Kim Zolciak is exiting The Real Housewives of Atlanta . This Sunday will mark her final episode. About this, there is no debate. But Zolciak and long-running enemy NeNe Leakes disagree over just why Zolciak is departing the series, with Kim saying she’s exiting of her own volition and Leakes saying… well… “It’s so funny how this chick wants people 2 think she quit the show! The producers no longer wanted 2 work wit u! Good bye wit the lies.” Zolciak then Tweeted in response, referencing her own rumored new show: “I definitely was NOT fired from RHOA I can guarantee u that!!! My spinoff last year was a 1 time thing so this spinoff is brand new! Today is Cyber Monday. Or as those under 35 who shop online all the time anyway call it, Monday. The term Cyber Monday was coined in 2005 by a trade group that noticed online sales spiked the Monday following Thanksgiving, kicking off the holiday season. Silly as the term seems in 2012, the trend is no joke. It’s estimated that this year’s Cyber Monday will be the biggest online shopping day of the year, and in recorded retail history, for the third year in a row. In the next month alone, many businesses can make up to 40 percent of their annual revenue. How well retailers fare on Cyber Monday is also significant in that it offers insight into Americans’ evolving habits during the holiday shopping season . With the growth in high speed Internet access and the wide use of smartphones and tablets, people are more enabled to shop online now than ever before. That also means that the shopping could be less dependent on the use of work computers, so it will be interesting to see if today falls short of expectations. Even though Cyber Monday is expected to be the biggest shopping day, industry watchers say it’s just be a matter of time before other days take that ranking. “Of all the benchmark spending days, Thanksgiving itself is growing at the fastest rate, up 128 percent over the last five years,” said Andrew Lipsman of comScore. Still, according to research, Americans are expected to spend $1.5 billion, up 20 percent from last year, as retailers have ramped up Cyber Monday deals. Amazon, which is started its Cyber Monday deals at midnight, is offering as much as 60 percent off a Panasonic VIERA 55-inch TV (usually $1,000). Sears is offering $430 off a Maytag washer and dryer (now $399). And Kmart is offering 75 percent off all of its diamond earrings and $60 off a 12-in-1 multigame table. These are just a few of the many awesome Cyber Monday 2012 deals you could be cashing in on right now instead of reading about them on THG! Go to town!

Yesterday, People anointed Channing Tatum Sexiest Man Alive . Without a doubt, 2012 was Tatum’s year, with three successful movies in The Vow, Magic Mike , and 21 Jump Street . But People has its share of critics just the same. The main complaint? With a singular exception – Denzel Washington in 1996 – the magazine has picked a square-jawed white guy (usually an actor) EVERY year. In 2008, Hugh Jackman took the top honor. In 2009, Johnny Depp was selected for a second time. Last year, Bradley Cooper walked away with the crown. The year before that, it was Ryan Reynolds, perhaps in anticipation of his film Green Lantern . Should they rename it Sexiest Milquetoast White Man Alive? Asks the Daily Beast: Where are the Blair Underwoods, the Taye Diggses, the Morris Chestnuts? The Terrence Howards, the Jesse Williamses, the Idris Elbas? Inside. And if you believe People ’s official line, it is what’s inside that counts. A representative for the magazine wrote: “ People is sensitive to representing people of color in its pages; our Sexiest Man Alive issue is no exception. Every section in this year’s issue includes a diverse group of men.” Brett R. Johnson, associate editor of The Root, said, “That response is expected … They can’t come out and say black men don’t sell magazine covers.” Though there are some sports celebrities, most of the picks skew toward Hollywood, and actors rather than musicians. Perhaps that’s part of the issue. Jay-Z, Kanye West, Kobe Bryant, or Michael Jordan during their primes would’ve been fine cover stars, no? A rep for People explained of the criteria: “Is he hot at the moment? Is he sexy? Is his career on fire this year? Channing Tatum fits that criteria this year, which is why he was named 2012 Sexiest Man Alive.” The list, then, said Jezebel ‘s Jessica Coen, isn’t truthfully the “sexiest man in general, just – ‘handsome man who’s getting the most work right now,’ “And what makes that so strange is that People is not a trade mag.” “People’s response places the blame on Hollywood. That’s a copout. They have a lot of power as a media outlet, but their response is akin to throwing up their hands.” “Hollywood and the media – and that includes People – have a highly symbiotic relationship.” “Putting a man of color on the inside is like saying, ‘He’s hot, sure, but just not hot enough for the cover. Only a white man can be number one.’” “Which is kind of how the world has worked for the past couple centuries.” What do you think?
