Bethenny Frankel may soon be leaving Bravo , but she’s still quick to defend the network. Asked about the suicide of Russell Armstrong and whether The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills could be blamed for the tragedy, this reality star scoffed at the mere mention of such liability. “It’s preposterous to blame a TV show for someone’s suicide,” Bethenny told USA Today . “When the show started filming, I’d heard he wasn’t so kind to his wife.” Whatever problems Russell had, and whatever exposure they’d be given on the Real Housewives, Frankel says the troubled man knew what was in store for him before a single frame was shot: “People sign very lengthy documents and they know what they’re getting into. Life is stressful. It’s unfair to blame a TV show for something personal. I believe that I really do.” In one of his final interviews, Armstrong railed against the show that made him famous, citing its editing process and how he’s nothing like the person viewers saw each week. Bravo will premiere season two of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills on Monday night.
In a new interview with Univision, former boxer Oscar De La Hoya has opened up about the depth of his personal issues, which culminated this spring in a trip to rehab . “Rock bottom was recently,” De La Hoya said, according to an English-language transcript provided by the network. “Within couple of years, just thinking if my life was even worth it. I don’t have the strength, I don’t have the courage to take my own life but I was thinking about it.” De La Hoya says he’s been sober for three months and admits, yes, he was unfaithful to his wife. However: “We are obviously not talking a Tiger Woods here.” Known as The Golden Boy during his time in the ring, De La Hoya retired in 2009 after a 16-year career and 10 world titles. He’s worked as a promoter in the sport since. “There were drugs, my drug of choice was cocaine and alcohol. Cocaine was recent. The last 2 years, last 2 1/2 years and I depended more in the alcohol than the cocaine,” De La Hoya said. “It took me to a place where I felt safe, it took me to a place where I felt as if nobody can say anything to me, it took me to a place where I just can reach out and grab my mom.” The athlete says he’s joined Alcoholic Anonymous. Singer drops first track from October’s Stronger album on her website. The song is an obvious Clarkson joint: feisty and straightforward, with a strong melody and a sing-along chorus. The midtempo breakup tune is about a girl letting her guy know that despite thinking he’s got it all figured out, he doesn’t. On the chorus, she blasts, “Oh, you think that you know me/ Know me/ That’s why I’m leaving you lonely/ Lonely/ ‘Cause baby you don’t know a thing about me/ You don’t know a thing about me.” She’s equally sassy on the bridge when she sings, “So what, you’ve got the world at your feet/ And you know everything about everything/ But you don’t/ You still think I’m comin’ back, but baby you’ll see.” The track was written by Brett James (who has a country pedigree, having written for Carrie Underwood), Ester Dean (Beyonc

Photo: MTV News T.I. was released from prison early Wednesday morning (August 31) and is on his way to a halfway house to serve out the rest of his 11-month sentence for probation violation. MTV News received confirmation from Federal Bureau of Prisons spokesman Chris Burke that T.I. was released from Forrest City Correctional Facility in Arkansas at 7:29 a.m. and is on his way to a community living facility. The name of the facility will not be released until after his arrival. The Atlanta rapper has been serving time for a probation violation stemming for his arrest in Los Angeles on drug charges last year. The King has already taken to Twitter to announce his return. “Feels great to be back where I belong…Back in the arms of those who need me the most,” he tweeted from his verified @Tip account. “The storm is over & da sun back out. IT’S OUR TIME TO SHINE SHAWTY!!!!! Welcome to the beginning of our Happy Ending!!!!” Fans will be getting an intimate look at T.I.’s return to freedom in December thanks to a new show with VH1. In the still untitled series, viewers will get a behind-the-scenes look at T.I., and his wife Tameka ‘Tiny’ Harris, as he tries to walk the straight and narrow and stay out of prison for good. The series is set to premiere on December 5 at 10 p.m. Previously, T.I. had a reality series titled “T.I.’s Road to Redemption” that ran in 2009 on MTV. The season premiere is a few weeks away, and the only thing more exciting than watching the new crop of celebs strut their stuff for the first time is finding out exactly what brave stars have been assembled to compete. The wait is over as ABC announced their bright, shiny new cast Monday night (August 29) during “Bachelor Pad.” Here’s a look at the eclectic new contestants readying their dancing shoes for season 13 of “Dancing With the Stars”: Nancy Grace The former prosecutor has made a name for herself as the host of her own talk show on HLN. Grace covers the world of current affairs, in a no-nonsense, take-no-prisoners approach that often draws criticism for her snap judgment and pointed opinions. Ricki Lake Longtime fans will always remember Lake from her big-screen debut as Tracy Turnblad in the 1988 movie “Hairspray.” Later in life, Lake made a name for herself with her daytime talk show, which ended its 11-year run in 2004 but is reportedly returning to TV in fall 2012. Chynna Phillips Phillips has long been in the public eye and is perhaps best known as being part of popular ’90s trio Wilson Phillips. David Arquette While Arquette is known for memorable roles in film and television, particularly as dopey policeman Dewey Cox in the “Scream” franchise, the actor/director/writer/occasional professional wrestler made headlines last year when he and Courteney Cox, his wife of nearly 11 years, announced their separation. Three months later, after giving Howard Stern a particularly revealing interview about the state of his marriage, Arquette checked himself into rehab for issues with alcohol. He is in recovery and has reportedly been sober since. Ron Artest Or should we say Metta World Peace? The outspoken Lakers player and rapper, who is currently trying to change his name to that Ochocinco-esque alias, made headlines years ago for an on-court brawl but is now known as a quirkily lovable personality. We’ll see what antics he has up his sleeve on the dance floor. J.R. Martinez This surefire fan favorite is an actor, motivational speaker and retired soldier who suffered burns over 40 percent of his body when his Humvee hit a landmine in Iraq. Martinez turned the harrowing experience into an inspirational tale for other burn victims and now has a role on ABC’s “All My Children.” Carson Kressly This fashion guru got his celebrity start as one of the “Fab Five” on Bravo’s “Queer Eye For The Straight Guy.” Kressley has an eye for how to make people look good and frequently appears on TV talk shows to offer his expert opinions on fashion.
