Such was the case when recounting his first time meeting Real Housewives of Atlanta star and budding comedian NeNe Leakes . NeNe has always been transparent about wanting to branch off from her reality TV roots to add “comedian” to her resume. After a few successful TV and theater gigs, including a slot of Glee , The New Normal and Cinderella on Broadway, NeNe has been getting serious about stand up comedy. Unfortunately, her first go at it ended disastrously when she was recently booted from Xscape’s tour after hurling a cruel rape joke at a heckler. Now, it seems she’s made another misstep by meeting the legendary comedian without apparently having done her research. Mooney posted a picture of himself posing with NeNe and another woman, captioning the photo: “Sometimes? grin n bear it. I met NeNe, she never heard of me, Paul Mooney/ Godfather of comedy? Nelly’s Accuser Drops Rape Case And Refuses To Testify Well, that was fast. Barely one week after a woman stepped forward claiming that Nelly had forced her into a sexual encounter , she wants all charges dropped and is refusing to even speak on the matter in court. According to TMZ, the woman’s attorney claims that the pressure of standing up to a well-liked celebrity is too much for her client, and she’d rather just cope with what occurred in private than go through the fiasco of a trial and prosecution she may not even triumph in — not to mention what will happen to HER in the court of public opinion . “[She’s chosen to] put a halt to the criminal investigation of [Nelly]. She will not testify further in a criminal proceeding against him. Who will believe her? People are saying horrible things already. She cannot handle this. She is about to break.” Which makes sense…when there’s a rich/famous/otherwise well-liked accuser folks often assume the accuser is a liar/whore/opportunist who couldn’t possibly be telling the truth, and those comments were definitely already rolling in. But Nelly’s attorney has a different view of what happened. According to him, her dropping the charges is only proof that “[this] reckless accusation, once investigated thoroughly, was exposed for what it was — a fabrication. A fabrication that has caused Nelly and his family to suffer emotionally and financially.” He says her dropping the charges isn’t good enough. He wants her to reveal her identity in a public apology, and even plans to recommend that Nelly pursue legal action against HER. Sheesh. TMZ reports: Nelly’s attorney Scott Rosenblum tells us …the accuser’s “reckless accusation, once investigated thoroughly, was exposed for what it was-a fabrication. A fabrication that has caused Nelly and his family to suffer emotionally and financially.” He’s not satisfied though, and says he wants a public apology from the woman, and will recommend Nelly consider taking legal action against her. The woman’s attorney, Karen Koehler, says her client has told the Auburn PD in Washington State, and the King County D.A. to “put a halt to the criminal investigation of [Nelly]. She will not testify further in a criminal proceeding against him.” Koehler says the young woman feels the system has failed her and she can’t stand up to a celebrity. “Who will believe her. People are saying horrible things already. She cannot handle this. She is about to break.”

In April, Cissy Houston told the press that her granddaughter had “ global and irreversible brain damage .” On June 24, 2015 Pat Houston said the family would be moving her to hospice care. “Despite the great medical care at numerous facilities, Bobbi Kristina Brown’s condition has continued to deteriorate,” Houston said in a statement to the press. “As of today, she has been moved into hospice care. We thank everyone for their support and prayers. She is in God’s hands now.” A source close to the family later said that she had also been taken off her meds and the family was told she would pass at any moment. Source: Peopleimages / Getty A Banana Republic manager has been accused of threatening to cut a Black employee’s hours for wearing box braids to work, calling her popular hairstyle “urban and unkempt.” According to a recent Facebook post, Destiny Tompkins laid out the whole incident, explaining that her manager at the Westchester, New York branch pulled her aside to warn her about her hair after the company’s District Manager complained about it. Both mangers are white. READ ALSO: Appeals Court: Employees Don’t Have A Right To Wear Dreadlocks “I came in and he questioned me about the dress code and immediately, I thought there was something wrong with my outfit but he sat me down and questioned my hair instead,” the college sophomore wrote on social media. “He told me that my braids were not Banana Republic appropriate and that they were too “urban” and “unkempt” for their image. We are committed to upholding an inclusive environment where our customers and our employees feel respected.” As the New York Daily News points out, despite the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission considering treating someone differently based on hair texture race discrimination, many judges have not ruled in favor of plaintiffs suing employers for that kind of discrimination. Just last year we reported that an appeals court ruled that banning employees from wearing their hair in dreadlocks is not a form of racial discrimination. The lawsuit was brought to the court of appeals by the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, which charged that an Alabama insurance claims processing company had discriminated against Chastity Jones in 2010. They offered her employment [but stated] that she needed to get rid of her dreadlocks because of their grooming standards. When Jones refused, the company withdrew its offer of employment. Just when you thought 2017 couldn’t get more eventful for Aaron Carter … Wishful thinking, huh? Throughout this year — specifically these past few months — Aaron has seemed to be on a terrifying downward spiral. So terrifying that when he made an appearance on The Doctors last month, those doctors advised him that if he didn’t go to rehab to get his drug use sorted , he’d die. His problems began (or at least we learned of the severity of his problems) in July, when he was arrested for a DUI and drug possession . He and his then-girlfriend, Madison Parker, had marijuana on them, and he was seen driving erratically, though he did refuse testing at the time of his arrest. After that, he felt the need to defend himself against what he said were false accusations, which resulted in an extremely emotional interview in which he revealed he suffers from an eating disorder and hates his appearance. Then in September, he was visited by police four times in less than two days. The visits were for welfare checks, as people close to Aaron had called in to report that he may be a danger to himself or others . A couple of weeks later, police were called to his home again, and though we never heard many details on that visit, it seems to have been yet another welfare check. Luckily, something seemed to click then for Aaron — after that, he went off to rehab . In a series of tweets he made just before checking in for treatment, he explained that “this year has been crazy and I need some time off from it all.” “Going to get strong,” he wrote, “and deal with my stress conditions and get better.” He said that he’d be gone for “a while,” and that he didn’t plan on returning to social media until 2018 at the earliest. But he’s baaaaaaack! Yep, after just two weeks of treatment, Aaron is back at home. And though that may be a little concerning — two weeks doesn’t sound like nearly long enough to address whatever it was that was troubling him — at least one good thing has come from his short time away. Check out this transformation: For the past few years, Aaron has gotten a whole lot of hate for his appearance . He was very thin, and lots of people speculated that his size was due to drug use. He’s insisted that he’s thin because of a hiatal hernia that makes it difficult to eat, in addition to that eating disorder we already discussed. But now he says he’s gone “from 115 to 145 in just three weeks” because he “needed some time to heal.” He gained 30 pounds in three weeks, and he seems pretty pleased about it! “Thank you to everyone who has continued to believe in me and stick by my side,” he tweeted after sharing the photo. “I will always aim to make you proud but this was for me.” It also looks like he got his appetite back — he shared this photo of himself and asked “What’s for dinner? I’ll make both”: As for his abrupt departure from rehab, his rep made a statement explaining that “Several legal and personal matters arose that required his immediate in person attention.” “He is still very much committed to his wellness and will be continually working toward being the best possible person.” We hope for his sake that that’s the case. Time has not been kind to Nelly. And, if we’re to believe recent accusations against him, Nelly has not been kind to others in return. Early yesterday morning, he was arrested for allegedly raping a woman on his tour bus . He’s currently on tour with Florida Georgia Line, and the arrest happened a few hours after a show in Washington on Friday night. According to a statement from local police, a woman called 911 at nearly 4:00 AM and reported that Nelly had sexually assaulted her. After officers arrived on the scene and did some investigating, there was apparently enough evidence to make an arrest, and Nelly was taken into custody. There wasn’t enough evidence to hold him though, and a few hours later he was released. His lawyer then made a statement saying that “Nelly is the victim of a completely fabricated allegation.” “Our initial investigation,” he explained, “clearly establishes the allegation is devoid of credibility and is motivated by greed and vindictiveness.” “I am confident, once the scurrilous accusation is thoroughly investigated, there will be no charges.” The lawyer added that “Nelly is prepared to pursue all legal avenues to redress any damage caused by this clearly false allegation.” So far it’s obviously a pretty serious case of he-said, she-said, right? But now Nelly is speaking on his own behalf. Shortly after the news broke of his arrest, he hopped on Twitter to defend himself. “Let me say that I am beyond shocked that I have been targeted with this false allegation,” he began. “I am completely innocent.” “I am confident that once the facts are looked at, it will be very clear that I am the victim of a false allegation.” “I do want to apologize to my loved ones for the embarrassment and for putting myself in a situation where I could be victimized by this false and defaming allegation,” he wrote. Nelly also thought it was important “to thank my fans for their unwavering support.” “They know me,” he said. “I assure you I will be vindicated. And I assure you, I will pursue every legal option to address this defaming claim.” “Thank you.” And just in case you didn’t follow that statement his lawyer wrote for him, he added “In other words y’all know damm well I ain’t do no dumm S^*t like this..!! Love ..!!!!” About an hour after making those tweets, he logged back on to clear up an extra bit of confusion. “To be absolutely clear,” he wrote, “I have not been charged with a crime therefore no bail was required. I was released, pending further investigation.” At this point, it’s hard to say who’s telling the truth. Nelly and his team could be right, this woman could have made up this whole story. But then again, Nelly could be doing his best to cover up his crimes — let’s be real, it’s not exactly unprecedented for a celebrity to use his fame as a way to prey on women like this. He’s currently on tour with Florida Georgia Line, and the arrest happened a few hours after a show in Washington on Friday night. According to a statement from local police, a woman called 911 at nearly 4:00 AM and reported that Nelly had sexually assaulted her. After officers arrived on the scene and did some investigating, there was apparently enough evidence to make an arrest, and Nelly was taken into custody. There wasn’t enough evidence to hold him though, and a few hours later he was released. His lawyer then made a statement saying that “Nelly is the victim of a completely fabricated allegation.” “Our initial investigation,” he explained, “clearly establishes the allegation is devoid of credibility and is motivated by greed and vindictiveness.” “I am confident, once the scurrilous accusation is thoroughly investigated, there will be no charges.” The lawyer added that “Nelly is prepared to pursue all legal avenues to redress any damage caused by this clearly false allegation.” So far it’s obviously a pretty serious case of he-said, she-said, right? But now Nelly is speaking on his own behalf. Shortly after the news broke of his arrest, he hopped on Twitter to defend himself. “Let me say that I am beyond shocked that I have been targeted with this false allegation,” he began. “I am completely innocent.” “I am confident that once the facts are looked at, it will be very clear that I am the victim of a false allegation.” “I do want to apologize to my loved ones for the embarrassment and for putting myself in a situation where I could be victimized by this false and defaming allegation,” he wrote. Nelly also thought it was important “to thank my fans for their unwavering support.” “They know me,” he said. “I assure you I will be vindicated. And I assure you, I will pursue every legal option to address this defaming claim.” “Thank you.” And just in case you didn’t follow that statement his lawyer wrote for him, he added “In other words y’all know damm well I ain’t do no dumm S^*t like this..!! Love ..!!!!” About an hour after making those tweets, he logged back on to clear up an extra bit of confusion. “To be absolutely clear,” he wrote, “I have not been charged with a crime therefore no bail was required. I was released, pending further investigation.” At this point, it’s hard to say who’s telling the truth. Nelly and his team could be right, this woman could have made up this whole story. But then again, Nelly could be doing his best to cover up his crimes — let’s be real, it’s not exactly unprecedented for a celebrity to use his fame as a way to prey on women like this.
