Hate It Or Love It??? Bobby Brown Debuts New Song “Don’t Let Me Die” On Jay Leno, Dedicated To His Tumultuous Relationship With Whitney Houston [Video]

The Bad Boy of R&B is back with a heavy heart… Bobby Brown Debuts New Single “Don’t Let Me Die” Dedicated To Whitney Houston People will call it calculated and opportunistic, Bobby Brown releasing a single about Whitney Houston three months after his ex-wife’s death. But then you consider the lyrics and depth of “Don’t Let Me Die,” which Bobby performed on Wednesday’s episode of “Tonight Show With Jay Leno,” and this is Bobby at his realest and rawest, the New Edition bad-boy humbled. Brown stood onstage Wednesday, bathed in blue light, singing about the woman he loved, the woman he lost. “I didn’t realize that every breath I took was from you,” he sang. “You were my air.” Bobby and Whitney were married from 1992 until 2007. The couple had one daughter, Bobbi Kristina, who’s now 19. The marriage was marred by erratic behavior and drug abuse. The two split up. Things unraveled. Bobby drifted away from his ex-wife and daughter. Eventually, the drug abuse claimed the “Queen of Pop.” Following Whitney’s death in February, some of her relatives didn’t want Brown at her funeral. Bobby was invited, but left over a seating snafu. Maybe music was the proper venue for Brown’s goodbye, anyway. The lyrics for “Don’t Let Me Die” address his missteps and stumbles. Yes, Bobby loved Whitney. Sure, he’s probably still hurting. But something about this just smells WRONG! Judge for yourself. Hit the flip to hear Bobby’s new tune. Image via WENN Source

The Side-Eye: Shady Professional “Friend” Raffles Van Exel Denies Selling Yayo To Whitney Houston And Selling The Infamous “Coffin Picture” To Tabloids

What does this guy actually do?! He’s like Tommy from “Martin” Raffles Van Exel Denies Selling Drugs And Selling Whitney Houstons Coffin Picture According to TMZ reports : One of Whitney Houston’s close friends — a mysterious man who’s been widely accused of supplying the singer with coke before her death — is declaring war on media outlets that ran with the drug story … and now, he’s on a crusade to clear his name. The friend — an enigmatic celebrity sidekick named Raffles van Exel — tells us, he is “neither the architect nor the culprit of the sudden demise of Whitney Houston.” Raffles was with Whitney in the hours before she died at the Beverly Hilton hotel in February — and there were widespread reports strongly insinuating he was the singer’s secret cocaine supplier. There were other reports suggesting Van Exel was also the one who snapped the infamous picture of Whitney’s body in a coffin … and sold it to a tabloid newspaper. But for the first time ever, Van Exel is adamantly denying all the reports — and has begun taking aggressive legal steps to save his reputation. Van Exel has started firing off cease and desist letters to media outlets reporting any nefarious connection between him and Whitney’s death — demanding full retractions asap … or else. Van Exel — who describes himself as a “private consultant to the stars” — has also been linked to Michael Jackson around the time of the singer’s 2005 molestation trial, as well as jazz legend George Benson. Somehow we find it VERY hard to believe this Raffles character. Who the hell names their kid “Raffles” anyway?? Did his daddy win the chance to chop his momma down at a carnival??? Bobby Brown on Whitney Houston Death: Not My Fault!

Bobby Brown taped an interview with Matt Lauer this morning – for segments on The Today Show that will run Wednesday and Thursday – and made it a priority to defend himself against accusations that his hard-partying lifestyle played a role in the tragic death of Whitney Houston. “I didn’t get high before I met Whitney,” Brown says, seemingly blaming HER for HIS problems, although clarifying that he did smoke “weed” and drink prior to their relationship. But Brown emphasized that he wasn’t “the one that got Whitney on drugs at all” and that he feels “terrible” folks think otherwise. Because, really people, the important thing here is how Bobby Brown feels. Houston and Brown were married from 1992 to 2007 and are the parents of a daughter, Bobbi Kristina . The singer told Lauer that their one year of filming Being Bobby Brown had a profound affect on their recreational drug use. “The reality show gave us a wakeup,” he says. “We [were] able to see that our drug use had affected our relationship, had affected the love that we felt for each other.” When did Bobby last see Whitney? About a week prior to her passing. He said she “looked really well” at the time. Brown – who pleaded out a DUI arrest just this week in order to avoid jail time – said he was shocked and “hurt” when he learned Houston died with cocaine in her system. At the end of the day… “I love that woman with everything that I am. And I believe she loved me the same way. We wouldn’t have been able to make the most beautiful girl in the world – without love. And that’s the truth.”

Bobby Brown Pleads Out DUI Arrest

Bobby Brown has reached a deal with prosecutors that will keep the singer out of jail. As first reported by TMZ, Brown pleaded “no contest” today to one charge of driving with a blood alcohol content over .08, stemming from an incident in late March when cops pulled him over for driving erratically. In exchange, attorneys dropped the DUI count and Brown was sentenced to 36 months of probation and one day he’s already served in county prison. The artist has been in the news far more than anyone would like since the tragic death of his ex-wife, Whitney Houston. Brown made the wrong kind of headlines for leaving her funeral early, and insiders claim he’s considering a memoir about his marriage to the legend.

Whitney Houston ‘Prepared’ Monica For Her Life In Music

‘My great-grandchildren will know exactly who Whitney Houston is,’ 31-year-old New Life singer tells MTV News. By Rob Markman Monica Photo: MTV News Monica and the late Whitney Houston shared a special bond. Not only did the fallen pop icon influence Monica, she also mentored her from a very young age. “Losing somebody that you idolize is one thing, but losing a friend is another thing,” Monica told MTV News during an April 10 interview. “I look back over many, many years of my life, and Whitney wasn’t the type of person that would call and ask if I was OK; she would actually fly to me. She would come looking for me, she would sit with me. “She prepared me and always reminded me to never lose sight of who I was, and I think she could be a testament to that because of what she experienced,” she continued. “It’s hard on a daily basis, especially when I’m thinking about her.” It’s been almost three months since Houston passed away after accidentally drowning in a bathtub in her Los Angeles hotel room. While the wounds are still fresh, Monica marches on. The 31-year-old singer just dropped her seventh solo album, New Life, and has been singing Houston’s songs since the very beginning of her career. In March, Monica partnered with Brandy in Atlanta, and together they sang touching Whitney covers. It was far from the first time they paid homage to her. “I guess I get through the tributes for Nippy because I knew how much she enjoyed them,” Monica explained. “I didn’t just start doing tributes to her: I was signed at 11 years old singing ‘The Greatest Love of All.’ ” While on the road with Trey Songz during his 2010 Passion, Pain & Pleasure Tour , Monica would honor her idol every night, and Houston was alive to see it. “I would put on a gown and do a full-out salute to her from top to bottom and sing,” she said. “She got a kick out of that.” Though Whitney’s death has been difficult for Monica, the spirited singer takes comfort in knowing that her friend and teacher left a legacy that will transcend generations. “I really appreciate the fact that for almost three decades she gave us music that will last,” she said. “My grandchildren will know exactly who she is; my great-grandchildren will know exactly who Whitney Houston is.” Share your favorite Whitney Houston memory in the comments below. Hell To The Naw: Cissy Houston Reacts To Rihanna’s Wish To Play Whitney In Film…

Cissy Houston Doesn’t Want Rihanna To Play Whitney Houston In Film Cissy Houston has made it pretty clear how she feels about the idea of Rihanna playing her daughter in a biopic… To put it mildly — she ain’t having it! WHITNEY HOUSTON’s still-grieving mother is furious after learning that RIHANNA might portray her tragic daughter in a feature film, sources tell The ENQUIRER. The 24-year-old R&B singer has referred to Whitney, who accidentally drowned in a bathtub at the Beverly Hilton hotel on Feb. 11, as one of her idols. She recently told an interviewer she would love to play Whitney on the big screen. But Whitney’s mother, gospel singer Cissy Houston, 78, fumed when she heard Rihanna was gunning for the role. “Over my dead body!” declared the pop star granny, according to a source. “Cissy believes Rihanna celebrates everything she hated about Whitney’s life – the drugging, the boozing, the abusive relationship,” the source continued. As The ENQUIRER reported in January, Rihanna’s pals were urging her to check into rehab after last year’s hard-partying “Loud” tour was plagued with health issues and a trip to the hospital for what her reps said was “the flu.” “Cissy does not think Whitney should be represented by someone like Rihanna,” said the source. “In spite of what anyone thought about Whitney, she sees her as a God-fearing Christian who loved the Lord.” It seems like Cissy hasn’t fully accepted all of who Whitney was and that’s sad but considering that Rihanna hasn’t done much acting outside of “Battleship” we probably wouldn’t want her playing Whitney either. On another note, doesn’t this photo of RihRih’s bestie Melissa kinda remind you of Whitney — something about the wig… Source More On Bossip! Jesse James: Not Afraid of S–t!

Sounds like Jesse James has been reading Bristol Palin’s memoir Not Afraid of Life . Okay, probably not. But he is back with a new reality show and is defiant as ever. “I’m not afraid of s–t,” James proclaimed to E! Online this week while promoting Jesse James: Outlaw Garage , his new Discovery Channel special premiering April 9. “Everyone can say whatever they want about me and call me whatever, but guess what? I’m still standing . I think I’m in a pretty awesome place in life.” That he is, it’s just not in Hollywood. James now resides in Austin, Texas, and slowly returned to TV with an appearance on Discovery’s American Chopper: The Build-Off in December. Outlaw follows James and his team at the Austin Speed Shop as they rebuild a 1932 Ford Roadster. He’s hoping it will soon become a regular series. In any case, he’s not gonna let the sex scandal(s) that torpedoed his marriage to Sandra Bullock (or his engagement to Kat Von D ) get the best of him: “In light of everything that’s happened, I think I came out of it a better dad and a better person while living and working in a place that’s like heaven to me.” James, who sort-of trash talked Sandra on American Chopper, says fans can expect a little bit of an update on his life when his new show debuts. “There’s a little bit of personal life [in Outlaw ] with the kids and kind of explaining where I am now,” James said. “I hate those words ‘reality TV’ because I think this is a refreshing change because none of it is scripted … there’s no made-up drama.” Hey, if anyone knows non-made-up drama, it’s Jesse James. Jessica Sanchez Asks: How Will I Know?

You know what they say: if at first you succeed historically well at covering a late legend, try, try again. No. But that would have been nearly impossible to match. The judges were clearly impressed, with Jennifer Lopez expressing shock over such a big voice emanating from such a small body. Where do you stand on Jessica Sanchez? Enough Whitney or more Whitney? Watch and react now: Jessica Sanchez – “How Will I Know”
