The single-mom Professor was in a bind and brought her baby girl to work…but none of her students expected her to break her tiddays out of her top during their lecture. Adrienne Pine was in a jam. The assistant anthropology professor at American University was about to begin teaching “Sex, Gender & Culture,” but her baby daughter woke up in the morning with a fever. The single mother worried that she had no good child-care options. So Pine brought her sick baby to class. The baby, in a blue onesie, crawled on the floor of the lecture hall during part of the 75-minute class two weeks ago, according to the professor’s account. The mother extracted a paper clip from the girl’s mouth at one point and shooed her away from an electrical outlet. A teaching assistant held the baby and rocked her at times, volunteering to help even though Pine stressed that she didn’t have to. When the baby grew restless, Pine breast-fed her while continuing her lecture in front of 40 students. Now Pine finds herself at the center of a debate over whether she did the right thing that day and what the ground rules are for working parents who face such child-care dilemmas.“Every working parent can empathize with facing the choice of an important day at work when a child gets sick,” officials added in a second statement Tuesday afternoon. “Both demand your focus and attention. There is no easy or ideal alternative.”Some students interviewed Tuesday said breast-feeding doesn’t belong in the classroom. University officials, however, said professors should avail themselves of other options rather than expose students to potential illness. “For the sake of the child and the public health of the campus community, when faced with the challenge of caring for a sick child in the case where backup childcare is not available, a faculty member should take earned leave and arrange for someone else to cover the class, not bring a sick child into the classroom,” university spokeswoman Camille Lepre said in an e-mail. Another partially exciting season of Bachelor Pad is in the books, and the finale of ABC’s guilty pleasure smash certainly packed in something for everyone. Who won it all? Who broke up? Who got engaged? Let’s break it all down in THG’s final BP recap … Kalon McMahon and Lindzi Cox are still together! Plus 20 . Erica Rose, in a desperate attempt to stay relevant, tells Lindzi to be careful because she’s spotted Kalon at different events with other women. Minus 10 . Lindzi didn’t know what to say or do. So, yeah. Minus 5 . Jaclyn said she was still hurt by being betrayed by her “best friend” Rachel on the last episode, when the latter did not take Jackie and Ed to the finale. Rachel said Nick pushed to oust them because they would have been a bigger threat, which makes total sense. Jaclyn? Not altogether stable. Minus 50 . Blakeley Shea, or Blakeley Jones , or Blakeley Shea Jones … whatever she wants to be called, she may not have won the money, but she won in love. Seriously. She and Tony Pieper are still together! Therein lies the problem with screwing people over all season. He won enough competitions to make it this far, but votes were in short supply for C. Rachel and Nick got almost a clean sweep. Plus 40 . Now for the interesting part – or what has the potential to be. In separate rooms, Nick and Rache had to decide to “share” or “keep” the money. If both choose to split it down the middle, that’s exactly what happens with the prize. If one chooses to keep the $250,000, their partner is out of luck. If both choose to keep it, the money gets dispersed among the rest of the Bachelor Pad housemates and Rachel and Nick walk away with nothing. It’s a big dice roll any way you slice it, but Rachel Trueheart said she wouldn’t have gotten this far without her partner and chose to share the cash. After saying how he got here on his own, Nick decided to KEEP IT FOR HIMSELF. Nick Peterson is your SOLE Bachelor Pad winner, ladies and gentlemen! Plus 275 for the major brass that took. The Mid-Atlantic was rocked with storms yesterday. Rain, hail, 60 mph winds, and Tornadoes touched down in New York! As a swirling mass of black cloud swept over the Rockaways on Saturday morning…not one but two tornadoes ripped through parts of Brooklyn and Queens, causing as much bemusement as terror among New Yorkers unaccustomed to such aggressive weather. One tornado ripped through a beach club in Queens, one of several outbursts of severe weather across the New York region that flooded roads, felled power lines, and forced the delay of the United States Open. A second tornado touched down in Canarsie, Brooklyn, the National Weather Service said. The swirling columns of wind and water in Queens, captured by dozens of people on cellphones and almost instantly posted on the Internet, lasted only minutes, according to witnesses. But in that short time the tornado tore down walls, lifted roofs off homes and tangled power lines as it cut a path through the Rockaways, near Breezy Point. Police Commissioner Raymond W. Kelly, who arrived in Breezy Point on Saturday afternoon to assess the damage, said there had been no reports of injuries. The second tornado struck Brooklyn about 11:30 a.m. with a speed of 110 miles an hour and traveled about half a mile, the Weather Service said. The severe weather was expected to continue into the night as a cold front moving in from the west made its way into the area, meeting up with the warm, moist air ahead of it and causing instability in the atmosphere. A woman named Kayla Goldberg has filed a lawsuit against Kris Humphries because she claims the estranged husband of Kim Kardashian gave her Herpes. Really, we couldn’t make up stories about this guy if we tried. According to TMZ sources, Goldberg alleges she met Humphries at a bar in Los Angeles in August 2010. They flirted and exchanged information and later went back to Kris’ hotel room, where they reportedly engaged in many rounds of sex, including of the oral variety. Goldberg says Humphries did not always wear a condom, nor did he inform her that he possessed the STD in question. A week later – boom ! – Kayle was diagnosed with Herpes. She is now suing Kris for unspecified damages. This could clearly be nothing more than a money grab. But between Goldberg and Myla Sinanaj and Kardashian, Humphries knows how to pick his women.
Dear Bossip, My husband cheated on me a couple of years ago and as a result he had a daughter with this woman who claims to be our friend. And, she was our Boss at one point. I found out when she served him papers for child support. I was devastated after six years of marriage. I wanted to call it off, but he convinced me that he did not want anything to do with them, and didn’t want to have a life with her only with me, and have a family of our own one day. Since he knew I didn’t want him to have any contact with the woman, but in order to know about his daughter, which looks a lot like him, he stared calling behind my back. I found out after I saw a text from her. We argued and he told me that he wanted to know his daughter and it was killing him inside missing time with her. Finally, I made a decision. I went to talk to this lady in person and told her what my husband wanted and that I was 100% supportive as long as we stay clear of what the purpose is – which is the girl to know and build a relationship with her dad. She said yes to me. We meet and spend time with them. Everything was looking way to good to be true. My husband and I agreed he would only speak to her in front of me, and only about the girl. Unfortunately, things were too good to be true. It turns out this woman requested time alone with my husband, and for him to tell her if he really doesn’t want anything with her. And, if I’m around they were to get a code word so she knows when they are on the phone. He told me he called her from a friend’s cell so I wouldn’t see the numbers if I checked our lines. He claims this is the only way to end whatever doubts this woman has. I’m so frustrated and disappointed at myself and don’t know what to say anymore. I want him to have a nice relationship with his daughter. She is only three and a half now, and I want to be strong to deal with this woman, but not like this again. How can I convince him to see that giving her that time alone or not having calls around me will make her think he still doesn’t respect me or give me my place? If you can’t handle this bit of important information and their relationship, then you need to get a divorce ASAP! The child is three and half years old. You do realize she is still a child. Therefore you’ve got the pre-teen years, teenage years, and her becoming a young woman. Which means that this road is going to get worse and bumpier as you travel on it. If you can’t deal with it now, then get out NOW! But, let’s get something abundantly clear – Your husband cheated on you. Your husband has been deceitful and manipulative and he continues to be deceitful and manipulative. You only found out about the whole hotmess.com after he was served with papers for child support from the woman, your former boss (Let’s make sure you understand that point), and it’s been over three years. Otherwise, he would have never told you. So, his behavior and what he continues to do and show you are a result of who he is. GIRL, WHEN SOMEONE SHOWS YOU WHO THEY ARE BELIEVE THEM!!! All of his actions point in one direction: He’s a liar. He can’t be trusted. And, then he goes behind your back and conspire with the woman, your former boss, whom he cheated with and bore a child, (I’m going to drive that point home), and they create a code word so they can have secret conversations. And, on top of that he went out of his way to use a friend’s cell phone to call her. Hmmmm, what does that tell you about your husband? Again, I’ll let that marinate in your thick a** skull. You’re so busy trying to be superwoman, correctional officer, and parole officer trying to prove you’re understanding, and willing to get along with all of this drama and ignorant bull-ish that you are failing to miss the entire big picture: HE DOES NOT RESPECT YOU OR YOUR MARRIAGE. It’s time to get yourself some self-esteem. Some respect. Some self-worth. Some backbone. You don’t deserve this from him. You deserve so much more, and until you realize it he is going to keep doing what he is doing and that is playing you and mistreating you. You can be understanding and supportive, but it doesn’t take you being married to him to do this. He violated your marriage, and didn’t even bother to tell you about his love child until only after he was caught. Otherwise, you would have been completely in the dark. And, who’s to say that she is the only woman he’s cheated with. Did you ask him if there were others? And, how long did the affair with your former boss last? That’s some ole trifling and shady a** -ish for this woman to be your friend, and boss, yet, she was sleeping with your man and smiling in your face. SMDH! Girl, please pull your big girl panties up and bounce up out. They deserve to be together. He doesn’t love you. He doesn’t respect your marriage. He doesn’t care what you think or say. He is going to do what he wants to do. So, let that MF run amuck. He’ll learn his lesson, and trust and believe he’ll come running back to you on his hands and knees begging you to take him back.
