Tyler, The Creator Wants To Produce For Lil Wayne

‘I actually have this beat that I want him on,’ MC tells MTV News of Weezy, an admitted Odd Future fan. By Rob Markman Tyler, the Creator Photo: FilmMagic Odd Future can now add Lil Wayne to their already-rabid fanbase. While on the set of Birdman’s “Y.U. Mad” video in Miami on October 15, Weezy — who was rocking a MellowHype T-shirt — told MTV News how he supports the Cali collective . “I just rock with ’em. Shout-out my man Taco; that’s my dude,” Weezy F. said of OF and Taco in particular. “I’m just real cool with the homies. Shouts out, Tyler.” Well, for OF de facto frontman , the admiration is mutual. “Wayne’s cool. I ran into him at my hangout back home, and he’s just cool,” Tyler told MTV News. Tyler also has dreams of working with Wayne, but he hasn’t yet built up the courage to tap his manager Christian Clancy to help put the plan in motion. “I actually have this beat that I want him on, but I was too scared to get it to Clancy to get it to them, but Wayne’s cool.” When they met, the two rappers didn’t get to speak long, and it was Weezy who dominated the conversation. “I wanted to kinda fan out and sh–,” Tyler admitted, “but he gave me a speech about how happy he was that I won a VMA and that seeing my mom go crazy kinda made him feel like he won it too, because that sh– was real as f—.” While the Goblin rapper and producer was taken aback by Weezy’s props, he was disappointed that he didn’t get to speak his piece and talk about his favorite Weezy mixtape. “He sat there for three minutes giving me a speech, and I’m like, ‘I just wanted to say that Da Drought 3 was my sh–,’ and I couldn’t,” Tyler said with disappointment. During his OFWGKTA hangout session, Weezy and members of the ragtag crew skated at Supreme Store in L.A. Though many have been critical of Tunechi’s affinity for skateboarding, Tyler, who is a lifelong skater, is supportive. “It’s just weird when people from a different world come into our world,” he said. “But then again, he’s just f—in’ having fun. That’s what people don’t get and sh–. He’s learning, and I think it’s cool that he takes the time out of his day to just do some f—in’ sh– that makes him happy for the day. I just wish people would realize sh– like that.” Related Artists Tyler, The Creator Lil Wayne Odd Future

Drake And Lil Wayne’s ‘The Real Her’ Leaks Online

It is unclear if the track will appear on Drizzy’s upcoming Take Care. By Rob Markman Lil Wayne and Drake Photo: Kevin Winter/Getty Images Drake ‘s Take Care is finally complete. After a short delay that moved his original release date from October 24 to November 15, Drizzy handed the final cut into the label Wednesday and is now gearing up to promote his sophomore album. Last week, Drake dropped “Make Me Proud,” his new single featuring Nicki Minaj, and on Thursday night, another possible Take Care track hit the Internet. Though it wasn’t posted on his October’s Very Own blog like previous album singles “Headlines” and “Marvins Room,” the brand-new “The Real Her,” featuring Lil Wayne , made waves online . As of now, it is unclear whether the slow and sultry track, on which Drake sings throughout, will appear on Take Care. It begins with a start-and-stop piano intro, then about eight bars in, Drizzy starts to sing, “People around you should really have nothing to say/ Me I’m just proud of the fact that you’ve done it your way.” The song’s bridge connects “The Real Her” to Drake’s classic “Houstatlantavegas” from his 2009 So Far Gone mixtape. He softly croons, “Houston girls love the way it goes down, Atlanta girls love the way it goes down, Vegas girls love the way it goes down,” drawing a distinct parallel to the song that Drake said inspired the story line on Take Care. “It was a world that was very much real to me, but I created it in my mind. It was a world that, being a kid from Toronto, I used to look at from the outside and I used to be like, ‘Man that looks crazy,’ ” he told MTV News of the fictional city Houstatlantavegas. “All those strip clubs and all those nightclubs and the drinks and the girls and the fame.” In his quest to find something real in a superficial world of fast love and even faster heartbreak, Drake invites Lil Wayne to rap about his experiences with the fairer sex. ” ‘Cause to her I’m just a rapper and soon she’ll have met another/ And if tonight was just an accident, tomorrow we’ll recover,” Weezy spits in almost a spoken-word flow. The five-minute-plus song ends with no resolve, instead closing out with the hook, on which Drake charges, “You must’ve done this before, this can’t be your first time.” And the hunt for Ms. Right goes on. Lil Wayne, Bow Wow Collabo ‘Sweat’ Almost Didn’t Happen

Mack Maine was reluctant to green-light a second Wayne/ Bow Wow track, producer Detail tells Mixtape Daily. By Rob Markman Lil Wayne Photo: FilmMagic Behind the Beats: Detail Bow Wow has a bone to pick with the industry. After breaking into rap as a kid at the age of 13 in 2000, the now grown-up Bow is feeling a little Underrated, as the title of his upcoming December 6 Cash Money album suggests. For his latest single, “Sweat,” the now 24-year-old Bow Wow recruited Lil Wayne for a feature and producer Detail for the track. “Obviously everybody knows I got a very diverse sound — I can do pop, I can do rock, I can do hip-hop, R&B,” the very confident “How to Love” beatmaker told Mixtape Daily. “For me it’s just a matter of studying the artist and kinda coming up with a formula that’s more natural for them.” On “Sweat,” Detail laid a slow-rolling, pulsating pop track for Bow, who often seems to struggle with getting fans to accept that he is no longer the little pup he once was. Bow sings in Auto-Tune over the track, creating an aura of sexual seduction with his explicit lyrics. Wayne of course adds his unique brand of flirtatious, double-timed raps. As good as the single sounds, Detail told Mixtape Daily that the collaboration almost didn’t come to pass. Wayne and Bow Wow had already cut a record together, and Young Money president Mack Maine was in no big rush to make a second track. That changed when Detail sent him the beat after the two talked at Wayne’s Tha Carter IV release party in Los Angeles. “At Lil Wayne’s Carter IV release party, I was talking to [Maine] about the ‘Sweat’ record. He hadn’t even heard [it]. He was like, ‘[Wayne] already got a record with Bow Wow,’ ” Detail recalled of his and Mack’s conversation. Given Detail’s track record for crafting hit singles with Young Money, Mack agreed to listen to the beat, which the producer sent him right away. “He hit me back and said, ‘Damn that bitch is a beast,’ ” Detail said. “So when he said that, I knew off the top that this motherf—er gonna go.” For other artists featured in Mixtape Daily, check out Mixtape Daily Headlines .

Lil Wayne Prepping Human Being And Rebirth Sequels

‘He’s, like, 12 songs in, and he went crazy,’ Mack Maine tells MTV News. By Rob Markman Lil Wayne Photo: MTV News Lil Wayne already has a super successful franchise in Tha Carter series , so why would he want to rest on his laurels? Young Money Records President Mack Maine exclusively revealed to MTV News that not only is Weezy about to lay down tracks for a sequel to his Rebirth rock album, but the “How to Love” hitmaker is already knee-deep in recording a follow-up to 2010’s I Am Not a Human Being LP. “He’s, like, 12 songs in, and he went crazy. He went left. He’s in Martian land right now,” Mack said of I Am Not a Human Being 2. The original Human Being was released digitally in September 2010 while Birdman Jr. was in jail. Though Wayne wasn’t around to promote it, the album contained singles like “Right Above” with Drake and “I’m Single” and has been certified gold by the RIAA. The physical copy of the album debuted at #1 when it dropped in October 2010. According to the YM prez, each separate album franchise allows Wayne the chance to showcase different artistic sides. “He gets to show his rock side, he gets to show his gangsta side and talk to the women on one side,” Mack said of the Rebirth and Carter series, respectively. “On I Am Not a Human Being, he is definitely showing some weirdo, left-brain, I’m-not-from-here type side. He can say what he wants. There are no boundaries, there are no limits.” However diverse he may be in the booth, when Wayne performs live, he is able to pool all his collective talents together — as well as their respective fans. “He captures all those different audiences, and then at a concert or a show, you bring all those different people together,” Mack explained. “You bring your Rebirth rock people, you bring your Carter people, and you bring your I Am Not a Human Being [crowd], and you have a great show. That’s why we sell out arenas every night.” There is no release date yet for I Am Not a Human Being 2 or Rebirth 2. Are you anticipating Lil Wayne’s two new albums? Tell us in the comments!
