Taylor Swift + Katniss Everdeen = Utter awesomeness. Granted, the singer doesn’t actually interact with the District 12 resident in the following video – which is for “Safe and Sound,” the single by Swift and The Civil Wars that will be included on The Hunger Games soundtrack – but still. That notion makes us smile. Below, watch as Taylor wanders around the forest alone, barefoot and ragged, never actually meeting with The Civil Wars (who opened for her at the 2012 Grammys ), but eventually picking up the iconic Mockingjay pin from the books and perfectly honoring the story we all know and love. Jennifer Hudson still can’t believe it. She still can’t believe she was selected to honor Whitney Houston at the Grammy Awards Sunday night. Also, she’s still shedding tears over the legendary singer’s passing. Jennifer Hudson – I Will Always Love You (Tribute to Whitney Houston) “It was the greatest honor of my life to be able to be the one to pay tribute to Whitney’s memory,” the Oscar winner tells Us Weekly . “It was from my heart. I haven’t stopped crying since she passed. Her family is in my prayers.” Houston, a six-time Grammy Award winner, was found dead in her hotel room at the Beverly Hilton Saturday afternoon, her body submerged in a bathtub. She’s believed to have died from a combination of prescription pills and alcohol, while many are now concerned over the state of her 18-year old daughter, Bobbi Kristina.

The hotel has been a celebrity hot spot ever since it opened in 1955, hosting scores of red-carpet events every year. By Kara Warner The Beverly Hilton in Los Angeles Photo: Splash News Despite the fact that the Beverly Hilton is currently in the news for being the site of Whitney Houston’s tragic death , the historic hotel has been making headlines for 57 years — the vast majority of those being positive news stories — ever since its opening in 1955. The Who’s Who in Hollywood hot spot has played host to the most A-list guests and star-studded events for nearly six decades by holding more than 175 red-carpet events annually. The Hotel’s first major event was coincidentally the first-ever Grammy Awards in 1959. Best Female Vocalist Ella Fitzgerald took home two awards that year, along with Domenico Modugno, Henry Mancini, and Ross Bagdasarian (made famous by “The Chipmunk Song (Christmas Don’t Be Late)”). In July 1960, then-presidential hopeful John F. Kennedy held a gala fundraiser for which his friend Frank Sinatra helped gather the “Jack Pack,” a group of celebs that included Milton Berle, Janet Leigh, Tony Curtis, Judy Garland and Mort Sahl. The Hilton was host to the first-ever Golden Globe Awards in 1961, where Stanley Kubrick’s “Spartacus” took home the top prize of Best Picture. The Globes returned to the hotel in 1971 and have not left. The annual event draws an international audience of millions, in addition to the ceremony itself, multiple viewing parties and afterparties, all staged at the Hilton. Other notable events include Richard Nixon’s so-called final press conference in 1962 following his loss to Pat Brown in the California gubernatorial election. The hotel hosted the one-time-only tribute to screen legend Cary Grant in 1988, which raised funds for Grace Kelley’s Princess Grace Foundation. In 2004, former First Lady Nancy Reagan made major news by speaking out against the Republican Party and publicly announcing her support for stem-cell research while being honored by the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. Also for the past thirty years, the Hilton has hosted the prestigious Oscars nominee luncheon. Share your condolences with Whitney’s family and friends on our Facebook page. Kate Upton will grace the cover of the 2012 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition. The announcement was made by … the leaked cover below, first posted on TMZ . A few of the issues arrived early to a gas station in Michigan (why that state got first dibs, who the heck knows) and the pics are already making the online rounds, as these things frequently seem to do. Check out Kate Upton’s SI swimsuit issue cover below: Sports Illustrated originally planned to announce the 2012 swimsuit edition cover girl and the cover shot at an event tonight … and they still might. But here she is. Kate Upton was recently rumored to be dating Mark Sanchez of the New York Jets. There’s no rumor about this, though: The 19-year-old (?!) is a stunner! Upton made a sizzling debut in last year’s edition, but it’s safe to say this 2012 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue cover will launch her into the stratosphere. For those out there saying that the swimsuit issue has nothing to do with sports, annual issue also features athletes in body paint (i.e. Alex Morgan nude ). So there.
With Bobbi Kristina Brown out of the hospital, but with family members still concerned over her well-being , Bobby Brown has released his first public statement regarding his 18-year old daughter with Whitney Houston. “My daughter did visit with doctors at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles,” said the singer, seen below touching down in Los Angeles to be there for his child.
