Monyetta Shaw gave birth Monday, singer’s rep confirms. By Jocelyn Vena Ne-Yo Photo: Jeffrey Mayer/ WireImage Just a month after announcing he and his girlfriend, Monyetta Shaw, were expecting their second child together, a rep for Ne-Yo confirmed to People.com that the pair welcomed a child Monday. Further details about the baby were not available, but Ne-Yo has always been open about his love of being a dad. “[My daughter] definitely knows her worth, which is a beautiful thing. That’s something I’ve tried to instill in her from day one: understand that you are a Godsend,” Ne-Yo said of the values he’s teaching his kids. “You’re an absolute angel, and people are supposed to treat you that way. She’s extremely diva even at 10 months.” When news first broke about the pregnancy, it was reported that Ne-Yo and Shaw, who own an Atlanta boutique together, also had plans to marry. He later dismissed the rumor on Twitter: “Ok twit fam. To put all rumors to rest. Not engaged but am expecting second child,” Ne-Yo tweeted. “Mo has no rep. The person claiming to be her rep lied. Thanx for the interest in my personal. Know that the day that I DO decide to take that step you will hear it from the horse’s mouth. Much love.” Ne-Yo (born Shaffer Chimere Smith) welcomed his first child, daughter Madilyn Grace, back in November 2010 and was ecstatic about becoming a father. “Feels like I’m in luv for the first time,” he tweeted at the time. “Welcoming that lil’ girl to the world last night defined for me what ‘willing to kill and die for’ truly means. My world, my life, all hers.” Share your well-wishes for the couple in the comments below! Related Artists Ne-Yo
Singer is seen dancing on roof of a car in footage posted online. By Jocelyn Vena Lady Gaga Photo: Kevin Mazur/WireImage Lady Gaga is keeping the wedding reception going for a little bit longer. The singer has once again been spotted in New York filming scenes for her “Marry the Night” video. In footage posted online, Gaga dances on the roof of a car as she sings the bridge from the song. She then slides down the car and begins rolling around on the hood as the chorus kicks in. She’s dressed in black, with a blond bob wig and black heels. It’s visibly raining out as she shoots, but in the footage she appears unfazed by the weather. In some photos posted on Hypable , the singer is sporting a very goth look, including a black bra top, hot pants and over-the-knee boots. A photo posted on Aceshowbiz.com is reportedly from a set-up in Harlem earlier in the day on Thursday. In it, the star wears bright blue lipstick and a leather romper. The website reports that at the Harlem shoot she performed with male dancers and was also spotted in a long-sleeve red dress with padded shoulders. Earlier this week Lady Gaga was in Staten Island shooting parts of the video at the Snug Harbor Cultural Center, and MTV News spoke to the Center’s CEO, Lynn Kelly, who was very excited that Gaga decided to film there. “We found both her and her crew to be easy to work with and low-key,” Kelly told us. “I think we would have expected a lot of drama, and the truth is, she is probably the most down-to-earth person. It was endearing. She was friendly and kind. “I think, for us, we’re so excited to have someone of her talent, and to have somebody like that shoot here is a sheer honor,” she continued. “What her music does for music is so much more than entertainment. It’s connecting to the arts on a much deeper level, and that’s what I hope we can do here.” Related Artists Lady Gaga

In celebration of the FBR’s 15th anniversary, the label’s biggest bands rifle through its back catalog. By James Montgomery Paramore Photo: MTV News In 1996, Fueled By Ramen released the now-famous Take-Out Sampler, a cassette compilation that came packaged to look like it was ordered from your neighborhood Chinese restaurant. Last week, they released Cobra Starship ‘s Night Shades, the 130-somethingth album to bear the FBR name … and no, it wasn’t available on cassette. Still, that should give you a pretty good idea of just how far the label has come over the course of 15 years. And this week, FBR will celebrate its ongoing legacy with a pair of shows at New York’s Terminal 5 — Wednesday night’s show, featuring Paramore, the Swellers, This Providence, the Stereo and fun., will stream live on MTV.com beginning at 7 p.m. ET. And we here at MTV News are doing our part to aid in the festivities. We’ve already brought you some of the label’s biggest bands recalling the moment they signed with FBR , and now, those same bands are talking to us about their favorite albums from the label’s rather expansive back catalog. From Fall Out Boy and Panic! at the Disco to Jimmy Eat World and Discount, here are their picks. Cassettes not included. Travie McCoy and Matt McGinley, Gym Class Heroes McGinley : “I’m going to go with Take This to Your Grave, by Fall Out Boy. You might have heard of them. [It’s a] super awesome record, and we definitely listened to it on repeat in the van all the time.” McCoy : “It’s beautiful how they kind of hid such dark and demented lyrics in such happy and poppy punk music. Genius.” McCoy : “The Academy Is … Almost Here. Front to back, it’s an amazing, amazing album, and it shoots us back to when we used to tour with those guys all the time.” McGinley : “Panic! at the Disco’s A Fever You Can’t Sweat Out !” McCoy : “I remember hearing some of the demos for that album, and I was blown away and when the record actually came out, it was like, ‘Wow, these dudes are about to smash, and they tore it up.” Paramore ‘s Hayley Williams : “A really awesome release … was [the] Jimmy Eat World EP, and it had early versions of the Clarity songs. I think it makes this list because we love Jimmy Eat World so much, and it’s so awesome that they released something on our label. We’re really proud of that.” “My all-time favorite FBR release is the Impossibles’ Anthology, it’s sort of all the best Impossibles songs, and it’s incredible. They’re kind of like if Weezer were ska.” “When we were writing Brand New Eyes, I sent an email to some folks at the label requesting some music. I actually got back a Discount EP … they did a cover EP of Billy Brag songs called Love, Billy, and the cover art was really cool, I remember liking that a lot. I just really like Discount. If you don’t know who [they] are, you should check them out; I don’t know if I’m allowed to say this or not, but it may or may not be Alison from the Kills and Dead Weather fronting a pop/punk band. It’s awesome and there’s so much cool, raw energy, and her voice is great. I love the music and I think it’s very telling of that time in music for pop/punk music. Good stuff.” Help MTV celebrate Fueled by Ramen’s 15th anniversary on Wednesday, September 7, as we present a live party featuring some of your favorite FBR acts, including Paramore. Keri Hilson was caught backstage in Las Vegas going in on her personal assistant so hard they had to be separated by security. According to Page Six , after performing her hits “Pretty Girl Rock,” “Turnin Me On” and “Knock You Down” to a crowd at Haze at the Aria Resort and Casino, Miss Keri came off stage and realized that her aide hadn’t removed a tag from the black harem pants she was wearing, spies said. “Hilson lost it,” one source said. “She was screaming at her assistant for ‘not being able to do anything right.’ [She] railed that the assistant also forgot to ‘pack her eye drops and throat spray.’ ” The peon didn’t respond kindly, saying, “Oh, hell no!” and Hilson’s security guard and manager intervened before the pop star, touring with Lil Wayne, stormed off. Hilson’s rep told us, “Keri did ask her assistant to bring her eyedrops/throat spray as she was feeling under the weather, but there was no altercation. Keri has had the same road staff, from assistant to security, for a few years now.” After the show, Hilson Tweeted, “Shout out to all the PARTY PEOPLE at HAZE tonight!!!! One of my favorite trends this summer was the maxi dress and thankfully we can take this trend into the fall. Pair your summer maxi dress with a cardigan sweater or a denim jacket and when the weather gets colder you can upgrade to heavier fabrics or one with long sleeves. ‘It looks more like a big city and less like a stage,’ Florian Wieder explains. By Gil Kaufman Chris Brown performs at the 2011 VMAs Photo: Jeff Kravitz/Film Magic When you settled in on the couch at home on Sunday night to watch the 2011 Video Music Awards , it probably felt like you were going back to the future. As in years past, the main stage for the show was a visual spectacle. This year the theme was time travel, and the stage’s designer was intent on making you feel as if you were on a mind-tripping journey. “We met up half a year ago and [VMA Executive Producer Jesse Ignjatovic] came up with the idea to create a time tunnel,” explained VMA main stage production designer Florian Wieder of the psychedelic set that looked like a cross between an alien landing ship, the floor of a 1970s disco and the baddest midnight laser-light show ever. “That’s one of the reasons why the whole design is based on a tunnel that is right in the center of the stage.” Like the pre-show , which shared some of the same curvy, intergalactic whimsy, the main broadcast mixed undulating wave forms with bright, pop-art-style colors and a black and white theme to set the stage for a galaxy of performers, including Adele, Lady Gaga, Jay-Z and Kanye West, Beyonc
