Source: Joe Raedle / Getty Queens Mother Dies Of Mysterious Illness In Dominican Republic We don’t know WTF is going on, but we’re damn sure not going to the Dominican Republic anytime soon. According to NYPost , a Queens mother for four, 38-year-old Donette Edge Cannon, has died only hours after being exposed to a mysterious stomach illness during her vacation to the Dominican Republic back in May 14, 2018. Donette was on the island with her family who all reported having minor stomach issues during the trip, but none as bad as what she suffered says her sister Cannon Edge Johnson: “For us, throughout the trip, we kept using the bathroom,” Johnson said. “We went to a restaurant in the same condition, anytime we ate we were using the bathroom.” After a night of dancing and partying, Donette woke up in the middle of the night with diarrhea and vomiting that progressively got worse. “My cousin said, ‘It’s getting worse. I’m going to have the medics come and check her out,’” Johnson said. “Once they got to the room, she fell unconscious and they took her to the hospital.” Donette was diabetic and was undergoing dialysis prior to the trip, but she was taken to the hospital without her meds. The hospital told her relatives it was too late to take her elsewhere. “They basically let her die on the table,” her sister said. Donette’s official cause of death was ruled kidney failure, however… “Their conclusion was renal failure, but it never addressed what initially got her sick in the first place,” Johnson told The Post. When asked about the numerous new incidents of tourists dying Johnson says: “I think now that looking at the other incidents that it definitely [is] something deeper and sheds on their health care practices,” Johnson told The Post. “It’s not like the United States.” She said she “would never return” to the country and wants to warn others to be “very cautious.” We don’t blame her. There are literally dozens of other beaches and exotic locales to visit. Rest in peace Donette Cannon.

Source: Star Tribune via Getty Images / Getty Police Officer Fired For Not Being Able To Locate Kidnapped Girl A police officer in Texas has been fired from his job after he searched the hotel room where a kidnapped 8-year-old girl was being held captive and somehow didn’t find her. Officer Richardson Wolfe was placed on indefinite suspension — which is the civil service equivalent of termination — for mishandling the case of the young girl, who was later brought to safety. Forest Hills Police Chief Dan Dennis confirmed that Wolfe was released from the department on Wednesday, according to reports from NBC 5 . It all happened when Wolfe responded to an emergency call at a hotel just after midnight on May 19. An hour before the call, an Amber Alert had been sent out for the kidnapping of the young girl, who was snatched by a man later identified as Michael Webb. According to police, Webb dragged the child into his car and threw her mother out of the vehicle when she jumped in to try to fight him off. Someone at WoodSprings Suites recognized Webb from the Amber Alert and notified a desk clerk, who then called the police. When Wolfe arrived at the scene, he allegedly knocked on Webb’s hotel room door first, and was eventually let inside. “Upon entry into the room, the officers made visual inspection of the areas of the room that appeared to be large enough to conceal the missing child,” the police said in a press release. “They did not locate any other occupants inside the room. With no one located and no other information available, the officers cleared the scene.” Two hours later, Forest Hill police received another tip and at about 2am, more officers returned to the kidnapper’s hotel room. About six minutes later, Fort Worth police officers arrived too, and police confirmed that the child was located with Michael Webb a short time later. The tip that led to the rescue of the little girl came in from Jeff King, a local pastor who was friends with the girl’s parents. King had asked a detective if there was anything he could do to help find the missing girl, and the detective told him to check parks, hotels and apartments. “We had been checking parks all night and [WoodSprings Suites] was the second hotel we checked,” King said in a press conference. “I feel like God allowed me to be a tool.” Webb was charged with aggravated kidnapping and six counts of sexual assault of a child. He was expected to plead guilty but changed his mind at the eleventh hour and will now cop his plea on June 26, according to CBS 11 . He is facing 20 years to life in prison. Forest Hills Police are expected to release further details about the case as soon as they can.

It looks like things still haven’t improved much since Bethenny lashed out at Luann . This week, the Skinnygirl founder went on Watch What Happens Live , and the former Countess’ ongoing sobriety battle definitely came up. Luann watched … and was so furious that she took to Twitter to share her outrage in a series of blistering tweets. Speaking with Andy Cohen on Watch What Happens Live , Bethenny Frankel spoke about Luann de Lesseps’ battle for sobriety. “I went all in,” Bethenny says of her erstwhile role in Luann’s health strugle. “I got her rehab paid for.” Which made what went down between the two of them in Miami so shocking for her. “So,” Bethenny explained. “I just felt like, ‘What the hell are you doing? Like, who are you? How are you so not self-aware?’” “Even right after that moment,” Bethenny recalled. “She was like, ‘Well I’ve been going through a lot.’” “I don’t want to be like, ‘I’ve been going through a lot, but I’ve been through a little bit this year.’” Bethenny played a major role in Luann’s intervention in the summer of 2018, after her brief but serious relapse. But when Luann started drinking again in May of this year, Bethenny says that she was not in the loop. On Watch What Happens Live , she told Andy Cohen that she doesn’t know “what’s going on.” “I think she’s doing the best that she can. …” Bethenny speculated. “She’s shooting videos and doing her cabaret,” she added. “So she seems fine.” Seems fine … but she doesn’t actually know. “I’m out, you know what I mean?” Bethenny shared. That said, it’s not like she no longer cares. She adds: “But I would do it again if something really bad happened.” “I like the distance from the situation,” Bethenny explains. Luann saw that interview … and was positively fuming on social media. “I don’t owe Bethenny Frankel my life,” Luann tweeted furiously. The former countess added that “friends are there help each other out.: In case there was any doubt, Luann then added the hashtag: “#WWHL” That’s not a subtweet — because Bethenny’s name is right there in plain letters. See for yourself: Luann had even more to say after this callout. “Friends don’t keep tabs,” Luann expressed in a subsequent tweet, also including the tag “#WWHL.” She was clearly peeved with what she interpreted as Bethenny’s feeling that she owed her a debt. “You don’t help someone and throw it in their face,” Luann tweeted. This time, she used the tag: “#RHONY.” She wanted to reach a wide audience with her words. Bethenny Frankel certainly had a hard time over the past year or so. Remember, she lost her on-again, off-again boyfriend, Dennis Shields. While that was certainly what drove her blow-up at Luann and the meltdown that followed on the show, that’s not the only factor. Bethenny is also fighting a painful, intense custody battle with her awful ex-husband, Jason Hoppy. She has a lot of stress on her. We don’t think that she feels that Luann owes her a debt for helping her. But she clearly wishes that Luann were a little more aware of other people.
