Watch A Beautifully Vulgar Takedown Of Star Wars Episode 3: Revenge Of The Sith

Almost exactly a year to the day after unleashing his incendiary jeremiad against The Phantom Menace , the mumbly-voice critic Mr. Plinkett at Red Letter Media has released his third and final long-form critique of the Star Wars prequels. It’s a skilled evisceration that’s a must-see for anyone who had to suffer through any of George Lucas’ post-1996 output. Check out the videos after the jump!

Weekend Receipts: Fockers Narrowly Tops True Grit Again

Once again, a family of Fockers has pushed boozy lawman Rooster Cogburn to second place, as alleged “comedy” Little Fockers took the box office crown this weekend. Meanwhile, Jeff Bridges repped silver and bronze with True Grit and Tron: Legacy respectively. And no one go looking for Jack Black — his nearly universally-reviled Gulliver’s Travels plummeted to eighth place. Your weekend receipts are here.

Weekend Receipts: Merry Focking Christmas

Not even being a cinematic lump of coal could stop Little Fockers from topping the tepid Christmas weekend box office; the threequel was the film of choice for people trying to get away from their families. Meanwhile, Jeff Bridges owned the second and third slots on the charts, proving that he’s the new Johnny Depp. (If only!) Pour yourself that final glass of eggnog and click ahead for some weekend receipts.

Weekend Receipts: Tron: Legacy Logs In At Number One While Reese Witherspoon Takes One On The Chin

Tron: Legacy managed to avoid being de-rezzed its first weekend out, coming in safely at number one, while Yogi Bear came in at respectable number two. But pity poor Reese Witherspoon whose latest foray into Rom-Comdom bombed at number eight. Your weekend receipts are here.

Friday Box Office: Tron: Legacy Lights Up The Box Office At Number One

Tron: Legacy took the top spot at the box office this Friday, pulling in a cool $18 million from people wanting to see Olivia Wilde and Garrett Hedlund gad about in skintight scuba suits. Yogi Bear established itself as this holiday season’s annoying movie to take your annoying kids to, coming in at number two, while The Fighter opened wide at a respectable third place. But people stayed far, far away from Paul Rudd and Reese Witherspoon’s How Do You Know , which only brought in an anemic $2.9 million. Your Friday box office is here.

The Social Network, The King’s Speech Top Roger Ebert’s 10 Best List

Not to be outdone by the Golden Globes , SAG and pretty much every single critics group this side of San Diego , Roger Ebert has placed The Social Network and The King’s Speech atop his ten-best list for 2010. “All of the personalities and values in The King’s Speech are traditional The characters project considered ideas of themselves; The Social Network , in contrast, intimately lays its characters bare. From one man speaking at a distance through the radio, to another man shepherding hundreds of millions through a software program, the two films show technology shaping human nature.” Wonder if these two have what it takes to be Oscar nominees. Weekend Forecast: Dreck the Halls

So there’s good news and bad news to report this beautiful Friday morning. The bad news: Studios mostly hate you today. The good news: There are more than enough new-release alternatives to keep you occupied throughout the weekend — assuming, that is, that you aren’t previously committed to Christmas shopping and/or anything else that will keep you miles from the multiplex. Don’t overbook your days off just yet, though…
