Ronald Poppo, 65, has been identified as the victim of “Miami Zombie” Rudy Eugene, with a new video detailing the gruesomeness of the attack. Eugene, 31, was shot and killed by police after passersby saw him eating Poppo’s face in a story that has triggered talk of a zombie apocalypse . Poppo, who reports say was homeless for nearly four decades before the grisly incident, is in serious condition, having somehow survived it. Be forewarned: The video below is uncensored and graphic. Rudy Eugene Attack on Ronald Poppo The video depicts Rudy Eugene , who was naked, straddling, punching, and ripping off Poppo’s clothing in the completely unprovoked assault. Poppo, who was was sleeping on the causeway where this took place, was in the wrong place at the wrong time, and had his face eaten off. Perhaps most astonishingly, a number of people drive by, including one who slows down and CLEARLY notices at the 8:20 mark, yet do nothing. Finally, a bicyclist sees and alerts police around 16:30. Within two minutes of that, Eugene was shot dead and Poppo’s life was saved. When officers yelled at Eugene to stop and he merely ignored their cries and continued feasting, they shot him dead in a hail of bullets. Also nicknamed the Miami cannibal , Eugene’s horrific behavior is said to have been caused by psychosis resulting bath salts, either ingested or injected.

Cavanagh, the 18-year-old from McKinney, Texas, received the lowest number of votes from the nearly 70 million votes cast, according to host Ryan Seacrest. Cavanagh received harsh marks for her performance of Bonnie Raitt’s “I Can’t Make You Love Me” on Wednesday’s performance episode; Randy Jackson called it “the wrong choice at the wrong time.” Cavanagh just missed a trip back to Texas as part of the top three “Hometown Heroes” visits, which happen on next week’s show. The Liverpudlian kept it together while singing Miley Cyrus’ “The Climb” at the close of the show, though her close friend Joshua Ledet was shown tearing up nearby onstage. Mentor Jimmy Iovine had all but written off Cavanagh after “I Can’t Make You Love Me.” “I assumed she understood the core of the song. Evidently, she did not,” Iovine said in his weekly roundup of the week’s performances. “She did not have the personal experience or the professional experience to take on this song. When the chorus came in, she hit the opera button. And at that moment, I felt she crashed and burned and lost out to those other three singers.” He had high praise for the others. He said Phillip Phillips “finally delivered on the promise that we’ve been looking for all year” with his version of Damien Rice’s “Volcano”; Jessica Sanchez “murdered” her performance of the “Dreamgirls” hit “And I Am Telling You I’m Not Going, “referring to it as “shock and awe”; and Ledet “created a piece of magic that is very rarely seen on the “American Idol” stage” with his take on James Brown’s “It’s a Man’s Man’s Man’s World.” “I’ve seen Prince, I’ve seen Bruce Springsteen do that, but I’ve never seen that on ‘American Idol,’ ” Iovine said. “It was so, so captivating. I want to see it again and again and again.” Iovine added that he thinks the competition is up for grabs. “Last year, I knew Scotty was gonna win the whole thing. This year, I haven’t got a clue who’s going to get into the final,” he said. “Any one of them, with the right song and the right note, can steal the show. It’s up to them and, eventually, America’s vote.” When the results were read, Sanchez was the first one told she made the top three, followed by Ledet. We’re pretty certain there were other ways this fool could have gone home to prison. Fueled by dangerous paranoia following his release from prison, Damel Burton, 34, carried out a psychotic 15-minute spree that left two people dead and sent terrified passengers stampeding off a Q111 bus, police sources said. The madman told cops he believed the commuters were plotting against him. “People on the bus were on the phone and he thought they were talking about him,” a police source said. Burton began his horrific spree by fatally shooting Keith Murrell, 18, in the chest in the apartment they shared with Murrell’s mother on Foch Blvd. in Jamaica, police sources said. The gunman, who had grown increasingly unhinged following a seven-year prison stint for armed robbery, then boarded the bus and randomly shot innocent commuter Marvin Gikes, 36, in the back of the head, police sources said. He collapsed on the bus’ rear steps and died. Next, the gunman blasted commuter Jojuan Lipsey, 29, in the face as screaming passengers ran for their lives, sources said. Lipsey, a state-employed counselor for developmentally disabled patients, was heading home from work to see his wife and kids when a bullet tore through his mouth. “He was just in the wrong place at the wrong time,” said his mother-in-law, Catherine Baynes. “You don’t expect anything like that to come so close to home.” Lipsey underwent surgery at Jamaica Hospital and is expected to survive. The bus bloodbath came shortly after Burton and Murrell got into a confrontation in their second-floor apartment, their friends said. After Burton blasted him in his chest, the dying teen stumbled into his room and locked the door to get away from the crazed killer. Murrell managed to leap out the window and run to a nearby Royal Fried Chicken store to get help. He collapsed outside the chicken joint and later died at Jamaica Hospital. “He was running over here and he fell to the corner,” shaken store clerk Ali Nasery, 27, recalled. Burton raced out of the apartment after his first killing, but police sources said he dropped a damaging clue — an identification card, which police found along with several 9-mm. bullets. Fewer than 15 minutes later he boarded the bus, opening fire as it rumbled near the intersection of Archer Ave. and Parsons Blvd. Chaos erupted as the gunfire sent about 50 panicked passengers rushing for the front of the bus and screaming for the driver to open the doors, the rattled driver told the Daily News. “They just wanted to get out,” the 57-year-old driver said. “It was panic, crazy. I couldn’t believe it. “It sounded like the Fourth of July,” he added. He said passengers were screaming, “Let me out, let me out,” as they ran for cover. After unleashing the insanity, the suspect ran off the bus, but only made it a block away before police captured him. He was still carrying a semi-automatic 9-mm. Ruger pistol, the sources said.
