Former Elmo puppeteer Kevin Clash is still receiving major accolades for his work on “Sesame Street” despite facing a string of accusations from young men who say he took advantage of them sexually. Via Fox News reports : Kevin Clash, the Elmo puppeteer who resigned amid allegations that he sexually abused underage boys, won three Daytime Emmy Awards for his work on “Sesame Street.” Clash won as outstanding performer in a children’s series at the creative arts ceremony held Friday night. He shared trophies for outstanding pre-school children’s series and directing in a children’s series, giving Clash 26 Daytime Emmys for his work on the venerable PBS show. He played Elmo for 28 years before quitting last November. Clash’s lawyer has said that related lawsuits filed against the entertainer are without merit. The main Daytime Emmys ceremony is Sunday in Beverly Hills. Congrats Kevin! You might not have a job but at least you get to go out on top! WENN
A French artist is suing Lady Gaga for plagiarism. Orlan, who’s been active in the French art scene for decades, claims Gaga basically aped her style, and has a list of reasons why this is the case. Notably, Gaga, like Orlan, takes a stage name, and employs visual and conceptual references to Catholic imagery, the human body, and celebrity. That sounds broad, and without a doubt it is. Yet there’s an entire Tumblr dedicated to the similarities between the two, Gagaorlan, and in a 1993 Art in America feature, Orlan is described as such: “Orlan has trafficked in notions of an ambiguous and constantly shifting identity.” “Her actions call into question whether our self-representations conform to an inner reality or whether they are actually carefully contrived falsehoods fabricated for marketing purposes, in the media or in society at large.” “Orlan leaves her background deliberately fuzzy, the better to maintain the anonymity required to project an enigmatic ‘star quality.'” Does sort of ring a bell, doesn’t it? From the Lady Gaga hermaphrodite controversy to Orlan’s elective plastic surgery as “performance art,” one can’t deny there are parallels between them. Lady Gaga – Born This Way (Full Video) From a legal standpoint, Orlan is reportedly focusing on one rather specific image from Lady Gaga’s “Born This Way” music video to make her case. The lawsuit mentions an image of Gaga’s severed head in the intro and its resemblance to a 90’s Orlan sculpture, “Femme Avec Tête” (“Woman With Head”). The lawsuit also cites another work of Orlan’s, “Bumpload.” Does she have a case? Clearly there’s a difference here between creating an homage to an iconic work of art and ripping off someone’s work. However, that is oftentimes a very thin line. Orlan seems to think that Gaga’s apparent, repeated references to her work are the latter, and wants 7.5 percent of the profits from her Born This Way album. For her part, Gaga actually talked about Orlan back in 2011, as part of an interview with NME , and basically she said she hadn’t heard of her: “Who’s Orlan?” Gaga asked, grabbing her MacBook as she was asked if that was an influence on her. “Do people think that’s where I got it from?” Upon Googling her, the pop superstar exclaimed, “Oh my gosh. (Gasps) What is that? It’s quite beautiful. That’s weird! (Thinks) It’s very fabulous.” “Well, I’m going to be inspired by her now, thank you!”
Kanye hates everything, but himself. Kanye has got to be one of the most narcissistic celebrities ever. Everybody bugs you? Maybe your just an azzhole that needs an attitude adjustment. Truth be told ever since his momma died, his music has gone downhill. Kanye West Slams Paparazzi And Youtube According to The Daily Beast “[I hate YouTube because] the player is so ugly, and it’s presented in such a terrible manner. I want everything I do to be presented in an art context, as this is a form of sonic art. I was an artist originally, I have been in art school since I was five-years-old. I got scholarships to three art schools, Art Institute of Chicago, Saint Xavier, and the American Academy of Art, where I ended up going–and I dropped out because I had an assignment where I was supposed to do an ink painting or something, and I would take two weeks to do it, and when I looked at my work, I just felt that I would never be one of the great visual artists of the world.” ( I just felt like I would end up like–and this is no knock to anybody that does this–but I felt like I would end up working at an ad agency or something like that. I wanted to make something of impact. I found that when I would drop samples, my friends would react to it more. I felt that I had a real talent in chopping and appropriating music.” He also offered an interesting take on the state of popular culture and art. “Right now it’s a fight against the separation and constant dumbing down of culture, and I’m standing in the middle of it. So if you know what people say are my lowest moments, those moments where I sat and saw them try to dumb down culture, and I would not allow it to happen on my clock. So when I used to go to fashion shows with my boys and we’d be eight deep, it was almost like a civil rights, like a sit-in. They wouldn’t even let us in. They had no idea what rap would mean to this world, what rap would mean to the art world. Before the Kendrick Lamars and the A$AP Rockys, it was Kanye West in a hotel room at the Le Maurice getting a ‘no, no, no, no’ to every single fashion show. But I thought it was so important to get close to the artists who worked so hard on making a usable form of art–like this furniture right here, like everything that is in all these rooms that inspire us so much–and I fight in my position of being a very commercial celebrity boyfriend, I fight to push culture forward every chance I get. And I only frown because paparazzi ask me dumb*** s**t all the time, and I think about changing the world, and I think about what I can do to make things better. And, without further ado, I want to play you guys my new album. It’s called Yeezus.” Kanye needs to focus on the birth of his child and chill out. It’s not that serious homie. Yay for the little guy . Interns Win Lawsuit Against 20th Century Fox According to Raw Story Two interns who completed unpaid work on the Oscar-winning film Black Swan have won a landmark case against the studio behind the movie, 20th Century Fox. Alexander Footman and Eric Glatt had complained they were made to undertake menial work with little or no educational value that ought to have been carried out by paid employees. US law makes it clear that unpaid interns must gain educational benefit from their work experience and cannot be used to replace regular paid workers. Federal judge William Pauley ruled yesterday that Footman and Glatt were in fact “employees” of studio offshoot Fox Searchlight, which oversaw production of Black Swan, meaning they were entitled to legal protection under minimum wage and overtime laws. The judge also dismissed suggestions by Fox that the interns were working for Darren Aronofsky’s production company, rather than directly for the studio. Finally, Judge Pauley confirmed he would certify a class action that will explore internships throughout the corporate departments at Fox. “Considering the totality of the circumstances, Glatt and Footman were classified improperly as unpaid interns and are ‘employees’ covered by the FLSA and NYLL,” said the judge, according to the Hollywood Reporter. “They worked as paid employees work, providing an immediate advantage to their employer and performed low-level tasks not requiring specialised training. The benefits they may have received – such as the knowledge of how a production or accounting office functions or references for future jobs – are the results of simply having worked as any other employee works, not of internships designed to be uniquely educational to the interns and of little utility to the employer. “They received nothing approximating the education they would receive in an academic setting or vocational school. This is a far cry from [the supreme court’s decision in] Walling, where trainees impeded the regular business of the employer, worked only in their own interest and provided no advantage to the employer. Glatt and Footman do not fall within the narrow ‘trainee’ exception to the FLSA’s broad coverage.” However, another intern who worked on the Fox film 500 Days of Summer was stymied in her attempts to sue. Judge Pauley accepted the studio’s assertion that Kanene Gratts’ claims were time-barred. Fox said it would fight to overturn the ruling. “We are very disappointed with the court’s rulings,” the studio said in a statement. “We believe they are erroneous, and will seek to have them reversed by the second circuit as quickly as possible.” The studio had previously said it changed its guidelines in July 2010 to ensure that all interns are paid at least $8 an hour. Black Swan earned more than $300m (£191m) at the global box office and won the best actress Oscar for its star Natalie Portman in 2011. For anyone who has ever had a crappy unpaid internship, this is a victory.
Victoria’s Secret blow my mind. I mean the level of creativity and inspiration that goes into their shoot just keeps pushing the fucking boundaries. It’s like every month the catalog drops and ask myself “HOW WILL THEY OUTDO THEMSELVES THIS TIME ….and some how they always do…but producing the exact same picture, pose and format, for decades, making amazing girls like Candice Swanepoel and Behati boring as fuck.
Here are some pics of Miley in some tight white pants, looking amazing, probably because she’s showing her fit little body, while hiding her hick inbred face, and as you probably know I am a fan of her work, even though she’s Miley Cyrus. I like to think of myself the way the hip hop acts working with her think of her, and that’s as a bag of money that could buy them expensive things, cuz she doesn’t know better and they can unload all their unwanted garbage beats on her, get mainstream press as she reinvents herself. Only unlike those hip hop acts, I’m only into unloading my seed in her, but unfortunately, I don’t have her groupie-ing up on me like she is with their black cocks, making the whole K-Fed-Ing very difficult….especially when she’s in not-so-period-friendly pants… TO SEE THE REST OF THE PICS FOLLOW THIS LINK

WTF is wrong with people? Mother’s Day was marred for crowds in New Orleans this weekend after a parade for the occasion was shattered by gun violence . Via NOLA.com reports : A Mother’s Day second-line shooting on Frenchmen Street in the 7th Ward, on Sunday about 1:45 p.m., left 19 people injured, according to the latest NOPD numbers. Earlier Sunday afternoon, NOPD Superintendent Ronal Serpas said that about 12 people had been injured, but the toll later grew to 19, with the NOPD explaining that some victims initially hadn’t reported being injured and more people continue to come forward. Police said 10 adult men, seven adult women, a 10-year-old boy and a 10-year-old girl were struck by bullets. Both of the 10-year-old victims had graze wounds to the body and were in good condition. A man and a woman were reported to be in surgery Sunday evening. The shooting occurred in the 1400 block of Frenchmen Street at the intersection of North Villere Street. Immediately after the shooting police reported seeing three suspects running from the scene. One suspect was seen running on Frenchman toward North Claiborne, police said. NOPD spokeswoman Remi Braden said many of the victims were grazed, some by bullets that ricocheted. “At this point, there are no fatalities, and most of the wounds are not life-threatening,” she said in an email. “But all medical conditions are not known at this time as victims were rushed to nearby hospitals,” Braden continued. “Detectives are conducting interviews, retrieving any surveillance video in the area and, of course, collecting all evidence. This is an extremely unusual occurrence, and we’re confident that we will make swift arrests.” In a separate report an FBI spokeswoman made sure to be clear this incident was not the work of terrorists: Mary Beth Romig, a spokeswoman for the FBI in New Orleans, said federal investigators have no indication that the shooting was an act of terrorism. ‘‘It’s strictly an act of street violence in New Orleans,’’ she said. What the hell is going on? We can’t even have a peaceful Mother’s Day second line? We gotta do better people. Lauren McGaughy/Michael DeMocker/NOLA.com/Times-Picayune

It’s the perennial talk of the political world, but Bill Clinton is less than decisive about the prospect of his wife, Hillary Clinton, running for president in 2016. “She hasn’t mentioned it to me,” Clinton said of the Hillary 2016 buzz when asked at the Peter G. Peterson Foundation’s 2013 Fiscal Summit in D.C. “I don’t know what’s going to happen, but I know this: that is the worst expenditure of our time,” he said, adding that it’s “frustrating” to be talking politics. “She’s taking a role in the foundation, she’s writing books, she’s having a little fun being a private citizen for the first time in 20 years,” Clinton said. “We need to be worried about the work at hand right now. All of us do.” “That way, whoever the next president is has an easier set of choices.” Good point, but still … since we’re on the topic: Hillary in 2016? Gosh yes! Please run, Hill! We’ll see who else runs. Gosh, no! UGH. View Poll »
