Resident jokester joined by Hollie Cavanagh and Skylar Laine in bottom three. By Adam Graham Heejun Han on “American Idol” Thursday Photo: Fox The laughs are over for Heejun Han, as this season’s court jester was voted off “American Idol” on Thursday (March 29). Han, who with his goofball demeanor and off-center sense of humor was criticized heavily for not taking the competition seriously enough, ended up at the bottom of America’s votes following Wednesday’s performance episode, despite earning a standing ovation from the judges for his performance of Donny Hathaway’s “A Song for You.” He reprised the song for the judges in an effort to get them to use their one save for the season on him, but the judges let him go. “Let the record show that you knew this was coming yourself, you saw it come this week,” Steven Tyler told him. “Unfortunately after talking, we’re gonna have to let you go, man.” Just 24 hours earlier, Tyler had praised Han for turning himself around in the competition, and Jennifer Lopez reaffirmed his talents, telling him, “You didn’t make it this far by mistake.” Randy Jackson welcomed him back to the competition, telling him, “Finally, the Heejun that we selected came back to us tonight!” But the 22-year-old from Flushing, New York’s fate may have been sealed following his performance of Billy Joel’s “My Life” the week prior, which was met by a stinging critique from “Idol” mentor Jimmy Iovine. “He came out and disrespected the entire process. His performance was more like four minutes of a bad Adam Sandler movie that goes straight to DVD,” Iovine said, referring to it as a “stunt gone wrong.” “At the end of the day, Interscope has to spend a lot of money on somebody who wins this show, and that’s not it.” At the time, Han — who landed in second to last place following the performance — defended himself by saying, “I’m not trying to be a star, I’m just really happy where I am.” Han was in the bottom three Thursday with Hollie Cavanagh and Skylar Laine. Laine was sent back to safety first, and was followed by Cavanagh. It was the first time in the bottom three for both Laine and Cavanagh. Also on the show, Eric Benet came out to surprise DeAndre Brackensick, who performed his song “Sometimes I Cry” on Wednesday’s show. Meanwhile, last year’s “Idol” champ Scotty McCreery performed his latest single, ‘Water Tower Town,” and was presented with a platinum sales plaque by Iovine, signifying 1 million sales of his debut album, Clear as Day. Nicki Minaj appeared and performed “Starships” and made a pitch to do a guest-judging bid on the show. “J. Lo, can you scoot over a little bit?” she asked, to which Lopez replied, “I don’t know if there’s enough room for both of us up here!” What did you think of Thursday’s “Idol”? Did Heejun Han go home too soon? Let us know in the comments!

They all chose singles by their personal idols this week, but for one member of the American Idol top 9, that role model proved to be unlucky tonight. Whose name was called at the conclusion of the latest results show? Did the judges use the power of their save to keep this individual around? You’re seconds away from the answer… Following performances by Nicki Minaj and Scotty McCreery, Hollie Cavanagh, Sklyar Laine and Heejan Han stood in the bottom three. Hollie was the first to be told she was safe, leading to the announcement moments later that Han would be going home . He once again belted out ” A Song For You ” in an attempt to be rescued by the panel, but – despite tears from Jennifer Lopez – it was not meant to be. Only eight finalists remain. Did Han deserve to go home this week?

‘I wanted to make sure I got Wayne on something that was heartfelt,’ Mac tells MTV News of Macadelic standout. By Rob Markman Mac Miller Photo: MTV News Mac Miller hasn’t been around very long, but his ever-growing catalog has a lot of noteworthy tunes. The gold-selling “Donald Trump” is a crowd-pleaser at shows, as is his jump-up-and-down party-starter “Knock, Knock.” But Mac’s recent Lil Wayne collaboration “The Question” already ranks right up there for him. “This is one of my favorite records that I’ve ever done,” Mac told MTV News of the Macadelic standout. Miller surprised fans when he released Macadelic last week. It wasn’t the quality of songs that stood out — Mac’s fans have come to expect the best from the Pittsburgh MC — instead it was Macadelic ‘s features that stood out to many. With a guest list that includes Kendrick Lamar, Sir Michael Rocks, Casey Veggies, Juicy J and Cam’ron, it was Weezy’s multiplatinum name that made folks do a double-take. Getting Weezy on your mixtape is a no-brainer for any MC with enough clout to pull it off, but Miller didn’t want to get the Young Money boss on just any old track. To him, “The Question” was special. “This song is a real meaningful song to me, man, and I wanted to make sure I got Wayne on something that was heartfelt,” he said. “I got him on a record that I was saying something and not just talkin’ sh–, so this record right here really kinda deals with a question that I’ve been goin’ through in my own head.” “Sometimes I wonder who the f— I am,” Mac spits to start the record off. The 20-year old MC then goes on to ponder his place in the world over a slow-rolling track produced by Wally West and ID Labs. “I feel like in a lot of people’s lives, at a certain point, you kind of just look in the mirror and try and think about who I am as a person and what am I supposed to do here, what am I doin’ with my time,” he explained. Often, Mac is criticized for releasing strictly party records, but on “The Question” he adds some depth to his catalog. Weezy, however, took a different approach, opening his rhyme while sitting in his Bentley, thinking about the plethora of women he has at his disposal. From there, Tunechi goes on about his machine gun, which he claims to treat like an infant, and, of course, his smoke. It’s classic Weezy. “Wayne came in and just killed the verse on the song,” Mac exclaimed. “It was perfect to hear him like that.” What do you think of Mac Miller and Lil Wayne’s “The Question”? Atlanta MC Killer Mike will also stop by on Wednesday at 4 p.m. ET on MTV.com By Rob Markman Nas Photo: Daniel Boczarski/ Getty Images Last week Odd Future dropped by for a crazy episode of “RapFix Live,” but this week, things are about to get real nasty. Nasty Nas will stop by MTV on Wednesday to chop it up with Sway, taking a trip down memory lane and looking toward the future and his upcoming album Life is Good. Wednesday will mark the first time the rap legend has sat on the “RapFix Live” couch. It’s been 18 years since Nas dropped his iconic debut Illmatic, and the Queensbridge MC proved that he is just as vicious as ever when he dropped his latest single, “The Don,” earlier this month. Backed by a reggae-tinged beat (co-produced by the late Heavy D), “The Don” finds Nas delivering lyrics with the tenacity of hungry teen who is looking for his first break. It’s a vibe that Esco successful captured on his 2011 single “Nasty” as well. If “The Don” and “Nasty” are any indication, Nas’ 10th LP, Life is Good, is already shaping up to be one of the most-anticipated rap albums of the year. We’re sure he will have plenty to say about his upcoming release as well as his career in retrospect. Atlanta MC Killer Mike will also be stopping by the “RapFix” set this week. Killa Kill made his rap debut on OutKast’s unforgettable 2000 album Stankonia and has since carved out a unique lane for his brand of street-laced, politically charged raps. Last year, Mike partnered with T.I.’s Grand Hustle label and dropped PL3DGE, the third album of his I Pledge Allegiance to the Grind series. Next up, Mike is partnering with former Company Flow MC/producer El-P to release their collaborative R.A.P. Music LP. The album’s first single, “Big Beast,” features Bun B, T.I. and Atlanta newcomer Trouble. Catch Nas and Killer Mike on “RapFix Live” Wednesday at 4 p.m. ET on MTV.com, and be sure to join the Twitter conversation using the hashtags #RapFixLive. Send your questions for the artists to @MTVRapFiX! Related Artists Nas Killer Mike

American Idol pared its field down to nine singers this week. Following their performances Wednesday night, DeAndre Brackensick and Heejun Han seemed destined for the bottom three on tonight’s results show. Did they land there? And who else ended up on the block? The dreaded bottom three did indeed come down to the aforementioned two gentlemen, as many predicted, along with Erika Van Pelt, with the judges indicating right off the bat that they would not be saving any of the above. Rough! When the results were read, the fewest number of votes went to… Erika Van Pelt! Yes, America actually preferred DeAndre Brackensick and Heejun Han. The viewers of this show really don’t like female singers, huh? She had been a staple in the bottom three, but after a total makeover and a strong performance this week, many felt she would be in the clear. Erika just didn’t connect with enough voters to stay on Idol , though, leaving DeAndre and Heejun to fight another week … possibly the last for one of them. Check back Friday for continued coverage of the show, including fallout from this week’s elimination and video of Lana Del Rey’s performance? What did you think of the results? Did Erika deserve to go?

Pattinson shoots his own hand in the teaser, signaling a return to director David Cronenberg’s subversive roots. By Kevin P. Sullivan Photo: Alfama Films This year’s unlikely MTV Movie Brawl champion, “Cosmopolis,” doesn’t have a set release date for the U.S., but a foreign teaser trailer showed up online on Thursday (March 22). The adaptation of the Don DeLillo novel stars Robert Pattinson as a young multi-billionaire who tries to get a haircut, but ends up on a wild ride in his limousine instead. Canadian horror master David Cronenberg directed the film, and the (NSFW) 30-second trailer signals a return to his extremely subversive roots. So make no mistake: We’re not in Forks, Washington, anymore. Here are the five key scenes from the teaser trailer for “Cosmopolis.” Ready, aim … Well, you can never accuse the “Cosmopolis” trailer of misleading the viewer. The crazy begins as soon as the trailer starts, when a naked woman aims a laser-guided stun gun at Pattinson’s chest and he encourages her to shoot. It’s a move that says, “Listen, this movie and this trailer are going to be insane. Brace yourself. And Twilight fans, enjoy shirtless Edward while you can, because he’s about to get shot with a stun gun.” Fire! We never see the naked woman fire the stun gun at Pattinson, but immediately after, he takes a shot at his own hand with an actual gun. And we see everything. Cronenberg has never shied away from violence or graphic material in general, and the shot certainly reminds us of that. Considering the kind of gore on display in “A History of Violence” and “Eastern Promises,” a point-blank gunshot to the hand might be just the beginning. That poor woman! It’s bad enough that Pattinson’s character, Eric Packer, does all of these terrible things to himself, but the trailer gives us a glimpse of his wife, played by Sarah Gadon . Sure, it’s great that her husband looks like Robert Pattinson, but who wants to put up with the guy shooting himself in the hand and having sex in a limo with someone else? “Cosmopolis” marks Gadon’s second Cronenberg movie, having just starred alongside Michael Fassbender in “A Dangerous Method.” There’s a better place for that Yes, what you’re seeing would be a quick shot of Pattinson urinating in the back of his limousine. With so much of the action in “Cosmopolis” taking place over the course of a day, mostly within that car, you have to imagine that Eric’s going to have to relieve himself once in a while. You have to applaud Pattinson for taking on what looks like a fearless role after riding so long on a franchise that succeeded on its familiarity. And suddenly, a giant rat The easiest way to make a strange trailer even stranger? Throw in a giant rat. We’re not entirely sure what’s going on here, but it looks like a group of people are carrying a large, fake rodent through the middle of Times Square. Yeah, we don’t get it either. What do you think of the “Cosmopolis” teaser trailer? Leave your comment below! Related Photos Cosmopolis Teaser: 5 Key Scenes
