The actress is engaged to Dion Phaneuf of the Toronto Maple Leafs! Cuthbert, 29, announced on Twitter that she’s “Happily, happily, happily, happily engaged! This has been the most amazing weekend ever.” The couple, who began dating way back in May 2008, celebrated at New Glasgow Lobster in Prince Edward Island, Canada, last night. “Last night we had the privilege of hosting a surprise engagement party for Dion Phaneuf and Elisha Cuthbert,” the restaurant tweeted. “Congrats to them both.” Announcing their engagement at the PEI venue was “a nice surprise for all their guests … Congrats to them both and LOVE the ring!” Phaneuf, 27, “never said it was for an engagement party,” a source says. “They invited 40 friends and family to celebrate at the restaurant.” “Elisha looked very happy and pleased. She was showing off her ring to her family and the wait staff,” the source at the restaurant adds. “Dion and Elisha both got up an gave a speech and thanked everyone for being there and celebrating this exciting time with them.” Cuthbert previously dated NHL player Sean Avery, who was suspended for saying Phaneuf was enjoying his sloppy seconds in 2008. Bobby Brown is out of rehab and doing well, according to Bobby Brown. The star is adamant that he did not leave rehab early, as has been widely reported, after checking into a facility last month to battle problems with alcohol. Brown did depart the facility after only two weeks, but he claims was part of the plan all along … a somewhat dubious story, but we digress and hope it’s true. The New Edition singer says he’s now 22 days sober … and counting! Wow, 22 whole days. That’s more than three weeks (by one day)! Hey, those 22 days are totally the hardest, right? Here’s hoping Bobby can build on them. Meanwhile, his new wife Alicia Etheredge was hospitalized over the weekend, reportedly having suffered a seizure, but the couple says that all is fine now. I’m not sure if Katy Perry is still banging John Mayer anymore, not that anyone really cares, but I’ve got these pictures of her over the weekend so I’m posting them anyway.
