Usually, when we report on Brian Williams, it means that the NBC Nightly News anchor has been featured in another hilarious Jimmy Fallon lip dub , or perhaps that his daughter was motorbutted on Girls . Unfortunately, our favorite newsman is at the heart of a much more serious story this week, as allegations that he lied about being shot down in helicopter while covering the Iraq War in 2003 have led to demands that Williams be suspended or even fired. Williams had told the heroic tale on several occasions over the past 12 years, each time recalling the events in exactly the same fashion. When he shared the story during his January 30 broadcast, however, several soldiers who were on the scene that day cried foul, forcing Williams to apologize and admit that he had “misremembered” the events in question. Brian Williams Apologizes Now, more stories of Williams heroism in the line of duty are being questioned, and the future of the revered journalists’ career is suddenly in doubt. Critics of Williams are now questioning his claims that he contracted dysentery and watched dead bodies float past his hotel while covering Hurricane Katrina in 2005. The New York Post claims Williams stayed in an area of the city that was not affected by flooding and that doctors tell them not a single case of dysentery was reported during Katrina. The Post also claims that former Nightly News anchor Tom Brokaw is calling for Williams’ head, reportedly telling sources that he is “extremely uncomfortable” with Williams lies and that “a lesser producer or journalist would have been immediately fired for a false report.” This is not the first scandal that’s threatened the integrity of NBC News in recent months. Back in October, the network’s chief medical expert Dr. Nancy Snyderman violated her Ebola quarantine after returning from Africa. It’s almost here. After months of anticipation, the Fifty Shades of Grey movie will hit theaters and millions of randy fans will line up to see if the jaw-dropping sexcapades that made the book an international sensation are just as hot on screen. Naturally, a major factor in whether or not the film adaptation will work is the chemistry (or lack thereof) between leads Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson. Unfortunately, if Johnson and Dornan’s press tour is any indication, the relationship between the co-stars is less hot and heavy and more ho-hum. The earliest indication that Johnson and Dornan are less than BFFs came during a Today Show interview to promote the first Fifty Shades trailer . The tension between the two was so clear that Natalie Morales asked (jokingly) if they hate each other. She seemed a bit taken aback when Dornan nodded yes, and Johnson simply dodged the question: Jamie Dornan, Dakota Johnson: Awkward Fifty Shades Interview That’s just one of many awkward interviews involving the two people who are supposed to convincingly pretend to be mad with lust for one another. In fact, sources close to the film say that thus far the Fifty Shades press tour has been an utter disaster. In addition to the fact that Dornan and Johnson seem unable to hide their contempt for one another, their lack of enthusiasm for the film itself is often obvious when they’re describing their steamier onscreen interactions. Sex scenes are obviously central to the film and both actors seem to be going out of their way to provide spectacularly un -sexy descriptions when asked about their characters’ famously kinky coitus. Johnson has described filming the scenes as a “task,” Dornan has said that he found filming to be unpleasant and stated that he would “take a long shower” before returning home to his wife. So who’s up for two co-stars who hate each other and were clearly disgusted by their own love scenes? We think the John Oliver Fifty Shades audition might have actually been sexier than that. Back in December, we reported that Amber Portwood was dating a 43-year-old ex-con by the name of Matt Baier. Massive age difference aside, the relationship was an odd one from the start, as it was quickly revealed that Baier was obsessed with Jenelle Evans and several other Teen Mom cast members. So it’s probably a good thing that insiders are reporting Portwood has finally dumped Baier. “They broke up earlier this week,” a source tells Radar Online. “They had a very tumultuous relationship.” Another insider says Amber never fully trusted Baier and suspected him of cheating throughout their relationship. Whatever the cause, the breakup appears to have been sudden. Just last week, Amber gushed about Baier on Twitter, writing: “I’m blessed to have you by my side through these hard times…Love you.” The “hard times” Amber is referring to likely include the death of Portwood’s father who passed away in December from liver damage caused by decades of heavy drinking. Friends say Baier was extremely supportive of Amber through that crisis, but they also claim he had more bad qualities than good. Baier was reportedly chronically unemployed and had been arrested several times n the past for charges ranging from DUI to assault. Sounds like Amber dodged a bullet on this one. Hank has since admitted to stepping out on his wife in some fashion, though details on his affair remain murky at best. Comcast is on the hot seat again after its mailings changed a customer’s first name to “A–hole” after his wife pulled the plug on part of their service. Ricardo Brown, a customer from Washington State, received bills that referred to him as “A–hole Brown” following a call his wife placed to the company. Lisa Brown said she believes the insulting bill could have been retaliation for her decision to change part of her contract to reduce the monthly cost. “I was never rude,” the two-year customer said of her experience with Comcast. “It could have been that person was upset because I didn’t take the offer.” Comcast confirmed the name on the Brown family’s bill had been changed, but a rep said he had no idea how it happened, according to news reports. After the offending statement, seen above, went viral, Comcast Vice President of Communications for the Washington region issued an apology. “We have spoken with our customer and have apologized for this completely unacceptable and inappropriate name change,” said Steve Kipp yesterday. “We have absolutely zero tolerance for this type of disrespectful behavior and are conducting a thorough investigation to determine what happened.” Ultimately, the cable giant waived a $60 fee it imposed when Brown canceled part of her account, and refunded her for two years of service.
