Tyler, The Creator Says He Kept Odd Future Secret From His Mom

‘She found out through other people,’ Tyler tells MTV News. By Steven Roberts, with reporting by Christopher Smith Odd Future’s Tyler, the Creator Photo: MTV News Odd Future’s de facto leader, Tyler, the Creator, was blessed with a haunting, captivating voice, the perfect fit for his witty, yet often uncomfortable, lyrics. His voice will be on full display when he and his Odd Future groupmates take the stage to perform at the 2011 mtvU Woodies on Wednesday night (March 16). But what fans may not know is that Tyler is also a producer. Along with MellowHype’s Left Brain, Tyler has produced a majority of Odd Future’s rich but brief catalog. A photo recently surfaced of Left Brain and Tyler in the studio with Chad Hugo and Pharrell Williams of the Neptunes. Both Left Brain and Tyler’s work is deeply influenced by the once-ubiquitous production duo, and Tyler has made no secret of their impact on his life, even tweeting about meeting with Pharrell.

Nate Dogg, Voice of G-Funk, Dead At 41

Singer had suffered several strokes in recent years, but cause of death has not been announced. By Gil Kaufman Nate Dogg Photo: Todd Williamson/ Getty Images One of rap’s most lauded male hook singers, Long Beach, California native Nate Dogg (born Nathaniel Hale) died on Tuesday at the age of 41 after several years of health problems. With his deep, melodic voice and smooth soul rumble, Dogg was one of the key elements in the rise of the West Coast G-Funk sound pioneered by Death Row Records in the early 1990s. Though overshadowed by such peers as Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg and Warren G, Nate was a critical participant in a number of major left-coast gangsta hits, including G’s “Regulate” and Dre’s iconic solo debut, 1992’s The Chronic. Hale’s death was first reported by the Long Beach Press Telegram, which noted that his family announced his death on Tuesday. The cause of death was not announced at press time, but Hale had struggled with serious health issues recently, including suffering a massive stroke in 2007 that left him partially paralyzed and another the following year . A spokesperson for the singer could not be reached for comment at press time for further details on his passing. Hale was born in Long Beach on August 19, 1969, and dropped out of high school at 16 to join the Marines, where he served for three years. He formed the rap group 213 — a reference to the local area code — in 1991 with then unknown pals Snoop Dogg and Warren G. The group’s demo eventually made its way to Dre, who liked Nate’s sound and recruited him to participate on The Chronic. Nate was a four-time Grammy nominee, earning his first nod in 1995 for the legendary Warren G collaboration “Regulate,” followed by another in 2001 for providing a hook to the Dre and Snoop tune “The Next Episode.” He earned his third notice in 2002 for singing on Ludacris’ “Area Codes” and another in 2007 for his work on Eminem’s “Shake That.” Though his instantly recognizable, laid-back sound blessed countless songs by other artists over the years, Dogg also released a number of solo albums, including 1998’s double-CD G-Funk Classics Vol. 1 & 2 (featuring guest spots from Kurupt, Daz Dillinger, Tupac Shakur, Snoop Dogg and Warren G), 2001’s Music & Me and a self-titled 2008 effort. Following news of Nate’s passing, a number of his hip-hop brethren reflected on their fallen comrade. The news appeared to hit both Snoop Dogg and DPG member Daz the hardest. “We lost a true legend n hip hop n rnb” tweeted Snoop. “One of my best friends n a brother to me since 1986 when I was a sophomore at poly high where we met. I love u buddy luv. U will always b wit me 4ever n a day u put the g n g funk u put the 1 n 213 n u put yo stamp on evrybdy u ever didit wit …

Foo Fighters Take Us Behind The Scenes Of ‘Rope’ Video

‘Rope’ premieres on MTV and MTV.com tonight at 7:54 p.m. ET/PT, followed by a live stream at MTV.com. By Vaughn Schoonmaker The Foo Fighters Photo: Steve Gullick “I don’t know what we’re doing,” Dave Grohl says, staring with a serious expression into the camera. “Because I don’t know what I’m doing!” Grohl probably really did know what he was doing as he directed the new Foo Fighters music video, “Rope,” which premieres on MTV at 7:54 p.m. ET/PT on Thursday (March 10), but he played up the modesty while giving a behind-the-scenes sneak peek at his work. “Dave’s paying attention to what’s happening and watching the monitors, tweaking things here and there,” explains the Foo Fighters bassist, Nate Mendel. “He comes up with the idea and maps it out and then you’ve got people to actually run the cameras that know what to do [with] all the technical stuff and getting in there and making sure it’s something that’s going to look good.” Grohl has already directed the band’s videos for “My Hero,” “Monkey Wrench” and “All My Life,” so it is no big surprise that he has stepped up to helm “Rope,” the first single off of the Foo Fighters’ seventh studio album, Wasting Light. This time around, fans can expect a performance-based video. “It’s easy for me to come up with a treatment or direct the band because I know what we’re like,” Dave told MTV News recently. “I know what we look like when we play, so most of the Foo Fighters videos that I’ve done have at least a little bit of performance in them.” The entire video was shot on VHS tape to give it an edgier look, and as Dave recently explained, “We had to build this cube out of fabric and wood for the band to play within, and it’s lit from outside,” he explained. “And then, there’s a part in the video where it’s actually revealed that we’re inside this weird white cube. At first it just seems like we’re in this glowing white room from within, and then towards the end, the big reveal is we’re in this room, which is within a massive room.” That concept might be confusing, but Dave makes one thing about the video very clear. “I’m not getting paid for this,” he smirks. “It’s a freebie. You’re welcome, band!” The Foo Fighters’ “Rope” video premieres live at 7:54 p.m. ET/PT tonight on MTV and MTV.com, followed by an exclusive Q&A session from one lucky Foo fan’s house to be live-streamed on MTV.com. Fans can submit questions via Twitter (@MTVNews using hashtag #askfoos). Related Videos Gearing Up For The Foo Fighters’ ‘Rope’ Video Premiere Related Artists Foo Fighters

Pregnant Jessica Alba in Leggings of the Day

These were pictures of Jessica Alba pretending to be a good mother by hugging her daughter goodbye for the paparazzi before passing her off to the nanny to tend to her because her kid thinks her nanny is her mother, and Alba is some Aunt who takes her out for photo opps…. You see when she got knocked up the first time by Cash Warren, it was to trap him when he was trying to escape his relationship to her, she never really planned on doing any of the work, that the benefit of being a rich self involved cunt, she probably didn’t realize it was going to ruin her career, cuz self involved cunts don’t realize they have no talent and were just cast cuz people wanted to fuck them….not that I really know anything about Alba, other than that she’s pregnant again, and walking around in pussy hugging leggings, that I don’t mind lookin’ at, cuz pregnant or not, mangled mom pussy or not, fat, sloppy or not, I’m always down with leggings on bitches, especially when they can’t do the whole bikini thing anymore and this is the best the bitch can get…It’s one of the main reasons I leave my house.
