Meghan Markle did not celebrate Mother’s Day for the first time on Sunday. But she did celebrate Mother’s Day for the first time as an actual mother. The Duchess of Sussex, who gave birth to son Archie this past Monday, posted a brand new image of the newborn earlier today in honor of this special occasion. Not everyone may have been aware upon first viewing the photom, but it also paid tribute to Harry’s late mother, Princess Diana. How so? In the snapshot, which was taken at the famous couple’s new Frogmore Cottage home in Windsor, Diana’s favorite flower, forget-me-nots, can be seen in the background. It’s a subtle, yet poignant nod to the mother-in-law Markle never had a chance to meet. “Paying tribute to all mothers today – past, present, mothers-to-be, and those lost but forever remembered. We honor and celebrate each and every one of you,” Harry and Meghan wrote as a caption to this picture. They continued: “Today is Mother’s Day in the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Kenya, Japan, and several countries across Europe. “This is the first Mother’s Day for The Duchess of Sussex.” And they concluded: “Quote from ‘lands’: my mother was my first country; the first place I ever lived.” According to various outlets, Markle is spending the day at home with her new son, alongside her husband and her mom Doria Ragland. The latter flew in to Great Britain several days before her daughter gave birth and has no plans to leave any time soon. Meghan and Harry, meanwhile, debuted little Archie last Wednesday. While fans are debating whether they gave their child this unexpected name in order to royally piss off Harry’s native country , the stars themselves seemed very relaxed and overjoyed during the photo opportunity. “It’s magic. It’s pretty amazing. I have the best two guys in the world, so I’m really happy,” Markle told the gathered press, adding of her newborn: “He has the sweetest temperament. He’s really calm.” Harry then quipped: “I don’t know where he gets that from!” And Markle added: “He’s just been a dream. It’s been a special couple of days.” Prior to this debut, Harry himself spoke briefly to members of the media. “I haven’t been in many births,” he said, adding in adorable fashion: “This is definitely my first birth. It was amazing, absolutely incredible. “As I said, I am so incredibly proud of my wife and as every father and parent would ever say, your baby is absolutely amazing, but this little thing is absolutely to die for, so I’m just over the moon.” View Slideshow: Royal Baby Photos: Who Wore Their Blanket Best?
Pua Magasiva, an actor who has starred in multiple Power Rangers television shows, as well as the New Zealand soap opera Shortland Street, sadly passed away this. He was 38 years old. Details about what transpired are still being made known, but here is what we’ve learned so far: The New Zealand Herald writes that police were called to a home in Wellington, New Zealand early on Saturday morning… where they found Magasiva unresponsive. An official spokesperson for the police department told the newspaper that they found “no suspicious circumstances surrounding his death,” and that it would soon be referring the case to the coroner. Magasiva portrayed the Shane Clarke, the Red Wind Ranger, in “Power Rangers Ninja Storm,” which marked the 11th television installment of the popular superhero franchise. The Samoan-born actor had also appeared as nurse Vinnie Kruse in hundreds of episodes of “Shortland Street,” one of New Zealand’s most popular daytime dramas. He debuted in the role in 2003, at the height of his fame, and has starred in the show since his return in 2012. “We are all absolutely devastated at the tragic news regarding Pua Magasiva,” the soap opera’s production company wrote on social media Saturday, adding: “Pua was a much loved member of the South Pacific Pictures’ family for many years and our hearts and thoughts go out to Pua’s family at this time.” For Magasiva, this family is comprised of wife Lizz Sadler, a seven-year-old daughter from his previous marriage; and his brother Robbie. (Sadler also has a daughter from a previous relationship.) Magasiva and Sadler got married last April, nearly 10 months after meeting in October of 2016, according to Flava, a New Zealand radio station where Magasiva had co-hosted a morning show prior to his death. The pair had met after Sadler began following the actor on Instagram. “Family is everything! Through the struggles, troubles through it all they will always be there for you… I love you all to the moon and back #mylove,” wrote Magasiva as a caption to the sweet photo above last April. He last posted to Instagram several days prior to his death, when he and his loved ones took a trip together outside Wellington. This photo is from that vacation: Wrote Power Rangers co-star Jason Chan on Facebook after this tragic news went public: “Incredibly sad to hear that one of our ranger family is gone. It will never be the same again. PUA you will be so dearly missed. “You were the center of energy on set and off. Always laughing, giggling and involved in practical jokes.” Added Shane Cortese, one of Magasiva’s co-stars from the television program Outrageous Fortune: My heart goes out to the Magasiva family and the extended television alumni who had the honor of seeing the glint in his eye and the sound of his hearty laugh close hand.RIP my friend #puamagasiva @ShortlandTweet. May Pua Magasiva rest in peace. View Slideshow: Celebrities Who Died in 2019: In Memoriam

Source: Johnny Louis/WENN.com / WENN via NewsOne.com : For critics of hip-hop, Nipsey Hussle ’s recent murder was probably emblematic of how rappers are expected to die — young and Black. But while a handful of notable rappers have indeed had their lives cut short at an early age from senseless gun violence, many of the genre’s voices have gone on to grow older without being shot to death. But street life isn’t the only thing threatening the lives of rappers, as shown by hip-hop pioneer Kurtis Blow , who was reportedly set to undergo his second heart procedure. He joined a growing list of other aging rappers who have suffered from health issues. The 59-year-old’s wife released a statement on Monday saying her husband’s aortic artery repair procedure was not as successful as they previously thought and that Kurtis Blow required open heart surgery, HipHopDX reported . Text “RICKEY” to 71007 to join the Rickey Smiley Morning Show mobile club for exclusive news. ( Terms and conditions ). “Kurtis got a bad CT. The aorta has dissected and it looks like he needs to go back to surgery,” a statement from Kurtis Blow’s wife said. “He’s back in ICU and they’re discussing surgery immediately. Emergency open heart surgery.” It was just last week when Kurtis Blow announced in an Instagram post that he was scheduled to undergo a medical procedure on his heart in Los Angeles. He followed that up with a post saying that his surgery was “a tremendous success” before announcing Sunday that he had begun physical therapy yesterday and occupational therapy and was “ on my way to a full recovery 100%.” Hey everyone- I started physical therapy yesterday and occupational therapy today. I am on my way to recovery 100%. Thank you for all of your prayers and well wishes. I love you all and I will be back really… https://t.co/L92VL7b56q — Kurtis Blow (@KurtisBlow1) May 5, 2019 It was unclear what changed in between then and Monday when his wife released her statement. In an Instagram post last week, he said he was “preparing for an aortic artery repair procedure.” It was supposed to “stabilize the artery from further damage caused by the hematoma I contacted from my recent travels to China,” he wrote on May 1. Hematoma has been defined by Merriam-Webster as “a mass of usually clotted blood that forms in a tissue, organ, or body space as a result of a broken blood vessel. Sign Up For Our Newsletter! Email Submit While rap music is a relatively young genre and typically associated with young people, Kurtis Blow’s grave condition was shining a light on the health issues that aging rappers were increasingly facing. The fact that most rappers, especially the pioneers, are Black and brown only exacerbates that reality since statistics show that African Americans are disproportionately affected by chronic health conditions. That was especially true when it comes to the heart. Rapper Craig Mack died last year at the age of 47 from congestive heart failure. Pioneering DJ Lovebug Starski also died last year following a heart attack. He was 57 years old. Hip-hop singer Nate Dogg died in 2011 after suffering a series of strokes in the years leading up to his death. He was 41. Cancer has also targeted rappers. Just last week it was reported that Bushwick Bill of the Geto Boys had been diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer, a condition that has all but amounted to a death sentence for Black men in particular. He is 52 years old. GURU of Gang Starr died from cancer in 2010 at the age of 48 and Adam “MCA” Yauch from the Beastie Boys died from cancer in 2012. Phife Dawg from A Tribe Called Quest died from complications from diabetes at the age of 47. Obviously, these ailments don’t only affect rappers, as shown last week’s death of filmmaker John Singleton at the age of 51 following complications from a stroke he had recently suffered. But, like with everybody else, as rappers get older, these health concerns will likely become more pronounced in their lives. Rachel Held Evans, a very popular Christian author whose interesting work went against traditional conservative beliefs, passed away early Saturday morning after a lengthy hospitalization. She was 37 years old. The tragic news was shared and confirmed by husband Dan, who told fans on his wife’s website that Rachel was “slowly weaned from” her medically induced coma after experiencing massive brain swelling. This condition proved, ultimately, to be “not survivable.” “This entire experience is surreal. I keep hoping it’s a nightmare from which I’ll awake. I feel like I’m telling someone else’s story,” Dan wrote, prior to thanking his Rachel’s friends, family members and followers for their continued prayers and support: “I cannot express how much the support means to me and our kids. “To everyone who has prayed, called, texted, driven, flown, given of themselves physically and financially to help ease this burden: Thank you. “We are privileged. Rachel’s presence in this world was a gift to us all and her work will long survive her.” A Dayton, Tennesee native, Rachel penned such best-selling books as “Searching for Sunday” and “Faith Unraveled.” Other well-known works included ”A Year of Biblical Womanhood” and “Inspired,” as her website said Evans wrote about “faith, doubt and life in the Bible Belt.” She often challenged the evangelical community by addressing sexism and racism and “championing voices of people who have been marginalized in the church,” including the LGBTQ community, said Sarah Bessey, a writer and friend of Rachel’s. This turned the author into a hero to many readers and a polarizing presence in the religious community to her critics. Evans was in the hospital for about three weeks prior to her passing. On April 14, she announced on Twitter that she was in the hospital “with a flu + UTI combo” and had also contracted a “severe allergic reaction to the antibiotics” she had been given. At the time, the wroter lamented that she wouldn’t be able to watch the Game of Thrones final season premiere live that evening. Several days later, on April 19, it was clear that something was seriously wrong. This is when Dan delivered his first update on his wife’s health, writing that while she was receiving treatment for an infection, Rachel started “exhibiting unexpected symptoms,” which included “constant seizures.” Evans made headlines when she explained in a blog post that she left the evangelical church in 2014 to focus on building a new church community that would accept women as ministers, gay Christians and “those who refuse to choose between their intellectual integrity and their faith.” This was considered a novel concept at the time. He still is, in the eyes of many. Evans also served on President Barack Obama’s Advisory Council on Faith-Based and Neighborhood Partnerships. She spoke at churches, conferences and universities around the country. On April 28, two days after Evans had been transported to another facility, her husband updated fans once again. He said that doctors were working to “find a combination of medicines” that would allow her to be slowly “weaned from the coma medication.” Two days after this, Dan shared that physicians had begun the process of bringing Evans out of her coma… … and that was the last we heard from him, until he announced that his wife had died. Evans is survived by her husband, as well as their two young children: a three-year son and a daughter, who will turn 1 later this month. She was surrounded by her loved ones when she passed away. May Rachel Held Evans rest in peace. View Slideshow: Celebrities Who Died in 2019: In Memoriam
Thursday’s episode of Grey’s Anatomy featured Meredith Grey risking it all, and it could cost her not only her job but also her freedom. But what pushed the hero to make a risky decision? A patient without insurance, of course! The patient, Gabby, and her father arrived at the hospital and turned to Meredith and Alex. They came to the United States with the aim of getting her care, but things were not working out. All of their resources were depleted, and insurance wasn’t working out for them. Mer and Alex found a mass in the girl’s colon, meaning that it was time to operate. The father struggled to get coverage from the state, prompting Meredith to say that she would find a way to sort things out. What did Meredith do to get the surgery completed? She put Ellis’ name on the paperwork, meaning her insurance could be used because it covered family members. Richard found out about it, and he was pissed. “The system failed him. The system is broken,” she yelled at him. “We know it is. So what does that say about us if we don’t fix it?” Richard struggled to contain his fury, primarily because he didn’t want anyone to learn about it. He had a risky plan to save Meredith’s career. If they could make the patient appear to be sicker, keep her in hospital for 30 days, then a new state program would activate. That would mean the patient would be covered, wouldn’t be deported and would be entitled to help. Meredith was upset, but knew what she did was the right thing to do. She turned to DeLuca, expecting him to be furious at her. But he took her by surprise, dropping the L-bomb on her because it reiterated that he knew she was a good person. “I’m in awe of what you did today,” he said. “I was afraid if I opened my mouth, the only thing that was going to come out was if I loved you.” “Well, okay,” Meredith replied. “Glad we cleared that up.” Elsewhere, Jo started to return to her old ways, and that was good news for her friends and loved one. She helped Alex get good news for one of his patients in the form of getting a donor … or so she thought. In a wild moment, she realized that she had found someone who needed a donor, not someone willing to give up an organ. Jo desperately turned to Teddy for assistance, but there was nothing that could be done. Teddy went on to tell the patient’s mother the truth. Jo self-destructed in front of the patient, and Alex walked in. He had no idea how he could help his wife with this one. What did you think of all the action? Hit the comments below. Forget the Donald Trump haters and critics for a moment. They’ll be making their voices heard plenty between now and November 2020. For now, we’re gonna focus instead on another tribe of individuals on social media, those who may believe the President is a narcissistic racist… … but who definitely believe the White House uses a Melania Trump body double on occasion. Talk of a fake Melania Trump first surfaced in October of 2017 after President Trump delivered a speech in which a handful of observes absolutely swore that the woman standing next to him was NOT actually the First Lady. We covered that conspiracy HERE . It really did seem like a fairly wayward and absurd conspiracy at the time — but now it’s back. On Friday morning, the Commander-in-Chief stood in front of the Washington press corp and answered a few questions. During the exchange, he referred to himself as “the most transparent President ever.” And yet, incredibly, this was not the most shocking aspect of the media gathering; at least not to a few social media users who honed in the appearance of the woman by Trump’s side. “I have never believed in a conspiracy more than the one that Melania was killed and replaced by a stand-in,” wrote one individual, while another looked at a photo of the supposed First Lady at this event and wondered: Who the hell is that?! That is not Melania Trump. Another Twitter user wrote: “Who is that woman standing behind Trump because it is straight up not Melania?” And yet another chimed in as follows: I am not a conspiracy theorist but this is really weird. Here is a screen capture from a video of Donald and Melania from this morning. Can you see where these body double theories are coming from? To be clear, we really do not think the real Melania Trump was murdered. But famous people do sometimes trot out dopplegangers as a safety measure. In the case of Melania, however, it’s possible that she simply hates her cheating husband and her life and refuses to go out in public with the President sometimes. So his staff is left with no choice but to send a phony in her place. Melania Trump actually celebrated her birthday on Friday amid this new controversy. The White House marked this occasion by sending out a Tweet that read “Happy Birthday, @FLOTUS!” Nice enough, right? However, in the accompanying photo, Mrs. Trump is sitting alone on a sofa during a bilateral meeting between Donald Trump and Czech Prime Minister Andrej Babis in the Oval Office. Sort of an odd picture to use in honor of someone’s birthday — and Twitter took notice. There was this Photoshopping of The Donald next to his wife: And also this Photoshopping of the person who really, tragically runs the country alongside his puppet’s better half: Like, we don’t really believe all this Melania Trump body double chatter. But we’d also totally understand if she just wanted to go into hiding for the next year and a half, you know?
Joe Giudice hasn’t received much in the way of good news in recent months. As you’ve likely heard, Giudice may be headed for deportation and is currently being held in a Pennsylvania ICE facility. Last week, Giudice’s appeal was denied , and the former Real Housewives of New Jersey star is now left with little in the way of legal recourse. But apparently, fortune smiled on Giudice briefly today. According to Radar Online, Giudice’s deportation was delayed today so that a federal judge might review his petition for appeal. “Order temporarily granting motion for stay of removal…Removal is stayed until such time as the Court can consider the motion for stay of removal,” reads a court document obtained by the site. “We will continue to fight to keep Mr. Giudice in the United States, the only country he knows, and reunite him with his wife and four daughters,” Joe’s attorney lawyer James J. Leonard Jr. said in a statement to Radar. Obviously, that’s good news, as it means Giudice’s appeal hasn’t been thrown out completely. But these are likely tense times for Juicy Joe, as this will almost certainly be his last chance to convince a judge he deserves to remain in the United States. Along with his wife, Teresa Giudice, Joe was convicted of tax fraud back in 2015. The Giudices were allowed to serve their sentences back-to-back for the sake of their kids. At this point, they’ve both done their time — but since Joe was born in Italy and never became a US citizen, he may face the additional penalty of deportation. Earlier this week, Joe and Teresa’s daughter, Gia Giudice, posted a petition in which issues a heartfelt plea on her father’s behalf. “My father is not a danger to society, he is a warm loving man and I beg you sign our petition to give my father a second chance at being part of our lives and giving back to the community we live in once again,” the 18-year-old wrote. She addressed President Trump directly in the petition, which may be a good strategy, as Teresa starred in a season of The Apprentice during Trump’s tenure as host. But while the petition has already received 50,000 signatures, the outlook is still bleak for Joe An immigration judge who asked to remain anonymous tells Radar there’s “virtually no chance” that his appeal will be successful. We guess Joe might want to start boning up on his Italian! View Slideshow: 23 Teresa Giudice GIFs That Should Worry Her Fellow Inmates (and Everyone Else)
