Ice will break down his new documentary, ‘Something From Nothing: The Art of Rap,’ on Wednesday at 4 p.m. ET on MTV.com. By Rob Markman Jim Jones Photo: Slaven Vlasic/ Getty Images Things are about to get really serious on this week’s “RapFix Live,” because we have the Original Gangsta and the Certified Gangsta — Ice-T and Jim Jones — sitting down with host Sway Calloway at 4 p.m. ET Wednesday. Since his 1987 debut album, Rhyme Pays, Ice-T has stood as a culture icon, dropping classic records and later breaking down barriers in film, becoming one of rap’s earliest Hollywood draws. In 1991, he landed his breakout role as Scotty Appleton in “New Jack City” and has since gone on to star in more than two-dozen roles. Other than his raps, Ice-T is most known for his role as Detective Odafin Tutuola on “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit” and also stars in his own reality show, “Ice Loves Coco” on E! On Friday, Ice will release “Something From Nothing: The Art of Rap,” a documentary he directed, which will explore how hip-hop went from underground music in the inner cities of America to the dominant music genre it is today. The film stars a who’s who of rap greats like Eminem, Dr. Dre, Nas and Kanye West. On Wednesday, Ice will break it all down. Jim Jones has also found an interest in film. Jones co-stars in VH1’s reality series “Love & Hip Hop,” and for his latest mixtape, Vampire Life 2: F.E.A.S.T. (The Last Supper), the Dipset capo prepared a number of cinematic videos that he plans to string together to form one continuous storyline. “I picked, like, eight songs, and I’ve strung ’em along like movies,” Jones told Mixtape Daily back in May. “Something good for people to look at. I haven’t seen something like that in a minute. I think it’ll be very interesting.” Jones will tell Sway what fans can expect next from him. That’s not all: Bronx, New York, MC Fred the Godson will also swing by the “RapFix” set and drop an exclusive freestyle. You’re not going to want to miss it. Catch Ice-T, Jim Jones and Fred the Godson on “RapFix Live” at 4 p.m. ET Wednesday on MTV.com, and be sure to join the Twitter conversation using the hashtag #RapFixLive. ‘Jackass’ alum tweets a picture of himself from a hospital bed after hernia operation. By Terri Schwartz Bam Margera Photo: Frazer Harrison/ Getty Images Bam Margera is a daredevil on and offscreen. The “Jackass” alum took a 100-foot tandem kayak jump off a waterfall in Oregon with pro kayaker Steve Fisher Wednesday and lived to tell the tale. However, he did have to undergo a hernia operation Thursday as a result. Margera tweeted a picture from his hospital bed showing him a bit out of it and hooked up to medical machines but still giving a thumbs-up to show that he’s all right. Though he was originally supposed to appear at an art show in Pennsylvania on Friday night (June 1), the 32-year-old had to cancel his plans, tweeting , “Can’t make it to the show tonight, in hospital still. Phil, Ape & Boof will be there. Stop by if your in WC.” It’s unclear if Fisher was also injured in the fall, but we would guess that Margera would reference it if that was the case. Fisher also has a Twitter but hasn’t used it in years. This isn’t the first time Margera’s stunts have gotten him in trouble. Back in February, he was arrested after jumping into a pool fully clothed during Mardi Gras in New Orleans and refusing to get out. He ended up not getting a ticket because, according to him, the police didn’t know what to charge him with. “I was just swimming in a pool with all my clothes on, and I refused to get out,” he told E! Online . “No ticket. They just wanted to f— with me, drunk Mardi Gras nonsense.”
To err is human, to forgive DIVINE!!! Martin Short gets major kudos for not being upset about Kathie Lee Gifford dragging him down a likely painful memory lane this week. Martin Short isn’t one to hold a grudge. The actor, 62, says he understands that Today show host Kathie Lee Gifford didn’t intend to offend during his Wednesday appearance on the show with her questions about his wife, Nancy Dolman–who passed away in 2010 from ovarian cancer. “You and Nancy have one of the greatest marriages of anybody in show business,” Gifford said. “How many years for you guys now?” “We . . . married 36 years,” Short replied. “But you’re still in love!” the host exclaimed. “Madly in love,” he answered. “Madly in love.” During a commercial break, Gifford learned of her cringe-worthy gaffe and apologized on-air. “Martin just told me as he was leaving, he said, ‘Kathie, you probably didn’t know,’ but his beautiful, precious wife Nancy did pass away a year and a half ago . . . I feel so badly,” the remorseful Gifford told viewers. On Thursday, Short spoke to E! News about the awkward exchange–and made it clear he doesn’t hold it against Gifford. “I think that it’s live television and people make mistakes and there’s no ill will intended,” the Madagascar 3: Europe’s Most Wanted star shared. “And I think it’s nice to aspire to be that way.” At least he’s understanding about it. Hopefully she’s also learned from her error and will do better research before embarrassing herself like that again. Source WENN/YouTube
Police say a single gunman, Ian Lee Stawicki, shot and killed five people before taking his own life Wednesday. Family members say he suffered a mentally illness. As Michelle Millman of CBS Seattle affiliate KIRO reports, the tragedy left shocked city residents are on edge, worried about their own safety in light of the events. The shooting spree began in a cafe late Wednesday morning. Seattle Shooting Report A bearded Ian Lee Stawicki entered a popular cafe, the Cafe Racer. Minutes later, four people were fatally shot, another wounded, as the gunman stood alone. Police scoured north Seattle, going door-to-door, searching for the killer. The gunman headed downtown, fatally shooting a woman as he carjacked her SUV. As patrol officers started coming in, the suspect saw that he was about to be captured, raised a firearm to his head and then shot himself in the head. Considered one of the safest big cities, Wednesday’s shootings raise the number of Seattle homicides this year to 21, surpassing the number for all of last year.
The Bad Boy of R&B is back with a heavy heart… Bobby Brown Debuts New Single “Don’t Let Me Die” Dedicated To Whitney Houston People will call it calculated and opportunistic, Bobby Brown releasing a single about Whitney Houston three months after his ex-wife’s death. But then you consider the lyrics and depth of “Don’t Let Me Die,” which Bobby performed on Wednesday’s episode of “Tonight Show With Jay Leno,” and this is Bobby at his realest and rawest, the New Edition bad-boy humbled. Brown stood onstage Wednesday, bathed in blue light, singing about the woman he loved, the woman he lost. “I didn’t realize that every breath I took was from you,” he sang. “You were my air.” Bobby and Whitney were married from 1992 until 2007. The couple had one daughter, Bobbi Kristina, who’s now 19. The marriage was marred by erratic behavior and drug abuse. The two split up. Things unraveled. Bobby drifted away from his ex-wife and daughter. Eventually, the drug abuse claimed the “Queen of Pop.” Following Whitney’s death in February, some of her relatives didn’t want Brown at her funeral. Bobby was invited, but left over a seating snafu. Maybe music was the proper venue for Brown’s goodbye, anyway. The lyrics for “Don’t Let Me Die” address his missteps and stumbles. Yes, Bobby loved Whitney. Sure, he’s probably still hurting. But something about this just smells WRONG! Judge for yourself. Hit the flip to hear Bobby’s new tune. Image via WENN Source
