Edwards Funeral Home, the New Jersey funeral home entrusted with the final arrangements of Whitney Houston , have released an obituary honoring the life of our favorite “Jersey Girl.” Services for Houston, who died Saturday, February 11, 2012, at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, CA the night before the Grammy Awards, will be held at New Hope Baptist Church, where Houston sang as a child. The services will be carried on television and streamed online. Her eulogy will be given by gospel singer Marvin Winans . Her godmother Aretha Franklin will sing. Clive Davis and Kevin Costner will also speak at the funeral. County Coroner officials the singer did not die from drowning, but rather from what appears to be a combination of Xanax and other prescription drugs mixed with alcohol, reports TMZ . TMZ also reported that water was found in Whitney’s lungs, but it was not enough water to lead to the conclusion that she drowned. TMZ reports that the family was told Whitney may have died before her head was submerged in water. The site also reported that it was actually Whitney’s aunt, Mary Jones, who discovered Whitney’s body in the bathtub. Initial reports suggested Whitney’s body would be flown back to Atlanta, where she lived for several years with Bobby Brown and daughter Bobbi Kristina, but CNN is now reporting that Whitney’s mother, Cissy Houston, wants Whitney’s body flown to New Jersey, where Whitney was born. The band said they are “shocked and saddened” by the death of Whitney and said their thoughts and prayers remain with the entire Brown-Houston family.” We reported earlier that an emotional Bobby Brown took the stage with New Edition in Mississippi hours after Whitney passed in Los Angeles. Whitney Houston’s 18-year-old daughter, Bobbi Kristina Brown, was rushed to Cedars-Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles, TMZ reports. New developments have surfaced in the death of Whitney Houston , who was found unresponsive in her Beverly Hills hotel room yesterday. TMZ reports: According to our sources, her stylist, hairdresser and two bodyguards were among the people in the room at the time. We’re told they became worried about Whitney because she had been in the bathroom for over an hour and it was time to start getting ready for the Clive Davis party. Our sources say they began to knock on the door and there was no answer. We’re told the hairdresser, who is female, went in to check on Whitney. She immediately screamed and, according to our sources, one of the bodyguards came running in and pulled her out of the tub. We’re told Whitney’s face was below the water and her legs were up … like she had slid down the back of the tub. According to our sources, her body was very cold and the bodyguard attempted CPR.
