But according to Variety, Season 3 of The Chi won’t include series lead Jason Mitchell, who was previously fired earlier this year due to accusations of inappropriate behavior. Because of Mitchell’s was booted from the show, his character “Brandon” didn’t receive a proper ending in the show storyline. Showtime’s President of Entertainment Gary Levine told the outlet that Brandon will be killed off: “There is a lot of great life in The Chi , and there’s also death in The Chi , and that’s how we’ll be dealing with it.” Mitchell was already being monitored closely after an alleged inappropriate incident with co-star Tiffany Boone . Showtime’s other President of Entertainment, Jana Winograde, addressed the matter saying: “We were made aware at the time that the allegations were made,” “Fox 21 conducted a thorough investigation. After that investigation, we all made the decision together that it was appropriate at that time to give him some training and guidance on appropriate behavior on set.” Creator and executive producer Lena Waithe is set to have a role in Season 3 of The Chi. “I think it will be our best ever,” Levine said. “The stories remain incredibly vibrant.”

Source: Prince Williams / Getty Reality Star Exes Embroiled In Custody Dispute Over Toddler Daughter Bonnie Bella Stevie J has pleaded with a family court judge to throw his ex Joseline Hernandez behind bars after he says she violated a court order by deliberately denying him the chance to visit their daughter during a trip to Miami last weekend. The former “Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta” star filed in court papers July 29 to have Joseline put in contempt of court after she allegedly purposely kept their daughter Bonnie Bella Hernandez away from him after he flew to Miami to spend time with the girl under a court order. We exclusively revealed that Stevie sued Joseline for full custody of the tot , arguing that he was more financially and emotionally stable. He also asked the judge to force Joseline to pay him child support. But in her answer, Joseline said that she’s doing the best she can to raise Bonnie, even though her income had gone down. She said that she’s never kept him away from the girl and asked a judge to make him start paying her 20 percent of his income. Stevie and Joseline were in court last week over access to the almost-three-year-old girl, and the judge issued a temporary order where he’d have visitation and one overnight in Miami from July 28 to Aug. 11. Under the order – which was obtained by BOSSIP – Stevie was supposed to take Bonnie to school, hang out with her in class and then drop her back to Joseline’s at 7 p.m. He was also supposed to have unsupervised visitation on weekends. Both Joseline and Stevie also had to agree to submit to drug testing as part of the temporary order. Stevie said he and his family flew to Miami in the hopes of rekindling his relationship with Bonnie, who he said he hadn’t seen or spoken to for six months because Joseline froze him out of her life. But Faith Evans’ husband said Joseline thumbed her nose up at the court by keeping Bonnie home from school and eventually stopped Stevie from seeing her altogether, his court docs state. Stevie wants the judge to step in and put Joseline in jail for her refusal to let him parent Bonnie. He is also seeking an emergency court hearing, for Joseline to reimburse him for his Miami trip as well as his lawyer’s fees. Joseline has not responded to Stevie’s allegations.

In an interview with Paris Match, Naomi revealed that she was refused entry to a hotel in the south of France because she is black. The model went on to say that she and a black friend were blocked from entering the hotel–which she decided not to name–despite having an invitation to an event that was taking place there. Campbell recalled what happened, saying that door staff told them the place was full, even though they saw other people being allowed access at the same time. She called the incident “revolting” and said the encounter inspired her to “continue to express myself and make myself heard”. Learning from the encounter, Naomi said she is always happy to help the new generation of fashion models, advising them never to let anyone take away their own self-esteem. When asked about diversity in the industry, she told the magazine that she always wanted everyone to be treated fairly and the fight for diversity continued. The supermodel shared what happened at the hotel in an effort to make an example out of the situation. “I was recently in a town in the south of France, while the Cannes film festival was going on, where I was invited to take part in an event in a hotel that will remain nameless,” she said. “They did not want to let us come in, my friend and me, because of the color of our skin. This guy at the door made out that the place was full. But he was letting other people in.” When asked later if diversity had improved in the fashion industry over the past few years, she said she would “like to be able to say so”, citing the model Bethann Hardison as a pioneer. “I have always tried to remain an optimist on this issue,” She said. “I tell [new models] never to let anyone underestimate their value. You have to be strong and brave in this job and to surround yourself with your family and a good agent.” Even when faced with moments of prejudice and racism, Naomi keeps her composure by not blasting their name all over the internet. Source: Edward Olive / EyeEm / Getty A Passenger Accidentally Killed Driver During A Drive-By According to the Chicago Sun Times , a mandied after he was accidentally shot by his own passenger on the South Side of Chicago. Matthew Gibson, 26, was reportedly pronounced dead at Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, the Cook County medical examiner’s office announced. The alleged passenger who shot him , has been charged with aggravated battery with a firearm, and is expected to face a murder count, according to Cook County prosecutors. Lee, 27, of Englewood, was denied bail during a hearing on Tuesday. Gibson was driving when he pulled alongside a white SUV waiting to make a left turn, prosecutors said. Lee, was seated in the front passenger seat and began firing at the SUV with a .40-caliber handgun and accidentally shot Gibson in the head.. Even with the gunshot wound, Gibson was able to drive more than two miles to the 6700 block of South Marshfield. A 22-year-old man was also wounded in the shooting. His death was ruled a homicide. Lee was paroled April 21 after serving eight years for a 2011 conviction for aggravated battery with a handgun, according to Illinois Department of Corrections records.
