According to Jojo, who penned What If Jussie Smollett Is Telling The Truth? for BET, Jussie “didn’t even want to contact police” to begin with. “He was weary and didn’t care for the unnecessary attention it might garner. His choreographer insisted, and the choreographer contacted the police himself,” Jojo wrote in the op-ed, also claiming Jussie is now suffering mentally. The Empire actor has since been acquitted but faces a civil lawsuit from the city of Chicago who claims he intentionally misled police . “I WAS SHOCKED AT HOW EASILY easily everyone accepted the ridiculous motive about Jussie’s career that was promulgated. Jussie had actually begun directing episodes of Empire , which brought additional compensation. He worked out a deal with Fox to own 100% of his music masters, released an album, which lead to a sold out world tour and he donated every cent of ticket sales to charity,” he wrote. “He even signed the group, June’s Diary, to his label. My brother was developing two films with one of the biggest producers in Hollywood, had the lead to a Broadway show on the table and owns the option rights to the authorized autobiography of his idol, Alvin Ailey. The gentleman who was also hit in the shooting has been given his freedom back. As reported by Page Six Kerry Lathan has been released from a detention center in California on Saturday, April 20. The Los Angle native witnessed the assassination of the “Racks In The Middle” rapper on March 31 where he too took a bullet to his back. Upon his release from the hospital, he was promptly put into police custody. As a felon who served 25 years for murder being with a known gang member was in direct violation of his parole terms. Luckily the legal system was able to apply common sense to his situation. His lawyer Lauren Noriega claimed that the 56-year-old was at the scene by chance. “He wasn’t there to propose any business to Nipsey . He had no idea that Nipsey would be there” Noriega explained. Previous reports alleged Nipsey was meeting him to give him free clothes. Lathan suffered a stroke while in custody and still has the bullet lodged in his back. I just wanted every kid to get a chance to build something,” Warren wrote on Twitter. “That’s why I’ve fought so hard to end the student debt crisis & invest in opportunities for America’s young people.” The 2020 presidential candidate’s proposal would cancel up to $50,000 in debt for people with an annual household income of under $100,000 (your average American). According to the Los Angeles Times, anything beyond that income threshold, “smaller amounts of debt would be canceled but no one with more than $250,000 in household income would be eligible.” In her plan to make educational debt more manageable, Warren also proposed free tuition for 2-4 year public colleges. LA Times reports: At issue is the top economic challenge for a key Democratic constituency — millennial voters, many of whom have gone to college and left school during a decade that has seen an explosion of student borrowing. Student loan debt has more than doubled, to about $1.5 trillion, over the last decade, according to a Federal Reserve report that found the trend has contributed to declining rates of homeownership among young adults. “The time for half measures is over,” Warren says. “My broad cancellation plan is a real solution to our student debt crisis. On Sunday, London posted up a photo of herself and her late love Nipsey Hussle staring at each other lovingly on the red carpet at the 2019 Grammy awards. Simply put, Lauren wrote “missing you” as the caption. After his April 11th funeral at Los Angeles’ Staples Center, London inked Nipsey profile to her forearm in his memory. Thousands of fans, friends, and family attended the massive memorial. Since Nipsey’s death, celebrities like T.I. and The Game have vowed to hold Lauren and Nipsey’s children down.
It appears as if a three-month stint behind bars truly may have rehabilitated Ryan Edwards. We can’t say for certain, of course. We may need to wait and see if he joins Tinder any time soon and hits some woman on there up for some cocaine . For now, thoughm it’s pretty clear that Edwards is at least somewhat of a changed man. Why do we say this? Because the former Teen Mom star did something radical (for him) over the weekend: He spent time with his loved ones! Edwards celebrated Easter on Sunday alongside wife Mackenzie Standifer and their blended family, as the latter shared the above photo on her Instagram account. As you can see, it features Mackenzie holding the couple’s six-month-old son, Jagger, in her arms, while Ryan stands tall next to her with his son 10-year old son, Bentley, whom he shares with ex Maci Bookout. Also depicted in this snapshot? Standifer’s four-year-old son, Hudson, from a previous marriage. Mackenzie simply captioned the Instagram image with an emoji of a chick hatching from an egg. The last time we saw Ryan and Mackenzie together in a photo was in mid-January, just before Edwards was hauled off to prison for about 90 days following an arrest for theft and heroin possession . It was his third drug-related arrest in about two years. As a result of his breaking of the law last summer, Edwards was actually in rehab when little Jagger was born in October. Upon his recent release from the clink, multiple outlets reported that he wanted some time to himself and basically told Standifer to leave him alone — despite her having been parenting alone for many months beforehand. You’d think this wouldn’t have sat well with Mackenzie… and maybe it didn’t. But she isn’t thinking about divorce from Edwards, either, and there she was on Easter, including him in the family festivities. “Do you burn your house down when it’s dirty? No. Do you set your car on fire when it needs a new part? No,” Mackenzie previously wrote in response to a fan who asked about why she remains committed to her marriage. She went on to explain the concept of vows and being there in sickness and in health for one’s soulmate. “Just because someone has a problem doesn’t give you an excuse to give up … God has blessed me with the most caring husband and kids. It’s hard to be vulnerable and it means so much to have them in my corner,” she added. And she concluded this message as follows: “Don’t give up on love. It’s real. It breaks walls that have been built out of stone. Thankful for a man who accepts me for who I am and what I have been through and supports me even when I feel broken. “As much as I have been there for him, he’s been there for me 10x over.” That’s a very nice sentiment for sure. The thing is, Mackenzie may have cheated on Edwards while he was in jail.
