A man covered in white face paint and donning a curly red wig, ruffled collar, giant round nose and giant eyebrows is causing quite a stir in the British town of Northampton. Yes, a clown is stalking the streets like Pennywise from Stephen King’s It . The creepy figure first appeared on Friday, September 13, with residents posting sightings of him on Twitter and no one quite sure what the heck is going on. Clown Terrorizes British Town The clown is simply standing on street corners and holding balloons and a teddy bear, waving at those who pass by and… okay, this is freaking us out just to write about. No wonder some have called the police. A Facebook page titled “Spot Northampton’s Clown” has been created and someone purporting to be the clown in question posted on it Monday, denying allegations that he’s been knocking on neighborhood doors late at night. “I ‘haven’t’ been knocking on houses and asking to paint window sills,” the individual wrote. “If what i am doing does get too much for people, I will have to stop.” The clown also says he is not part of any PR stunt. In response, a superhero dubbed The Clown Catcher and dressed like Superman has also taken to the streets in an attempt to protect citizens from the mysterious circus figure. Really. Recalls Cowell: “It was kind of uncomfortable . You know, the situation. But these things happen and everything is calm now and I’m happy. I’m happier than I’ve ever been.” Cowell admits that despite all the stressful attention, the mom-to-be (who already has a 7-year-old son with her now ex-husband) is “in a really good place.” Simon also defended Silverman, whom he recently spent time with in the south of France, against some less than flattering celebrity gossip reports. “There was a lot of stuff said about her, that she trapped me and that she’s a gold digger. Absolute nonsense,” Cowell says. “She’s a great girl.” The British music mogul, who is expecting a boy , says his first child will be raised in New York City (where Lauren lives), Los Angeles and London. During a previously aired episode of Keeping Up With the Kardashians, fans saw a disheveled Kardashian reading aloud a letter he believed was from Bailon’s new man–in which he implored Kardashian to stop calling Bailon. But what Kardashian, 26, didn’t know at the time was that the infamous letter was actually written by the former Cheetah Girl herself! “I was my own fake boyfriend,” The Real co-host admitted. “What all ya’ll thought was that it was written by my boyfriend. It was not written by a boyfriend,” she exclaimed to her cast members . “That was written by me and my girl sitting on the sofa one day deciding to ourselves, ‘Well, how can we make him stop calling me?’ Adding gleefully, “I got left alone. Anyone who has been through or seen someone go through cancer treatment knows what a difficult experience it is. The way the treatment is conceptualized, understood, and dealt with plays a huge part in the patient’s recovery. With children, it can be even harder to explain what cancer is, how it is treated, and why it is happening to them. That is why this news story out of Brazil so awesome. Brazilian hospital A.C.Camargo Cancer Center has “rebranded” their cancer treatment as Superformula , teaming up with Warner Bros. to use real superheroes from the DC universe in order to help inspire the patients in their Children’s Ward. Security Guard Suspended After Punching Female Student In The Face A Chicago Dunbar Vocational school employee is now headed to the unemployment line and possible worse after a school survelliance camera caught him pushing a female student down a flight of stairs, cursing her out, and then punching her in the face when she tried to get up. via NBC News Chicago Public Schools officials removed from duty an employee who was captured on video throwing a female student down the stairs at Dunbar Vocational Career Academy, and punching her in the face. A cell phone video of the incident shows a man who serves in an undefined safety role at the school pushing the student down the stairs. The girl is seen lying on the floor when she is approached by a woman who appears to be a teacher or administrator at the South Side school. The girl then gets up and moves toward the guard, who appears to punch the girl in the face. In addition to the footage of the former employee’s actions, Dunbar students who witnessed the incident were able to provide a little more insight as to why the altercation between the student and the security guard had even began in the first place.
