An Evening With Charlie Sheen: Heading Overseas!

The Violent Torpedo Of Truth tour is out. An Evening With Charlie Sheen is possibly in. During a radio interview with a Sydney station, the actor told host Scott Dooley he was planning to revamp his show a bit and take it overseas. “Why don’t I take this thing on the road to Australia, parts of Europe, parts of Asia. If I pick out six cities over two weeks and if it wasn’t about violent torpedoes and truth seeking but more about an evening with Charlie Sheen, if I told people what to expect maybe they wouldn’t heckle me like the drunk clowns that they are, ” Sheen said. The man really knows how to woo an audience, doesn’t he? Responding to criticism over his domestic tour, Sheen said it was “overbooked and it went on too long,” adding: “It wasn’t a question of my fatigue factor, but I had to keep digging a little deeper each night in the new cities to remind myself that it was new for them.” Now “relieved” to be done with it, Sheen concluded the discussion with a jab at Americans: “It would seem like the European mentalities would give me a little more time and a little more patience to actually listen and embrace a format like that, where they come in knowing what to expect.” To his credit, however, the star said all proceeds from any upcoming shows would go to his Torpedoes Against Tornados Foundation .

Lady Gaga Debuts ‘Glee’ Clip From ‘Born This Way’ Episode

Singer took to Facebook to share 50-second teaser that shows Mr. Schuester giving New Directions Gaga assignment. By James Dinh Lady Gaga Photo: Bryan Bedder/ Getty Images “Glee” is ready to go Gaga all over again. But this time, the New Directions gang will not only pay tribute to the pop star, they’ll also embrace themselves in an episode devoted to self-acceptance. Lady Gaga took to her Facebook on Friday (April 22) and premiered a clip from the highly anticipated episode, which airs Tuesday. In the preview, Mr. Schuester tells the club they’ll be performing songs of self-love, including a group number of the singer’s hit “Born This Way.” Finn Hudson (Cory Monteith) kicks off the 50-second teaser by asking Mr. Schuester (Matthew Morrison) why Ms. Pillsbury (Jayma Mays) is attending their glee club meeting. Schuester tells the students that the guidance counselor will be helping out with the weekly assignment. “Now, this is the only club at school that is represented by just about every race, religion, sexual orientation and clique, but many of are you are still having a hard time with acceptance,” he says. Despite rebuttals from the students, the club director explains that while they may embrace one another, they still don’t accept themselves — for all of their good and bad qualities. Mr. Schuester then reveals the two-part assignment: singing tunes of self-acceptance that highlight their best and worst aspects, as well as performing “Born This Way.” “We’re going to do a group number by the queen of self-love, Gaga. We’re going to perform her anthem to acceptance, ‘Born This Way,’ ” he tells the students, who break into cheers and applause. Back in January, “Glee” creator Ryan Murphy opened up about why he chose to feature the hit song in the episode, which has been super-sized to 90 minutes . “I love that that song is [an] anthem,” Murphy told Entertainment Weekly. “This show is by nature optimistic, and I think a character like Karofsky could turn to booze or pills or alcohol and kill themselves or do something dark. But I also love Max [Adler, the actor] and I love that character and I sorta want that character to have a happy ending. So I don’t really know what that’s going to be, but I do know we’re going to do a whole episode that’s about that song.” Are you excited for the “Born This Way” episode of “Glee”? Weigh in below! Mel Gibson Breaks Silence On Infamous Oksana Tapes

Actor says his angry rants were recorded during ‘one terribly awful moment in time.’ By Gil Kaufman Mel Gibson Photo: Kevin Winter/ Getty Images For much of the past year, the only times we’ve heard Mel Gibson’s voice in public were when new snippets of his now-infamous rant tapes were released by Radar Online. You might recall the racist, sexist explosion of rage at Gibson’s ex and mother of his infant daughter, Oksana Grigorieva, on the recordings, which were leaked by an unknown source to the site and revealed a dark, disturbing side to the actor whose biggest movies have often been laced with a sadistic streak. Gibson finally broke his silence on the matter this week, sitting down with a reporter from Deadline Hollywood and explaining that the tapes were made in “one terribly awful moment in time, said to one person in the span of one day, and doesn’t represent what I truly believe or how I’ve treated people my entire life.” After the tape scandal, as well as Gibson’s anti-Semitic rant during a drunken driving arrest in 2006, the actor said he realized people might not want to see him in movies again. But with the long-delayed film “The Beaver” slated to hit screens next month and another film in the works, Gibson is resigned to his box-office fate. “I could easily not act again. It’s not a problem,” he said. He admitted that, “of course” he regrets what he said on the recordings — which included threats on Grigorieva’s life — and that he was angry at himself for what he’d said, but that no one ever expressed any anger toward him about the scandal. And even though he’s been a public figure for three decades, Gibson said he was shocked when the tapes ended up online for the world to hear. “Who anticipates being recorded? Who anticipates that?” he said. “Who could anticipate such a personal betrayal?” But when asked how people are supposed to feel about the racist, sexist slurs he used, Gibson denied ever discriminating against anyone. “I’ve never treated anyone badly or in a discriminatory way based on their gender, race, religion or sexuality — period,” he said. “I don’t blame some people for thinking that though, from the garbage they heard on those leaked tapes, which have been edited. You have to put it all in the proper context of being in an irrationally, heated discussion at the height of a breakdown, trying to get out of a really unhealthy relationship.” The reporter also asked about the dust-up over his scotched cameo in “The Hangover II,” which reportedly was pulled after cast members complained about working with the tainted star. “You have to let that go,” he said, responding to the rumors for the first time. “I sat here and talked to [director] Todd [Phillips] about it. I like Todd. How could you not like Todd? He’s smart and he’s gifted and so are the other people in the film. It’s okay. You just have to let that go.” While some longtime friends such as Whoopi Goldberg and “Beaver” co-star Jodie Foster spoke out on Gibson’s behalf, they were in the minority, and the interviewer wondered how the lack of public support from his peers made Gibson feel. “That doesn’t bother me,” he said. “Why would anyone want to speak publicly and drag themselves through this crap? It seems to add fuel to the fire. Very many people are supportive, of course, but you find out who your friends are. I have many friends, and they’ve been great.” Though legally barred from discussing his custody proceedings with Grigorieva, Gibson did talk about the plea deal he took in the assault case against his ex, which allowed him to avoid jail time. “I was allowed to end the case and still maintain my innocence. It’s called a West plea, and it’s not something that prosecutors normally allow,” he said. “But in my case, the prosecutors and the judge agreed that it was the right thing to do. I could have continued to fight this for years, and it probably would have come out fine. But I ended it for my children and my family. This was going to be such a circus. You don’t drag other people in your life through this sewer needlessly, so I’ll take the hit and move on.” Gibson also declined to talk about his divorce from his wife of 28 years, Robyn, citing the lack of privacy in his life due to his fame, but he did say the tape scandal may be the worst thing he’s put his family through. “The main thing is that it was terribly humiliating and painful for my family, all my kids,” he said. “I had to speak to them with everyone, but my youngest who is blissfully unaware, thank God. Well, she may be aware of it one day, and at that time, I guess I’ll just address that. I spent 30 years keeping them away from this kind of thing and I was quite successful. So why should I start now dragging them through that stuff? You try to manage that.” Related Photos Celebrity Mug Shots

Nicolas Cage’s Domestic Violence Arrest Just Latest Of Actor’s Legal Problems

Cage was arrested on Saturday in New Orleans after violent argument with his wife. By Gil Kaufman Nicolas Cage (file) Photo: Frazer Harrison/ Getty Images When he isn’t chasing down his purloined Superman comic books, actor Nicolas Cage has kept busy cranking out a steady combination of box-office fluff and embarrassing mug shots. The latest addition to that canon came on Saturday, when a scruffy-looking Cage was arrested in New Orleans on charges of domestic abuse battery and disturbing the peace. According to ABC News , the heavily intoxicated actor engaged in a violent argument with his wife, Alice Kim, in a tattoo parlor and then on the street, during which he allegedly pushed her, punched a few cars and dared police to arrest him in a scene that could have come from his Oscar-winning 1995 film “Leaving Las Vegas.” It’s just the latest legal problem to face the actor, who has weathered a string of financial and legal setbacks — not to mention a series of box-office duds — over the past few years. Cage was caught on tape getting into a violent altercation at a Romanian nightclub while filming the “Ghost Rider” sequel last year. And though he was not charged in the incident, he also allegedly got into a drunken verbal brawl at a New Orleans bar during Mardi Gras in March. He’s also faced a series of financial problems, despite being one of the highest-paid actors in Hollywood. In late 2009, the IRS put a tax lien on Cage’s real-estate holdings, including properties he owns in New Orleans, over failure to pay federal taxes. He is also alleged to have failed to pay more than $6.2 million in taxes in 2007 and more than $350,000 from 2002 to 2004. Cage has admitted that he owes the IRS $14 million and is in the midst of repaying it after changing business managers. While he’s blamed his handlers, they’ve said his outrageous spending on items ranging from lavish homes, castles and Caribbean islands to gothic curios, dozens of cars, jewelry and dinosaur skulls have done him in. Cage has sued his former business manager, Samuel Levin, for $20 million for mismanagement, a claim Levin denies. In addition to the scuffle with his third wife, mother of his young son Kal-El, he’s also been sued by an ex-girlfriend, Christina Fulton, mother of his oldest child, 20-year-old Weston. Fulton hit Cage with a fraud and breach of contract action in 2009. She claimed in the suit that Cage inflicted “mental, physical and emotional abuse” on her during their relationship. She further claimed that he bought her a house in 2001, but that when she tried to sell it in 2009 she learned the title was not in her name. Cage’s spokespeople called the suit “absurd.”

9/11 Conspiracy Theorists: Angry at Charlie Sheen

He’s angered CBS employees, sitcom fans and women’s rights group. But Charlie Sheen is now facing the wrath of an unexpected enemy: The 9/11 Truth Movement. A representative of that group – which alleges the World Trade Center attacks were initiated by the The United States – says he and his fellow conspiracy theorists are peeved that the actor is using his tour to prattle on about drug use, Denise Richards and other items that aren’t related to Sheen’s former claims about the buildings’ collapse appearing to be a “controlled demolition.” Mark Dice says Sheen should be “asking hard questions about what happened on 9/11 and the resulting wars… not bragging about smoking crack and sleeping with hookers.” Dice has failed in his attempts to contact the star and adds that he and his group will protest Sheen’s upcoming shows if the topic is not addressed. So congratulations Mark Dice and The 9/11 Truth Movement. You’ve managed to make Charlie Sheen look sane.

Robert Pattinson Describes Wrapping ‘Breaking Dawn’ At ‘Water For Elephants’ Premiere

‘It was a mad rush to get here,’ actor tells MTV News. By Aly Semigran, with reporting by Josh Horowitz Robert Pattinson and Reese Witherspoon at the New York premiere of “Water For Elephants” Photo: Matt Harper/ MTV News The stage was set on Sunday (April 17) on a beautiful spring evening in New York for the world premiere of “Water for Elephants.” The stars of director Francis Lawrence’s highly anticipated period drama, adapted from Sara Gruen’s best-selling book of the same name, arrived at the famed Ziegfeld Theatre to debut their film and greet hundreds of excited fans. Early to arrive at the premiere of “Water for Elephants” — which streamed live on MTV.com — were castmembers such as Christoph Waltz and Hal Holbrook. Of course, no one was a bigger draw than the film’s leading man, Robert Pattinson. Though, truth be told, many on the red carpet were hoping to get a glimpse of his larger-than-life co-star, Tai the elephant . No stranger to the mass hysteria he brings everywhere, Pattinson, looking dapper in a suit and tie, signed autographs and posed for pictures with the fans lined up across the even-busier-than-usual Manhattan street, many of whom had waited outside in rainy weather the day before. After RPattz spent ample time with frenzied fans, he — alongside leading lady (and newlywed) Reese Witherspoon — found a moment to chat with MTV News on the red carpet. When asked if this premiere felt different from the “Twilight” series premieres, the actor said with a laugh, “Well, not that different.” But despite their enthusiasm for the 24-year-old star, it seems the “Water for Elephants” groupies have been much more subdued than the Twi-hards throughout the whole process. While many fans waited near the set throughout filming, hoping to catch a glimpse of him, Pattinson told us, “They weren’t very scream-y,” adding, “They were very nice fans.” The cries of the very vocal “Twilight” fans will no doubt be heard now that the franchise has completed wrapping. The actor — who also told us that glitzy red-carpet premieres like these can feel like work but still be “kinda fun” — revealed he was whisked away from the last day of filming “Breaking Dawn, Part 2” to make it to New York for his new film’s big night. Pattinson, who said he left the “Breaking Dawn” set in Vancouver around 1 a.m. on Sunday, told MTV, “It was a mad rush to get here.” It was so tight, in fact, that the superstar was still filming some of his very last scenes as Edward Cullen. Pattinson said that while he was being taken away to go to NYC, the “Breaking Dawn” crew was pleading, ” ‘Come on, we need, like, one more shot!’ ” Still, despite wrapping up “Breaking Dawn” and premiering “Water for Elephants” within just a matter of hours, Pattinson called the whole whirlwind experience “very exciting.” “Water for Elephants” arrives in theaters on Friday, April 22.
