Money Mitt’s Taxes Finally Released!!! Homeboy And His Boo-Thang Ann Made $14 Mil Last Year!!

Well it took long enough!!! And even though Robney’s shady azz released them to the public, the dude still gets a side-eye from us because what millionaire Presidential Candidate doesn’t have his prior year taxes wrapped up before April 15th like the majority of us normal folk?!?! Here’s the breakdown on Money Mitts numbers: The Robneys earned $13.69 million in 2011, mostly income from his investments, and paid $1.9 million in taxes for an effective tax rate of 14.1 percent. Romney earned $6.8 million from capital gains and another $3.6 million in interest. ZERO percent of his income came from wages which, you know, is the primary source of income for most Americans. Capital gains are taxed at a substantially lower rate than wages and salaries for high-earners. Romney earned about $190,000 in author and speaking fees, as well as $260,390 for sitting on the board of Marriott International. The Robneys donated $4.02 million to charity in 2011, nearly 30 percent of their income, helping to reduce their tax obligation AND the majority of Romneys’ charitable contributions went the Tyler Charitable Foundation (Romney’s own foundation). Romneys trustee released a statement saying that the Romneys only claimed a tax deduction for $2.25 million of those charitable contributions to engineer a higher tax rate than they otherwise would have paid. This move was to “conform” to the candidate’s statement in August that he paid a federal income tax rate of at least 13 percent of his income in each of the last 10 years. According to The Washington Post… At a Republican presidential debate in January, on the same night he released his 2010 tax returns, Romney scoffed at the notion that he would pay more taxes than he is legally required. “You’ll see my income, how much taxes I’ve paid, how much I’ve paid to charity,” Romney said. “I pay all the taxes that are legally required and not a dollar more. I don’t think you want someone as the candidate for president who pays more taxes than he owes.” In case you didn’t know, Romney’s 2011 return is 379 pages long however, the 2011 return of VP candidate Paul Ryan is only 32. One other note–Romney’s 2011 income and tax obligation are significantly less than what his campaign estimated earlier in January. They released an estimate saying that Romney earned $20.9 million in 2011 and would pay about $3.2 million in taxes–for an effective rate of 15.4 percent. “The Romneys’ income can vary significantly from year to year, depending primarily on what investments are sold and how much they have appreciated or depreciated,” Davis said…the couple filed for an extension in April, as they had in prior years, because the investment information required to prepare their tax returns was not available by the April 15 tax deadline. She said, however, that all taxes owed for 2011 were paid by April 15 and that they filed their returns on Friday. Romney, like many other Americans with large investment portfolios, pays a lower tax rate than those whose incomes come from wages. Investment profits are taxed at a flat 15 percent rate, way below the highest rates taxed on “regular” wages. One last round of facts for you to take in: Barack released his 2000-2011 (Federal and Illinois) returns, Biden submitted his taxes from 1998-2011 (Federal, Delaware, and Virginia), and before that, Clinton released his taxes from 1992-1999. As far as Republicans are concerned, their release record is astounding. Mitt, Lyan, McCain, and Crazy Palin only released two years worth of taxes (Newt released one). Before that George Dubya and Shady Cheney both released 2000-2007 but…Bush only released partial returns. For tax year 2000, Bush released only his Form 1040; Cheney provided a summary of his taxes, but released no forms. SMH…Let the shadiness ensue. This is making us real happy that election season is almost over! Images via WENN

Panera Bread Franchisee Settles Suit With Black Workers After Not Permitting People Who Are “Black, Fat, And/Or Ugly” To Work Registers

Panera Bread Franchise Settles Discrimination Suit For $76K Looks like that shady Covelli Enterprises is going to pay up for telling this young brotha that he had to be a cook so “no blacks were in public view”… Via ABC News: An Ohio franchisee who runs several western Pennsylvania Panera Bread stores has agreed to pay more than $76,000 to settle discrimination claims by current and former black employees. Chief U.S. District Judge Gary Lancaster on Monday told attorneys for Guy Vines, the black worker, and the company he sued in January, Warren, Ohio-based Covelli Enterprises, to advertise the settlement in newspapers in Pennsylvania, Ohio, Florida, Kentucky and West Virginia, where Covelli operates Panera stores. Vines sued claiming he was denied promotions and made to work in the kitchen because company owner Sam Covelli didn’t want black employees in areas where the public was served. About 200 to 300 black workers may be entitled to money, Vines’ attorney, Samuel Cordes told the judge. According to online court records, Vines will receive $10,000 for being the lead plaintiff and Cordes will receive $66,000 in legal fees. In addition, Covelli must pay a yet-to-be determined amount based on how many current and former employees respond to the advertisements and file claims. Those workers will get 70 cents an hour for each hour they worked in excess of one year at any of Covelli’s Panera’s stores. That’s based upon how much money Covelli’s workers stood to gain had they been promoted after their first year. The settlement covers all current or former black employees who worked for Covelli for at least a year between Jan. 11, 2008 and Jan. 11, 2012 — the day Vines filed his lawsuit. Vines contends he was hired in November 2009 and quit in August 2011 over his alleged mistreatment. Cordes, who represented both men, said in Vines’ lawsuit that “African Americans were routinely assigned to jobs either in the back of the store washing dishes or doing food preparation so customers would not see them” and that top Covelli managers dictated that “people who are ‘Black, Fat, and/or ugly’ should never be permitted to work the cash registers.” SMH. Sounds like this azzholes need to cough up more than $76K to us!

Gym Fires Back At Gabby Douglas’ “They Called Me A Slave” Comment…”Is She A Credible Person?? Her Accusations Are Fake!”

Gym Fires Back At Gabby Douglas’ “They Called Me A Slave” Comment Who do you believe?? Douglas’ former gym in Virginia Beach are “shocked” and “hurt” over allegations the two-time gold medal-winning gymnast made about racial bullying during her time there. Douglas told Oprah Winfrey in a recent interview that she was subject to racial taunts and comments while training at Excalibur Gymnastics in her hometown. She told one story in which a teammate told her to perform a task because she was their slave. “I definitely felt isolated,” Douglas told Winfrey. “I felt, ‘Why do I deserve this? Is it because I’m black?’ “ People associated with Excalibur were quick to rebut the claims to multiple news outlets. They say Douglas is exaggerating. “Really, I was shocked and very hurt,” former coach Dena Walker told NewsChannel 3. The CEO of Excalibur vehemently denied the statement. “I wish to defend the children that trained with her and supported her when she attacks them with these allegations,” Gustavo Moure told E! News. “Is Gabrielle a credible person just because she is an Olympic champion? She is not giving any names or dates, leading us to believe that the accusation is fake.” We believe Gabby, and not just because she’s black. Why would she make that up?? SMH. Source

REVIEW: Rollicking But Rough Lawless Creates Bloody, Intoxicating Prohibition-Era World

As rollicking and rough as a drive down a dirt road with no suspension,  Lawless is a tale of three-bootlegging brothers from Prohibition-era Franklin County, Virginia, who are, in the words of one character, some “hard-ass crackers.” Directed by Australia’s John Hillcoat ( The Road ) and written by musician Nick Cave (who’s adapted Matt Bondurant’s historical novel  The Wettest County in the World ),  Lawless is, like their last collaboration  The Proposition ,  a kind of remixed Western at heart. It’s a story in which the law and the outlaws are equally outsized and dangerous — and a world in which the fighting has nothing to do with keeping order and everything to do with displays of strength. “It is not the violence that sets men apart. It is the distance that he is prepared to go,” declares oldest brother Forrest Bondurant (Tom Hardy), the hardest boiled of them all. To say that  Lawless  (or  The Proposition ) romanticizes violence isn’t quite right — every tommy-gun bullet wound and knife wound is sickeningly visceral, and when a character gets his throat cut the man doing the deed has to saw through resisting flesh. But the film does relish and find lyricism in these tribal philosopher psychopaths who use force with the measured anticipation of an oenophile savoring a sip of wine. The sheer appreciation  Lawless has for its characters and its setting makes it a pleasure  to settle into, even though the film can be carelessly formless and feel like a rough draft that was never sculpted into something more meaningful. As Jack Bondurant, the youngest of the three brothers and the one most eager to prove himself, Shia LaBeouf, is both the primary focus of the film and its narrator — an unfortunate thing, since he’s also the character we least want to spend time with. Forrest is so tough he’s developed a mythology around him, that even he might believe, about being invincible — and given the ordeal he survives in this film, there might be something to that. Middle sibling Howard (Jason Clarke) is huge and half-feral, especially when he’s on one of his benders. But Jack’s been kept on the outside of the family business, allowed only to be the driver as the brothers travel the county, dispensing corn whiskey. That changes when an act of aggression by two out-of-towners gives him the opportunity to make a deal with gangster Floyd Banner (a gleeful Gary Oldman) after almost dying at his hands. At the core of Lawless is the escalating conflict between the Bondurant brothers and a corrupt Chicago lawman named Charlie Rakes (Guy Pearce) who’s coming down hard on the county to get protection money from its many moonshiners. But there are plenty of detours taken: Jack woos preacher’s daughter Bertha (Mia Wasikowska) and starts up his own stills with the disabled Cricket (Dane DeHaan). Forrest makes sparks with dancer-turned-waitress Maggie (Jessica Chastain). Lawless is really about the adventures of the Bondurants and their friends and foes during Prohibition, and the characters are so compelling it would really be enough to just spend time in their presence. Forrest in particular is a memorable contradiction: Aside from his flashes of savagery, Hardy maintains an almost grandfatherly air. Clad in cardigans and prone to muttering, he refuses to step down to anyone and yet, is utterly undone by Maggie’s arrival in his life. As Rakes, Pearce is almost too outsized for the film to contain him. With his blackened, immaculately pomaded hair, parted dramatically down the center, and his pale eyebrows, he looks like a cross between Crispin Glover and Voldemort. He wields his vague sexuality — “You’re a peach,” he croons to Jack before punching him in the face — like a threat, mincing in his flawless suit right before delivering a ruthless beating, then ceremoniously peeling off his blood-stained leather gloves. It’s a unique performance, albeit so mannered it almost rends the already accommodating fabric of the film. Factor in the prevalence of international actors in the cast and the unfocused nature of the narrative, and Lawless  seems to take place in an impressionistic space rather than a historical one. It’s Charlie and Forrest that we want to see have a showdown, though it’s Jack who more often ends up in the former’s crosshairs. It’s not LaBeouf’s fault that his character is the flimsiest. The story keeps giving him foolish things to do to bring around more action, including accidentally leading the police to the family’s stills. His role as catalyst eventually becomes irritating because we don’t want the story to move along. The world that  Lawless presents is so vivid and pleasing that we want to linger over the details. It’s a film that finds delicate beauty in the image of someone bleeding out in the snow, and turns a drunken, impulsive visit to church service into an overwhelming sensory experience. The appeal of Lawless is not the story it tells but rather the world that it creates. Follow Alison Willmore on Twitter. Follow Movieline on Twitter.

Gabby Douglas Gets A Makeover During Her Trip to NYC

Shouldn’t we be happy for Gabby? We just wish this exciting makeover, given by celebrity hairstylist Ted Gibson, wasn’t overshadowed by all of the negativity surrounding the Double-Gold Olympic Champion. Seems Gabby’s team put a plan in action once the star returned back to the states this week; one of her many stops was at Gibson’s salon: “I couldn’t believe it and still can’t,” Gibson, who has worked on the tresses of Anne Hathaway, Angelina Jolie, Kate Gosselin and Ashley Greene, told The Daily Beast on Wednesday about the criticism Douglas received over her slicked-back ponytail. “You have this young girl doing amazing things, and the conversation becomes about her hair? It was ridiculous and shameful.” Earlier this month, the pint-sized Team USA gymnast, who’s the first African American female to win the All-Around gold, shed some light on the trivial, tress-related matter. “They have no idea what they’re talking about,” she told Us Weekly. “We rotate from event to event so there’s no time for them to say ‘Representing the USA, Gabrielle Douglas’ and me to say ‘Yeah, thanks!’ as I’m brushing my hair. It’s so disrespectful! I’m not thinking about that. I’m thinking about bringing a gold medal home.” So on Tuesday, Gibson, who also lends his talents on What Not to Wear, worked his mane magic on the Virginia Beach native and gave her a hair makeover that the teen couldn’t stop gushing about: frizz-free, center-parted waves that fall a few inches below her shoulders. Gabby tweeted her excitement and thanks to Gibson afterwards: We’re all so proud of Gabby and her amazing triumphs in London. Hopefully this is the last time we have to talk about her hair! Lookin’ forward to seeing what’s in store for ya kid! Source Images via Twitter

Joe Biden: “Mitt Romney And The Republicans Are Going To Put Y’all Back In Chains!”

Joe always going to keep it a hunnid Vice President Biden has never been one to bite his tongue when it comes to his political opponents, especially Mitt Romney and his VP nominee, Paul Ryan. Speaking at a campaign event in Virginia on Tuesday, Biden told the Obama supporters that they have more to fear than just an attack on the middle class if Romney is elected, and that their very freedom is at stake: “Look at their budget, and what they are proposing,” Biden said. “Romney wants to let–he said in the first hundred days, he’s going to let the big banks once again write their own rules. Unchain Wall Street.” Biden then paused, and said, “they going to put y’all back in chains.” Many GOP members were quick to react to Biden’s remarks, making a racial connection between the vice president’s “chains” comment and slavery. Biden was speaking to a largely black crowd in the heart of Danville,Virginia; a city with a long history of racial tension. Although his language may seem extreme to some, historically, working class people have been enslaved by corporations, and big business is something “Money Makin” Mitt is very familiar with. Do you think Biden’s statements were too extreme or is he right? Source

Rumor Control: Australian Swirling Swimmer DENIES Getting Back-Stroked By Kobe “Dirty Dog” Bryant During The Olympics

Recently we reported that the Black Mamba was acting a plum azz while in London . Apparently Kobe was doing his best to try to chop down three-time gold medal swimmer from Australia Stephanie Rice. However, the alleged swirlin’ swimmer took to her Twitter to dispel the mounting tumors, insisting there is nothing romantic between the two: She continued… We know as soon Vanessa touched down all of Kobe’s extracurricular actives were done and wifey wasn’t playing that mess. Yeah, we believe these two were “friends” the same way Drake wishes he was friends with Aaliyah. Do better Kobe! Twitter

And So It Begins: Paul “Who Needs Medicare” Ryan Slams President Obama-”He Has A Record Of Failure!!”

Paul Ryan Says President Obama Has A Record Of Failure Just hours after officially assuming the role as running-mate of Republican Presidential candidate Mitt Romney, Vice-President candidate Paul Ryan ripped into President Obama. Republican Mitt Romney’s running mate, Wisconsin Rep. Paul Ryan, wasted little time tearing into President Barack Obama on Saturday, lambasting the Democrat’s “record of failure” just hours after being named to the GOP ticket. Moving into a role as Romney’s chief attack dog, Ryan declared Saturday that the nation under Obama’s leadership is struggling through the “worst economic recovery in 70 years.” “No one disputes President Obama inherited a difficult situation,” Ryan said, standing at Romney’s side for the first time as the Republican presidential ticket on the USS Wisconsin, a retired battleship. “And, in his first two years, with his party in complete control of Washington, he passed nearly every item on his agenda. But that didn’t make things better.” Romney selected the 42-year-old Ryan, a seven-term congressman, from a short list that included Ohio Sen. Rob Portman, former Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty, Florida Sen. Marco Rubio and Virginia Gov. Bob McDonnell. Ryan is the architect of a conservative and intensely controversial long-term budget plan to remake Medicare and cut trillions in federal spending. His selection immediately thrusts those budget plans into the forefront of the presidential contest. Obama’s campaign manager, Jim Messina, called Ryan “the architect of the radical Republican House budget” proposal and said the plan “would end Medicare as we know it.” Sounds like Money Mitt has found his perfect match. Too Late: Batman Movie Massacre Killer Mailed His Plans To University Psychiatrist Before Shooting Up Theater… But They Weren’t Received Until Monday!!!

Aurora Colorado Shooter James Holmes Mailed Massacre Plans To College Psychiatrist Before Attack Damn, if only they had gotten those plans sooner. Could James Holmes have been stopped? James Holmes, the accused gunman in last Friday’s midnight movie massacre in Colorado, mailed a notebook “full of details about how he was going to kill people” to a University of Colorado psychiatrist before the attack. The parcel, officials said, sat unopened in a mailroom for as long as a week before its discovery Monday, a law enforcement source told FoxNews.com. Police and FBI agents were called to the University of Colorado Anschutz medical campus in Aurora on Monday morning after the psychiatrist, who is also a professor at the school, reported receiving a package believed to be from the suspect. Although that package turned out to be from someone else and harmless, a search of the Campus Services’ mailroom turned up another package sent to the psychiatrist with Holmes’ name in the return address, the source told FoxNews.com. A second law enforcement source said authorities got a warrant from a county judge and took the package away Monday night. When it was opened, its chilling contents were revealed. “Inside the package was a notebook full of details about how he was going to kill people,” the source told FoxNews.com. “There were drawings of what he was going to do in it – drawings and illustrations of the massacre.” Among the images shown in the spiral-bound notebook’s pages were gun-wielding stick figures blowing away other stick figures. The source said the package had been in the mailroom since July 12, though another source who confirmed the discovery to FoxNews.com could not say if the package arrived prior to Friday’s massacre. It was not clear why it had not been delivered to the psychiatrist. The notebook is now in possession of the FBI, sources told FoxNews.com. Both sources said the intended recipient of Holmes’ notebook was a professor who also treated patients at the psychiatry outpatient facility, located in Building 500, where the first suspicious package was delivered. It could not be verified that the psychiatrist had had previous contact with Holmes, who was a dropout from the school’s neuroscience doctoral program and had studied various mental health issues and ailments as part of his curriculum. Meanwhile, it was reported today that Holmes had a lusty taste for hookers and claimed to see multiple pros in the months before his alleged killing spree. Holmes frequented a Web site that posts reviews of prostitutes and the accused “Dark Knight” killer wrote three critiques of Colorado working gals, TMZ reported. The celebrity gossip Web site claimed to speak to all three ladies of the night. One couldn’t recall Holmes face, while another said The Joker wannabe “looked very familiar” but wasn’t 100-percent sure he was client of hers. But a third pro positively fingered him and said Holmes hired her as recently as August 2011. “Tiffany” said Holmes was a good customer: “I had no issues with him … he was really nice.” The alleged mass murderer even took pity on Tiffany when the call girl said she was hurting for business. “He felt bad that I wasn’t getting more customers while in Colorado, so he called a few days later and we met up again.” This isht is horrible. We want to rip this guys eyes from his sockets every time we think about what happened last week. This reminds us so much of the Virginia Tech shooting where the murderer gave off so many warning signs before things went violent. Source
