Nicki Minaj "Doesn’t Approve" of Drake-Chris Brown Feud

Nicki Minaj recently commented on the feud between Chris Brown and Drake, her Young Money label-mate, by claiming that she “doesn’t approve” of the beef. The now-infamous Chris Brown-Drake fight that broke out last month at an NYC club left many injured and got the establishment shut down in the aftermath. All over Rihanna too, allegedly. Speaking to the BBC, Nicki weighed in: “I don’t approve of talented people doing things that aren’t conducive to an amazing career. I spoke to Drake, and I told him from the bottom of my heart how I felt.” “I’m like, ‘Baby, you are a superstar, and I need you to realize that.” Speaking to Tim Westwood on BBC Radio 1 Xtra, Minaj revealed that, although she thought Drake was innocent, he still needed to be careful of his reputation.” “He did nothing wrong, of course. Rumors are rumous, and that there’s what it is. Sometimes, you just need to go to bed. Go to the hotel and have an early nap.” “At the end of the day, there’s nothing wrong with that.” Words to live by, Drizzy. Words to live by. Whose side are you on in the feud? [Photos: WENN.com]

Hip-Hop Beef: Lil Wayne Wants Drake To Kiss And Make Up With Chris Brown ASAP So They Can Keep Makin’ That Young Money!

Losing money over some poon-tang? That’s that isht YMCMB don’t like Lil Wayne Wants Drake To End Beef With Chris Brown According to TMZ reports : Lil Wayne and the rest of the Young Money crew want Drake to put an end to his beef with Chris Brown … STAT — because the bad blood is bad for busine$$. It’s a sign that as bad ass as rap may be … the bottom line is the bottom line. Sources close to Drake tell TMZ, Drizzy has received several calls from Weezy, Birdman, Mack Maine and more — urging the rapper to extend an olive branch to Brown after last week’s nightclub brawl in NYC. Sources tell us, Wayne and co. are worried the rift will affect business — since Brown appears on several tracks with Young Money members and, pure and simple, Brown = hits. We’re told Drake doesn’t want to reach out to Breezy until he knows CB doesn’t actually blame him for last week’s melee — despite what Brown’s lawyer has been saying … that Drake was one of the aggressors. We’re told Young Money’s on Drake’s side no matter what — but as one source put it, “Making money matters most.” We can hear Wayne and Birdman now: “Aye, bay-bee, you gotta call that boy Breezy and make it cool ya ‘eard me?” Considering that Nicki Minaj features Chris on her popular single, “Right By My Side”, Cash Money definitely does not want to miss an opportunity to make it rain on some hoes over some “Bajan beef”. Chris Brown, Drake Crews In Brawl At NYC Club

NYPD confirm they were called to scene of a fight at W.I.P. but no arrests were made. By Rebecca Thomas Drake and Chris Brown Photo: Rappers stay schemin’. And if the reports are to be believed, R&B singers do too. After hitting up the Maybach Music Group listening party in the Bronx, Young Money rapper Drake headed to New York’s SoHo, where his camp reportedly got into an altercation with Chris Brown’s crew on Wednesday night. According to TMZ , the NYPD has confirmed that Drizzy and Breezy got into a fight at W.I.P. nightclub, where bottles were allegedly thrown. A photo posted to Brown’s Instagram showing the singer sporting a bloody gash on his chin quickly made the rounds on Thursday (June 14). But Breezy’s timeline had been sanitized entirely at press time. Drake and Brown have been the subject of rumors, particularly in recent months, as buzz built that the two were fighting over Rihanna. Brown’s long-term relationship with the Bajan singer imploded after he assaulted her in 2009, but they continued to be linked to each other. Drake has spoken in song about his own fleeting romantic encounter with Rihanna; the pair were spotted out together during Memorial Day weekend in Miami. Five people were injured in last night’s brawl, before the New York City Police Department were called in the early morning hours, around 4 a.m. TMZ reported that Brown and Drake were not at the club when police arrived; no arrests were made. If Nicki Minaj Isn’t Hip-Hop, Neither Is Eminem, Ed Lover Says

But Doctor Dre tells ‘RapFix Live’ Nicki should have played Summer Jam: ‘You go out there and you perform for your fans.’ By Rob Markman, with reporting by Sway Calloway Nicki Minaj Photo: Kevin Mazur/ WireImage When it comes to Nicki Minaj versus Hot 97 , it’s hard not to have an opinion. And, of course, Sunday’s Summer Jam drama came up during Wednesday’s (June 6) “RapFix Live.” During the special episode, MTV News correspondent Sway Calloway shared hosting duties with “Yo! MTV Raps” legends Ed Lover and Doctor Dre, who weighed in on the situation. “You can’t look at anybody that crosses over and achieves pop appeal as a sellout, because that’s what you’re trying to do when you put a record out,” Ed Lover said. “So if Nicki Minaj ain’t real hip-hop, then Public Enemy wasn’t real hip-hop, then Run-DMC wasn’t real hip-hop, then Eminem ain’t real hip-hop.” After Hot 97 DJ Peter Rosenberg criticized Nicki’s “Starships” single, suggesting the track wasn’t real hip-hop, Minaj’s Young Money boss Lil Wayne decided to cancel the Summer Jam performance. According to Doctor Dre, that’s a no-no: The show must go on. “First of all, Nicki Minaj was the only one who ruined 55,000 fans’ expectations of the night. It has nothing to do with Rosenberg. You go out there and you perform for your fans,” he said. While Dre feels that Nicki should have performed that night, he also believes Rosenberg was out of line. “We have too many what I call ‘semi-super experts’ who always try to redefine hip-hop from its infancy,” he argued. In the late 1990s, Ed and Dre hosted “Yo! MTV Raps,” and on Thursday, they will be the subjects of VH1’s new Rock Doc “Yo: The Story of Yo! MTV Raps.” During their iconic run, they’ve interviewed artists such as 2Pac, the Notorious B.I.G. and Rakim, just to name a few. They’ve seen many artists come and go. “She’s an artist whether I like her or I don’t like her. My daughter loves her and thinks that she’s the world, and that’s the case,” Dre said before issuing a challenge to Rosenberg. “You make your record and get in the ring and let’s see how you react, whether you start to sell out or not.” Where do you stand in the Young Money/ Summer Jam drama?
