Let that lady cook! The Adventure Oasis Water Park is under fire for booting out a woman for wearing a too-small bikini . Via NY Daily News reports : A Missouri woman is putting on a brave face after she was reportedly kicked out of a water park because of her full figure. Madelyn Sheaffer had just lost 100 pounds and felt confident enough in her skin to wear a bikini to the Adventure Oasis Water Park. After employees told her to cover up or leave, the Independence woman decided to speak out. “I just felt like I was singled out,” Sheaffer told KSHB. “I felt like it was both age and body discrimination.” The woman was in the swimming pool with her niece and nephew when two park employees allegedly walked up to her and asked her to throw on some shorts. They said her bottoms were too small. Unfazed, Sheaffer asked to speak to a higher-up. The manager sang the same tune and showed her the exit in case she didn’t want to comply with the demand. But Sheaffer says that the younger girls at the pool wore similar swimsuits and were not being told to cover up. “There are 16- or 18-year-old girls wearing just the same amount and no one’s criticizing them or making them feel ashamed or feel uncomfortable in their bodies,” Sheaffer said. The woman has filed a complaint against Adventure Oasis Water Park. A representative from the City of Independence told KSHB that managers have the last word when it comes to deciding whether or not a customer is wearing appropriate clothing. But Sheaffer didn’t understand what she’d done wrong. “It’s summer time. It’s a swimming pool,” she said. “I’m wearing a swimming suit.” Hey, she looks alright to us! SMH @ them doing that. Miami Sports Bar Deck Collapses According to The Miami Herald A deck behind the popular Shuckers sports bar in North Bay Village collapsed Thursday night, spilling scores of customers watching the Miami Heat vs. San Antonio Spurs game into Biscayne Bay. Dozens of police and fire-rescue units rushed to the scene after the sudden collapse, which happened about 9:45 p.m., minutes before the game’s halftime. At least two dozen people were injured, and by 11:20 p.m. 15 people had been transported to various hospitals,. three of them in serious condition, said Miami-Dade Fire Rescue Capt. Eugene Germain Jr. He said approximately 100 people were on the deck when it fell into the water. As helicopters circled over the scene, rescuers carried people away on stretchers, one after another. Another fire captain said one person might be missing and that a search was underway. Chris Volz, 39, said he was sitting at the western end of the bar, about 10 feet from where the deck gave way. “Everybody’s watching the game. It sounded like a freight train, then everyone was gone. The deck went down like a V.” He said it happened in a split second and that no one had a chance to get away. He said bartenders were diving into the water to help rescue the patrons. Fire trucks pulled to the water’s edge and extended their ladders over the water to help the patrons climb to safety. Shuckers, at 1819 79th Street Causeway, lost power when the collapse happened, casting victims and rescuers alike into the dark. Hernan Reyes, 21, and friend Crystal Infante, 23, were eating and watching then game when the deck, about five feet over the water, collapsed. Infante said the water was shallow enough for them to stand, but it was difficult for them to get out because wood, umbrellas, tables, chairs and other debris currounded them. “There was a crack, and then we were in the water,” Infante said. “There was just a crack, and then we were in the water….It was really hard to get out, and you coudln’t find anyone.” By 11 p.m., a triage unit had been set up in the parking lot, and victims were still being removed from the water.. Traffic on the 79th Street Causeway was closed off in both directions. Police and rescue units from North Bay Village, Miami-Dade County, Miami, Miami Beach and El Portal were on the scene within minutes. The Real Housewives of New Jersey opens up season 5 with a “Garden State of Emergency” and we recap all of the ignorance and attitude in our THG +/- review. The Housewives return to the Jersey Shore to witness the devastation of Hurricane Sandy. Entire neighborhoods are destroyed and as someone who spent summers at the Jersey Shore, it is heartbreaking to witness. Of course it’s s little hard to shed any tears for the housewives as they tour their once opulent vacation homes. Minus 15 . As Caroline points out, there are real people whose only homes got swept away by the storm. Teresa laments how she could have “drownded” if she’d been there. Plus 10. It’s been a long time since I’ve heard Teresa-ism. And Melissa stares wide eyed and wonders aloud how the water could possibly have gotten inside their house. Minus 18. I just wanted to turn her around and show her the water lapping at her deck on a calm day. What part of hurricane does she not understand? Of course the storm did bring about some good. Speaking of the little princess, she grows more obnoxious with each passing season but it’s hard to blame her once you meet her parents. Teresa is obviously in over her head with this one already. The play date is civil at best. The kids are fine…it’s the grown ups that can’t pull it together. First off, I actually agreed with Teresa (and that doesn’t happen often). Melissa needed to leave the kids alone to make their own damn necklaces. Minus 12 . They’re little girls. It doesn’t have to be perfect to be fun. And Teresa almost had me again when she made the offer to move her daughter’s Communion party so that the grandparents didn’t have to choose. Plus 20 ….up until she had to take the jab that she was willing to be the bigger person. Sigh. The bigger person doesn’t actually point that out. Minus 8. Over in Hoboken, Caroline and Al have rented a cool apartment overlooking the city. Plus 25 …but is this about downsizing or staying close to her boys? Either way, Hoboken’s a fun little city and the views are awesome. It was actually kind of nice to see Caroline giving Joe Gorga a shoulder to lean on, considering the women in his life are all a little nuts. I have no doubt it will come back to bite her. And Jaqueline seems to have extricated herself from the drama, although I doubt that will last long. Watching her family handle Nicholas’ autism is both heartbreaking and uplifting. It really seems to have brought them closer together as a family. Plus 30. Kathy was so irrelevant that I can’t even come up with a comment for her short segment. But as this hour ends and a new season begins I was left with one question… Who should win the trashiest comment of the night? -Joe Guidice referring to Melissa Gorga as a “skank ass beyotch” or… -Jacqueline Laurita announcing that the Gorga /Guidice drama is “right up there on my priority list with bleaching my assh*le.” That’s a tough one. But have faith RHONJ fans. The way this season is looking, Bravo is breeding their next round of reality TV stars right here. LeSean McCoy Sued For Assault According to TMZ NFL superstar has been sued by a woman who claims the running back humiliated her on a party bus — sprayed her with a beverage — and then booted her from the ride on the side of the Jersey Turnpike. According to the lawsuit filed by a woman using the alias “Mary Roe” … the Philadelphia Eagles RB had invited 15 women to join him on a party bus that went from Philly to a NYC nightclub on December 18, 2012. During the trip, the lawsuit alleges, McCoy, along with his bodyguard and a couple of other guys, began to spray some of the women with water. Roe claims she protested the water spraying … so McCoy ordered his bodyguard Big John to “get her.” In the suit, filed May 10 in Philadelphia, the woman claims McCoy and/or Big John proceeded to hit her in the face, causing her to fall to the ground. While she was on the floor, the men allegedly physically restrained her and poured a beverage onto her hair, clothes and body. And if things couldn’t get worse … the woman claims McCoy and Big John then forcibly ejected her from the party bus on the side of the New Jersey Turnpike. But some of the women allegedly complained to McCoy about Roe getting the boot — so she was snatched back up from the side of the road and placed back on the bus. The woman claims she was taken to a nearby rest stop — where the football player once again ditched her — and continued on with his party trip. Roe is now suing for more than $50,000 in damages for assault and battery, intentional infliction of emotional distress, false imprisonment and negligence. Roe says she suffered head trauma, a disc protrusion on her spine, bad sprains, contusions and bruises all over her body, and severe shock. New Jersey State Police Sergeant Brian Polite tells us … officers did meet with a woman at a rest stop near the Jersey Turnpike on December 19, who claimed she had an altercation with a male on a party bus. Sgt. Polite tells us … during the initial meeting with the accuser, she never named McCoy as her attacker. LeSean McCoy is adamant … he NEVER assaulted a woman on a party bus back in December — and claims his accuser is just trying to shake him down for some cash. TMZ spoke with McCoy’s lawyer, Andrew M. Smith, who tells us, “The allegations against LeSean McCoy are completely, unequivocally false.” Smith continues, “There are no criminal charges pending [against McCoy] and no probable cause was ever found.” McCoy’s lawyer says, “This is sadly an attempt to extract money and LeSean will vigorously defend any attempt to collect money through a personal injury claim.” How do you wait until like five months later to sue for assault? This is truly a blessing. A woman survived 17 days under the rubble of a Bangladesh factory building where over 1,000 people were killed . Via NY Daily News reports : A seamstress buried in the wreckage of a collapsed garment factory building for 17 days was rescued Friday, a miraculous moment set against a scene of unimaginable horror, where the death toll shot past 1,000. Reshma survived, in remarkably good shape, by eating dried food that was in her area and drinking spare amounts of water with her. She was discovered on the second floor of the eight-story Rana Plaza building, where crews have been focused on recovering bodies, not rescuing survivors, for much of the past two weeks. “I heard voices of the rescue workers for the past several days. I kept hitting the wreckage with sticks and rods just to attract their attention,” she told the private Somoy TV from her hospital bed as doctors and nurses milled about, giving her saline and checking her condition. “No one heard me. It was so bad for me. I never dreamed I’d see the daylight again,” she said. “There was some dried food around me. I ate the dried food for 15 days. The last two days I had nothing but water. I used to drink only a limited quantity of water to save it. I had some bottles of water around me,” she said. Once Reshma finally got their attention, the crews ordered the cranes and bulldozers to immediately stop work and used handsaws and welding and drilling equipment to cut through the iron rod and debris still trapping her. They gave her water, oxygen and saline as they worked to free her. When Reshma was freed after 40 minutes, the crowd erupted in wild cheers. She was rushed to a military hospital in an ambulance, but her rescuers said she was in shockingly good condition, despite her ordeal. Abdur Razzak, a warrant officer with the military’s engineering department who first spotted her in the wreckage, said she could even walk. “She was fine, no injuries. She was just trapped. The space was wide,” said Lt. Col. Moyeen, an army official at the scene. Reshma told her rescuers there were no more survivors in her area. Workers began tearing through the nearby rubble anyway, hoping to find another person alive. “Reshma told me there were three others with her. They died. She did not see anybody else alive there,” said Maj. Gen. Chowdhury Hasan Suhrawardy, the head of the local military units. “We will continue our search until a survivor or a dead body is there.” The woman survived for more than two weeks in temperatures that touched the mid 90s (mid 30s Celsius). She scrounged for whatever food she could find, Suhrawardy said. Then, when the workers with bulldozers and cranes got close to the area where she was trapped, she took a still pipe and began banging it to attract attention, Razzak said. The workers ran into the dark rubble, eventually getting flashlights, to free her, he said. Reshma’s mother and her sister, Asma, rushed to the hospital to meet her. Hundreds of people who had been engaged in the grim job of removing decomposing bodies from the site raised their hands together in prayer for her survival. “Allah, you are the greatest, you can do anything. Please allow us all to rescue the survivor just found,” said a man on a loudspeaker leading the supplicants. “We seek apology for our sins. Please pardon us, pardon the person found alive.” Workers at the site had been clearing the rubble since the collapse April 24. More than 2,500 people were rescued in the immediate aftermath of the disaster. However, no survivors had been found in the wreckage since April 28, when Shahin Akter was found amid the wreckage. As workers tried to free her, a fire broke out and she died of smoke inhalation. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, called Reshma in the hospital, and the rescued woman began crying on the phone, Suhrawardy said. She told Hasina: “I am fine, please pray for me,” he said. It’s truly a miracle Reshma survived, we pray that she is able to overcome the trauma from her experience. The government has been under extreme criticism over the conditions of their garment industry. With two major disasters striking this month, clearly some changes need to be made.
