Christina Aguilera Called "Total Bitch" By The Wanted

British boy band The Wanted performed on The Voice, and didn’t hesitate to describe one of the less fun aspects of that experience in an interview. That being Christina Aguilera. The judge “is a total bitch,” the band’s Tony Parker ranted to Now FM, in an interview that has since been yanked from YouTube. He continues: “She might not be a total bitch in real life, but to us, she was a total bitch … she just sat there and didn’t speak to us. Wouldn’t even look at us.” “She was quite rude,” Siva Kaneswaran (second from right), added, backing up the claim by Parker (second from left). “I mean, Who does that?” Max George (middle) chimed in, “She was a bit scary, to be honest.” When asked to compare their time on The Voice with their recent appearance on American Idol , George said, “J. Lo’s hot, Christina’s nothing special.” The Wanted performed on The Voice the same night Justin Bieber showed up to debut a preview of his “Boyfriend” video, and said that Aguilera was equally cold to the “Baby” crooner, making a weird face as Bieber went in for a hug. Aguilera, for her part, denies she snubbed anyone : “Haha,” she tweeted. “Can’t a girl have a little Bieber Fever after getting kissed by the Biebs?”

Happy 70th Birthday, Barbra Streisand!

Barbra Streisand turned 70 this week. Seventy! The star marked the milestone with a party to remember in Malibu, Calif., on Tuesday, celebrating with close friends and enjoying a performance by Johnny Mathis. The legendary singer-actress was joined at Taverna Tony by 80 guests, including John Travolta, Warren Beatty, Pierce Brosnan and Keely Smith, Steven Spielberg and Kate Capshaw, her stepson Josh Brolin and Diane Lane, Kenny G and Donna Karan. “It was an intimate magical event with only very close friends, people I’ve known and loved more than 20 years,” Streisand personally told People . “The highlight of the night was my son’s film that he made for me. People kept asking, ‘Who’s that singing?’ And when I said it was Jason, everyone was blown away by the soulfulness of his voice. Quincy Jones wanted to sign him on the spot.” “All my friends made it an evening full of surprises for me, flying in the remarkable Israeli mentalist Lior Suchard and gifting me with the performance of my favorite singer, Johnny Mathis, and many, many more highlights.” Happy birthday to one of the greats! In her career, Barbra has won two Academy Awards, eight Grammy Awards, five Emmy Awards and a Tony Award, one of a select few entertainers who have ever won all four. Not a bad resume. Cheesa Covers Whitney Houston, Performs "I Have Nothing" on The Voice

Facing The Voice’s instant elimination round , Cheesa knew she had to make an impression that lasted with coach Cee Lo Green, his fellow panelists, and America. Her courageous performance of Whitney Houston’s “I Have Nothing” did just that. It earned a standing ovation from Christina Aguilera, who’s been surprisingly hard to please at times this season. “That is a beloved song,” the coach said. “Those are huge shoes to fill and you still managed to do you own thing. I loved it.” Cheesa – I Have Nothing (The Voice Audition) Do you agree with Christina? Cee Lo did, at least to the point where James Massone got the boot and Cheesa lived to sing another day. Will she survive tonight? That’s up to the viewers of The Voice. The top vote-getter among Cee Lo’s remaining three team members will advance, with the coach picking the other semifinalist.

On April 17, 2012 I went to The Voice because I heard Justin…

On April 17, 2012 I went to The Voice because I heard Justin Bieber was going to be there, I had to go! I had general tickets and it looked like we were going to get pretty crappy seats. We’ve been waiting and waiting for like 2 hours to at least get our wristbands. We finally got them and we got a blue one until this guy gave me a black one too. I was so confused because I now had 2 wristbands. He asked me if those 2 girls were my friends and I said yes. He’s said okay because I gave them black wristbands too. I asked what they were for. He told us we would be sitting in the PIT! I was freaking out! My friend Nicole was dying because she is in love with Adam Levine and Justin Bieber too. We waited another good hour and began walking toward the studio. We were waiting in line before going into the studio and Justin and Scooter were driving on a golf cart right by us! All I saw was Scooter because everyone was blocking my way. But that was still exciting for me. Anyways the show goes on, we meet The Wanted, they preformed right in front of us and talked to us. They’re such sweet guys! Then we met Adam Levine, Christina Auguilara, Cee Lo, Blake and then of course Justin Bieber. During comercial breaks I was like, “Adam tell Justin I said whats up” and he was laughing and said “Okay.” The show was so much fun! All I could think about was seeing Justin. I heard Carson Daily say, “and now it’s time to premiere the video,” etc and I hear Justin, I just couldn’t see him yet! My friend was like, “Omg he’s behind, you turn around!” I turned and I saw him standing there. Everyone around me knew I was such a huge fan, I was screaming and couldn’t help but have the biggest smile on my face and tears. He’s grown up and come so far and I’m really proud to say that I’ve been a fan since the very beginning. Then after they were like thanks for coming and he was saying bye to all the judges. I was so sad because I thought he wasn’t going to come close to me. All of a sudden I see him running up the steps and coming straight towards me and the rest of the fans. I was in total shock, I was speechless. All I could do was point to my cheek and he grabbed my hand and went, “Muuuuuaaaaaaaaaahhhhh” and kissed me. My friends were screaming in shock, we were so speechless!! After it was commercial break and the guy who was keeping the crowd going came and asked who did he kiss and I was like me! He was like, “How does it feel to be kissed by Justin Bieber and make everyone jealous” and stuff like that. I felt so happy, I couldn’t help but keep a smile on my face. Then I come home to find out that him kissing me was on TV! I was so happy because some people didn’t believe me. Justin is truly the nicest guy ever and he’ll never forget about his fans and how much you guys have impacted his life. We support him and he shows us his love for us back. Everyone ready for JUNE 19?!?! BELIEVE is coming out! -@itsmarlenebabyy Read the original here: On April 17, 2012 I went to The Voice because I heard Justin…

The Band’s Levon Helm Dead At 71

Famed drummer passed away ‘surrounded by family, friends and band mates’ on Thursday. By John Mitchell The Band’s Levon Helm Photo: Getty Images After fighting a long battle with cancer, Levon Helm, former drummer for Rock and Roll Hall of Fame group The Band died Thursday (April 19). He was 71. “Levon Helm passed peacefully this afternoon,” a statement on his website reads. “He was surrounded by family, friends and band mates and will be remembered by all he touched as a brilliant musician and a beautiful soul.” Born in Elaine, Arkansas, on May 26, 1940, Helm’s signature Southern drawl is featured on some of the Band’s most iconic songs, from “The Weight” and “Up on Cripple Creek” to “The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down.” Helm was first diagnosed with throat cancer in 1998 and has struggled with his voice since. He initially lost his ability to sing entirely, but continued to play drums, mandolin and harmonica. Radiation left him with little more than a raspy whisper, but Helm continued to try to sing, and by the time he recorded 2007’s Dirt Farmer he’d recovered 80 percent of his voice. With his daughter Amy, he started a series of weekly concerts at his Woodstock, New York, studios called the “Midnight Ramble,” which grew from an idea Helm explained to Martin Scorsese while making “The Last Waltz,” the legendary documentary directed by Scorsese about the Band’s epic, all-star Thanksgiving farewell concert in 1976 at the Winterland Ballroom in San Francisco. The Midnight Ramble shows became very popular and attracted many of music’s most renowned stars, from Elvis Costello and Norah Jones to My Morning Jacket and Emmylou Harris. The shows’ success reignited Helm’s recording career in the early 2000s, leading him toward Grammy wins for his albums Dirt Farmer (2007), Electric Dirt (2009) and Ramble at the Ryman (2011). Helm’s music career began when he joined the band of rocker Ronnie Hawkins in 1957. During his stint in Hawkins’ band, he met Richard Manuel, Rick Danko, Robbie Robertson and Garth Hudson and together they formed the core of the Band. After their split from Hawkins, the group became the backing band for Bob Dylan as the folk icon transitioned to an electric sound. Helm, Manuel, Danko, Robertson and Hudson eventually earned a recording contract of their own, and as the Band released 10 studio albums, beginning with 1968’s Music From Big Pink. Though the Band broke up in 1976, they regrouped without Robertson in 1983 and continued recording through 1998. Helm was also an actor, appearing in 12 films, most notably the 1980s Oscar-winning “Coal Miner’s Daughter,” in which he played Loretta Lynn’s (Sissy Spacek) father, and most recently the Mark Wahlberg-starring “Shooter.” Related Artists The Band

Coldplay Reveal Rihanna Clip From ‘Princess Of China’ Video

Pop star is in goddess mode in snippet from upcoming video, which band teased during Canadian tour stop. By John Mitchell Coldplay’s Chris Martin and Rihanna Photo: Getty Images Coldplay teased the upcoming video for their latest Mylo Xyloto single, “Princess of China,” during a tour stop in Edmonton, Canada, giving concertgoers their first look at Rihanna rocking the look she tweeted about from the video’s set in March. During the band’s performance of the song, the Barbadian pop diva appeared on an overhead video in full-on goddess mode with multiple sets of hands fanning out behind her and moving to the beat of the song. The guys of Coldplay are big fans of the “We Found Love” singer and told MTV News last year that they were excited to work with her because it was an opportunity to cross genres. “Her bit on our record is my favorite bit,” frontman Chris Martin told MTV News in September. “When the song came out, it sort of asked for her to be on it. And I think at this point, we have nothing to lose, and so we’ve been trying some new things and trying to break down the perceived boundaries between different types of music.” Coldplay have not yet announced when the full “Princess of China” video will premiere. Rihanna, who is also featured in Drake’s “Take Care” video , is readying her own clip for her new single “Where Have You Been.” She hasn’t said when the video will debut, but she posted some sexy stills from the clip to her Facebook earlier this week. ‘American Idol’ Report Card: Joshua Ledet Soars, Phillip Phillips Scores

The top seven sang for their lives on ‘Now and Then’ night; here’s how they all fared. By James Montgomery Joshua Ledet performs on “American Idol” Photo: Frank Micelotta/ Getty Images “American Idol” gave us the best of both worlds on Wednesday night, as the top seven sang something old and something new . That meant dusting off some classic soul tunes and coupling them with the current crop of shiny pop hits, and though you might not believe it, the results were actually pretty good. Yes, no doubt due to last week’s shocking near elimination of presumed front-runner Jessica Sanchez , the remaining “Idol” hopefuls were singing for their lives last night, and delivered a handful of genuinely great performances. Of course, a few tried to go outside the box, and the results… well, they were mixed. Still, a memorable show all around, and not just because of Colton Dixon’s Lady Gaga get-up. So who earned the night’s highest marks? Who should consider hiring a tutor? Read on for our “American Idol” report card! Joshua Ledet : Of course he did Fantasia. And, of course, his version of “I Believe” was amazing: lithe and limber, full of range and emotion, he’s the best male singer by a mile. Ledet also delivered big time with Sam Cooke’s “A Change Is Gonna Come,” which got off to an unintentionally hilarious start — Seacrest introduced it as “an emotional civil-rights anthem, coming to you live, from Joshua,” which was followed by a shot of Joshua holding a wind-up toy, grinning like a goofball — but no one was laughing by the end. He straight-up murdered it, with jaw-dropping power and prowess that earned him a standing ovation and some overtly sexual critique from Steven Tyler. Randy followed that up by taking shots at “The Voice,” only not overtly at all. Settle down, dawg. A Phillip Phillips : Let’s give a shoutout to Double P, who got out of the grouting business for one week only, first with a soft-core Skinemax take on Usher’s “U Got It Bad” and then a smooth (for him at least) spin through Wilson Pickett’s “In the Midnight Hour.” Both were perfect choices, playing to his strengths — he is handsome — both left the ladies wanting more, and both had Steven Tyler talking like detective John Shaft (“No chump love, sucka.”) Game on, Colton Dixon. B+ Jessica Sanchez : Her version of Alicia Keys’ “Fallin'” was yet another powerhouse, as she set her intensity level on “simmer” and just let things cook. (Though for a minute, we were worried one of those umbrellas was going to fall on her.) We weren’t as crazy about her take on Otis Redding’s “Try A Little Tenderness” — sure, it was big and brassy, but also kinda growly, and seemed like a cruise ship performance. And could there be trouble brewing on the high seas for the formerly indestructible Sanchez? She got the dreaded “you need to connect” advice from Randy et. al, and J.Lo almost forgot the name of her alter ego, which might not bode well for her down the stretch. B Skylar Laine : Wait, she did a Lady Gaga tune?!? Yep. Breaking free of her country container (it’s like Tupperware), Laine took on “Born This Way,” and we loved it. She’s got spark and attitude for days, and when you get the feeling she’s really pushing herself (like Wednesday or “Wind Beneath My Wings” a few weeks back) there might not be a better performer in the competition. On the flipside, her version of Marvin Gaye’s “Heard It Through the Grapevine,” wasn’t exactly great, and perhaps Laine needs to learn that just because you’re jumping around on the stage, it doesn’t mean you’re connecting with the song. Still, another strong week. She’s the dark horse from here on out. B ” Hollie Cavanagh : “No thinking, just singing ” seemed to be her mantra this week, and it worked. She completed her manifest destiny by doing Adele’s “Rolling in the Deep,” which was not only perhaps the biggest moment of the night, but had Steven Tyler talking about her tail feathers. Her version of Dusty’s “Son of a Preacher Man” was pretty much what you’d expect — faux swagger, some horns, a few nice notes — though the jury’s still out on whether Cavanagh actually connects with any of the voters. B Colton Dixon : For the second week in a row, he surprised with a song choice, taking Gaga’s “Bad Romance” down to the mall for a Hot Topic makeover. It didn’t necessarily work, but the girls loved it, so who cares? Though he needs to stop crouching like Spider-Man when he’s “rocking” out. Meanwhile, his version of Earth, Wind & Fire’s “September” got lost in an autumnal haze (maybe it had something to do with all the fallen leaves strewn atop his piano?) Not the strongest night for C. Dix… though we suspect he thought it went great. C- Elise Testone : A tale of two Testones tonight. She did Alicia Keys’ “No One” (we almost called it! ) and blew it out the box, with a performance that was restrained in all the right ways, big and booming in the best spots. But her gruff, kinda-goofy version of Marvin Gaye’s “Let’s Get It On” just never got on track and seemed like the worst possible song for her to sing. We love her, but we suspect this might be the week that does her in. C- Do you agree with our “American Idol” report card? Leave your comment below!
