Former First Lady of the United States Betty Ford has passed away . She was the wife of President Gerald Ford (1913-2006), our 38th Chief Executive. Betty was 93. Ford, who struggled with alcohol issues earlier in life, may be even better known for having founded the Betty Ford Center near Palm Springs in 1982. It remains one of the premiere rehab facilities in the world with stars ranging from to Lindsay Lohan and Anna Nicole Smith to Kelsey Grammer, Billy Joel, Elizabeth Taylor, Johnny Cash and Liza Minnelli seeking help there. As First Lady in the mid-1970s, Betty Ford was extremely active in social policy and shattered precedents at the as a politically active presidential wife. Throughout her husband’s term in office, she maintained overwhelmingly popular with Americans despite opposition from some conservatives who objected to her more moderate and liberal positions on social issues. Ford was an advocate for the Equal Rights Amendment, and was noted for raising breast cancer awareness following her 1974 mastectomy. R.I.P.

Whitey Bulger Pleads Not Guilty to 19 Murders

We don’t foresee any miraculous verdict freeing this guy a la Casey Anthony . Two weeks after the shocking arrest of Whitey Bulger ended the infamous Boston crime boss’ decade and a half on the lam, he pleaded not guilty today in federal court to a laundry list of crimes, including 19 murders. The 81-year-old, who served as an FBI informant before vanishing in 1995, when he was tipped off that he was about to be indicted, has been ordered held without bail. Bulger agreed to waive the reading of charges against him. He is accused of 32 criminal counts in total, all felonies. The notorious fugitive pleaded not guilty in a soft voice. The Boston Globe reports that prosecutors expect a monthlong trial with as many as 40 witnesses. He was #1 on the FBI’s Most Wanted List at the time of his arrest, having taken over that spot only recently from Al Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden.

Weston Cage and Nikki Williams: Expecting! Getting Divorced!

The roller coaster ride that is Weston Cage’s life continues. Nic’s son made a couple of big announcements Wednesday: His wife, Nikki Williams, is pregnant with his child! He’s filing for divorce. Weston Cage , who has only been married since April, went to his Facebook page to break the news, saying, “Made my choice. getting divorced.” Their joint domestic violence arrest over the weekend may have factored into his decision somewhat. As for the whole pregnancy thing … Weston believes the news only backs his claim that he never laid a hand on Nikki before the two were both arrested following the melee. Cage wrote, “Never hit my wife. why would i start abusing after she was positive after taking a pregnant-c test.” That’s quite the reveal. Weston then added a cryptic message: “Have fun killing my child Breyan Prescott.” Hopefully he gets the help he needs, and quickly.
