Okay, so after years of hype, winter never really came to Westeros — but did it show up at a Malibu plastic surgeon’s office instead? Yes, that’s our extremely lame way of introducing the latest round of Ariel Winter plastic surgery accusations. Interest in Ariel’s sitcom may be dwindling as Modern Family wraps up its 47th season, but on social media, the actress’ influence continues to grow. Unfortunately, accumulating 4 million Instagram followers means being subject to a LOT of scrutiny, and because social media in 2019 is basically an open manhole, all that attention is gonna result in a whole lot of hateful comments. Sadly, Ariel is no stranger to body shaming, but fortunately, she typically wards off the trolls with surprising skill. But this latest round of trash talk is surprisingly specific, and bullies who really put a lot of thought into their idiocy are often the most dangerous kind. Ariel looks different in some of her recent pics, but that’s only because of her Little Mermaid-hued locks. (That name-appropriate comparison is hers, not ours. She captioned the above pic, “part of yourrrrrr worrrrrld”) But some extremely-online jackass who fancies himself a celebrity sleuth believes there’s more to the story. And thus, in what he probably considered some consummate act of d-bag bravery he “called out” Ariel and accused her of undergoing cosmetic surgery. “How many surgeries have you had on your body and face now?” sayeth the basement-dwelling goblin. When other followers pointed out that Ariel has spoken openly about her breast reductions and does not appear to have had any other work done, the troll presented his case in full: “Two breast reductions, that’s obvious, cheek bone and chin shaving and lip fillers. Pretty obvious, she looks so different #Truth,” he replied. Wow. He used the #Truth hashtag, so it has to be true, right? Yeah, not so much. Ariel was quick to clap back and point out that nothing dude said has any basis in fact. “I wasn’t going to reply but I HAVE to ask…what the f–k is cheek bone and chin shaving????” Winter remarked, adding: “You’re also wrong about all of it by the way. One breast reduction & I lost weight but you do you boo.” That’s how you do it folks: Keep your sense of humor intact, set the record straight, and move on. Sure, there are times when it’s best to simply not acknowledge the haters at all. But to paraphrase Dr. Hunter S. Thompson, sometimes it’s important to not take any guff from these swine. Source: Prince Williams / Getty Young Thug Targeted In Miami Drive-By Shooting Just a couple of days after Offset was reportedly targeted in a drive-by shooting in Atlanta, another ATL emcee is the target of an attack. According to reports, Young Thug ‘s car and two buses party buses driving his team were hit in a drive-by shooting in Miami on Friday morning. Although Thugga was not hit, three people from his team were injured — however, the rapper was present on the scene when rounds were fired. TMZ reports: “Thug was riding in a Ferrari alongside the 2 buses on I-95 around 6 AM when someone pulled up next to them and opened fire. Law enforcement sources say 2 men and a woman who were on the buses were taken to hospitals with non-life threatening injuries.” Sources say that the rapper and his crew were headed to the Miami Beach Hotel at the time of the shooting. Police are still investing the incident. Prayers up.

Prosecutor Chris Darden Withdraws From Nipsey Murder Case Chris Darden is set to appear in court today alongside the man accused of killing Nipsey Hussle for the first and only time; He is withdrawing from the case partly because of the threats he’s received for the defending Eric Holder. Darden announced his decision on his Facebook page, writing, “After centuries of a history of black men hung from trees without trial, or after the thousands of cases of black men tried, convicted and executed without counsel … I cannot understand why in 2019 some people would deny a black man his 6th Amendment right to counsel of his choice. Or why defending such a man should invite threats not only against me but against my children too.” He continued, saying, “The right to counsel is … not only a constitutional right, it is a civil right as well. Just as they were in 1995-Cowards never change. These days these cowards don’t send letters instead they sit anonymously behind keyboards threatening a man’s mother and children. And some folks think that’s funny. It isn’t and I won’t ever forget it.” Darden continued on to address his critics directly, saying, “To those who issued those threats to my children please pay close attention so there is no misunderstanding. Later. F**K YOU!” He ended his statement by saying, “As for me, I continue to thrive. I continue to be loved. I continue to walk with kings. And I will continue my pursuit of fairness and justice on behalf of my clients and others charged with crimes. After 25 years some of them still haven’t learned : Their lies and threats will never deter me from my mission. Thank you again my good friends. The struggle continues. Thank you.” Chris Darden had been on the receiving end of numerous threats since his decision to represent the man suspected of killing rapper Nipsey Hussle became public. His daughter, Jenee, went on social media after her father intially took the case, also saying that she was “receiving vile comments and messages.” “Like many of you, I found out about my father’s involvement in the case while scrolling through social media. According to a tweet sent out by the collective: “80% of women in jail are mothers. We are people who have been impacted by cages — either by being in them ourselves or witnessing our families and loved ones be encaged. We are queer, trans, young, elder, and immigrant.” Ending cash bail has become a rising issue in the larger effort to end mass incarceration. According to the Prison Policy Initiative , more than 500,000 people who haven’t been convicted of a crime are detained before their trial. Many are detained in local jails because they can’t pay the bail amounts. The median bail amount for a felony is $10,000 which is about eight months of income for a typical person detained because they can’t afford bail. According to recent studies , Black and Latinx folks are more likely than White people to be detained without bail, and in situations where bail is granted, it’s often set at a significantly higher rate for people of color. According to an NAACP fact sheet , Black women are also incarcerated at twice the rate of White women and a 2010 study showed that one in nine Black kids have an incarcerated parent, which could often lead to disruptive living situations for the kid or the missing of important childhood events.
