Joe Biden Says Paul Ryan’s "Bullets Aimed at You"

Vice President Joe Biden is at it again with his controversial remarks on the campaign trail. During a speech in Nevada, he made reference to Republican V.P. nominee Paul Ryan’s book Young Guns , which he co-wrote with other GOP Congressmen … Joe Biden: Bullets Aimed at You “They have guns but no bullets,” a member of the crowd shouted. “Unfortunately, the bullets are aimed at you,” Biden replied. The Vice President added that the GOP is dividing the U.S. by talking about “a culture of dependency.” Shortly after the rally, Ryan spokesman Brendan Buck hit back at Biden: “Today’s over-the-top rhetoric by Vice President Biden is disappointing, but not all that surprising.” “In the absence of a vision or plan to move the country forward, the vice president is left only with ugly political attacks beneath the dignity of the office he occupies.” Earlier this year, the 69-year-old Biden controversially told a Virginia audience that Mitt Romney’s economic policies would ” put y’all back in chains .” He was also criticized for his interruptive and combative nature during the vice presidential debate with Ryan earlier this month. For better or worse, that’s Biden for you. Decision 2012: Obama-Biden or Romney-Ryan?   Obama-Biden Romney-Ryan View Poll »

For Discussion: Should We Be Offended When “Good Hair” Is Associated With Being Mixed?

Long hair don’t care… But how bad is it that many folks assume that being mixed is a recipe for “good hair” ? The reason we ask is that we read a lengthy interview with our boo thang Elle Varner from the November issue of Sister2Sister magazine where publisher Jamie Foster Brown grills Elle about where she got her thick natural hair and starts quizzing her about her gene pool. Via the print edition of S2S : Jamie: Okay, what about that hair? Where did you get that hair from? Elle: My hair is my hair, you know? I’m Cape Verdean and Black. Jamie: But who in the family has hair like that? Does your mom have a lot of hair? Elle: My dad’s hair is thick and long, and, like, longer than mine. It’s crazy. My dad has so much hair. Jamie: He’s got long hair too? Is he mixed or anything? Elle: Yeah, he’s half Black, half Swedish. Did that offend you at all? Or did it sound like perfectly normal questions? The reason we ask is that Melanie Fiona was reamed this summer for remarks she made in an interview she did this June/July with a “black hair” magazine. Here’s the troublesome quote from the Sophisticate’s Black Hair Styles and Care Guide interview via Longing4Length.com : SBH:What’s the secret to your gorgeous long hair? Melanie Fiona: I was born with a full head of hair, and my mom wouldn’t let me cut it until I was 12! I’m mixed – my mom is Black and Portuguese and my dad is Indian so I have a good mix for growth . Elle’s answer isn’t much different from Melanie’s — the response is that their hair texture is a gene pool thing. But many folks took offense to what Melanie had to say because she chose the words “good mix for growth” but Elle’s answer implies almost the same thing. So what’s really the difference? And does it even matter? Let’s be honest, you don’t have to be “mixed” to have good hair. There are plenty of full black women with healthy heads of thick, long, natural hair. So do we all need to be re-educated about this topic? Regardless, the “exotic” girls seem to always have the most success in the entertainment business, so is this just a touchy topic for black women? Please discuss! WENN

Hide Ya Kids: Freakazoid Teacher Fired After Ex-Student Posts Up Naked Pics Of Her On Twitter!!

They had an affair and homeboy put her azz on blast via twitter…SMH. What’s up with all these female teachers being attracted to high school boys ?? According to The Grio: A substitute teacher at Cosby High School in Midlothian, Virginia, has been fired for allegedly having intimate relations with a former student. WRIC-TV reported that Anna Michelle Walters, was fired on Friday when school authorities first learned of the allegations. Justin Fosters, now a college student at West Virginia University, took to Twitter on Tuesday to give a detailed account of an affair with substitute teacher, Walters, while he was a student at Cosby High School with picture proof. Chesterfield County Police are investigating how old Fosters was when the affair took place, and are also looking into claims that Walters might have been involved with other students. Fosters tweeted: “Everyone be on twitter tonight lmfao,” and then followed with “oh man s**** going down tonight please if you attend Cosby or used to please be on twitter it’ll be a treat.” Fosters then proceeded to post a naked picture of Walters, along with screenshots of text messages that were exchanged between the two. His action generated mixed reactions on the social media, as one person tweeted praises at Fosters saying: “No matter what people say @DubVeeU is a f****** boss. #BossStatus” And another person rebuked him for his antics, saying, “Hey, just want you to know That you’re a big thing in Sweden…and we all think you’re a very sad person.” It is unclear what the motivation was, that led Fosters to reveal his exploits with the substitute teacher, but some are speculating that it was part of a fraternity initiation. If she’s guilty we think her nasty azz deserves to be charged! Images via twitter

That’s Racist–‘Offensive’ Obama Pics Posted Up On Virginia GOP County Committee Facebook Page

SMH… some shady members of the Mecklenburg County, VA Republican Party aren’t apologizing for photos they posted on their Facebook page depicting President Barack Obama as a caveman and a “thug”. God Bless Freedom of Speech right?? According to The Washington Post: R. Wallace “Wally” Hudson, chairman of the Mecklenburg County Republican Committee, had vowed on Tuesday to ignore calls from the Republican Party of Virginia to take down doctored photos portraying Obama as a witch doctor, caveman and thug. He defended the images as harmless spoofs — and as a matter of free speech. State party Chairman Pat Mullins had strongly condemned the photos, saying that posting them on the unit’s Web site was “unacceptable behavior from any local unit associated with our party.” Wally’s defense… “We know our regular readers, who are good conservatives, they’re gonna get a kick out of it,” said Hudson, 55, a retired airline flight crew member who became chairman in May. “The rest of them, if they don’t want to see it, they don’t have to look at it. We don’t consider any of it racist. . . . I’m not ashamed of it. I mean, good God, you should have seen some of the images they did of George [W.] Bush. It’s freedom of speech…”If that group is that sensitive, I’m sorry, they’re just not human. It’s not American. If they’ve got a problem with it, we’re not going to change what we do.” As of today, the photos have been removed and the site was “temporarily unavailable”. We’re all for freedom of speech over here but this definitely had racist undertones. Do you think they should have been forced to remove the photos? Images via facebook

SMH: Gay Couple Suing Republican Lawmaker In Colorado For Using Engagement Pic In Smear Campaign

Damn, these politicians stay smearing, and unfortunately this gay couple from Jersey is the butt of one Colorado smear campaign. According to The Denver Channel: A gay couple from New Jersey is suing a group that used their engagement photo in an attack mailer against a Republican Colorado state lawmaker who supported civil unions this year. Brian Edwards and Tom Privitere, and their attorneys, talked about the lawsuit Wednesday outside federal court in Denver. “It brought back feelings of bullying in my childhood, which was startling to us,” Edward said. “Tom and I both cringe now when we see our engagement photo, a photo which will forever live on the Internet as a message of hate.” The Southern Poverty Law Center is filing the lawsuit on behalf of the couple against the Virginia-based Public Advocate of the United States. The couple was originally photographed kissing with a New York City skyline as a backdrop. The couple shared the engagement photo with family and friends through Edwards’ blog, along with photos of the couple’s wedding ceremony. The photo was altered and the couple was superimposed against a snowy backdrop with the words “State Senator Jean White’s Idea Of ‘Family Values?’” The photo was used in mailers in a June primary election involving Republicans Jean White of Hayden and Jeff Hare of Greeley. White was one of a handful of Republicans who supported a civil union bill that was blocked in the state House. “I cringe every time I look at what once was one of our favorite photos,” Edwards said. “All I see now is the defiled image used to attack our family and our community. All we want is justice for the pain that Public Advocate has caused us.” “This case is about the defilement of a beautiful moment by a group known for demonizing the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community,” said Christine P. Sun, SPLC deputy legal director. “This was just a cheap way for Public Advocate to avoid having to pay for a stock photo to use in their hateful anti-gay attack ad. It was nothing short of theft.” The SPLC has labeled Public Advocate as a hate group. SMH.
