parents are powerless to stop the crying, yelling and screaming. “If you’re a parent you understand. Sometimes there’s nothing you can do. It was like this for close to two hours.” Yup. We’ve certainly been there. Go on, Colin… Then about 10 minutes before landing it starts to get real bad. Out of no where, a man comes from first class. Hat, beard, sunglasses, blowing up a balloon. He ties it off, hands it off like he’s holding out a sword to a king. Kneeling, Head down, arms up. Kids calm down in milliseconds. Plane damn near bursts into applause. 15 minutes longer and it probably would have started WWIII, but we landed before that could happen. As we post Hanks’ story about Perry, we’re also gonna post a few more stories about Perry that have gone viral in the day since his passing. For instance: Back to Hanks now, though: We get off the plane, are waiting on line in customs. Finally get a good look at the guy and I say to my wife “Holy shit. I think that balloon man/hero” is Luke Perry”. As luck would have it we end up standing next to each other. And now another amazing story about Perry: Again, back to Hanks: Out of the blue he turns to me and says some kind words about Fargo, which kinda blew my mind. I start singing his praises about how long I’ve admired him and also about the move with the balloon. ” That’s a pro move! You can’t teach that!” I say. He tells me he always flies with a couple of balloons for that very reason, to give to screaming kids. Don’t know if that’s true, but have no reason to believe it wasn’t. And now another incredible story about Perry: This is how Hanks concluded his message: Guy seemed like a true gent. Gone way too damn soon. Also, I’ll be damned if I don’t start traveling with some spare balloons. Wow, right? Just…. wow. It’s sad any time we lose an icon, someone whose career made us smile or cry or simply sit up in appreciation. But it really does sound like we lost an original in Luke Perry. Just an all-around great and decent and awesome guy. Here’s a look at what others stars have said about him: View Slideshow: Luke Perry: Mourned, Remembered by Co-Stars and Friends
