Burger King is no longer in the fast food business with Mary J. Blige. The chain has pulled a controversial ad from the airwaves, citing a music licensing issue, but causing many to wonder if it gave in to pressure from critics who believe the spot is an insult to African-Americans. Blige Burger King Commercial In response to Blige standing atop a counter and singing about “crispy chicken, fresh lettuce, three cheeses, ranch dressing wrapped up in a tasty, flour tortilla,” lifestyle publication Madame Noire has written an open letter to the Grammy winner that reads: “Having a black woman sing about chicken was no mistake. They’re trying to reach the ‘urban’ (aka black) demographic and they used you. Because God knows black folk won’t buy anything unless there’s a song, and preferably a dance, attached to it.” Salma Hayek, Jay Leno and David Beckham have also been hired to pitch this new product and Burger King claims the commercial will air again once the licensing issue is solved. The complete Whitney Houston autopsy is in, and it reveals a number of harrowing details regarding the singer’s death on February 11. The document states that a “spoon with a white crystal-like substance on it” was found in the hotel room in which Whitney died, along with a “white powdery substance” later tested and determined to be cocaine . Houston’s body was found face down in the bathtub – in approximately 13 inches of water, the report adds -with “bloody purge coming from her nose.” Moreover, a “perforation of posterior nasal septum” made it clear that the singer had a history of drug use. There were no signs of foul play, officials included, while also writing up a detailed account of Houston’s surroundings. It reads as follows: “Located on the south portion of the counter was a small spoon with a white crystal-like substance in it and a rolled up piece of white paper, along with other miscellaneous items.” Located in the top drawer, in the north side of the counter were remnants of a white powdery substance, and a portable mirror on a base. [Whitney] possibly overdosed on a narcotic substance, prescription medications, over the counter medications and alcohol.

SMH…R.I.P. Whitney According to TMZ reports : Whitney Houston had cocaine in her system when she died — this according to the L.A. County Coroner. The L.A. County Coroner has just released the singer’s official cause of death — accidental drowning … but the report also notes heart disease and cocaine use were contributing factors to Whitney’s demise. A source connected to the investigation tells us it is “very possible” Whitney had a heart attack that caused her to lose consciousness and drown. The heart attack may have been triggered by hardening of the arteries as a result of cocaine use. As we previously reported, Whitney was found dead in a bathtub at the Beverly Hilton hotel last month and several pills were found on the scene — including Xanax, Ibuprofen, and Midol. Investigators found NO EVIDENCE of cocaine in the hotel room. Law enforcement sources have told us from the beginning they did not suspect foul play — and believe her death was not a homicide. I’ve known & worked closely with Whitney Houston and her sister-in-law Patricia Houston for over 20 joyous years. To the world, Whitney Houston was an icon; a legend with a voice that could only come from above. She was an actress that brought vibrancy and realism to her roles. To Whitney’s family & friends, Whitney was a mother, a daughter, a sister, and a best friend. To her fans, Whitney meant the world to them. Whitney’s death is tragic & shocking.
