Nic Cage: Argumentative, WASTED at Tattoo Parlor Prior to Arrest

Surveillance video taken inside a tattoo shop just before Nicolas Cage was arrested this weekend shows the actor drinking and arguing with his wife and others. Cage is clearly shown carrying some sort of drink as he stumbles around, fretting to employees about not recalling where he lived and getting testy with wife Alice. Nic began throwing his clothes around, demanding to get inked up. Intoxicated, he then asked employees to call the cops … ’cause he didn’t know where he lived. Police report that this was the topic he and Alice were arguing over – the address where they’re living while he films Medallion – when he allegedly grabbed her. In the surveillance tape, Cage, holding a clear plastic cup, can be seen with his arms around two friends as he enters. Nic walked out and back in and out again. At that point, he can be seen arguing with his wife and friends. His wife can be seen motioning to herself throughout, as if to say, “Listen to me” or “Come with me.” Eventually, Nic acquiesced and left the shop … only to later be arrested on charges of domestic violence and disturbing the peace, having taunted police to bust him. He was released on $11,000 bail after Duane “Dog” Chapman posted bond for him, which is easily the most random and hilarious part of an already classic story. [Photo: WENN.com]

Nicolas Cage Arrested For Abusing Wife, Taunts Cops, Sprung By Dog the Bounty Hunter

Nicolas Cage was arrested early this morning in New Orleans for domestic abuse against his wife, Alice, along with one count of disturbing the peace. In town filming a movie called Medallion , Nic and Alice disagreed over the exact address of an apartment they were renting in the city, police report. Standing in front of a property he believed they were renting, he grabbed her by the arm to pull her to what he believed was the correct address. Police say there were no visible signs of injury on her arm, but just the same, he joined our celebrity mug shot gallery with this hilarious pic. The NOPD went on to say Cage then began to hit parked cars and later attempted to get into a taxi. Cops say Cage eventually got into a cab. A police officer ordered him out … which “prompted Cage to start yelling” and basically daring cops to arrest him … which always goes well. It only got wilder from there. The police came and told Nic and his wife to just go home, however, that’s when the actor allegedly told cops, “Why don’t you just arrest me?” The cops then reiterated that he and his wife should just go home. Cage then repeated his dare to cops, who ultimately decided to oblige. He was charged with domestic abuse and disturbing the peace. Later, it was revealed that Alice is reportedly not a complaining witness and doesn’t want him charged, saying there was no physical contact. Nic was then released on bond … thanks to Duane “Dog” Chapman! Dog and his wife Beth arrived at the scene and sprung him for $11K! Beth posted on her Twitter, “My guy just walked out of the jail damn new Orleans 8 hours holy cow that’s a lot of time to Process one guy.” More details to come as this ridiculous story develops …

Daniel Radcliffe Talks Transition From Screen To Stage

The ‘Harry Potter’ star faced ‘a lot of challenges’ preparing for the Broadway musical ‘How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying.’ By Terri Schwartz, with reporting by Josh Horowitz Daniel Radcliffe Photo: MTV News Daniel Radcliffe has had an impressive debut on Broadway with his lead role in the musical “How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying,” but the transition from film to stage did not come easy for the “Harry Potter” star. When Radcliffe sat down for an interview with MTV News on Thursday, he said that even after the play’s glowing reviews and the praise heaped on his performance, he still didn’t feel completely at ease with his abilities in the role. “No, not at all. Not in the slightest. I kind of still don’t,” Radcliffe said in response to whether he felt comfortable as a Broadway star. “But I am doing it and it was just a matter of, a lot of other people had faith in me.” There were two people in particular — the production’s choreographer and its director, Rob Ashford — whose faith in Radcliffe inspired the actor to suffer through the difficult training process. Radcliffe, who has never had to sing or dance for a role in his life, noted that “there were a lot of challenges” he faced during his transition period onto the stage, but he did admit that everything he achieved for the musical he did with hard work. “With the dance, particularly, there were some days when I was just so tired halfway through,” Radcliffe explained. “There was one time when I was in my dance class and we were like two-and-a-quarter hours in and I just have 45 minutes left, and I was like, ‘How am I going to get through the last 45 minutes of this lesson?’ And I actually went to the toilet, sat down on the toilet with the lid down, [set] my phone alarm for five minutes and just went to sleep for like five minutes and I just woke up thinking, ‘Jesus, I’m not sure I’m going to be able to hack it if I can’t even get through a lesson.’ ” But Radcliffe has been able to “hack it,” and has surpassed many expectations to deliver a solid Broadway performance. It’s why he started training for the role a year in advance, and why he made sure he had ample time off from the “Harry Potter” set to be ready for the part. “You do have to get your levels of ability up to standard, but also your levels of fitness and stamina,” said Radcliffe of his training process. “It’s been kind of beneficial to me in every area of my personal health and life, as well as just kind of being able to keep in step with Broadway.” Are you interested in seeing Daniel Radcliffe perform on Broadway? Akon Calls Nick Cannon ‘Famous’ Collabo ‘Overdue’

‘He does a lot of family-friendly stuff and I’m trying to go into that realm,’ ‘Kon tells MTV News. By Alvin Blanco, with reporting by Kelly Marino Akon Photo: MTV News Akon ‘s year in music may seem like it’s off to a slow start, but expect the Senegalese-American artist’s name to be back to music industry ubiquity shortly. MTV News recently caught up with the singer/producer/executive on the set of Nick Cannon’s video for “Famous,” where Akon told us linking up with the actor/rapper (who’s expecting twins with wife Mariah Carey ) was opportune. “I listened to [‘Famous’] and I actually liked it,” Akon said. “He does a lot of family-friendly stuff and I’m trying to go into that realm right now. I want to do a lot more family-friendly stuff, and Nick is the best at that. I feel like this was a collaboration way overdue.” On the set, Akon was friendly as always but didn’t divulge any new details about his upcoming album, Stadium, which he hopes to release in September. Last year, the “Sexy Chick” singer revealed to MTV News that producer David Guetta had contributed to the project. For now, Akon plans to go on mini-tours and release new music just to whet the appetites of his fans. But he still isn’t sure which song he’ll drop first. “I don’t know what to release first,” he said. “I’m so excited about the project itself, I’m like, ‘OK, which record do I want to put out first?’ I haven’t quite decided but by the end of April I’ll know exactly what I’mma do with the record.” ‘Kon was more assured in his reverence for Dr. Dre. Last year’s “Kush,” the official lead single from Dre’s long-awaited Detox album, featured a vocal from Akon. “Dre is one of those guys … he’s a perfectionist in his own [right],” Akon said. “You feel confident working with him because he’s not going to let nothing go undone. In a way, that’s great. But sometimes you’re anxious too, like, ‘Man I can’t wait to let everybody hear this.’ Ultimately, working with Dre was just amazing. Dre is very picky about who he decides to work with too. For him to call me and do [multiple] tracks on the record and be involved in more than one record on that album, it said a lot. It shows how much he really appreciated what I’m doing.” Are you excited to hear new tracks from Akon? Tell us in the comments! Related Artists Akon Nick Cannon

Taylor Lautner’s 10 Best MTV Quotes

Gear up for Lautner’s ‘MTV First’ interview Wednesday at 7:56 p.m. ET by looking back at a few choice lines he’s given us. By Eric Ditzian Taylor Lautner Photo: MTV News Taylor Lautner has changed a lot since we first met him in April 2008 on the Portland, Oregon, set of “Twilight.” He’s gone from a skinny 16-year-old who not everyone believed would be able to convincingly portray jacked-up werewolf Jacob Black to a 19-year-old heartthrob who elicits screams from fans every time he doffs his shirt and who is set to become the highest-paid teen in Hollywood . Not too bad, right? Yet as his body has transformed and his celebrity has exploded, Lautner has managed to stay the same person. That’s the unmistakable takeaway as we dive back into our archival interviews with the actor in the run-up to “MTV First: Taylor Lautner,” a 30-minute interview set for Wednesday on air and online. From back in ’08 up until this very day, Lautner has remained a funny, goofy, sometimes shy, always thankful kid. With those thoughts in mind, check out our 10 favorite Lautner quotes from MTV News interviews and tell us if you can possibly disagree: 10. “I think they might start crying.” — On the reaction to fans seeing him shirtless in “New Moon” 9. “It is a little awkward for me to watch myself and, actually, when we’re filming those scenes.” — On shooting those shirtless scenes 8. “One second I’ll be listening to country, and then the next I’ll be listening to techno and then R&B. It’s ridiculous. I am all over the place with my music.” — On his musical tastes 7. “It’s like the worst superhero power, possibly, to get, and how you’re going to take that and use it for good and how you’re going to be creative with that.” — On the abilities of Stretch Armstrong , a character he signed on to play last year 6. “It’s my favorite, because it’s the most guy-friendly by far. It’s dangerous. There’s a lot of action. The romance is still there, but the action level is stepped up way more.” — On why “Eclipse” is his favorite “Twilight” book 5. “The quote I love the most is Jacob’s quote: ‘Does my half being naked bother you?’ That quote just cracks me up. Because, you know, that’s when he’s shirtless, not wearing a top.” — On his favorite line in a “Twilight” book 4. “It gets kind of itchy.” — On his “Twilight” wig 3. “It caught me by surprise when I read the book. I think I originally heard it happened through somebody who had already read it — and I didn’t believe it. Then I read the book, and I was like, ‘You’ve got to be kidding me.’ ” — On his initial reaction to the book release of “Breaking Dawn” 2. “There’s a scene where I’m carrying [Kristen Stewart], and it’s also, like, four pages of dialogue. So I’m carrying her, and we’re walking through the woods, and I’m talking to her, and it’s a pretty intense talk. We actually had plans, a rig that was basically going to carry her, and I was just going to pretend that I was carrying her. We got there on the day, and the rig didn’t look very natural. They were like, ‘What are we going to do?’ and I’m like, ‘I’ll just carry her. She’s like, what, 110 pounds? It’s no big deal!’ ” — On filming an “Eclipse” scene with his co-star 1. “To growl. I’m asked that by a lot by fans, and I don’t like doing that. So, fans, please don’t ask me that. Wait for the movie.” — On his least-favorite question What’s your favorite Taylor Lautner MTV quote? Justin Timberlake, Drake Support ‘Real Men’ Campaign

Demi Moore and Ashton Kutcher’s foundation against child sex slavery also gets help from Sean Penn and Bradley Cooper. By James Dinh Justin Timberlake shaves with a chainsaw in his “Real Men” public service announcement Photo: demiandashton.org Some of the biggest men in entertainment are flaunting their acting chops for a good reason. In partnership with Demi Moore and Ashton Kutcher’s Real Men Don’t Buy Girls campaign , Justin Timberlake, Drake and a string of other men have come together to film a series of comical spots to promote the movement’s message against child sex slavery. Kutcher took to Hope140.org to guest blog about the campaign, explaining why he and Moore chose to mix comedy with the issue’s serious undertones. “We want to engage people, educate them, get them thinking and talking about it, in order to raise awareness and ultimately end child sex slavery,” the actor wrote. “We came up with the concept of the ‘Real Men Don’t Buy Girls’ campaign, which aims to engage people, specifically men, in the issue. To do so, we filmed short, funny videos about things ‘Real Men’ do, starring high-profile influential men and women.” In short, Kutcher explained that the message of the video campaign is that real men “do a lot of silly, even foolish things,” but they don’t buy children for sex. “That’s not funny, and Real Men don’t do it,” he added. In Timberlake’s minute-long spot , the singer-turned-actor hums to himself as he lathers his face with shaving cream. However, instead of using a razor to remove his 5-o’clock shadow, the newly single star cranks a chainsaw before a voiceover says: “Real men prefer a close shave.” Eva Longoria concludes the spot with a framed photo of Timberlake alongside fellow hall of fame “real men.” Standing inside a log cabin, the actress offers another addition to the club: “Perez Hilton is a real man. Are you?” she asks. Drake presents another strangely comical message in his spot . As he walks down a city street, the Young Money MC puts a cell phone conversation on hold when he sees a beckoning silver robot on a side street. The duo gaze into one another’s eyes before Drake sucker punches the android and walks away. “Real men are distrustful of robots,” says the voiceover. Other “real men” participating in the campaign spots include Sean Penn, Bradley Cooper, Jamie Foxx and Jason Mraz, with similar video formats and the same signature closing tagline: “Real men don’t buy girls.” Which is your favorite Real Men Don’t Buy Girls campaign video? Not Winning: Charlie Sheen’s NYC Show Flops So Bad He Had To Run Out Of The Theater!!

We get it. Someone probably gave you a big check to carry out this foolishness, but it might be time to consider pulling the plug. Sheen and his “Violent Torpedo of Truth” tour limped and sputtered through town. And when the show ended — ahead of schedule — the actor ran from the stage like a scared felon ahead of a lynch mob. “F–k you, Charlie! F–k you, Charlie!” a row of young men chanted after Sheen sprinted from the theater. For an hour, Sheen chain-smoked like a criminal — “can I have a f–king cigarette?” — lobbed the F-bomb like a 4-year-old suffering from Tourette’s, and praised Donald Trump as a “real f–king dude.” He prattled and preened and told pointless — and worst of all, boring — stories about Hollywood, hookers, being rich and being Charlie Sheen. He talked about nearly getting caught after locking himself in an airplane bathroom while flying with actor Nicolas Cage and a seven-gram cocaine rock. “My balls are sweating like a gerbil in a Richard Gere convention,” he said. And that, my friends, was as good as it got. Then…it went ALL bad. After alternately motor-mouthing and begging for his job back at “Two and a Half Men,” Charlie abruptly ran out of gas. At the 45-minute mark, he simply stopped talking. Sheen sat onstage, smoking silently, next to a man who served as his interviewer — I never did catch his name. The co-star looked as if he wanted to cry. The paying audience should have. “Where are the goddesses?” an audience member cried. The two bimbos with whom Charlie lives smartly came out and waved — and then skedaddled. Charlie pulled the plug after losing the crowd, and ran from the stage ahead of trouble. Don’t say we didn’t try to tell you Chuck. Something bad is going to happen at one of these shows behind some drunk a**hole who wants to heckle you. Call it quits while you still have some dignity left… Source
