Kids’ Choice Awards 2011: The Show And Winners List

By Aly Semigran Russell Brand and Rico Rodriguez get slimed onstage during Nickelodeon’s Kids’ Choice Awards Photo: Kevork Djansezian/ Getty Images For 23 years, Nickelodeon’s Kids’ Choice Awards has been an event in which celebrities can truly let loose. After all, it’s hard to have an ego when you’re getting covered in green slime or being inducted into the Arm Fart Hall of Fame (we’re looking at you, Josh Duhamel). Nick’s 2011 awards show, which aired lived on the network Saturday from Los Angeles, kept with its tradition of stars finding themselves in some truly outrageous situations. Host Jack Black , who was at the helm for the third time (he last helped hand out those coveted orange kaleidoscope blimps in 2008), kicked things off with an over-the-top musical number. The funnyman, wearing a black leather jumpsuit with flames — the first of many quirky wardrobe changes — was joined by a group of dancers to perform his own rendition of the Black Eyed Peas’ hit “I Gotta Feelin’.” Black then introduced the group, as the “Jack Black Eyed Peas,” and joined them onstage for “The Time (Dirty Bit).” BEP, who later won the award for Best Music Group, then sang their next single, “Just Can’t Get Enough.” The first award of the evening was given out to Johnny Depp, who won Favorite Movie Actor for his performance in “Alice in Wonderland.” Depp, who emerged from backstage, told the kiddie crowd and voters it was “truly a pleasure to receive this award that comes from you guys. I appreciate it.” After apologizing for beating Black in the category, Depp told Nick viewers, “You guys are the future; take good care of us.” The actor then proceeded to get in on the fun, sliming the group of young fans who stood at the foot of the stage. Depp’s stunt led to one of the evening’s most memorable — and by far, funniest — moments when “Arthur” actor Russell Brand and “Modern Family” star Rico Rodriguez appeared onstage soon after to present the award for Favorite Voice from an Animated Movie (the blimp eventually went to Eddie Murphy, who got the crowd to sing him “Happy Birthday,” for his role in “Shrek Forever After”). Before Brand and Rodriguez could even begin their banter at the podium, the freshly slimed youngsters began throwing the green, gooey mess at the two stars. In response to the mayhem, Brand declared, “I’m never having children.” Brand continued, as he guarded Rodriguez from the kiddie coup, “I am English! I am your leader! You must not do this, I am royalty! You are all going to juvenile hall. You children are going to prison. You are bad children!” Brand, who is voicing a character in the animated feature “Hop,” cried that the moment was not in the script, then joked, “Johnny, I wished you’d drowned them.” They weren’t the only stars to get slimed during the broadcast. Heidi Klum, who almost took a spill thanks to her sky-high heels, got hit, as did Jason Segel, who received a slime slushie courtesy of Jane Lynch. Even Snoop Doog — who joined pop-rock group and Nick stars Big Time Rush for their song “Boyfriend” — got doused in the green stuff. As Willow Smith performed her hits “21st Century Girl” and “Whip My Hair,” the 10-year-old was cheered on by her dad, Will Smith, and brother, Jaden Smith, who were in the audience. The final big award of the evening went to Miley Cyrus , who won for Favorite Movie Actress for “The Last Song.” The former “Hannah Montana” star attempted to put gossip to rest during her acceptance speech as she thanked her family for supporting her career. Cyrus will no doubt get fans wondering about the status of her relationship with “Last Song” co-star and on-again, off-again beau Liam Hemsworth , whom she thanked for “helping me make movie magic” in the 2010 drama. The Big Help Award, which was presented by Rosario Dawson, went to singer/actor Justin Timberlake for his devotion to charities, particularly the work he does with Shriners Hospital for Children. In between cracking jokes about burping and getting the crowd to cheer if they had ever helped anyone, Timberlake took the time to tell his young fans, “Your heart is the most beautiful part, so don’t forget to use it.” In addition to telling kids they can do their part to help, even with major issues such as the crisis in Japan, the star said something bound to make any adult watching elated: “Listen to your parents!” Finally, Kourtney and Kim Kardashian hit the stage to help give away the last award of the night for Favorite TV Show, which went to the kid-friendly Nickelodeon hit “iCarly.” Black kept a high energy throughout the show, including some interactions with his “Kung Fu Panda 2” character, Po, — one of which featured a cameo from Britney Spears in a pre-recorded segment. He ended the evening with a slime battle between himself and Jim Carrey, who made a surprise finale appearance. Other winners included: Favorite Female Singer Katy Perry Favorite Male Singer Justin Bieber Favorite Song “Baby” – Justin Bieber Favorite Movie “The Karate Kid” Favorite Animated Movie “Despicable Me” Favorite Reality Show “American Idol” Favorite TV Actress Selena Gomez Favorite TV Actor Dylan Sprouse Favorite Book “Diary of a Wimpy Kid” series Favorite Cartoon “Spongebob Square Pants” Favorite Male Athlete Shaquille O’Neal Favorite Female Athlete Lindsey Vonn Favorite Video Game “Just Dance 2” What was your favorite moment at the 2011 Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards? Daniel Radcliffe Feels ‘Very Good’ About ‘How To Succeed’ Premiere

‘Coming in and doing a two-and-a-half-hour show every evening will seem like a holiday after the last couple months,’ he tells MTV News. By Eric Ditzian, with reporting by Josh Horowitz Daniel Radcliffe Photo: MTV News “How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying” star Daniel Radcliffe will perform the same routine eight times a week on Broadway for the rest of the year and into 2012, but the actor will happily take that relative monotony instead of the exhaustive rehearsals he’s endured for the last several months. “It feels very good to have opened — it really does,” he told MTV News following the musical’s premiere Sunday. “We’ve had a long-ish preview period — I can’t say long anymore because of ‘Spider-Man’ — but it feels great to be here and know the show is set now and we don’t have to rehearse during the day and we get to chill out. Honestly, coming in and doing a two-and-a-half-hour show every evening will seem like a holiday after the last couple months.” The work has clearly paid off, as reviews for his performance have been largely positive. “Daniel Radcliffe is so adorable in his Broadway musical debut, you just want to pinch his cheeks,” wrote the New York Post. “It’s not just his youth — the ‘Harry Potter’ star is 21 — but the endearing amount of dedication and enthusiasm he pours into steering the [play].” That’s got to feel good for a guy who’s gone on record that he has no particular talent for singing and dancing . But Radcliffe put in the work, and now he’s looking forward to a bit more time to himself. Not that he’s got ambitious plans for his downtime. When MTV News asked if he’ll have a chance to enjoy New York City, he said, “I will be able to now because the day-to-day rehearsal will have stopped. I’m just kind of relaxing and reading and chilling out. You know this; I don’t do anything interesting!” Will you check out Radcliffe on Broadway? Let us know in the comments! Lil Wayne, Paris Hilton Bond Over Jail Time In Interview

The rapper and the heiress also discuss astrology, animals and, of course, music in the April issue of the magazine. By James Montgomery Lil Wayne Photo: Alexander Tamargo/Getty Images In the April issue of Interview magazine , Lil Wayne and Paris Hilton bond over their love of animals, music and Miami hotspots … and, of course, their time behind bars, too. In a cross-country phone call — Wayne was at home in Miami while Hilton was taking a break from shooting a reality series in Los Angeles — the pair discussed a variety of topics (Googling themselves, the paparazzi, astrology, etc.,), but really broke the ice when the conversation turned to their respective jail sentences. Wayne did eight months at New York’s Rikers Island after a gun-possession arrest, while Hilton famously served 23 days in 2007 following a parole violation. “For me, it was OK, because it just meant that I was alone in my thoughts,” Wayne said when asked about the portion of his sentence he served in solitary confinement, after being caught with an MP3 player. “There were times when it was pretty tough to be by yourself, and to have no television, no nothing. That was kind of tough.” “I had to do 24 nights in solitary,” Hilton added [during her sentence, she was held in a separate cell as a safety precaution]. “Oh, so you know how it is?” Wayne responded. “Yeah, I know how it is,” Hilton said. The discussion then turned to being released from prison — an experience Wayne said “words cannot explain,” and one Hilton called “the best feeling in the world” — and how that newfound freedom affects the individual. “You’re definitely more in tune to what you’re doing. You’re definitely more humble,” Wayne explained. “I think that most people who come out of that situation just want to make the most of life afterwards. Honestly, it was just one big humbling experience.” And in keeping with that life-affirming sentiment — following some in-depth talk about travel and zodiac signs and Weezy’s pet sharks — both Wayne and Hilton discussed what’s next for them: Hilton said she’d “really love” to finish her long-in-the-works second album, while Wayne … well, he has more tangible goals. “I want to bank a cool $50 million at least,” he said. “At the end of the year, I want to be able to say that I banked $50 million. Not generated $50 million, but actually banked $50 million.” Related Photos Lil Wayne Heads To Rikers Island Moments In Paris Hilton’s Legal Life Related Artists Lil Wayne Paris Hilton

‘Black Swan’ Body Double Sarah Lane Stirs Controversy

Lane says there’s been a ‘cover-up’ to promote idea that Natalie Portman did most of the dancing. By Eric Ditzian Natalie Portman in “Black Swan” Photo: FOX Searchlight “It was really extreme,” Natalie Portman told MTV News in November. “And I definitely felt both physical and mental aftershocks from the experience, because it was the first thing I’ve ever done that was this physically demanding on top of an emotionally demanding part.” She was speaking about the 10 months she spent training to play a ballerina in “Black Swan,” a role that would earn her a Best Actress Oscar in February. Now that awards season is over, however, a controversy has erupted over how much of the dancing in “Black Swan” was executed by Portman and how much was the work of her professional ballet-dancing body doubles. Sarah Lane, a 27-year-old soloist at the American Ballet Theatre who stood in for Portman in the film, told Entertainment Weekly that she has been the victim of a “cover-up” meant to tout Portman’s work at the expense of her own. “Of the full body shots, I would say 5 percent are Natalie. All the other shots are me,” she said. “They wanted to create this idea in people’s minds that Natalie was some kind of prodigy or so gifted in dance and really worked so hard to make herself a ballerina in a year and a half for the movie, basically because of the Oscar. It is demeaning to the profession and not just to me. I’ve been doing this for 22 years.” Following Lane’s comments, Fox Searchlight released a statement that was both supportive of the dancer but emphasized the amount of Portman’s own ballet that made it into the movie. “We were fortunate to have Sarah there to cover the more complicated dance sequences and we have nothing but praise for the hard work she did,” the statement read. “However, Natalie herself did most of the dancing featured in the final film.” The debate caught fire last week after Benjamin Millepied, Portman’s fianc

Tyrese Talks Twitter, New Movies, Book And Album On The Cover Of JET Magazine

See original here:

Singer, actor and now author, Tyrese Gibson, caught up with the editors of JET magazine recently where he discussed topics like his upcoming roles in Fast Five (apart of the Fast and the Furious series) and another Transformers movie which are both scheduled to hit theaters this summer. Tyrese also spoke about his new album which is set to his stores this year and even his first book, “How to Get Out of Your Own Way”, which is set to hit bookstores this April. Looks like Tyrese has been pretty busy lately! The 32-year old also had time to do a full length interview and although all of the Q&A session did not make the magazine, we’ve got the scoop on the interview outtakes below. When Asked why he tweets about God so much : “It’s overwhelming. I’ve actually had people to say, ‘Man this dude talk about God so much, I’m-a unfollow.’ He don’t supposed to follow me. If you don’t want me talking about God, this is my Twitter page, it’s my timeline, I can shout out the man, I can shout out my source as much as I want to. Period. And at the end of the day, I feel like so many people are inspired and motivated by my story and my career and whatever else, I’m giving people an understanding that I didn’t make it this far in my life on talent alone. I’m a thinking man. I’m a God-fearing man. I recognize that God has blessed me and ordered my footsteps, but I’m also saying to everybody, “I’m doing the work.” Like, ain’t nobody given me nothing. Period. And so, I look at Twitter as me saying Thank you to all of my fans.” When asked why he doesn’t edit himself on Twitter: “It’s not something that I purposely do. It’s not coming from a space of rebellion. I just really want people to know some of the things I know. I’ve had people say, ‘I was a big fan of yours, but me loving you just went to a whole other level because of the things that you write and the things that you speak.’ And so, unfortunately this is a town and Hollywood in particular, where people can fall in love with who you appear to be, the surface, right? But then when they get off camera, there’s somebody completely the opposite.” When asked how he stays hungry: “I live my life by these words: ‘You can’t get points today for yesterday’s game.’ You won MVP last week, OK, get over it. It’s like, there’s another level to this thing and people like Will Smith and Denzel and Rev Run and … and like I got a few billion-dollar friends and multi-billion friends … these people have really messed up from showing me this life and lifestyle because I know that there’s a-whole-nother level of playing field out there that I can get to. Now, people get complacent – and I know if you leave this in there, it’s just gonna shake people up – people stop being inspired when they have more than all of their friends. If you do that, then you lose your motivation, because you the highest dude on your playing field. Gotta love that Tyrese.. and his tweets.. Read the rest over at JET. Playboy Playmate Ashley Mattingly Proud of Being a Whore of the Day

It’s always nice to see a whore proud of her work that is hardly work cuz she gets paid to get naked, something most of us to for free and in some cases get paid to not do cuz they look offensive as fuck naked… I love that certain whores think being Playmate of the year is some major accomplishment, when Playboy is nothing but a garbage irrelevant magazine that has consistently selected the trailer trash to be their Playmates, when the magazine was actually built on some level of substance, with pussy that was just hot girls willing to get naked on hippie shit, while now it’s all these hardened stripper looking garbage and the whole thing bores me…getting naked for money isn’t an accomplishment…even if it is fun to look at sometimes…even if they all look the fucking same FOLLOW ME
