Sony exec’s cause of death has not yet been established. By Jocelyn Vena Jay Dee Springbett Photo: Brendon Thorne/ Getty Images “Australian Idol” judge Jay Dee Springbett was found dead at his home in Sydney on Thursday. He was 36. He was discovered after friends called authorities when they couldn’t contact the former “Idol” judge. He was already dead when authorities arrived at his Woolloomooloo apartment, according to the Sydney Morning Herald. As of press time, nothing else was known about the cause of death, although authorities believe nothing suspicious happened. The U.K. native moved to Australia in 2004. He worked for Sony Music and joined “Idol” down under during the show’s final season in 2009, replacing Kyle Sandilands. He was known as the show’s resident “nice guy” judge. That year, Stan Walker was crowned the champ and later went on to become a successful artist in Australia and New Zealand. The show aired on Network Ten in Australia, and a spokesperson for the network released this statement: “Our heartfelt condolences go out to Jay Dee’s family at this very difficult time. Jay Dee was an asset to the final season of ‘Australian Idol,’ [and] we feel honored to have worked with him.” As a record executive, Springbett helped shape the careers of artists including Guy Sebastian, Human Nature, Rogue Traders and Natalie Bassingthwaighte. “Jay Dee was so very enthusiastic and passionate about his family, his music projects and his plans for the future,” Sony Music Entertainment Australian and New Zealand CEO Denis Handlin said in a statement to The Hollywood Reporter. “[He] was a great friend and larger-than-life charismatic character who will be missed enormously.” Fremantle, which produces the “Idol” shows, also expressed condolences in a statement. “The ‘Australian Idol’ family is deeply saddened by the passing of Jay Dee,” the statement reads. “Our thoughts are with his family and all at Sony Music.”

The movie is two hours and thirty-seven minutes, after all, so even with all the Autobot vs. Decepticon fighting action, there is plenty of room for an actual plot and, more importantly, a ton of fun Easter eggs for the most perceptive fans out there. In addition to all the “Star Trek” nods , Bay and company have cleverly inserted five “Transformers”-specific Easter eggs in the film. Thanks to the eagle eye of Splash Page editor Rick Marshall, along with his extensive “Transformers” knowledge, MTV News is proud to provide you with a few key things to look out for while watching “Dark of the Moon.” Not-So-New Girl Carly Played by Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, the character of Carly is new to Bay’s “Transformers” but has a meaty role as one of the humans in the “Transformers” cartoons. Carly is the wife of Spike Witwicky in the original animated series, the inspiration for Shia LaBeouf’s character Sam Witwicky. The Ark of the Moon The opening of “Dark of the Moon” is all about a mysterious ship that crash lands on the moon. Optimus Prime calls that ship “the Ark,” which is the name of the spaceship that first brought Optimus and the rest of the Transformers to Earth in the original cartoon. Spock’s Speaking-Part Past We mentioned the Nimoy connection in our “Trek” Easter eggs article, but his work is such a nerdy thrill, it gets another mention here. In “Dark of the Moon,” Nimoy is the voice of Sentinel Prime, which marks the second time he has lent his voice to a robot in the series. In the 1986 classic “Transformers: The Animated Movie,” Nimoy voiced Galvatron, Megatron’s equally mischievous successor. Bridges in Space We won’t go into details about how a space bridge may or may not be mentioned and/or used in “Dark of the Moon,” but throughout Transformers history onscreen and in comics, the space bridge allowed for travel between Earth and Cybertron. Old New Faces “Dark of the Moon” introduces us to a slew of new Autobots and Decepticons, although the die-hard “Transformers” fans out there will recognize the following from the cartoons. New-to-the-movie Autobots include: Wheeljack (has a strong Albert Einstein-like resemblance), Mirage (a red sports car) and Optimus Prime’s fancy silver trailer. Decepticon debuts include: fan-favorite master of destruction Shockwave and bird-like Lazerbeak, who transforms into a variety of objects, save for the excellent cassette-tape shape of his cartoon counterpart. ‘Transformers: Dark Of The Moon’: Hunting For Easter Eggs
The last few years have seen Patrick Wilson travel the hero route ( Watchmen ), the villain route ( The A-Team ), the romantic-lead route ( Morning Glory ), the romantic-foil route ( The Switch ), the beset-father route ( Insidious ) and the indie title-character route ( Barry Munday ). The versatile actor takes a road far less traveled in The Ledge , playing a religious zealot from under whose thumb his wife (Liv Tyler) squirms into an affair with the godless heathen next door (Charlie Hunnam). The triangle prompts a stand-off on the titular ledge, where a despondent cop (Terrence Howard) attempts to talk the heathen down. Sound crazy? It is! But in a good way.

Hello, my name is Saidah Belo-Osagie, and I have been a devoted belieber ever since late summer ‘09. I know a lot of people says this, but I am so happy that there is a website for Bieber experiences, because it has taught me to truly NEVER SAY NEVER. I will admit, before a couple of these experiences I will be sharing in about 3.7 seconds, I said ‘never’ quite a lot. I don’t have that much room to discuss at length about my JB concerts on 10/10/09, and 8/28/10, but they were absolutely amazing! His presence, confidence, and swagger makes him such an driven performer, and I’m so happy I got to be apart of those concerts and see all that work he puts in for his fans. This year, on 1/16/11 at 1:18 am, Justin Bieber RTed me! It was so unexpected, because usually to get his attention, I spam him with like 25 tweets. Since it was really late, and I couldn’t fall asleep, I just tweeted him once and he retweeted. One of the OLLGs was actually the first one to tweet me, and when I went on his page, I basically went cross-eyed; I was in so much disbelief I was crying and freaking out. Now, the most recent. I went to the Today Show on June 23rd . Justin Bieber was promoting his new fragrance, Someday (which by the way smells uh-ma-zing!) I woke up at 4am, so I could take the train there. My parents ended up taking me to the train at 6, so my first thought was,”I’m screwed.” I ended up getting to the city at 6:30. As I was running to the building, I already saw this line that was a block long. I was supposed to meet my friend Haylee (@baconbeacon6, she’s not really a belieber, but she still appreciates him), but she wasn’t there! I just calmly went on line, hoping they would let me in. To my surprise, the line was going by really fast. When I got in, the entire space was surrounded, and there was no place I could stand in that was not reserved or taken. I just stood by these 2 nice grandmas that were so sweet, they said when Justin came out, me and my friend could go in front of them! Unfortunately this lady next to us was being really stubborn and saying how my friend couldn’t stand with me and everything. Ok, I understand there are 40 yr olds that are fans of him, but really? You’re going to get into a fight with a 15 year old girl over a 17 year old boy? Luckily, it worked out, so that me and my friend squeezed ourselves into the front quite comfortably. As we stood for about 2 hours waiting for him to come, a lady who worked at the Today Show went through the crowd and gave me and my friend a sample of the perfume. Then some minutes later, another lady came and gave me a ‘Someday’ shirt, and said I could have it as long as I was wearing it haha, I guess I was apart of the whole promoting tool, which worked out for me because I was on TV more. Afterwards, The last lady was pushing her way till she came to me and asked if I wanted a huge poster to hold up to the camera. I was just like, ‘Omg yes!’ The fact that I was one of the only ones in my section that got this 3 foot cardboard of Justin Bieber’s face with the Someday perfume on it was so exciting, and it’s a great momento to the BEST morning of my life! As we were waiting for Justin Bieber to come, there would always be some random girls screaming, and I would get the biggest panic attack because I always though JB was like right there. Finally, he came out. I had never seen him so close up, so I was screaming like crazy. C’mon he was RIGHT THERE. I was in so much disbelief I thought I was dreaming. He was soon gravitating closer and closer to my side. He basically just went around spraying people’s hands with perfume and saying hi or smiling. He was so beautiful! Then he finally came about a foot away from me , and my heart was pounding. 2 years of preparing what I was going to say to him when I met him, just went out of my head. I was speechless. He came to me, smiled, and said, “Do you want me to spray you with perfume?” He was staring at me and I just went, “OH MY GOSH PLEASE DO!!” He smiled again and held my hand and sprayed my wrist-his hands are so soft omfb!!!! From the video, it looks like he is proposing to me because he is looking down at my hand, and I am gasping like he just asked me to be his wife! Then after that, I was like, “Do you want to take a picture with me?” He said: “Of course!!” Haylee took the picture of me and him. I just turned to look at him, and out of nowhere went, “Thank you so much like omg you don’t understand!!!” He winked at me and said ‘No problem’ and rubbed my shoulder. Right there and then, I could have sworn I died. I had his book in my hand, and I think he expected me to ask him to autograph it, which I was planning on doing, but no words were coming out of my mouth, it was like some Bieber phenomenon! Haylee had to basically hold me up from fainting! The basic moral of this story is that good things happen to those that wait. I did not think I was going to meet JBiebs in the near future at all, and I made countless 11:11 wishes, hoping that SOMEDAY I would meet him. But honestly, the day before I was so sad because my mom wouldn’t let me pay $135-$150 to meet him at Macy’s, and I didn’t win the M&Gs on the radio either. The fact that I got the best experience of my life without paying, and waiting says something. NEVER SAY NEVER!!
