Just a year after it was announced that her collection of work would be added to Harvard University’s library , the Alabama native will now be inducted into the National Women’s Hall of Fame, the University of California Santa Cruz reported. Davis—a former member of the Black Panther Party—has utilized her platform to spread awareness about racial inequality and mass incarceration. She also served as a member of the Students Nonviolent Coordinating Committee and was jailed in the early 70s after for allegedly trying to help free imprisoned activist George Jackson . After being acquitted in 1972, Davis turned to education and lectured around the world about history and consciousness. She also penned ten books that were focused on feminism, race and incarceration. “I would say that as our struggles mature, they produce new ideas, new issues and new terrain on which we engage in the quest for freedom,” she said in an interview with The Nation . “Like Nelson Mandela, we must be willing to embrace the long walk toward freedom.” Davis will be inducted along with nine other influential women who dedicated their careers to the advancement of women and fighting for equal rights. Amongst the 2019 inductees are U.S. Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor , women’s rights attorney Gloria Allred , scientist Flossie Wong-Staal , musician Laurie Spiegel , actress Jane Fonda , artist Rose O’Neill , former United States Representative Louise Slaughter , lawyer Sarah Deer and retired United States Air Force officer Nicole Malachowski . “We are pleased to add these American women to the ranks of inductees whose leadership and achievements have changed the course of American history,” Betty Bayer , President of The National Women’s Hall of Fame, said in a statement. The institution—which was founded 50 years ago—is the country’s oldest organization that has been dedicated to highlighting the accomplishments of women in different sectors. The induction ceremony is slated to take place on September 14. I don’t know what to believe. You never know what couples will do, especially when abuse is a part of their relationship, as we have seen. But I can admit that there was something desperate about this video. And I can’t understand why Fab would say he would need to fight for his relationship by posting this video, if there was really nothing going on. Perhaps he really was on a date and is trying to save himself from having to deal with those consequences. Then again, this wouldn’t be the first time he’s stepped out on Emily. The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills reunion special aired Tuesday night, and while there was a fair amount of drama on set, the real fireworks were going off on Twitter. You see, Brandi Glanville was clearly watching the show live, and the former RHOBH cast member had a lot to say about the proceedings: As you may recall, Glanville was fired from the show back in 2015, but either her ex-castmates still get under her skin, or she’s angling to get her old job back, because Brandi was throwing some major shade online during Tuesday night’s broadcast. Most of her ire was directed at Camille Grammer, who argued that Brandi was the reason Lisa Vanderpump decided not to attend this year’s reunion : “She’s pissed about Brandi,” Camille said at one point. “[She’s pissed Brandi] showed up on the show, absolutely. She’s her archenemy! She feels so betrayed.” From there, Brandi turned her attention to Denise Richards and accused of her conspiring with Brandi against Lisa: “I’m just assuming — and I could be absolutely wrong — but she felt throughout this season that you’ve had her back, Denise, but you talking to Brandi,” said an outraged Camille. “Brandi’s her archenemy.” While the Glanville-Vanderpump feud is the stuff of legend, Camille is likely overstating her case, as Lisa had lots of reasons to skip the reunion. On the show, Denise argued that she and Brandi “didn’t meet to talk about Vanderpump.” And on Twitter, Brandi positively unloaded on Camille: “I am NOT LVP’s arch enemy!! That is absolute insanity. Trust and believe that is UNTRUE!!!” Glanville tweeted. “I adore [Denise] after meeting her at a dinner party for our mutual agent! [Not to mention] 95% of our conversation was not about LVP at all!” From there, Brandi revealed that she was quick to reach out when Lisa’s brother died last year. Then she continued to go off on Grammer: “Nope [Camille] I don’t buy it!” Brandi continued. “She knows for a fact that I’m a proper f–king person and that I do the RIGHT thing when I’m suppose to. We may not be friends but I’m not LVP’s #1enemy.” When a fan agreed with Brandi’s sentiments, Glanville replied by dismissing Camille as a “wishy-washy c-nt.” And believe it or not, the tirade didn’t end there: “Let me be clear, LVP and I have a past that we will not recover from but I refuse to let [Denise] be called out for provoking anything!” Brandi tweeted. “I was on ONE episode of an entire season where the women had their own separate issues with her. That’s f–king it.” She added: “It’s clear to me that if certain people feel that they are going down they have the need to take everyone down with them. If I had done that the ENTIRE housewives world would be ‘shook.’ “I’m not that person and that’s not how I’m raising my boys. During Comic Con this weekend, Tessa revealed, not only will Valkyrie appear in Thor: Love and Thunder , she will be looking for love in the same sex, making her Marvel’s first on-screen LGBTQ superhero. “As new king [of Asgard], she needs to find her queen. That will be the first order of business,” Tessa revealed during Marvel Studio’s Hall H panel at Comic-Con . Tessa’s bad a** character Valkyrie is originally bisexual in the comics so it only made sense to have her live-action portrayal match. Some couples on TV make shows worth watching. Other couples are just there, taking up precious room on the screen. We hate to say it, but we really want the 13 couples below to call it quits or just, like, keep their affection off the screen. 1. Fred and Serena – The Handmaid’s Tale Fred and Serena were both instrumental in starting the terrors that occur in Gilead, but there’s no love between them. Fred had his wife’s finger cut off. There’s nothing between them, and the fact they’re still married is very concerning. 2. Meredith and DeLuca – Grey’s Anatomy This pairing was out there … even for a primetime soap like Grey’s Anatomy. It came out of nowhere, there’s a lack of chemistry, and things got downright messy. They need to call it quits. 3. Niko and Eve – Killing Eve Niko and Eve were once very much in love … until Eve became infatuated with an assassin named Villanelle. Their relationship is at the breaking point, and they should just quit already. 4. Lucious and Cookie – Empire The term “whiplash” comes to mind when we think of Cookie and Lucious. They’re together one scene, and apart the next. It’s tiring, and we grew bored with it after the first season. 5. Harvey and Donna – Suits We waited eight seasons for them to get together, but when they finally wised up, there was no chemistry. It was exhausted years before because of the sheer amount of teases of a relationship with very little payoff. 6. Dylan and Andrew – PLL: The Perfectionists The Pretty Little Liars spinoff may suck, but Dylan and Andrew are part of the problem. Meghan McCain has opened way up about something extremely personal and extremely painful. The View panelist recently lost her baby due to a miscarriage. Via an op-ed in The New York Times this past Friday, the daughter of late Senator John McCain wrote very simply: “To the end of my days I will remember this child.” She continued in candid detail: “My miscarriage was a horrendous experience and I would not wish it upon anyone. I loved my baby, and I always will.” The talk show host, who some believe may leave The View in the very near future , said this pregnancy came as a joyous “surprise,” explaining that the baby girl she was expecting would have been her and husband Ben Domenech’s first child. However, she said she suffered a miscarriage the same day she shot a cover story for New York Times Magazine about the aforementioned morning program. “I look back at those pictures now, and I see a woman hiding her shock and sorrow,” she wrote of this shoot, adding: “I am posed for the camera, looking stern and strong, representing my fellow conservative women across the country. But inside, I am dying. Inside, my baby is dying.” Just so awful. We truly cannot imagine going through such an experience. McCain went on to say she isn’t looking for sympathy or a lot of special attention or anything. Instead, she went public with this terrible news because she wants to destigmatize the “distressingly common” occurrence. (Many studies say that one in four women have suffered a miscarriage.) “We deserve the opportunity to speak openly of them, to share what they were and to mourn,” McCain wrote in her piece. As for why it happened in this case? No one can ever say for sure; it can often just be chalked up to bad luck. However… “I blamed myself,” McCain sadly says. “Perhaps it was wrong of me to choose to be a professional woman, working in a high-pressure, high-visibility, high-stress field, still bearing the burden of the recent loss of my father and facing on top of that the arrows that come with public life.” “I blamed my age, I blamed my personality,” she continued. “I blamed everything and anything a person could think of, and what followed was a deep opening of shame. This, I told myself, is the reason my body is a rock-strewn wasteland in which no child may live.” John McCain died last August . And Meghan sort of takes comfort in the symmetry between that loss and the loss of her daughter. “When my father passed, I took refuge in the hope that someday we would be united in the hereafter,” she said. “I still imagine that moment, even as I trust that a loving God will see it happen.
