Thousands of people across the country have called radio stations repeatedly in hopes of scoring free seats… …When it was announced earlier this summer, festival organizers promised an unprecedented lineup from different genres, and they have delivered some big-name acts in pop, rock and country music. On Friday, Jay-Z, Coldplay, Alicia Keys, The Black Eyed Peas, Carrie Underwood, Bruno Mars, Kelly Clarkson and Jane’s Addiction will perform. Saturday brings to the stage Lady Gaga, Jennifer Lopez, Steven Tyler, Kenny Chesney, Nicki Minaj, Rascal Flatts, David Guetta and Sublime with Rome. Swizz Beatz and his baby mama Jahna Sebastian have finally settled their child support case. The two share a 3-year-old daughter Nicole who lives with her mom in Russia. Jahna, who also goes by Zhanna Andrianova, is a singer and the two shared a “relationship” before (maybe during?) his relationship with Alicia Keys (and maybe Mashonda…who knows?!) Accoring to the NY Post , “Lawyers for Andrianova say Beatz agreed to pay her $42,000 legal fees as part of the settlement, signed by him in July and her in August, and a judge at Manhattan Family Court granted them a money judgment Thursday to pursue payment, which could have resulted in his assets being seized or bank accounts frozen. Following this, a check for full payment was sent by Beatz to her lawyer, divorce attorney Raoul Felder on Friday.” Beatz has an 11-year-old son Nasir with Nicole Levy, a 4-year-old son Kasseem Jr. with Mashonda, the aformentioned 3-year-old daughter Nicole with Jahna, and soon-to-be year-old son Egypt with Alicia Keys. Melanie Fiona is gearing up to release her sophomore album The MF Life on October 25th. She is determined to prove that she is not a one hit wonder. Melanie is taking her craft very serious. She recently sat down with Jae Ink for a Q&A for Ammo Magazine. She talks Touring with Alicia Keys and Kanye West, acting and what we can expect from The MF Life . JI: You have a new album coming titled ‘The MF Life’; in an interview you stated the album as being “stadium soul.” Explain what that means. What can fans expect from this album? MF: I fell in love with the sound of my music being played in big arenas when I went on tour with Kanye West & Alicia Keys. I became addicted to that feeling, so I just wanted my music loud and I wanted these songs to be big & I wanted them to be full and feel like they could fill an arena. I’m a big fan of live instrumentation so it was pretty much taking it to another level off the first album and just making this album something big. JI: Who are some of the collaborators on the new album? MF: I haven’t finished what will be on the album yet, but I’ve been in the studio working with Andrew Martin, Los, Jerry Wonder, Salon Remy, Jack Flash, and Chuck Harmony. Its been really good I’ve been getting all my creative juices & getting all my ideas of what I want this album to be about. I’m trying new things & I’m also writing with John Legend. JI: Your first single “Gone and Never Coming Back”, you sing about love lost in a relationship, did this song come from personal experience? MF: Everything I write about, sing about or perform about is always about life. A lot of the things I go through its always what we all go through and I feel like “Gone and Never Coming Back” absolutely comes from personal experience. I’ve had to end chapters in my life, cut people out of my life, say goodbye to people I necessarily wasn’t ready to say goodbye to, had people say goodbye to me and I wasn’t ready to let it go. I feel that is just the real concept of lost & what it means. So I just wanted to put that into a song and make it very emotional something that people can relate to and help them get through whatever it is their going through. Read the full interview HERE . Though it’s difficult to be optimistic about the bleak job market when unemployment is stuck at around 9.1%, but a survey just released by employment services firm ManpowerGroup offers hope for job seekers in many places around the country. The survey reveals that the metropolitan area with the most optimistic forecast of all for hiring this fall is San Antonio, Texas, and there’s also the good news that employers in 45 states expect the bleak employment picture to perk up. In fact, hiring managers in dozens of metropolitan areas anticipate considerable increases in hiring, while others present a darker forecast. In fact, Baltimore-Towson employers are expressing similar sentiments. Twenty percent of that metro area’s hiring managers anticipate a bright fourth quarter. Meanwhile, 7% expect to decrease their payrolls, 71% anticipate no change and 2% are uncertain. This yields a net employment outlook of 13% and positions the Maryland metropolis as the third best place for finding a job this fall. Greensboro-High Point, N.C., St. Louis and Tulsa enjoy the same rank. Part of the fact is that America at large feels that lawmakers are acting like spoiled brats. A new Sarah Palin book claims that the former Alaska governor had sex with former NBA player Glen Rice, while she was an Alaskan sports reporter. Apparently Palin had a fling with former Heat/Hornet/Laker Glen Rice while he was in college and while she was a sports reporter in Alaska, all the way back in 1987, and get this…Rice confirms it in the book. According to the National Enquirer: In the book, which will be published on September 20th, McGinniss claims Sarah had a steamy interracial hookup with basketball stud Glen Rice less than a year before she eloped with her husband Todd. Sarah hooked up with the NBA great, then a 6-foot-8 junior at the University of Michigan when he was playing in a college basketball tournament in Alaska in 1987, the book says. At the time, Sarah, just out of college, was working as a sports reporter for the Anchorage TV station KTUU. A publishing source told The ENQUIRER that McGinniss claims Sarah had a “fetish” for black men at the time and he quotes a friend as saying Sarah had “hauled (Rice’s) ass down.” In the book, McGinniss quotes Rice as confirming the one-night stand.
