Sacha Baron Cohen Oscar Stunt: Denied by The Academy

Sacha Baron Cohen not been banned from The Academy Awards. Not yet at least. But the actor is in hot water with the organization because he wants to walk the red carpet dressed as the main character from The Dictator , a Middle Eastern leader named General Aladeen. The Academy is less than enthused over this plan. “We would hope that every studio knows that this is a bad idea,” a spokesperson told Deadline . “The red carpet is not about stunting.” The Dictator Trailer Still, Cohen – who stars in Hugo , a Best Picture nominee – is still invited to the ceremony… for now. An insider does conform however, that his tickets will be rescinded if he goes through with the stunt. What do you think? Should the Oscars remain pure, traditional and promotion-free? Or is still stale, ratings-declining ceremony in need of someone like Cohen to spice the show up?

Adele Breaks Record With 21 Weeks at #1

Even the late Whitney Houston was unable to oust Adele from the #1 spot on the Billboard album chart, as the UK singer’s album set a new high water mark this week. Adele’s album, 21, fittingly took the top spot for a record 21st straight week. The previous title holder at 20 weeks? The Bodyguard soundtrack, by Whitney Houston . 21 is now the longest running No. 1 album by a woman. Boosted by her six Grammy awards and performance comeback, Adele’s 21 saw its best sales in 52 weeks on the U.S. chart, selling 730,000 copies just last week. 21 features hits “Rolling in the Deep” and “Someone Like You” and has now sold over 18 million copies worldwide since its release in Feb. 2011, Columbia Records said. The 23-year-old singer/songwriter also saw a surge in sales for her debut album, 19 , which sold 87,000 copies, while Houston has seen major posthumous sales. Seven of Houston’s albums re-entered the Billboard chart this week, led by Whitney: The Greatest Hits compilation at No. 2, selling an impressive 175,000 copies. Her self-titled album sold 17,000 to take the 37th spot. Houston’s “I Will Always Love You” single took the No. 2 spot in the Billboard Digital Songs Chart.

Adele Gives The Finger At Brit Awards

Adele keeps it all the way real she gave the finger at last night’s BRIT Awards when she was cut off while making her acceptance speech. Adele had just won the award for British Album of the Year for 21 and was making a genuine, from the heart speech. She was saying, “Thank you very, very much. Nothing is better than coming home with six Grammies and winning Album of the Year. Nothing makes me prouder than to be British.” So that’s when host James Corden cut her off. Not only did the crowd boo, but he got the finger from Adele. At a post-awards press conference, Adele commented on her reaction, saying, “I was cut off during my speech but I wanted to thank the British public for all their support. I was held up with my voice and troubles but the album kept walking without me. I flipped the bird for the suits at the BRITS who cut me off. Sorry if I offended anyone but it was for them, not for the fans.” Adele also won for British Female Solo Artist. Giving the bird wasn’t the only reason people were talking about Adele’s fingers … she was also sporting a huge rock on her left hand, fueling talk of an engagement to her boyfriend Simon Konecki. There’s been no confirmation of that.

Leah Messer: Jumped By Roving Gang of She-Thugs Outside Movie Theater!

Teen Mom 2 star Leah Messer was brutally attacked by a group of three women outside a West Virginia movie theater this weekend, according to reports. The 19-year-old mother of twins, who just miscarried in her second pregnancy, is telling friends and family that the incident went down Sunday night. Leah Messer says she had just left the theater with her new fiance, Jeremy Calvert, when an older woman began following her and calling her names. Leah insists she tried to tell the woman to leave her alone when two other girls came out of nowhere and all three began wailing on her hardcore. Sources say Leah’s fiance and a security guard managed to pull the three assailants off the MTV star and got Messer the hell out of the area. A photo of her face following the brawl shows the poor blonde with a swollen cheek and redness on her neck and chest … this was a serious melee. Messer apparently did not recognize any of her attackers, but Leah’s mother has since gone to Twitter in an effort to try and identify the women. It’s equally unclear why the goons decided to go after her in the first place. Sources say Leah plans to follow up with police later today to file a report.

Adele Gets Cut Off at Brit Awards, Flips Off Producers on Stage

Who knew M.I.A. had anything in common with Adele ? After being honored with Best Album at the Brit Awards tonight on London, this beloved superstar barely started her acceptance speech when host James Cordon interrupted her to introduce 90s British pop band Blur. The crowd booed, and Adele did this: Adele Flips Off the Brit Awards “I flung the middle finger,” she later told the BBC. “That was for the suits at the Brit Awards, not my fans. I’m sorry if I offended anyone but the suits offended me.” Adele spent most of the night cuddling up to boyfriend Simon Konecki , with the exception of her other time on stage, when she belted out a rendition of “Rolling in the Deep.” Watch it below. Adele Sex Tape Story Sparks Legal Threat from Singer

Adele is best known for her blockbuster hit, “Rolling in the Deep.” But was the singer once rolling in the hay… on camera? Yes, a French tabloid hilariously claims, as the latest issue of Public is running a cover story that alleges Adele and the ex about whom she penned songs from the album “21” once pulled a Kim Kardashian/Ray J . The magazine even includes photos with the report. In response, Adele has hired Schillings law firm to represent her in a possibly lawsuit against the tabloid. “We are informed that the French magazine Public has today published images which it claims show our client in a sex tape,” one of Adele’s attorney says. “Our client has not appeared in a sex tape as claimed in the article. Our client does not appear in the photographs. Such claims are grossly defamatory. Our client is taking legal action in relation to this matter.” Darn right. In this instance, rumor has it… wrong.

Adele pretends her album is about her breaking up with a bad relationship, what she doesn’t say is that bad relationship was with cake…… More importanlty Adele is rumored to be in a sex tape….not necessarily with that chocolate cake… She once said last week that she doesn’t have to dress like a hooker, to which I said because no one wants to see her dressed like a hooker, because she is fat….but all fat jokes aside, I was lying because it turns out I’d love to see this pudgy vocalist show the world why she really had throat surgery last year….it was thanks to deep thraoting… I can’t be sure if it is her…but it sure as hell looks about right….same fat chin and eagerness to be fed….which is what I’m worried this is actually what the pics are of….her at the Mcdonald’s drive thru to eager to get the big mac in her than it looks like she’s about to squirt…. While the other guy that inspired her first album has remained anonymous, the man who inspired “Rolling in the Deep” has been unveiled: He’s a musician and actor who goes by the name Slinky Sunbeam and hails from the seaside town of Margate. Also known as Slinky Winfield, the 25-year-old became Adele’s lover after she was famous, introduced through her close-knit circle of art-loving friends in South London. “Adele likes to keep part of her life back for herself, but it’s an open secret that Slinky was the guy who inspired ‘21,’ ” a friend of the singer tells The Post. “He’s a seriously good-looking guy. He has a great body and likes to wear vests to show it off. And he has this crazy hair which reminds me of Jimi Hendrix — it’s really wild and untamed. “It’s easy to see what attracted Adele to him,” the friend adds. “He’s a really popular guy, the life and soul of the party, and he’s a musician as well. Tony Bennett Pushes for Legalization of Drugs

In the wake of Whitney Houston’s death, most celebrities are reacting with nothing but condolences and kind words about the iconic singer. Some, however, are speaking out in more detail, with Celine Dion telling Good Morning America today that the celebrity culture itself bears some responsibility for Whitney’s demise. Tony Bennett, meanwhile, has taken a different, surprising tact. At Clive Davis’ annual Grammy Awards party, held just hours after Houston passed away, the legendary artist went off on a different topic. “First it was Michael Jackson, then Amy Winehouse, now, the magnificent Whitney Houston,” he said. “I’d like every person in this room to campaign to legalize drugs. Let’s legalize drugs like they did in Amsterdam. No one’s hiding or sneaking around corners to get it. They go to a doctor to get it.” Not sure if that would have saved any of the aforementioned lives, but it’s always an interesting debate. Where do you stand? Should America legalize drugs?
