It’s only been three days since Zayn Malik quit One Direction but it looks as though the 22-year-old is already hard at work on the next stage of his career. Sources tell People magazine that Zayn was spotted entering a recording studio today, and it is believed that he’s collaborating with Naughty Boy (the UK-based songwriter who helped launch Sam Smith’s career) on a solo album to be released later this year. Considering Zayn just spoke about his One Direction departure and his desire to “live a normal life” earlier today, fans and the other members of 1D are understandably feeling a bit confused. “He told everyone in the band and management that he wants to live a normal life, and the next thing you know, he’s going into music studios and doing interviews with tabloids,” says a source close to the situation. “Everyone feels a bit misled and thinks he was lying about wanting to live a normal life. Everyone feels played by him. Louis and Zayn are friends, but the rest probably won’t talk to him.” Of course, even if Zayn is actually working on a solo album, it may be just one of several reasons that he chose to part ways with the band that made him famous. Some have blamed Perrie Edwards for Zayn’s departure . Others have claimed that Malik was fired from the band as a result of his drug and alcohol use. It’s only been one day since Zayn Malik quit One Direction , but fan theories as to why the fan-favorite pop star chose to part ways the group that made him famous are everywhere on the Internet. Zayn loyalists believe his management’s explanation that Malik quit due to stress. Others blame Zayn’s fiancee, Perrie Edwards , claiming that she convinced him to call it quits so that he could focus on their relationship. Now, a new theory is emerging that’s sure to enrage the millions of Directioners who counted Zayn as their fave. Radar Online is reporting that sources connected to the band have revealed that Zayn was actually fired as a result of his escalating bad behavior: “Zayn’s alcohol and drug use became a huge problem,” one insider claims, adding that Malik was eventually given an ultimatum: sober up, or hit the road. “He chose not to get clean and that is when they parted ways,” the source claims. “They gave him every opportunity to clean up his act, but he just couldn’t do it.” Malik’s alleged drug use first came under scrutiny last year when video of Zayn and Louis Tomlinson smoking a joint leaked online. Months later, another Zayn substance abuse scandal erupted when Matt Lauer questioned the rest of the band about his absence during an appearance on Today. “He’s in bad shape, which is the real reason he went home to London,” says the anonymous insider. “He’s been going down fast and it was decided that an intervention was needed. “It was decided that it was best for him to go home and take care of him for right now.” That explanation might never be confirmed, but one thing is for sure – the many zealous fans who have already r eacted to Zayn’s departure on Twitter will likely have an opinion or two about this latest allegation. Liam Payne should know better: One Direction fans are not in a joking mood at the moment. Just hours after Zayn Malik quit the group , sending followers into a frantic online tizzy , Payne posted a photo of himself, Harry Styles, Niall Horan and Louis Tomlinson posing with fans while on tour. As you can see, the face of a certain ex -member is being covered up by Payne’s hand in the image: Liam must have sensed this move would hit a nerve because he wrote as a caption to the picture: “#makinglightofasituation sorry for the laughs guys.” And then once it was clear One Direction fans really were upset over the perceived Zayn Malik slight, Payne followed up on Twitter with: “Some people can’t take a joke … Bit of banter guys chill out.” It’s just too soon, Liam. One Direction Concert Movie: First Trailer!

Prepare to squeal in delight, THGers. One Direction has released the first trailer for One Direction: Where We Are, an upcoming concert film that will hit theaters on October 11. The movie will feature 75 minutes of concert performances, along with 15 minutes of never-before-seen behind-the-scenes footage and exclusive interviews with these beautiful Brits. Most of the performances will be taken from the group’s June show at Milan’s San Siro stadium.
