(Photo by Greg Doherty/Getty Images) Reality Star Erica Mena Was Asked To Move Because She Was Sitting In Execs Seats Here’s a BOSSIP exclusive from the BET Awards. Anyone who’s ever been to the BET Awards knows there can be a lot of moving around throughout the show and shuffling to make sure that the audience is looking right for the cameras. Last night, that caused a bit of embarrassment for at least one reality star in the audience who was asked to move because she and her date were occupying the seats of a pair of high ranking music industry execs — who had been backstage but returned to watch their artist grace the stage! BOSSIP sources in the building say the chairman and president of black music for Atlantic Records were startled to find Erica Mena and Cliff Dixon in their seats after they returned from visiting an artist backstage. Our source says Mena refused to move when the execs returned and security had to be called! “The people who the seats belonged to came back, but Erica kept saying she wasn’t getting up because BET had put her there,” an eyewitness told BOSSIP exclusively. “When security came they asked them to produce their tickets and they couldn’t, she caused a huge scene in the audience and was basically flipping out over it.” “If you don’t have tickets then you are technically a seat filler and required to move when the real ticket holders show up,” the BOSSIP source added. If you watch Erica’s IG story you can see her sitting within the first few rows in her early videos, while later videos are clearly shot from a seat further from the stage. All we can say is, good thing Erica didn’t have a drink with her. She’s been known to get pretty aggressive during some of her past “Love & Hip-Hop” appearances. How embarrassing! Hit the flip for some of Erica’s better BET weekend moments

I don’t give a fuck about AnnaLynne McCord….at all. She’s so low on the totem pole of relevance…that she just doesn’t fucking matter on any level… She was on 90210 the remake- and she probably was not paid to be on on that garbage that we were forced to watch cuz we only had 10 channels back when the original was on tv, but it gave her purpose. I do like that a group of hot sisters from Texas or wherever the fuck they are from came together to LA to try to make it – and loved every second of their fame…they did paparazzi pics daily cuz they loved it…and they now exist despite having not worked since 90210…. And most importantly…they have hot bodies..even if they look like they ran away from Madame Tusseauds Wax Museum and are melting in the sun…. TO SEE THE REST OF THE PICS CLICK HERE

Source: Monalyn Gracia/Corbis/VCG / Getty Microbiologist @junius_64 hit Twitter with her expertise on why lobsters don’t die of old age, but instead die as victims of their own unfortunate genetics. Get into her fascinating theory below. [bong rip] [exhale] lobsters made a deal with the devil for conditional immortality and it backfired on them. you cannot change my mind — labcoat lesbian @ NYC Pride + AC (@JUNIUS_64) June 21, 2018 all of Twitter: “would you care to elaborate on that” me: pic.twitter.com/qxmmTLVzrR — labcoat lesbian @ NYC Pride + AC (@JUNIUS_64) June 21, 2018 ok so basically lobsters do not die of old age. the only thing time does to a lobster is make it bigger and bigger, if environmental conditions are good this is because they have a secret molecular trick over all of us senescent rubes: constant production of telomerase — labcoat lesbian @ NYC Pride + AC (@JUNIUS_64) June 21, 2018 this Grade-A Big Boy is massive- 22 lbs, easily 50 years old. but it isn’t even as big as the largest lobster ever caught, in 1977- 44 lbs, estimated at 140 years old pic.twitter.com/Z2dGVuAtdn — labcoat lesbian @ NYC Pride + AC (@JUNIUS_64) June 21, 2018 Telomeres are like shoelace caps on the ends of your chromosomes- a buffer zone, codes for nothing, keeps it from unwraveling look, here’s yours, the little white spots on these human chromosomes how do these things relate to our inevitable decline into death? here’s the deal pic.twitter.com/sD9yvIIHZV — labcoat lesbian @ NYC Pride + AC (@JUNIUS_64) June 21, 2018 It’s one sequence, over and over, for humans: TTAGGG every time your cells divide, they lose a little bit off the end of the telomeres, which fails to be replicated. At birth your telomeres are 11,000 bases long, when you’re old and gray they’re about 4,000 bases long — labcoat lesbian @ NYC Pride + AC (@JUNIUS_64) June 21, 2018 There’s something called the Hayflick limit, and that’s why you and I die When the telomeres reach a critical length, the cells just stop dividing pic.twitter.com/4HAUULd0fN — labcoat lesbian @ NYC Pride + AC (@JUNIUS_64) June 21, 2018 “fuck the Hayflick limit, I do what I want” is the motto of cancer, and the motto of lobsters because they produce heaps of telomerase. telomerase is a really nifty enzyme, it carries its own RNA template to build back the lost ends of the telomeres! pic.twitter.com/gWuIuM6jcZ — labcoat lesbian @ NYC Pride + AC (@JUNIUS_64) June 21, 2018 Humans make telomerase too. But we make less and less as we age. We’re coded to just let senescence and death happen, and a lot of people have a lot of theories why If you’ve got cells that constantly produce shitloads of telomerase and never stop, you’ve got cancer, my friend — labcoat lesbian @ NYC Pride + AC (@JUNIUS_64) June 21, 2018 as a teen I used to like Family Guy (dunk on me, I deserve it lmao) and what’s funny is, in that one episode when high-Stewie asked “what if the only reason we die is because we accept it as an inevitability”, he was kinda right our biology encodes death as an inevitability — labcoat lesbian @ NYC Pride + AC (@JUNIUS_64) June 21, 2018 Death is still an inevitability though, whether our biology encodes a plan for it or not entropy always comes for its due, and that’s what even lobsters must accept — labcoat lesbian @ NYC Pride + AC (@JUNIUS_64) June 21, 2018 lobsters still lose in the very end. Telomerase tricks buy time, they will never experience senescence- the decline towards death- but it still comes at some point that point is typically molting — labcoat lesbian @ NYC Pride + AC (@JUNIUS_64) June 21, 2018 Lobsters never age. they keep growing and growing and growing. but their skeleton is on the outside, and it isn’t exactly flexible. They need to molt and grow a new shell once they outgrow the old one this is a very, very energetically taxing and dangerous affair — labcoat lesbian @ NYC Pride + AC (@JUNIUS_64) June 21, 2018 Lobsters molt the easiest in mid-life. molting casualties are highest in the very young and the very old very young lobsters molt a LOT, because they’re growing a lot- 44 molts in their first year. this leaves them squishy and vulnerable, and is quite energetically taxing — labcoat lesbian @ NYC Pride + AC (@JUNIUS_64) June 21, 2018 An ancient lobster colossus may not have as many predator concerns during a molt, compared to the young’uns (still watch out for sea turtles tho) but the energy costs are what kills. Moving out of an enormous shell takes an enormous effort past a certain point they just can’t — labcoat lesbian @ NYC Pride + AC (@JUNIUS_64) June 21, 2018 at a certain point, the effort of moving out just cannot be mustered by their metabolism. it’s done. when a mega-lobster entirely stops molting, the game is drawing to a close at that point they’re trapped in their shells, which accumulate parasites and bacteria — labcoat lesbian @ NYC Pride + AC (@JUNIUS_64) June 21, 2018 I have not been able to find research on whether it’s disease or simply being squeezed in that kills in the end. I would love to talk to an actual invertebrate biologist on this stuff because it’s so fascinating — labcoat lesbian @ NYC Pride + AC (@JUNIUS_64) June 21, 2018 This research would be incredibly hard to accomplish because you would have to either raise or track a good sample size of 100-200 year old lobsters, which are extremely rare — labcoat lesbian @ NYC Pride + AC (@JUNIUS_64) June 21, 2018 I’ve also heard that some will simply die of exhaustion mid-molt, but lack the data on the relative proportions of all these fates — labcoat lesbian @ NYC Pride + AC (@JUNIUS_64) June 21, 2018 but yeah. it’s quite amusing, if silly and unscientific, to think of it in a poetic sense. It’s like lobsters have made a deal with the devil, and the devil always gets his due — labcoat lesbian @ NYC Pride + AC (@JUNIUS_64) June 21, 2018 Hit the flip for a short Q&A session.

S acramento activists want to see justice for the recent police-involved death of a Black father, Brandon Smith . They also want the day to finally come when the police officers involved in Stephon Clark ‘s fatal shooting are fired, charged, tried and convicted for his death. Related: Stephon Clark Didn’t Receive CPR For Nearly 6 Minutes After Being Fired At 20 Times Black Lives Matter (BLM) activists gathered outside of Sacramento City Hall Thursday on the third day of their “8 Days, 8 Shots” civil disobedience demonstrations for Smith and Clark. The protests, beginning on Tuesday, will last until next Wednesday — one day for each of the eight times that Clark, 22, was shot on March 18 — Ryan McClinton , a community organizer for advocacy group Sacramento Area Congregations Together, told the Sacramento Bee . Police accountability for the death of Smith, 30, who died from unknown causes while in police custody two weeks ago, was also a top priority for BLM. Today was day 2 of #8Days8Shots a collective protest of community leaders calling for #Justice4StephonClark #Justice4BrandonSmith Tomorrow we at City Hall to continue being Civilly Disobedient in the name of EQUITY and FREEDOM. (Truth be told we ain't free.) @Blklivesmatter pic.twitter.com/HdB1YCn44e — BlackLivesMatter Sac (@BLMSacramento) June 21, 2018 Smith, a father of three, took his last breaths during a ride to the Sacramento County Jail on June 6. He was transported by an unidentified Sacramento police officer, having called for medical help during the ride, body camera footage released on June 13 revealed. “I’m f—– up. I feel like I’m having a heart attack,”Smith is heard in the video saying. “Oh my god,” he continued, as a Sacramento officer took him to a police truck. He was placed in the vehicle before he fell on the metal floor. Once the car arrived at the jail, Smith was discovered unresponsive, the Bee reported. It’s important to note that the report said that despite Smith’s pleas for help, no attention, including CPR, was given to him until after he was found out cold. He was later pronounced dead at a local hospital, with his death being similar to that of Freddie Gray , 25, who died in Baltimore police custody in April 2015. Black Lives Matter Sacramento activists are protesting for eight days outside of City Hall. They’re demanding justice for Stephon Clark and Brandon Smith: two black men who died during encounters with Sacramento police. https://t.co/oTdmlvwg7U — The Appeal (@theappeal) June 21, 2018 Gray’s death set off major unrest in Baltimore before Sacramento activists began protesting Smith and Clark’s deaths. Watch silent ‘8 days, 8 shots’ protest protest at Sacramento Police Department https://t.co/ycExBbV4Z5 — The Sacramento Bee (@sacbee_news) June 21, 2018 The Sacramento Police Department has kept fairly quiet about the officers involved in Clark’s shooting. The cops’ names have not been officially disclosed. However, civil rights attorney John Burris identified them as Terrence Mercadal and Jared Robinet after the department released footage of the shooting on March 21. Mercadal and Robinet were put on paid administrative, but then returned to work in a non-patrol capacity on April 9, according to the Bee. Sacramento County district attorney Anne Marie Schubert won a June 5 primary despite no charges having been brought against the officers for Clark’s death. Schubert blamed the police for the slow investigation, saying the department had not brought their case to her, ABC10 reported. Activists want Schubert and the department to know that no justice equals no peace. Source: Instagram / Instagram Earlier this month, rumors about Instagram looking to take on YouTube by allowing users to upload hour long videos were in the air. Yesterday (June 20), we found out Instagram was dead serious about the idea. Via its blog, I Instagram announced they now have a global community of 1 billion users and a new standalone app, IGTV, that will allow users to watch and upload long-form content. The videos will be presented in vertical format catering to the fact that is how most people use their form. So you can expect hour-long content from your favorite IG creators. Now if you don’t want to download another app, Instagram will allow users to view the content from the original Instagram app. IGTV will be like turning on your TV; videos will play as soon as you open the app we are not sure that is super necessary. Hopefully, there will be an option to turn that feature off. IGTV will also feature channels just like TV but “the creators are the channels.” Instagram states “you can swipe up to discover more — switch between “For You,” “Following,” “Popular” and “Continue Watching.” You can also like, comment and send videos to friends in Direct.” You don’t have to a have a huge following to start your channel because on IGTV anyone fits the mold. Users will be able to upload videos via the app or web to launch your channel. It sounds like YouTube has a new challenger to worry about in IGTV and with a billion users behind it the opportunity to dethrone the video sharing platform is very achievable. IGTV’s app will launch on Android and iOS in the next few weeks. The service is live on Instagram right now. Are you guys excited about IGTV? Is Instagram doing too much? Let us know in the comments below. Source: Instagram / Instagram — Photo: Instagram
