Conan Goes on Tour, Brings Some Old (New) Friends: VIDEO

Conan O’B rien may be legally prohibited from being funny on television — at least until November — but that doesn’t mean he can’t bring some laughs to YouTube. The new TBS host started his nationwide comedy tour last night in Eugene, Oregon, and — wouldn’t you know it — many of the surprises and jokes from the show have already found there way onto the Internet. So if you can’t wait to see Conan on your HD television in seven months — or if you couldn’t get tickets for the live shows in the other 29 cities — check out these crappy cell phone videos after the jump. Spoilers, kinda.

Dancing with the Stars Recap: Introducing the Bruno Tonioli Heart-Attack Meter

Instead of grading yesterday Dancing with the Stars ‘s rumba/tango night using the judges’ scores as a rubric, why don’t we base the winning performance on what really matters? I’m talking about how close judge Bruno Tonioli came to a staggering heart attack. That’s the tell of real artistry. After the jump, we revisit the nine remaining performers’ routines, rate Tonioli’s bodily response on a scale from 1 (inert) to 10 (meth-splattered convulsions), and reinterpret Tonioli’s critiques as we remembered them. We also listed the real scores for your statistical pleasure.

Friday Box Office: Good Night

Score one for the traditionalists! Maybe. If Date Night (a better than expected $9.5 million on Friday) can hold off Clash of the Titans ($7.8 million) for the remainder of the weekend it will become only the fourth non-3D film released this year to lead the box office. And they said two dimensions were dead. Elsewhere: don’t look now, but the assumed disappointment that was How to Train Your Dragon experienced a scant 19% drop from Friday-to-Friday and has slowly become one of the biggest hits in 2010. Dreamworks Animation CEO Jeffrey Katzenberg is writing that “Suck it, Pixar!” e-mail right about now. The top-five after the jump.

Game Announcement: Konami’s Lost In Shadow

Konami has announced a brand new game: Lost in Shadow . The platformer for the Wii involves, as the title suggests, playing around with shadows. In the game, the main character’s shadow is severed from his body and must “go forth and face the evil.” Overall, it’s got a Shadow Complex meets Shadow of the Colossus vibe, and I’m not just saying that because both games have the word “shadow” in their title. Innovative, artsy platformers are the greatest, I think you will agree. Check out the launch trailer: Watch Larger Version | Watch HD Version
